When it comes to drug dealers and illicit drug makers do you think of Columbian drug cartels . . . or Israeli Soldiers?!
In an outrageous choice from wardrobe, the latter is apparently what the new “Miami Vice” movie–a horrid, very long and boring remake of the ’80s TV series, in theaters Friday–wants you to think. (Read my full review, Friday.)

In a scene toward the beginning of the 2-hour-plus movie, the Miami Vice guys bust a drug warehouse. The main drug dealer they arrest in the warehouse is wearing a giant Israeli Defense Forces T-shirt, just like the one pictured above. (I own one, and often wear it as a night-shirt). It features the Israeli abbreviation “Tzahal,” which stands for Tzava HaGanah L’Yisrael–literally, “The Army That Defends Israel” or “Israel Defense Forces,” as it is commonly known.
It’s a quick scene and a minor detail, but I noticed it big-time. And the placement of the IDF T-shirt was deliberate and noticeable. Not to mention, GRATUITOUS! So, just how many Israeli soldiers wearing Tzahal/IDF shirts do you know? We don’t know any either. And we’ve never read a single news report that there are any. At a time when Israeli soldiers are being held captive by Islamic terrorist groups and fighting for the very survival of Israel against these subhumans, it’s hardly the time for a trashy ’80s remake to defame them as drug dealers. In fact, it’s never the time for that.
But don’t tell that to the anti-Israel, PC phonies who run Hollywood. Show them in another way: BY BOYCOTTING “MIAMI VICE.” Shame on Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx for allowing this propaganda.

Why do the FBI, ICE, and the Justice Department continue to allow an obvious Hezbollah charity to operate on our shores?
In May, I wrote–twice! ( and )–about Hezbollah financier Talal Chahine and his contributions to Hezbollah front charity Al Mabarrat Association. I also wrote about its Dearborn, Michigan affiliate, Al Mabarat Charitable Organization. I had all the details and have reposted them below. (Yesterday, I went to an Al Mabarrat related event, yesterday, and will post about that, later.)

Now, over two months later, on a counter-terrorism site, an over-rated “terrorism expert” claims to have discovered both Al Mabarrat Association, the Hezbollah charity, its U.S. affiliate Al Mabarat Charitable Organization, and donor Talal Chahine. But the terrorism-expert-with-no-clothing can’t even get the names of either organization right and, since he doesn’t speak or read Arabic (and apparently, not English, either), incorrectly claims the charity’s website is no longer online. It’s still there.
Culled from my May posts ( and ), here’s all the info you need on Al Mabarrat Association and its Dearborn, Michigan affiliate, Al Mabarat Charitable Organization:

While the IRS has a photo of Chahine with Hezbollah spiritual leader Mohammed Fadlallah, Chahine’s contributions were not directly to Hezbollah, but to Al Mabarrat Association. It has a Dearborn, Michigan affiliate Al Mabarat Charitable Organization (note the U.S. version uses one “r”, the Lebanese version–two “r”s). Al Mabarrat is clearly an open front for Hezbollah, and has Fadlallah’s photo on its website front and center. Despite that, U.S. Attorney and the IRS refuse to prosecute the U.S. branch of the charity for apparently violating the law and apparently donating the money to Hezbollah. And the State Department and Office of Foreign Assets Control and the Department of Treasury refuses to put either the Lebanese or American charity on the State Department terrorist list. On the contrary, the U.S. government allows it to operate and has licensed it as a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible organization, subsidized by American taxpayers.
And, by the way, , Chahine’s imam, Elahi, openly meets in Lebanon with Fadlallah all the time. Al Mabarat Charitable Organization’s Dearborn officers–Fouad T. Beydoun, Ahmad J. Bazzi, and Nazem Baydoun–are from families that all come from Bint Jbeil, the Hezbollah stronghold in the South of Lebanon. Al Mabarat Charitable Organization’s taxes show annual outlays of close to $1 million, but improperly fail to provide a separate schedule listing where the money went. Where is the money going?

It it interesting to note that the so-called “terrorism expert” who only just discovered these groups is praising FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge William Kowalski. As we’ve written, the calorically-gifted Kowalski is doing nothing (unless you count PR, which the “terrorism expert” apparently did) on the Hezbollah front. In fact, he’s running–paunch and all-to console Hezbollah money-launderers and defrauders and Hezbollah Mosques and pandering all around. Meanwhile, he’s sending his counter-terrorism agents to monitor League of Women’s Voters meetings. No joke. He actually did that.

Two weeks ago, American hero, , a brave U.S. soldier and Army National Guardsman, passed away–after 8 valiant months fighting to live. (I wrote about him , , and .)
The Michigan-based man was the last of several U.S. military victims of a terrorist IED targeted at the HumVee in which they were riding. Despite horrible burns over 75% of his body, he tried to salute President Bush when he visited his hospital room and established a scholarship to help others–even though he was in dire straits himself.
Tomorrow (Saturday) Morning is his funeral. Many readers in the Detroit area have asked me if it is a public service, and, indeed, it is. In fact, unfortunately, outside. If you live in the Detroit area, I recommend that you attend. The information, from Detroit News reporter Edward Cardenas, is:

A public memorial service will be held Saturday at Walled Lake Western High School’s football field for [Duane Dreasky,] a Michigan National Guard soldier who died from injuries suffered in Iraq. . . .

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Walled Lake Western High School Football Stadium, 600 Beck Road, Commerce Township.
Burial will be Tuesday in Arlington National Cemetery.

Just curious what Victoria’s Secret bras are selling for on the black market, these days.
Probably a lot, judging from the fact that a couple stole 192 of them from a Detroit area location of the store. (One wonders how they got that many bras out of the store without anyone noticing.) From today’s Detroit Spews:

Next time you see Assistant Homeland Security Secretary for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) a/k/a “The ICE Princess” on TV, don’t believe a word.
Whether its on FOX News or some other media outlet pandering to her every fallacious word, the chief immigration enforcement official in the nation keeps claiming she’s arresting and deporting alien criminals. But she isn’t. Just ask Maricopa County, Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio, and class-act Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas. She’s forcing them to release illegal alien coyotes (human smugglers).
While The ICE Princess was busy ) and getting visas for Lebanese babies (more about that below), she’s letting criminals out into the great American abyss, despite pleas from Arpaio and Thomas to deport those they’ve detained. Glad to see she has her priorities straight.

Since the first arrests made under Arizona’s human-smuggling law in March, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office has filed 268 cases, 31 against suspected coyotes and the rest against suspected conspirators assumed to be undocumented immigrants.
So far, 63 have pleaded guilty to lesser offenses, 15 have been dismissed, two acquitted and one convicted by a jury.
But 17 have walked right out of the jail and into the community – including six who pleaded guilty to human-smuggling felonies – because the U.S. Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency decided it wouldn’t transport out of the country people prosecuted under the controversial coyote law.
Instead, they slipped unnoticed through the red tape of a giant jail system and onto the streets.

The ICE Princess is mad that the people of Arizona dared pass a law stomping on her turf, that they’re doing the job she refuses to do. Hey, I think I’ve just discovered another “job Americans won’t do.” She is an American, right?
Hard to tell, based on her behavior. While she’s set illegal aliens criminals free and hanging with Lasorda, The ICE Princess spent ICE’s time and efforts on a far more important matter. Pursuant to a request from FOX News Channel’s Bill O’Reilly, she “worked all day” (ri-i-i-ight) to grant humanitarian “parole” to a Lebanese baby (born there).
Myers broke the rules and gave special treatment for American Lebanese (the Lebanese baby got an instant U.S. passport). For this, O’Reilly called her, “hero Julie Myers.” Pathetic. We’re sure she’ll get repaid with a pandering, slobbering interview, rife with more lies about “getting tough on illegal aliens.”
Back to Sheriff Joe and Andrew Thomas. Here’s what they have to say about the ICE Princess. We think it’s far more accurate than Bill O’Reilly’s uninformed utterance.
Arpaio:

“Why would they refuse to pick up the felons?” Sheriff Joe Arpaio asked. . . .
According to the Sheriff’s Office, there are an average of 900 to 1,000 prisoners in the jail at any one time with immigration detainers, or holds, indicating that ICE is to be contacted before they can be released. . . .
Arpaio claimed that 35 of the suspects charged with human-smuggling violations had immigration holds that were later removed [DS: by Myers’ ICE]. . . .
“Now we have to waste our manpower [to transport alien smugglers to the border],” Arpaio said. “I don’t have to do this. I can just let them go on the street. Who cares? Because they’re convicted felons. They deserve to go back to Mexico because a judge said they’re going back to Mexico. He didn’t say how.”

“ICE’s refusal to pick up and deport acknowledged illegal immigrants arrested by local law enforcement shows that the federal policy of ‘catch and release’ is still the order of the day,” he said. “The federal government’s continued unwillingness to perform its basic duty of securing our border makes Arizona’s human-smuggling law all the more important.”

Right on. I’m proud to know Thomas and was a speaker at an immigration conference he hosted in November 2005. At the conference, he spoke of a growing, significant percentage of illegal aliens who commit a large amount of the violent crimes he prosecutes in the Pheonix area. He was a longshot to win the race for Maricopa County Attorney, but he ran on the premise of stemming the illegal alien problem and won.
He understands this problem fatal to America and is one of many “American” Julie Myers won’t do. We only wish he, not the clueless valley girl from a Kansas mall, was running ICE. But, not to worry. Thomas, a rising star, is destined for even bigger things. Myers’ immigration “policy” should be destined for the trash dumpster, but isn’t.
Operation “Return to Sender”? Hardly. That title’s only appropriate if it means ICE gets to send The ICE Princess back to Kansas.

ICE: The Comedy That Keeps on Giving

Out of the big box office releases this weekend, two of them have one inane thing in common: the annoying, over-rated Wanda Sykes. Both “Clerks II” and “My Super Ex-Girlfriend” have bit parts played by Sykes, the very unfunny “comedienne” whose whole gig is race–a stereotypical one-woman minstrel show. No difference in her parts in these two movies, in which race comes into play. She adds nothing to either movie, which didn’t need her but put her in, anyway. On to the reviews:
* “Clerks II“–Read monument to the continued decline of American civilization.

* “My Super Ex-Girlfriend“–This looks like a chick-flick but isn’t (but for the ending). Guys and women, you will like this one. It’s funny, interesting, and new–even if the ending was a tad chick-flickish and cheesy. “Fatal Attraction” meets mousey “Wonder Woman” is the best way to describe it. Luke Wilson dates a psycho, jealous female super-hero played by Uma Thurman. He dumps the overly-needy woman and suffers “Fatal Attraction” tactics she perpetrates. Except, she has superpowers with which to commit the “Fatal Attraction” feats. Guys, if you ever had a psycho ex-girlfriend from hell, she was nothing compared to G-Girl. More proof that masculinized tough chicks and blurred gender roles aren’t exactly a great thing.
* “Lady in the Water“–The latest from very creative science fiction thriller writer/director M. Night Shyamalan is not the horror flick that TV trailers make it appear to be. That said, while not “scary,” the fairy tale thriller is novel, interesting, and very likeable (if at times the plot feels far-fetched and over the top). Charming, with beautiful cinematography.
The movie’s leads are coincidentally the progeny of real-life high achievers. The talented Paul Giamatti (son of the late Major League Baseball Commissioner and Yale President A. Bartlett Giamatti) is very convincing as a nervous apartment handyman–a former medical doctor whose life was broken when his family was murdered. He finds Bryce Dallas Howard (Ron Howard’s daughter), a nymph from another world, in the apartment complex swimming pool and must save her from certain death from monstrous interlopers. Her name is “Story,” referring to the plot that ultimately manifests itself: She is a character in a fairy tale story, and the apartment complex residents are, too.
What’s great about this movie is that it is a relaxing, escapist film without a heavy PC message or other Hollywood message, even though the movie deliberately features ethnic “diversity” in its cast and characters. Their portrayals are actually very un-PC and funny. The best is an annoying film critic, who gets his. The slackers–much like the losers you’d find in “” minus the depravity–are ridiculed, too. The sub-rosa spiritual/religious feel of the film is appealing to believers, too.
To sum up: “My Super Ex-Girlfriend” and “Lady in the Water”–Go. “Clerks II”–definitely NO GO! (It’s not worthy of even one penny of your ten bucks.)

Rick Bell’s column, “Sudden Citizens,” in today’s Calgary Sun makes exactly the same point that are over ther. Substitute the words “America” and “American” for “Canada” and “Canadian,” in his FANTASTIC, MUST-READ column:

I can hear those Canadians of convenience from all the way over in Beirut. Look at me, I’m a Canadian. Look, look, look at my passport. It says CANADA.
And so it does. The people I’m talking about are those passport holders who don’t live in Canada, don’t work in Canada, don’t pay taxes in Canada.
People who have freely chosen to pledge their primary if not sole allegiance to the flag with the cedar in the middle and not the maple leaf.
They are not tourists or emigres caught in the crossfire while on a temporary visit to the Middle East. They’re full-time Lebanese, voting with their feet. But now, when the doo-doo hits the fan, these Canadians of convenience are Canadians all the way. No. 1 citizens. True patriot love, glowing hearts, standing on guard and all that jazz.
And Canada … well, Canada is Canada. The Canadians who live here and pay taxes here and who see here as the place they want to call home not only let the Canadians of convenience hitch a ride out of the lunacy of Lebanon, they pay for it. You pay for it. We pay for it.
We do this because the individuals in question hold Canadian passports and the eggheads choking on their skim lattes say it would be shocking, appalling and insensitive to insist these people pay their own freight, even though they haven’t thrown any money into the pot covering the tab for this mass exodus, the biggest evacuation since Dunkirk in the Second World War and a bill expected to be in the hundreds of millions.
