While several liberal courts are striking down reasonable requirements to show ID at the polls, that requirement may not even help in the face of absurd, instant voter-registration laxities in some states.
When I attended the University of Wisconsin for Law and Business School, I voted once in the Presidential Election there. Wisconsin law allowed me to instantly register and vote there on Election Day.
That’s a problem. Ditto with Minnesota, which also has same day voter registration. In those states, even if you show ID, that won’t prevent voter fraud because there is no way to check if the ID is valid, if the person is the same one as on the ID, if they are a U.S. citizen, or if the person didn’t vote in multiple other precincts on the same day. All of these things are possible.

And that’s why the likelihood of massive voter fraud in places like Minnesota and Wisconsin is likely. And don’t expect the day when voters dip their fingers in permanent ink, Iraqi-style. The ACLU would be all over that. Bar bouncers can stamp you, but the federal government? Liberal do-gooder lawyers who want to prevent authentic, fraud-free elections wouldn’t hear of it.
Get rid of instant/same-day voter registration in elections in America. It’s the only way to get rid of some of this fraud.

Remember Sandra Day O’Connor? We’d like to forget the ex-Supreme Court Justice, a liberal who was nothing more than a Reagan affirmative action appointee (because she was a woman). And, besides, she set this bad trend of pretentious female Justices with three names: Sandra Day O’Connor, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Rosie O’Donnell Carpenter, Hillary Rodham Clinton, etc. Well, thankfully the last two will never be on the Court. But you get our drift.
Unfortunately, not content to ride off into the sunset, O’Connor keeps popping up. And spouting off. Today’s edition of the Sandy O’Connor Ex-files is about the elections. She’s upset that judges are under growing political attack:

Unhappiness with judges today is at a very intense level,

she told a gathering of state judges from around the country, Friday.

Well, guess what? Judges are increasingly political and activist–just like she was. So, they deserve to be under political attack.
O’Connor is dour over an interesting initiative on Tomorrow’s South Dakota ballot, the “Jail 4 Judges” initiative, which would create a citizens’ grand jury that could authorize lawsuits or criminal prosecutions against judges bassed on their rulings. She’s also whining about Colorado’s ballot initiative that would term-limit Superme Court Justices to 10 years in office
While we oppose any idea that expands the litigation explosion and lawsuit abuse, the “Jail 4 Judges” measure is an interesting idea, especially in a day and age where many states have checks and balances, including term limits, on every other branch of government, but the judiciary is usually for life, because lawyers are wont to run against their colleagues and lose (having to go before them in court afterward and likely prejudicing their clients). Judges have become increasingly imperious, arbitrary, and activist in their decisions, and there is no way to rein it in.
We do favor the term limits idea, and would like to see it applied to judges at the trial court level, too. The idea of judges for life is passe and not ideal to getting real justice.
It figures a lib dinosaur like O’Connor doesn’t want reform over our judicial process at the state level.

Well, apparently the fat farm to which he checked in didn’t work. So, instead of stopping his eating binges, the calorically well-endowed Michael Moore is feeding us BS. Hopefully, after tomorrow, the flabulous filmmaker can eat some crow.
You’d think, by now, that Moore and his liberal cronies would know that he doesn’t energize Democrats to vote. He energizes conservatives (like me) and Republicans to vote against him and his choices.

As good as things look for the Democrats, do not pop the corks and start the partying yet. Do not believe for a second that the Republicans plan on losing. They will fight like dogs for the next 24 hours — relentless, unforgiving, nonstop action to squeeze every last conservative voter out of the house on election day. While the rest of us go about our day today, tens of thousands of Republican volunteers are knocking on doors, making phone calls, and lining up rides to the polls. They’re not sleeping, they’re not eating, they’re not even watching Fox News. A day without Fox News? That’s right, that’s how insanely dedicated they are.
But the reason they have to work so hard is that, before they can get the vote out, they first have to completely turn around the massive public opinion against them. Almost 60% disapprove of Bush. Over 60% are opposed to the war. Those are landslide numbers. And the American people are not going to turn pro-war or into Bush-lovers by tomorrow morning. So it should be easy for us, right?
Yup. Just like it was when we won the popular vote in 2000 and when we were ahead in the exit polls all day long in 2004. You know the deal — the other side takes no prisoners. And just when it seems like things are going our way, the Republicans suddenly, mysteriously win the election.
Well, it’s not really that mysterious. They’re out there busting their asses this very minute, right down the street from you. What are YOU doing? You’re on a computer reading my cranky letter! Stop reading this! We have only a few hours left to wrestle control of the Congress away from these “representatives” who, if returned, will continue shipping our young men and women over there to die.
Here’s what I’m imploring you to do right now:
1. Go through your address book on your cell phone and computer and call/e-mail everyone you know. Tell them how much it would mean to you if they vote on Tuesday. If they don’t know where to vote, help them find their polling place.
2. Contact MoveOn.org ASAP. They will connect you to the folks who need you to make calls.
3. Contact your local Democratic Party headquarters. There are close races in nearly every state. They’ll put you to work — on the ground or on the phones. Or go to the local HQ for the Dem candidate running for the House of Representatives or the U.S. Senate and say, “Put me to work!”
OK, turn off the computer — and I will, too. There’s serious work to do. The good news? There’s more of us than there are of them. Let’s prove that, once and for all.
Is there anything more important that you have to do today? Nothing less than the rest of the world is depending on us.

Guess which Michigan candidates attended the annual banquet of the pro-HAMAS/Hezbollah Council of Islamic Organizations of Michigan (CIOM)? CIOM defends all Islamic homicide bombings and refuses to condemn them. CIOM also does not recognize Israel’s right to exist and insists that all of Israel is Muslim land.
So who attended CIOM’s dinner? Well, their party is the GOP. From the extremist Muslim Observer newspaper:

Detroit-October 29-About 800 people gathered at the Burton Manor convention center in Detroit for a celebration of the accomplishments of the largest pan-Islamic organization in Southeast Michigan, the Council of Islamic Organizations of Michigan (CIOM).
CIOM was celebrating its 20th annual banquet.

Michigan GOP U.S. Senate Candidate Mike Bouchard w/Extremist pro-Hezbollah/HAMAS Imam Hassan Qazwini

Present were many local and national-stature politicians, including Mike Bouchard, (Republican senatorial challenger to Senator Debbie Stabenow) and Attorney General Mike Cox. Governor Granholm was not present but sent a letter of support. Also present, as he has been consistently at local Muslim events for several months, was the local candidate for Probate Judge, Frank Szymanski. All of these politicians were welcomed to the event and invited to enjoy their dinner.

Oh, and by the way, the keynote speaker was Salam Al-Marayati, who–after the 9/11 attacks–was all over Los Angeles-area radio saying the Israelis were behind it. He defended Hezbollah’s murder of over 300 U.S. Marines and civilians. His wife, Dr. Laila Al-Marayati’s charity, KinderUSA, was shut down for funding HAMAS “martyrs.” Read more on the Al-Marayatis.

Federal Air Marshal Service (FAMS) sources exclusively told DebbieSchlussel.com that knives were found hidden on a Friday, October 27th Continental Airlines flight from Gatwick Airport in Britain to Newark Airport in New Jersey.
The knives hidden underneath seats in the First Class section of the flight were hidden in compartments underneath seats, the sources say, and included leathermen and folding buck knives. The knives were not found until the Newark destination was reached. It appears the hiding of the knives may have been part of a dry run.
Incredibly, the sources say, Continental personal refused to give the knives to Federal Air Marshals aboard the flight. So much for cooperating in the War on Terror (not to mention the safety of their passengers).
And so much for the silly, ineffective rules requiring 3-oz liquids in a 1-quart zip-top bag. Apparently, screeners are so busy looking for those, they missed the knives. And we are hardly safe.

If you’re stuck taking kids to the movies, this weekend, you have the pick of the new flicks. As for the other two, it’s anti-American all the way:
* “Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan“–Pretentious Hebrew-speaking British comedian and Madonna-friend poses as Kazakhstan journalist to ridicule Red State America, taking advantage of the kindness of Americans. Mostly sick, far less funny than “Da Ali G Show.” Remember, the rest of the world is laughing at us, and with Borat/Sacha Baron Cohen. Read my complete review, “‘Borat’: The Joke’s on You, America.”

* “Babel“–If you wanted an escapist film to help you forget your problems, this ain’t it. Dreadful, disturbing and full of angst, watching this long propaganda piece, starring Brad Pitt, will stress you out. It figures the message of a movie starring Mr. Angie Voight (a/k/a Angelina Jolie) would be as anti-American as this. The message: Muslims & Illegal Aliens–Good; Americans & Other Westerners– Selfishly, Atrociously Bad. Oh, and Deaf Japanese girls like to show you their naked crotches and are desperately easy and suicidal.
The plot (if you can call it that): Two innocent, rural Moroccan Muslim boys accidentally shoot an American tourist in a tour bus. This starts the whole world and the U.S. into a tizzy about a Muslim terrorist attack, when it’s just two innocent young boys who are bored and playing target practice with a rifle. The woman and her husband, Pitt, are wealthy San Diegans with two beautiful blonde kids being raised by their kindly, hard-working, nourishing illegal alien Mexican housekeeper.
The couple are selfish, self-absorbed and going through marital problems because their third kid just died of SIDS. Desperate to survive in rural Morocco, they are helped by all the kindly, generous-hearted, non-extremist Muslims in the mountains of Morocco who help them survive and won’t even accept a penny from them, while the U.S. Embassy and State Department won’t help them because of politics (about the only think realistic in this entire movie). Contrast the kindly, non-prejudiced Moroccans portrayed in the movie with the fact that, this week, a Moroccan won Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s Holocaust cartoon contest.
They are so selfish, they ask their kindly illegal alien maid to miss her son’s wedding to take care of their kids. But, instead, the illegal alien maid takes the kids to her son’s wedding in Mexico, but through a series of bad incidents, no fault of her own, she and the kids are harassed by those mean, prejudiced Customs and Border Protection officers at the border, while trying to get back in the States. Then, they’re harassed by those mean, prejudiced Border Patrol Agents in the desert. Then, even though the maid has lived in the U.S. for 16 years and raised the blonde, rich kids, she is deported by our mean Immigration and Customs Enforcement Detention and Removal Operations (maybe it was DRO sachem John Torres in the movie?).
Woven in and out of the story is the bizarre, depressing story of the desperate Japanese teenage deaf girl who enjoys displaying her crotch a la Sharon Stone. Did I really need to see her crotch? Not really.
Best part of the movie (other than when it ended): a cool Japanese remix of Earth Wind & Fire’s “September.” But certainly not worth sitting through this 2-hour anti-Western, anti-American, pro-illegal alien, pro-Islamist bore.

* “Flushed Away“–This animated movie is the pick of this week’s box office litter (and the choices, literally, are litter). A great movie for kids that adults will enjoy, complete with mild rock tunes in the mix. This was dreamed up by Dreamworks’ brilliant Jeffrey Katzenberg, whom I had the opportunity to meet, this summer, when parts of the movie were shown at a special screening. I thought it was cool that he, himself, traveled around to promote his project to audiences of average Americans (and their kids) in Middle America.
An English pet mouse of a rich family gets flushed down the toilet into a nether parallel international universe in the sewer system. Very charming. Mostly English accents, though.

So, the Republicans were accused by the New York Times (and other mainstream media outlets) of lying about WMD, Saddam Hussein’s record, and assorted other things about Iraq.
Under the pressure, the GOP members of Congress insisted on posting documents captured in Iraq. And now the NYTimes is blaming the GOP for posting the docs, saying it helps Iran in their nuclear weapons quest? Is this the GOP’s fault . . . or the NYTimes and the rest of the liberal media’s fault? Just asking.

Then, there’s the other issue:
The New York Times doesn’t have a problem endangering our national security and helping terrorists by posting front page info on the SWIFT bank transfer surveillance program, NSA surveillance and wiretaps, etc.
Yet, when the GOP Congress posts documents capture in Iraq, THEY are blamed by the NYTimes for endangering our national security and helping terrorists, by accidentally disclosing nuclear info to Iran?
We suppose if you are the “newspaper of record” and deliberately hurt America, it’s okay. But if you’re the Republican-dominated Congress and do it by accident, then it’s a prob.
Nice twisted logic.

Two Michigan religious minorities–Muslims and Jews–are playing an interesting role in the state’s Gubernatorial election, next week. It’s a lesson in how legitimizing extremists can come back to bite the legitimizers. And how pandering politicians will do anything for a vote, even if it means sucking up to extremist terrorism supporters and agents–how politicians are willing to sell their souls to those who stand by the Hezbollah murder of over 300 U.S. Marines and civilians.
During the summer’s war between Israel and Hezbollah, Osama Siblani was vocal and steadfast in his praise of the “Hezbollah martyrs.” At a rally in front of the Dearborn City Hall, he asked protesters to have a moment of silence for them, “the heroes.” He was identified a few months ago as an agent of Hezbollah by Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Seyassah. Siblani, editor and publisher of the Arab American News, is a Shi’ite Muslim from Lebanon.

Jewish community leaders–who’ve constantly feted this man over the years–were taken aback by Siblani’s comments. But the remarks are nothing new from anything he’s ever said or written. His newspaper consistently celebrates HAMAS, Hezbollah, and once ran a cover story honoring Louis Farrakhan’s birthday. Yet, over the years, Detroit Jewish leaders–who bend over backwards so much, you’d think they’re limbo champs–repeatedly broke pita with Mr. Siblani and, ultimately, legitimized him. Arthur Horwitz, leftist publisher of the Detroit Jewish News, had regular lunch meetings with Siblani. His editor, Bob Sklar, constantly featured Siblani’s quotes and statements in an approving way, including a special Jewish News feature featuring the voice of Arabs and Muslims right after 9/11.
But something happened during this summer’s war against Lebanon. Horwitz and Sklar were suddenly shocked–shocked!–by Siblani’s pro-Hezbollah comments. Apparently, they were temporarily awakened from their slumber by their less left-wing readers. Enter Michigan’s close gubernatorial race, to be decided on Tuesday.
Siblani also heads the Arab American Political Action Committee, a Muslim-dominated organization of questionable influence. AAPAC’s Secretary, Lola Elzein, sent me death threats and threatened to rape, torture, and murder me, my parents, and grandparents. She also denied the Holocaust. Siblani endorses all of this, and Elzein remains an officer of his PAC. And, so, apparently, does the Detroit Jewish News, which has refused to cover the story.
In early September, Michigan Republican gubernatorial challenger Dick DeVos was scheduled to meet with Siblani’s Arab American PAC. Jewish News editors feigned outrage about this man, Siblani, whom they, themselves, elevated to respectable status. They editorialized against the meeting citing Siblani’s comments. And DeVos cancelled the meeting. Not so fast. Siblani and his Islamofascist compatriots whined about the meeting, and under pressure from crotchety, moral equivalency-touting Detroit talk show host Frank Beckmann (who loves to kiss the rear of Siblani and “former” Islamic terrorist Imad Hamad on the air), DeVos met with them after all.
It’s not that Siblani and friends changed their views on terrorism and Hezbollah. It’s just that DeVos wants their votes, as does his opponent, Michigan Democratic Governor Jennifer Granholm. And both are willing to whore themselves out to these Hezbollah supporters to win. And it’s that Jewish News officials who legitimized terror agent and supporter Siblani for years woke up too late. Their half-assed protests were too little, too late, too insincere given their record.
Last spring, Rabbi Bunni Friedman–who fancies himself a political kingmaker in Detroit’s Orthodox Jewish community and stunned fellow members of his community by opposing Ward Connerly’s efforts to end affirmative action discrimination in Michigan–invited Orthodox and traditional Jews to his home to meet and ask DeVos questions about his race for governor. The e-mail invitation included a picture of DeVos in front of the Kotel, the Western Wall of the Jewish temple in Jerusalem.
At the event, DeVos spoke of his trip to Israel and his visit to the Kotel. But when it came to issues having to do with terrorism and Israel, the picture was a fraud. DeVos wasn’t having any of it, and his speech stuck to repealing Michigan’s Small Business Tax. He didn’t want to take any questions. But I asked them, anyway. DeVos waffled on questions regarding Israel and the State of Michigan, with his friend Rabbi Friedman trying to silence the questions. One of those questions was about ACCESS, the Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services.
Because Michigan has the most concentrated Muslim population outside of the Middle East, the state has become a microcosm of Islamist influence. Arab agencies catering to Muslims and endorsing divestment from Israel get millions in funding from the state.
That includes ACCESS. It was a sponsor of the 2002 Divestment Conference at the University of Michigan. Its federal job-training money apparently went to fund commercial driving lessons for members of an Al-Qaeda terrorist cell. And ACCESS opposed adding Hezbollah–and other Islamic terror groups–to the State Department Terrorist List. Its Arab American National Museum features several anti-Israel exhibits. ACCESS’ offices were raided by the FBI in 2002 because the agency was involved in enabling pregnant Muslim foreigners to get Medicaid to have their babies delivered in the United States.
DeVos and his wife Betsy, former Chair of the Michigan Republican Party, were honored guests at ACCESS’ 35th anniversary banquet, this year. (ACCESS chief and founder Ismael Ahmed was a Howard Dean Delegate to the 2004 Democratic National Convention and ran Jesse Jackson’s Michigan Presidential campaign.) When I asked him, DeVos refused to declare that he will not give state funds to organizations that support Hezbollah or divestment from Israel.
DeVos’ opponent, Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm, is tight with ACCESS, too. She was Michigan’s Attorney General at the time ACCESS was being investigated by her office. Yet, she named ACCESS’ chief and founder, Ismael Ahmed, as Chair of her transition team, not long after the FBI raids. And she’s appointed ACCESS officials to various State committees and commissions.
I asked DeVos whether he opposed divesting the State of Michigan’s assets from companies that do business with Israel, something his friends at ACCESS and the Arab American PAC are pushing. He hemmed and hawed and finally said he opposed divestment, promising to put a statement to that effect on his website, so his Islamist friends would see it. To date–just a few days before the election–the promised statement has never been posted.
Maybe someone will remind these two–Granholm and DeVos–that Michigan is in the Middle West, not the Middle East. Until then, the pandering to extremist Muslims will continue in Michigan politics.
And soon–very soon–the rest of America.

So, you’re a tough law-and-order sheriff running for the U.S. Senate. Your opponent is a liberal incumbent, and you’re running as a family values conservative. But you’re trailing by more than ten percentage points in the polls, and there are only a few days left.
What do you do? Well, if you’re Mike Bouchard, the Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate in Michigan, you show what a phony you are on family values, crime, and everything else by sinking to inviting rapper Kid Rock to campaign for you. At 7:00 p.m. tonight, Kid Rock a/k/a Bob Ritchie a/k/a Mr. Pamela Anderson is scheduled to headline a rally for Bouchard at the Royal Oak Music Theatre in suburban Detroit.
But here’s Kid Rock’s trashy record:

* Crime: Rock/Ritchie has repeatedly told the world that he modeled himself after convicted, imprisoned Detroit drug kingpin “White Boy Rick” a/k/a Richard Wershe, Jr., with his fur coats and pimp hats.
Wershe ran one of the most notorious drug rings in America in the 1980s. He ordered the murder of countless people. Kid Rock glorifies Wershe in his lyrics and wrote a letter on his behalf to authorities in an attempt to get Wershe paroled. Thankfully, Wershe was not paroled, and soon after, he was discovered to have been running a national auto theft ring from his prison cell, for which he’s since been convicted.
* Drugs and Family Values: Kid Rock is an admitted former drug dealer, but he still speaks glowingly of doing drugs. He gleefully raps about his life as a drug dealer, doing crack, and having sex in a school bathroom with the fellow drug dealer who had his out-of-wedlock kid. (It’s not like he had to be this way. He comes from a wealthy family. His father sold his lucrative Ford dealership for millions. The whole trailer park thing is an act.) He had to go to court to stop the circulation of a video of him and another rock star getting oral sex from groupies on tour.
Glorifying hard drugs and misogyny are themes in a lot of his most popular “songs.” He used to “date” porn stars, and they and strippers are a constant accessory on his tours. Don’t forget what he told Rolling Stone:

Bill Clinton … a [expletive] pimp. … The guy’s my hero.

(He told the mag he was stoned on drugs when he met Clinton at the White House.)
Ritchie–the self-proclaimed “Pimp of the Nation”–likes to give the one-finger salute in every publicity shot and toured the country in his “White Trash on Dope Tour.” He used the Michigan chapter of crime-prone “Outlaw Biker Gang” as security at a video shoot.
You may recall that Kid Rock was scheduled to perform at the 2005 Bush Presidential Inaugural festivities, because the Bush daughters are fans. But his invitation was rescinded amidst protests from conservatives with some common sense. Apparently, Bouchard has no such compunctions.

There really is no difference between Kid Rock and the most perverted Black rap “artists.”
If Kid Rock were Black, we’d call him Snoop Dogg.
And that’s the problem with critics of Black rappers and hip hop (both of which do deserve to be criticized), like Bouchard and Bill O’Reilly. They rightly attack the pimp/drug dealer glorifying culture of hip-hop and rap. But they don’t seem to have a problem when white rappers, like Kid Rock, do the same thing. In fact, O’Reilly said Rock is “a friend of the show.” Some have cited a trip he made to visit the troops in Iraq. So, I guess that means his lyrics and behavior are okay.
Sorry, they aren’t okay. And you don’t need to be a prude to recognize that. Call Mike Bouchard to the carpet on this one, and ask him why he’s such a phony.
You may be for family values and getting tough on criminals and drugs, but with Kid Rock headlining his campaign event, clearly Mike Bouchard doesn’t share your values.
