Shocker: Jodie Foster Outs Herself

By Debbie Schlussel
Gee, whatta surprise. Far-left actress Jodie Foster–who recited the high-brow work of poet laureate Eminem at a U-Penn graduation rant against America; who praised Nazi propagandist Leni Riefenstahl; who defended Mel Gibson’s anti-Semitism; who defamed flight attendants and federal air marshals as terrorist hijackers–has made it official:

After guarding her private life fiercely for 15 years, Hollywood actress Jodie Foster has publicly acknowledged her lesbian partner.
The Oscar-winning actress thanked “my beautiful Cydney” after winning an award at the Women in Entertainment Power 100 breakfast in Los Angeles.

jodiefoster.jpg

She went on to praise Cydney Bernard, saying the film producer “sticks with me through all the rotten and the bliss.”

Not that there’s anything wrong with that. . . .
Normally, I’d say “TMI” (Too Much Info). But, in this case, it’s more like, “Who cares?” After 2,366 pantsuits, 150 pairs of “sensible” shoes, and two deliberately father-less sons, who’d ever have guessed?
Waiting for Hillary Rodham Cankles to follow suit.

These Would Never Make It On Post-9/11 Islamo-Pandering American TV

By Debbie Schlussel
When I was in college, David Letterman was still on after “The Tonight Show.” And he was still funny. Both of those things are no longer in play. And I liked watching his show, a third thing no longer in play.
My dad bought me two books of David Letterman Top Ten Lists. In thumbing through them, I was amazed at what was allowed on TV before 9/11, which would never–nevuh evuh–make it on the air today in the days of CAIR/MPAC/ADC/ISNA/MSA/MAS and the pandering media who whitewash Islam. That we would never hear these today is a sign of how pan-Islamist PC we’ve gotten.
David Letterman would never utter these today. And if he did, lots of firings would happen. There would be plenty of those “Behead Those Who Insult Islam” riots in the streets. And Letterman would be issuing an apology and hosting a funny Muslim comedians week (meaning the show would be off the air for a week).

davidlettermantoptenlistbook.jpg

The books are “The Late Night With David Letterman Book of Top Ten Lists,” published in 1990, and “Roman Numeral Two: An Altogether New Book of Top Ten Lists,” published in 1991. I’ve posted the funnier ones and those that are the most un-PC (many of those are not funny). Most stand the test of time, some don’t. Bush’s “Democratic” Extremist Iraq: Policewomen Ordered to Turn in Guns, Sent to Desk Duty

By Debbie Schlussel
After American spent gazillions of your tax dollars in training Iraqi women to use guns and patrol the streets as police officers, the extremist Shi’ite government of Iraq decided to make that spending yet another complete waste.
Last month, the Iraqi government–you know the one that Bush claimed, in his silly, fatal democracy experiment, would treat women with respect and restore human rights–ordered all women serving in its police forces to turn over their guns for redistribution to men and reassigned all of these women to desk duty. Hmmm . . . so why did we waste all of this money training them to shoot and patrol streets? Judging from the picture in the news story, I’m not so sure this is the kind of police force–in the full ninja Islamic chick outfit–that we had in mind. But still, this is yet more proof that giving the Iraq sector of Greater Barbaria “democracy” was yet another exercise in HAMASHezbollahMuslimBrotherhoodKhomeiniSadr idiocy.

iraqipolicewomen.jpg

And–surprise!–not a peep from the Gloria Steinems, Martha Burks, and assorted other looks-challenged feministas in the angry American chicks crowd. How long ’til it becomes a Shi’ite replica of Saudia Arabia where women can’t drive? Counting the seconds. Allahu Akbar:

The Iraqi government has ordered all policewomen to hand in their guns for redistribution to men or face having their pay withheld, thwarting a U.S. initiative to bring women into the nation’s police force.
The Interior Ministry, which oversees the police, issued the order late last month, according to ministry documents, U.S. officials and several of the women. It affects all officers who have earned the title “policewoman” by graduating from the police academy. It does not apply to men in the same type of jobs.
Critics say the move is the latest sign of the religious and cultural conservatism that has taken hold in Iraq since Saddam Hussein’s ouster ushered in a government dominated by Shiite Muslims. Now, that tendency is hampering efforts to bring stability to Iraq by driving women from the force, said U.S. Army Brig. Gen. David Phillips, who has led the effort to recruit female officers.
“We nursed it along,” he said last week, referring to the recruiting effort. . . . Without policewomen, Phillips said, there will be no officers to give pat-down searches to female suspects, even though women have joined the ranks of suicide bombers in Iraq. Last week, a female bomber killed at least 16 people north of Baghdad, at least the fifth such attack in Iraq this year.
Another U.S. advisor noted that forcing out female officers will hamper investigation of crimes such as rape, which stigmatizes women in Iraq, because few victims feel comfortable reporting it to policemen.
Policewomen say the decree also will leave them unable to protect themselves at work or off duty. Scores of police employees, both officers and administrative workers, have been killed by insurgents. Men and women have traditionally been allowed to carry their Glock pistols with them after hours for security.
“We are considered policewomen. We face kidnapping. We could be assassinated. If anyone knew where we worked, of course they would try to do something to us,” said a 27-year-old interviewed Sunday.
“How can I be a policewoman without a weapon?” she asked incredulously as three female colleagues nodded in agreement. [DS: I ask the same thing about those silly people in strange uniforms in England. Clubs and night sticks don’t get it done.]
They, and Phillips, said the pistol recall was the latest in a series of moves that has limited most policewomen to desk jobs. The few who have worked on the streets have been reassigned to administrative tasks.
Iraqi law still prevents policewomen from advancing to commanding-officer levels. Phillips said women have complained to him about limited opportunities and harassment by male colleagues.
U.S. trainers began recruiting women in early 2004 and were so swamped with applicants that they had to turn many away. By the end of that year, about 1,000 women had graduated. Since U.S. authorities handed over responsibility for police recruitment and training to Iraqi authorities in February 2006, Phillips said, the number of female recruits has dropped to virtually zero.
A handful of policewomen are working in western Al Anbar province after graduating from the academy in October, but Phillips said they were recruited, trained and paid with U.S. funds under a program not recognized by the Iraqi government.
“When we stop paying, they stop getting paid,” Phillips said.

How much did we waste on this? What’s the dollar figure?

Phillips, who works closely with Interior Ministry officials, said he got wind of the latest move to rein in female officers last month. When he questioned the plan, Phillips said, he was told by one ministry official: “Females are taken care of by men in this country. They are not out there being police officers.”

Yes, they are, indeed, “taken care of.” Honor killings, forced honor “suicides,” female terrorists and homicide bombers, jihadi soldier baby-making factories, muta’aeen [temporary marriages for sex, the women get nothing after instant divorce; it’s a shi’ite practice that was outlawed under Saddam and is now all the rage], human punching bags, one of four wives, etc. Yup, taken car of.

The ministry has been “whittling away step by step” at the initiative launched by U.S. troops in late 2003, Phillips said.
Attempts to get a ministry official to explain the weapons order were unsuccessful. The official spokesman did not respond to telephone messages. . . .
Men who hold office jobs at the ministry are being allowed to keep their weapons, the women added.
There are more than 8,600 Glock pistols, the standard police-issued sidearm, in the main weapons warehouse in Baghdad, he said. An additional 120,000 are due to arrive in the coming months, he said.

Gee, who’s paying for those Glocks? Let me guess. Take out your wallets, my fellow Americans.

The impact of the growing religious influence on Iraqi women has manifested itself in other ways as well. In the southern city of Basra, police say religious militants this year have killed dozens of women who did not cover their hair or dress modestly. In Baghdad, once a secular metropolis, it is rare to see women without scarves covering their hair. Women’s activists say the new constitution clears the way for Islamic rule by guaranteeing individuals the right to decide domestic and family issues according to religious traditions.
The U.S. attempt to recruit female police officers faced hurdles from the start. Phillips said that although hundreds of women have gone through the police academy and performed as well as, if not better than, men, few have been given assignments outside the office.

Your tax dollars at work, er . . . desk duty.

Despite the ministry order, the women said they would not hand in their weapons. If their pay is withheld at the end of the month, they plan to stage a protest.
They added that they were counting on U.S. authorities to back them up and force the ministry to back off.
Phillips, though, said U.S. officials have limited options.
“It’s a sovereign nation. We turned over the running of their own police force to them,” he said. “We don’t have a veto.”

Yes, so sovereign, they need us to endlessly bankroll them and keep “order” on their streets. Otherwise, it is total chaos. After everything we’ve done for these people, that we don’t have a “veto” over this BS is absurd. Think that’ll change in 20 years of us being there? Think again–you don’t know Islam.
On the lighter side, this whole idea wouldn’t even be a good idea at the highest levels of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in the U.S. ICE’s incompetent female “leadership” of Julie L. Myers and Marcy Forman-Friedman are basically at full-time desk duty (killing more than their fair share of trees issuing repeated puff press releases), anyway, and they never use guns–they just make life miserable for those in their agency who do.
Anyway, I’ve been repeatedly screaming that handing democracy to the religion of headchoppers simply will never work in our favor. It will only solidify extremism.
And this is yet more proof. But no surprise.
Did I support going into Iraq? Yes. Did I support staying there and giving them “democracy”? Hell, no. I supported getting in, removing Saddam, turning over the country to a Shah-esque, pro-U.S. dictator and getting out. Had we done that, Bush would be a hero. Barbarians cannot handle democracy. It only hurts America when they get it.
But instead of facing this fact, Bush–as we know–is into this whole “Islam is peace” and needs democracy BS. And that’s why we have stories like this.

Condi Clueless/Annapolis PhotoShop of the Week

By Debbie Schlussel
Like I’ve been saying, Secretary of State and clueless one, Condoleezza Rice, supports apartheid and redlining in Israel. She refuses to allow Jews to live in certain neighborhoods, kinda like they did in neighborhoods here to Condi’s people when she was a kid.
It’s illegal here. It should be illegal there. But, instead, it’s U.S. policy in exchange for “peace”, er . . . piece of paper and pieces of humans.
But it’s the crown “jewel” of the Annapolis “process”. And this photoshop by Esbiem of The Esbiem Photorium says it all. It’s worth more than the proverbial thousand words:

condiannapolis.jpg

Over the weekend, Condi Clueless denounced Israel’s dimwitted Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert, because he announced that Jews were building a few hundred homes in Jerusalem, the capital of the Jews. Rice said, “Uh, uh, no-no. Jews cannot live in East Jerusalem.”
So, of course, with the marshmallow spine he has, Olmert said, “Okay, whatever you want Giveret [Ms.] Condi Clueless. Thank you, Madam. May I lick your feet.” So, now, no Jews allowed in the historic capital of the Jewish People. Only terrorists allowed.
But here’s the thing. Thousands of Jews are living eternally in East Jerusalem. They’ve been resting in “peace” in graves all over the Old City a/k/a East Jerusalem. I put peace in quotation marks because, under Jordanian control, Palestinian Muslims drilled holes into Jewish graves (they are built above ground because the ground is hard) on the Holy Mount of Olives and urinated into them. And, like their Nazi buds, they took Jewish tombstones and made sidewalks out of them on the Mount of Olives. And they built the Jerusalem Intercontinental Hotel on top of Jewish graves on the Mount of Olives.
David’s Mount of Olives in David’s City. Was David a Palestinian Muslim? What religion was he? I forget.
That holy Mount and the holiest of Jewish sites, the Temple, and its Western Wall, and the Temple Mount, are all in East Jerusalem.
No Jews Allowed?! Condi, did you like, “No Blacks Allowed?” Didn’t think so. Well, guess what? We Jews don’t like it either.
**** UPDATE: In a very well-written piece, my friend, Michael Freund of The Jerusalem Post, echoes my post of last week on this same subject.

Kurt Waldheim, The Sequel: Austrian Prez Hangs with HAMAS Terrorist

By Debbie Schlussel
One of my favorite European blogs is Tundra Tabloids by KGS. It features news on the Middle East, Islamists, etc. that you won’t find elsewhere.
Today, KGS sends me this story (which he hasn’t yet posted on his site) from Austria.
Rememer Kurt Waldheim? The former Austrian President, who died earlier this year, was a Nazi and participated in Nazi atrocities while he was in the Wehrmacht. Well, it seems the current Austrian President, Heinz Fischer, is trying to out-Waldheim Waldheim by honoring the new Nazis taking over Europe.
Sicherheite-Heute reports that Fischer shook hands with and welcomed Palestinian Islamic terrorist Adel Doghman. Doghman hosts youth camps for children of HAMAS officials and raises money for the terrorist group–financing its murderous activities. And there’s a pic of Fischer and Doghman together, too. Here’s the translation of the German article on S-H, courtesy of Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff.

austrianprezheinzfischeradeldoghman.jpg

Austrian Prez Heinz Fischer with HAMAS Terrorist Adel Doghman

It has echoes of the story I broke in 2001 about President Bush hanging with terrorist Sami Al-Arian on the campaign trail and other stories about terror suspects Bush has hosted at Iftar dinners:

Terror Suspects Shakes Hands with Austrian President
By Stefan Beig
November 24, 2007
This handshake (between the Austrian president and terror suspect Adel Doghman) has caused major irritation in the Austrian political landscape. And it‚Äôs not the first controversial handshake either. In December 1975, the former Austrian minister of interior shook hands with terrorist Carlos at Vienna’s airport. Ten years later, a minister of defense welcomed a Nazi war criminal back to Austria.
However, it is not yet certain whether those officially invited by Austrian President Heinz Fischer, Chancellor Alfred Gusenbauer, and Vienna mayor Michael Haeupl are terrorists. It is a fact, though, that the ministry of interior has filed charges of terrorism.
On November 7, MPs from the Austrian People’s Party asked Chancellor Gusenbauer for clarifying information about Adel Abdallah Doghman (Abu-al-Baraa), which so far has not been provided. They wanted to know why Austria officially invited known terror suspects. Doghman is Lebanese, an Islam teacher, and a regular guest at annual “Iftar” gathering sponsored by the Austrian political leadership.
Doghman is no stranger to the FBI and the public. In 2003, President Bush termed the PVO (Palastinensische Vereinigung in Osterreich; Austrian Palestinian Association) a part of the European terror network. Doghman was a co-founder. The money donated to the PVO apparently were not collected for humanitarian purposes but to finance Hamas projects in Gaza.
A detailed FBI report identifies Doghman together wth Islam teacher Hani Abdelhalim, medical doctor Usamah Shumriyah, Al Hajj Salih Tartusi, Hani Ibrahim, and Iyad Fathi as prominent Hamas supporters in Austria.
PVO accounts were frozen in 2003, the ministry of interior filed charges against Adel Doghman and Hani Abdelhalim on terror suspicions
. In 2003, the homepage www.no-racism.net featured a press release by PVO, which denied “any connection with political or religious groups in Palestine. We are focusing on the needy, especially orphans.”
There has not been an indictment so far. In 2005, the interior ministry gave an all-clear in the matter: the accusations could not be verified. The interior ministry spokesman admitted that nothing had happened due to lack of evidence. The PVO was very confident already in their 2003 press release: “In the end, we are grateful to the Austrian government for its adherence to the rule of law. We very much appreciate their stance.”
In July 2007, new turbulences appeared when Ahmed Hamed, the correspondent of the Palestinian news agency, Wafa, said in an interview with an Austrian newspaper (“Wiener Zeitung”, Vienna Newspaper), “Hamas is presentable in Austria. The leaders of the Islamic Religious Association in Austria are helping hands in the background.” Money is collected for the purchase of weapons. Austrian politicans are not unaware, but inactive. The Islamic Religious Association rejected all accusations, however, there is something to be said about the allegations.
As a teacher of Islamic religious studies in a small town near Vienna, Adel Doghman receives his salary from the Austrian state. All appointments of teachers are made by the Islamic Religious Association. Doghman has been living in Austria since 1991, but grew up in a Lebanese refugee camp. He was registered as PVO chairman until 2006.
Unnoticed by the public, the public prosecutor’s office reindicted Doghman and Abdelhalim in spring 2007. On March 6, the prosecutor transferred the file to the court in Vienna. According to Palestinian witnesses, house searches also took place shortly thereafter.
In the meantime, criminal proceedings are underway “for the formation of terrorist association”. The law says, “Whoever participates in a terrorist association can be penalized for one to ten years.”
In 2003, the year that saw PVO on the FBI terror list, the Palestinian Humanitarian Association – Austria (PHV) was founded. According to the FBI, PHV continued all of PVO’s charity activities. Adel Doghman’s colleague, Hani Abdelhalim, is PHV’s chairman. It is hard to believe that Doghman has nothing to do with PHV. On October 28, 2006, Doghman sent a thank you note in the name of PHV from his own PVO e-mail account.
PHV lists well known Hamas organizations such as “Zakat Committees” and the “Al-Salah Islamic Committee” in Gaza as recipients of donations. In 2006, PHV collected 140.135 euros during Ramadan, of which 41.135 euros were transferred to the Al Salah Committee, which in turn had already received approximately 30 percent of all donations.
“Hamas uses Al Salh to finance its terror program,” explains Adam Szubin from the “Office of Foreign Assets Control” on August 7, 2007. Al Salah is considered one of the largest and best financed Hamas insitutions. Al Salah sponsored Hamas fighters during the first intifadah. Al Salah recruited teenagers and indoctrinated and prepared them for support operations for Hamas.
In addition to PHV and PVO new organizations with new names have recently surfaced in Austria. On October 6, 2007, the “8th Benefit Evening for Orphans in Palestine” took place in a hotel in Vienna. The event was sponsored by the “Coordination Forum to Support Palestine” and the “Austrian Arab Union”.
The invitiations, however, were sent out from Doghman’s PVO e-mail address. Along with Adel Doghman and Hani Abdelhalim, the leadership of the Islamic Religious Association was also present that evening: President Anas Shakfeh and his assistant, Mouddar Khouja. According to journalist Ahmed Hamed, Hamas supporters are hiding behind new aliases. He adds that money for the Gaza Strip was also collected in the hotel in Vienna.
Doghman is very active: He organized the “First European Palestinian Youth Camp” in Vienna, which took place in March 2007. More than 100 teenagers from Austria, Germany, Sweden, Netherlands, Great Britain, France, and Italy took part. Most of the youthful campers are part of well known Hamas families.
The camp ended with a joint lunch with members of the cultural association “Liga Kultur”, which, according to Thomas Schmidinger, an expert in Islam, is managed by the Syrian Muslim Brotherhood. Critics believe the purpose of the youth meeting to have been the establishment of a Hamas Youth Network. As one of the few adults present, Palestinian doctor Ibrahim Hamami – traveling from London – visited to the camp. Hamami is a well-known Hamas-activist.
Austrian politicians apparently quickly forgot about the indictments against Doghman and Abdelhalim. On the other hand, ceremonious Iftar dinners with hundreds of Muslims invited have become a tradition. Vienna mayor Michael Hauepl invited Muslims for an Iftar dinner for the first time in 2003. A large room in city hall was transformed into a temporary prayer room.
Iftar dinners have been taking place at the seat of the Austrian president. “This reception is not to be taken for granted. This can happen only in Austria,” says Anas Shakfeh, the president of the Islamic Religious Association in Austria, during the latest Iftar dinner with Austrian president Heinz Fischer on October 16, 2007.
On October 18, 2007, the Austrian chancellor, Alfred Gusenbauer, invited Muslims for Iftar for the first time. This ceremony emphasizes the special status of Muslims in Austria, Gusenbauer said. President Shakfeh dismissed the demand the religious minorities in Muslim countries should enjoy the same freedoms in religion and belief demanded by Muslims in Austria. It is unnatural to compare the situation of minorities in Muslim countries with that of the Muslim minorities in Europa in order to determine the extent of freedom of a minority in Europe according to the basis of reciprocity.
Omar Al-Rawi, the representative for integration of the Islamic Religious Association and member of the Vienna city council, led the efforts for the institution of the new iftar tradition in Vienna. The Arab website www.ramadan2.biz thanked Al-Rawi in September 2007 “for his outstanding efforts in organizing the Iftar dinner in the federal chancellory, and for his role in building bridges between the Muslim minority in the country as well as the Austrian political and media elite and the political parties.”
The fact that terror suspects have been invited to Iftar dinners for the last years went uncommented by Al-Rawi. So far no statements have been offered to counter the accusations. The authorities are refusing any comments as to why the Austrian state invites people as honored guests who the state itself suspects of terrorism.
“The invitation list was put together with the help of the Islamic Religious Association and its president, Anas Shakfeh”, the presidential spokesman says. Guests of the president are simply not commented on. The ministry of interior did not respond whether Austrian politicians were informed about the criminal proceedings prior to the Iftar dinner.
Austria’s status as a neutral country was helpful to many interests during the Cold War. Great powers as well as radical groups took advantage of the neutral ground to hold strategic meetings. The “Austrian way” prevents open conflicts and tries to appease all sides. However, its “liberal” association with radical elements sometimes leads to bizarre situations, which often go beyond what is acceptable according to the rule of law.
News update: December 3, 2007.
According to insider information, twenty-eight terror suspects were invited to the above mentioned Iftar dinners. In the meantime, the money tranfers made by Doghman and Abdelhalim are beyond dispute.

Shameless Al Sharpton Shakedown #34588: Wants Olympics to Boycott Chicago

By Debbie Schlussel
Why does Al Sharpton keep getting away with this stuff? Well, not just because the liberal mainstream media legitimizes him, but egomaniac so-called conservatives like Sean Vanity Hannity and Bill O’Reilly keep pandering to him and giving him airtime. I blame them as much as I blame the liberal media. He plays them even more like violins than he does the Matt Lauers and Diane Sawyers of the world.
The latest Shameless Sharpton Shakedown: Former coke dealer Sharpton is mad about alleged Chicago “police brutality,” so he’s threatening to ask the International Olympic Comittee to exclude Chicago from contention as a host city for the 2016 Summer Games. . . . unless, of course, the City of Chicago gives in to Weird Al’s shakedown.

Weird Al Sharpton: Race Merchant, Coke Dealer & “Police Brutality” Expert

Yup, deny Chicago’s inner city the economic effects of millions in Olympic spending in exchange for headline-grabbing media attention with your threats. That’s the ticket. Way to fight for Black America, Sharpie.
No biggie that, this summer, the Olympics are being held in Beijing, where they don’t have any police brutality. As we all know, Tiananmen Square is located just west of Lake Michigan, right next to the Mao Zedung Museum. No longer the Windy City, Chicago is the real home of police brutality in this world. Al Sharpton says so.
And you know the spineless city will probably give in. This is, after all, the city where they made it illegal to serve fois gras. Chicago cops will have to go through sensitivity-training contracted to one of Sharp’s friends, I’m sure. And maybe Sharpton will even get the key to the city.
Anything is possible, so long as Sharpton continues to be glorified by not just ABCNBCCBSCNNMSNBC, but HANNITYVANITYO’REILLYFALAFEL.
Whatever happened to the good ‘ole days when Sharpton was a medallions-and-track-suit adorned joke.
Flashback – from David Letterman’s, “Roman Numeral Two: An Altogether New Book of Top Ten Lists From ‘Late Night With David Letterman'” (Most are dated b/c Sharp no longer wears medallions, track suits, and a blow-dried coke dealer haircut–and he’s not as fat; I’ve bolded/underlined the best two.):

AL SHARPTON’S TOP TEN TRAVEL TIPS:
10. To avoid overweight charges for your luggage, wear as many of your medallions as possible
9. Don’t forget the electrical adapter for your blow dryer.
8. All foreign food is good if you bring your own gravy.
7. Before making reservations, make sure hotel has fat-guy suite.
6. If hair pomade is not available in Far East, duck sauce will work.
5. March in Buckingham Palace to protest the fact that there hasn’t been a Black King in years.
4. When in Venice, have them load up front end of gondola with sacks of peat moss to balance you out in the back.
3. If the Pope tries wearing some big medallion, go ahead and wear two.
2. Be careful: In some countries, being loud and obnoxious is considered rude.

Religion of Laundering Money Orders Through Travel Agencies To Terrorists in Yemen; UPDATE: Travel Agency Named, Under Investigation for Terrorism, But NOT Indicted- WHY?; Money Went to Palestinian Terrorists

By Debbie Schlussel
**** SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATE ****
So, where are the Muslims all over Detroit, where’s CAIR, and where’s the ADC condemning this guy? Of course, they don’t condemn him. They support him and are sorry he got caught. Oh, and interesting that he comes from Sami Al-Arian’s hometown of Tampa. By the way, love how Hezbo-protector U.S. Attorney (and Bush Federal Appeals Court nominee) Stephen Murphy III a/k/a Abu Porno won’t tell us the name of the Deabornistan travel agency that partnered in this. I’ve already written about several Muslim-owned travel agencies in Dearborn that have been used as tools of fraud and terrorism money-laundering, etc.
Convicting one guy is a tiny, meaningless thing, when the travel agency was apparently a major player. Why else would a guy from Tampa use a travel agency from Dearbornistan?:

U.S. Attorney Stephen Murphy a/k/a “Abu Porno”:

Slaps Wrist of Islamic Money-Launderer to Terrorists

A Florida resident pleaded guilty Monday to evading currency reporting requirements by using a series of money orders to attempt to move $53,000 to Yemen through a Dearborn travel agency. Hasan Qasem, 43, of Tampa was charged in November with buying more than 30 money orders to move the money, avoiding a requirement that reports be created for money orders larger than $3,000. Qasem awaits sentencing by U.S. District Judge Marianne O. Battani for conspiring to violate the Travel Act, [Hezbollah apologist] U.S. Attorney Stephen Murphy [“Abu Porno”] said. The Dearborn travel agency was not identified in court records.

“You’re either on our side or the terrorists’ side,” right? On whose side is the travel agency? On whose side is the U.S. Attorney that shields its name from public scrutiny? I will find out the name. You can bet that the agency is probably under scrutiny for terrorist activity and money-laundering and that’s how this guy got caught. Or a guy in the travel agency “flipped him,” so that he could avoid charges on something likely far more serious. But don’t worry. Nothing will happen to this travel agency.
Whenever the money’s going to Yemen–especially $50K, it’s going to terrorists. Yet, this lazy, pan-Islamist U.S. Attorney who panders to Islamists prosecuted this guy under some tiny travel act. He will likely do no jail-time, when he could have also been indicted under the Patriot Act, other money-laundering statutes, etc. But Abu Porno chose to slap him on the wrist. This way, Murphy lets the jihadist off with a shoulder-pat and he gets headlines for “prosecuting” terrorists. That’s the ticket.
**** UPDATE: Well, now I know the name of the Dearbornistan travel agency, Arabian Horizon Travel and Tourism. And it’s official that this is a terrorism case. Normally, such money laundering cases would be the domain of ICE and possibly the Secret Service. But, since the FBI was THE agency on this case–and it takes over all cases involving terrorism–this is certainly a terrorism case. And the FBI was not only investigating Qasem, but also the travel agency. The case originated out of FBI Detroit, which has domain over Dearbornistan.
And apparently, Mr. Qasem was transferring tens of thousands of dollars to Palestinian terrorists through Kuwait and Luxembourg.
And all they give this guy is a slap on the hand for violating the Travel Act?!!!:

FLORIDA, Feb. 22 – Sligh Avenue convenience store owner, Hasan Qasem was arrested Wednesday after being accused of illegally sending $53,000 to people in Yemen via Dearborn, Mich., travel agency, Arabian Horizon Travel and Tourism.
U.S. authorities also accused Qasem of illegally transferring $83,500 to the West Bank in Palestine and to Luxembourg. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) investigated Qasem’s store on the accusations because he sent money overseas in a manner considered to avoid government scrutiny.
According to the federal complaint, Qasem split his transactions into amounts less than $10,000 to avoid the threshold whereby financial institutions must report it to the Internal Revenue Service. The FBI said Qasem transmitted cash this way to people in Yemen, the West Bank and Luxembourg.
It said Qasem provided $53,000 to Arabian Travel from March to June 2004. The agency is the exclusive North American ticketing agent for Yemenia Airways, a Yemeni government-owned airline.
The affidavit listed nine wire transfers from 2002 to 2004 to Nablus in the West Bank and to Luxembourg, each for $8,500 or $9,500.
The affidavit gave several examples of what the FBI said were efforts to avoid the $10,000 reporting requirement. For example, the affidavit said Qasem bought two checks from SunTrust Bank on March 19, 2004. The checks, purchased four minutes apart, were for $5,373 and $4,670 for a total of $10,043, bringing the total to $19,000 for allowance to Yemen.
Qasem’s wife Mary said she did not know about the charges and does not know anyone in Yemen, stating that she and her husband, who originally is from Palestine, have nothing to hide. . . .
Qasem is a U.S. citizen of Palestinian descent. . . . Although Qasem was represented by a federal public defender, Jenkins said he must hire a lawyer, as he has the financial resources to do so.

So the question remains: Why wasn’t the travel agency and its officials indicted? And why is the agency’s name being shielded by the feds in court documents?
I looked up the company’s corporate registration in Michigan, and it’s very interesting. It is listed as both a Michigan corporation, with Mohmood Ali Al-Gahaem as its registered agent (and probably owner), and a Yemeni corporation, with Mohamed Iyad Al-Ayoubi listed as its registered agent.
So, why haven’t these men been charged with using their travel agency to launder thousands of dollars to Palestinian terrorists? Why haven’t they been indicted for violating the Patriot Act?
Why? Why? Why?
Well, the answer, once again, is that we have a U.S. Attorney here in Detroit, Stephen Murphy, who is soft on jihadists. So long as he gets headlines for doing nothing, he’ll continue to sup with terrorist supporters and praise Hezbollah as he has in the recent past.

Will This Broadcaster Get to Keep Her Job?: A “Philo-Semite” Who Never Met Me

By Debbie Schlussel
Um, why do left-dominated Jewish establishment groups keep trying to kiss the butts of those who hate them? They must love sado-masochism, which goes well with a side of Jewish guilt.
The latest is the Jewish Federation in Sacramento, California, which wants to “educate” complete dumbass-ette and KCRA 3 television traffic reporter Adrienne Bankert. The Sacramento Bee reports:

Bankert told a Christian organization on the California State University, Sacramento, campus that she has “never met a poor Jewish person ever in my life” and opined about how Jews founded Hollywood and were prominent in banking.

TV Reporter Adrienne Bankert: Miss Philo-Semite America

Like I said in the headline of this post, Adrienne Bankert never met me.
Yet, the Jewish community of Santa Barbara–instead of shunning her–wants to “educate” her. Puh-leeze. She doesn’t like us Hebes. Get a clue. That won’t change. It’s like thinking you’ve changed Mel Gibson’s mind. You haven’t. And you won’t.
No surprise that before she became an airhead anti-Semitic traffic reporter, she was an airhead anti-Semitic host of “educational” programming on Los Angeles’ PBS (Palestinian Broadcasting System) station, KLCS. Wonder what she was “educating” them about.
Think she’ll get the Don Imus/John Rocker/Al Campanis/Jimmy “The Greek” Snyder/Michael Richards treatment? Don’t bet on it. Minorities get away with this stuff (Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Louis Farrakhan, etc.). The fact that you didn’t read about this anywhere but here (and I read about it, buried deep in an obscure news industry e-newsletter) tells you that she will get away with it. And already has.
And still, I will remain a poor Jewish person she never met. Pity. Not that I’d want to meet her.
Send her on a trip to suburban Detroit or New York, where she can meet plenty of Jews struggling to survive.
We are not all made of money, despite what the late Khalid Abdul Muhammad, a Farrakhan acolyte, said about Jews and jewelry and “Goldstein, Silverstein, and Rubinstein.”

ACLU Lawsuits & the Lynndie England Treatment: Why the CIA Erased the Tapes

By Debbie Schlussel
We’ve heard a lot of reasons amidst the fraudulent Democrat outrage over the destruction of videotapes of CIA interrogation of terror suspects (including top Al-Qaeda operative and Palestinian Abu Zubaydah).
But today’s Wall Street Journal details exactly why Jose A. Rodriguez, Jr.–then the CIA’s National Clandestine Serice–ordered the destruciton of the video. Reading his reported reasoning–as relayed to the Journal by CIA sources–one can totally sympathize with Rodriguez and lower-level CIA agents. He did it to protect them from the Lynndie England treatment, in which a low level soldier took a huge fall for following orders that amount to nothing more offensive than a bunch of naked Iraqis in hoods while we’re at war with them.

joserodriguez.jpg

Senior CIA Counterterrorism Agent Jose A. Rodriguez, Jr.

Rodriguez didn’t want agents to get sicced with tons of ACLU/Muslim lawsuits that would ruin their lives because of a few hours of getting details that saved American lives. If only all high-level federal law enforcement agents looked out for their subordinates this way:

According to several former colleagues, his goal likely was to protect the officers who conducted the interrogations from criticism and litigation. They also described him as a cautious operator who probably would have ensured that top CIA managers new [DS: sic] of the plan. . . .
Gen. Hayden said last week that the tapes were destroyed because the agency feared that the identities of the officers would become public and that they would become targets of al Qaeda.
Former officers familiar with the events offer a different explanation. Mr. Rodriguez had long been concerned that the CIA lacked a long-term plan for handling interrogations, they say. He also worried, given the response to Abu Ghraib prison in Baghdad, and an earlier agency scandal involving the shooting-down of a plane that turned out to be carrying Peruvian missionaries, that lower-level officers would take the fall if the videos became public, the former colleagues said.
One former official said interrogators’ faces were visible on at least one video, as were those of more senior officers who happened to be visiting. He said Mr. Rodriguez was concerned that “they were carrying out the direction from higher-ups in the administration, yet the people who would end up getting in trouble are going to be some GS-12s,” referring to a midlevel rank in the federal bureaucracy.
“Jose was concerned about how all this would end,” another former senior intelligence official said.
“He wasn’t getting instructions from anybody.”
Officers implementing the program had already voiced worries they might be liable if the political winds shifted. Some bought liability insurance but feared it wouldn’t be sufficient protection.
Mr. Rodriguez, who grew up in Puerto Rico, is a product of what one former agency colleague called “the rough and tumble” Latin American division, which was responsible for thwarting Russian aggression in that part of the world. That strategy eventually evolved into the Iran-Contra scandal. Mr. Rodriguez was a junior officer at the time. He spent most of his CIA career in Latin America.
“He’s the true spirit of what was an old-fashioned case officer in those days: loyalty to the CIA and nobody else,” one of the former colleagues said.

Predictably, the Republican Senate version of Dennis Kucinich spies a conspiracy at every turn:

“It’s hard for me to believe that senior members of the White House somehow didn’t pay attention to this or didn’t know about it,” said Sen. Chuck Hagel (R., Neb.), a member of the Senate intelligence panel.

So glad he’s retiring. Good riddance and not soon enough.
Rodriguez, on the other hand, sounds like the kind of person we need more of in the CIA, instead of the Valerie Plame strain, which dominates the agency and has a left-wing, pan-Arabist bent.
He backed up his agents who helped save American lives . . . no matter what kind of interrogation methods they used. Their questioning led us to Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the discovery of multiple terrorist plots against Americans, etc.
Sadly, Rodriguez will retire at the end of the year.
