A Tiny Victory: Schlussel Readers Force Detroit Free Press to Issue Correction in Story Where Muslim Reporter Lied About Israel

By Debbie Schlussel
Yesterday, I told readers about how Detroit Free Press Muslim “reporter”/propagandist Niraj Warikoo lied to Free Press readers. He deliberately reported as fact a tall tale told by a Muslim Palestinian woman, claiming that Israeli soldiers shot her grandfather in 1967. Warikoo never checked out the story nor attempted to verify it. He simply reported it as fact and lied. As I told you, the Free Press refused to issue a correction and edit the online version of the story to reflect this lie.
Many of you contacted the Free Press, and today, we got our “clarification,” after the Freep’s refusal to do so. They backed down. And I thank you immensely for your vigilance and action. Here’s the result:

Disparate backgrounds source of bond
NIRAJ WARIKOO
FREE PRESS STAFF WRITER
CLARIFICATION: This article should have attributed statements to Rashida Tlaib that said her grandfather was shot several times by an Israeli soldier during the 1967 Arab-Israeli Conflict.

But it’s not enough. Warikoo knew better. He violated the principles taught in a basic high school journalism stuff because he has an agenda. You can’t believe a word this guy “reports,” er . . . regurgitates. And he–and HIS EDITORS–should be disciplined. And Warikoo, who clearly has an agenda–which clearly affects his “reporting,” should be removed from covering the Muslim and Jewish beats. I’m not holding my breath for either of these things to happen, since the Free Press doesn’t care about journalistic ethics and only issued the clarification under pressure.
It should be noted that the Detroit Jewish Community Council, which claims to be the “voice of the Jewish Community in Detroit,” did nothing, after I contacted Associate Director Allan Gale, who gets paid to do the work we did (and he didn’t). He told me he’d do something, but today, he told me he’s “still looking into it.” Like O.J. looking for the real killers. We did the work the some Americans–bad reporters, bad editors, negligent/unrepresentative Jewish community leaders–won’t do.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!
Now, let’s see if they publish my letter to the editor on this.

Sports Reporter Who Dissed NFL Coach’s Daughter Should Be Fired

By Debbie Schlussel
The biggest story here in Detroit isn’t the dying auto industry or the mountains of snow and tundra-like low temperatures. It’s Detroit News columnist and ESPN contributor Rob Parker’s extremely rude question to Detroit Lions Head Coach Rod Marinelli.
The question not only crossed over the line for a so-called professional journalist, but with the Lions at 0 and 15, it’s also an enormous piling on on a guy who is already down and probably out. Here’s the video. I agree with all of the FOX NFL analysts comments, especially Terry Bradshaw. Rob Parker crossed the line and did this to get attention. It isn’t the first time.

For the record, I knew Rob Parker. He and I both used to have radio talk shows on a CBS Radio station in Detroit, and my show came on after his, every night. While he did not treat me badly, he is what I call a “militant,” for whom everything is racist even when clearly it is not. When I called a pro athlete who was Black–I think it was Latrell Sprewell–a “thug,” he said I was “racist,” even though I’d called a criminal White athlete a “thug,” too.
When I discussed affirmative action on my show and how I was against it–he called my show, angrily. But the fact is that he had a show and his lackluster column in The Detroit News because of race. At the radio station, he was mostly absent, and the show was basically done entirely by his on-air co-host. His colleagues at the News tell me he’s heavily edited, and his column is still terrible.
And that’s why a guy who says the kind of things Rob Parker said to Rod Marinelli about his daughter is in the position to begin with–affirmative action. He’s a lackluster columnist, and there are other Black writers at the paper who are far better–like Terry Foster. The Detroit News should fire Parker, but they won’t. And race isn’t the only reason.
The paper has a problem disciplining its reporters who commit blatant acts of misconduct. As I previously reported on this site, Detroit News “reporter” David Shepardson made up a whole story on an Islamic terrorist being beaten in jail, then having been deported. But I got the incident report, and the injuries were far more minor than Shepardson reported. Oh, and the terrorist was still here and hadn’t been deported. The entire article was fiction. And I exposed it on this site. Shepardson was not only not disciplined, but he was promoted for the fabricated story, and is now the Detroit Newsistan’s Washington reporter.

Will Jonathon Pollard Have to Die First, Too?: Bush Pardons Charles Winters

By Debbie Schlussel
A new batch of Bush pardons was just announced. Among them, Charles Winters, who died in the 1980s. I’m glad Bush pardoned him, for committing the “crime” of helping Israel in the War of Independence.
But it’s sad that Charles Winters had to wait so long.

The list also included Charles Winters, who during the 1940s helped ship arms and aircraft to Jews trying to found their own state in the Middle East, the Associated Press reported. Winters died in the 1980s, the news agency said.
Offense: Conspiracy to export, and exportation, of a military aircraft to a foreign country in violation of the Neutrality Act of 1939; 22 U.S.C. Section 448(a).
Sentence: Feb. 4, 1949; Southern District of Florida; 18 months in prison, $5,000 fine.

jonathonpollard.jpg

Jonathon Pollard

Not in the pardons, so far, Lewis I. “Scooter” Libby, whose crime was saying “I don’t remember” about something he didn’t remember, and of which he wasn’t the source of the leak.
Also not in the pardons, Jonathon Pollard who spied for Israel. Yes, he spied, and he should be punished. But he’s been in prison for more than two decades, when other spies who did far more harm and spied for enemies–like China–got far less time and are already out. Most of what Pollard turned over to Israel was information the U.S. had agreed in writing to share with Israel, but chose not to. And he’s been kept in solitary confinement and deprived of medicine for his illnesses. Much of the spying that he was credited for helping the Soviets get, actually turned out to have been committed by Aldrich Ames.
Sadly, it looks like Pollard will get the Charles Winters treatment, if even that. If only he’d spied for the Chi-Coms, the Soviets, or the Muslims, he’d be free by now.
Remember Nada Nadim Prouty, the FBI and CIA agent who spied for Hezbollah? Remember her $750 fine? Hello . . . .

Dubai Says No to Miss Israel, Trump Moves Miss Universe to Vegas

By Debbie Schlussel
As longtime readers know I’m not exactly a fan of Donald Trump or his attached enormous ego. But I have to give him credit for doing the right thing. He moved the Miss Universe Pageant from Dubai, after Dubai said the country would not allow the pageant to go on with Miss Israel in it–something about not wanting pretty women to enter the Arab Muslim world.
On the other hand, Trump had no choice. Many of his business partners are Jews, as are many of the people with whom he socializes on the Manhattan rich people’s cocktail circuit. Still, perhaps I’m giving both Trump and New York Jews too much credit. I doubt they’d shun him if he went on with the pageant excluding the Jew (although Miss Israel has been a Muslim Arab before, such as Rana Raslan). They really don’t care a whit about anti-Semitism or anti-Israel sentiment. Look who most of ’em voted for in the Presidential election.

missisrael.jpgdonaldtrumphair.jpg

Sorry, Dubai: Trump Says Shunit Faragi, Miss Israel 2008, Stays in Pageant

Plus Trump shouldn’t have considered Dubai in the first place. It’s no secret the nation boycotts Israel, etc. That’s not to mention Trump’s good friend, Russell Simmons, who employs an anti-Semitic Muslim–Benjamin Chavis Muhammad–as head of his Hip Hop Summit Action Network. So, it’s not like anti-Semitism really bothers Trump all too much.
Trump isn’t exactly bothered by Dubai anyway. He was supposed to build a Trump International Hotel and Tower, there, which is now “delayed.” And the cancellation of Miss Universe there might have more to do with that, then any moral stand against anti-Semitism in Dubai and the other United Arab Emirates.
Regardless, though, Dubai’s anti-Israel policy has been publicly dissed by no less than Trump, and that’s a good thing.
More:

Alicia Jacobs, entertainment reporter at KVBC-TV, Channel 3, is reporting that Donald Trump’s Miss Universe pageant is “most likely” headed for Las Vegas. Trump, who was on the brink of holding the event in Dubai, has been negotiating with the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority since Dubai stipulated Miss Israel could not participate, Jacobs said. The event would be held at Planet Hollywood Resort, which also hosts the Miss America and Trump’s Miss USA pageants.

The Homo-Erotic Presidency: Barack Hussein OPin-up & The Presidents Who Work Out

By Debbie Schlussel
Much is being made of the photo of President-elect Barack Hussein Obama shirtless and buff in Hawaii (where he’s still failed to memorialize “typical White person” granny).
But in fact, it’s a carefully orchestrated exercise in the homo-erotic, dreamed up by the Uber-conceit of Obama himself (look at me, I’m bugg) and his largely male team of advisor-ooglers. Just wondering if this is his sad attempt to mollify the gay men who are angry over his invitation to Pastor Rick Warren to make the invocation at the Inauguration. Don’t count that out. A lot of gay men can be bought off by a man who looks nice (in their eyes) with his shirt off.

barackabs.jpg

Hail to the Buff: Presidential Gay Porn Auditions, Take One!

I, myself, am not impressed at this wannabe Supermodel soon to become our Commander-in-Chief. You know what I think of Presidents who work out. While I’m all for exercising and staying in shapes, the Presidents who do spend way too much time on that and the rest of their time screwing up. Just look at the list of Presidents who work out, which reads like a Who’s Who of the Worst Presidents of Contemporary Times: Jimmy Carter–Jogging and Managing White House Tennis Court Schedules, George H.W. Bush–Jogging, Bill Clinton–Jogging (and Monica Water Polo), George W. Bush–Jogging and Bicycling, and now, Barack Hussein Obama–General Working Out and Supermodel Shirtless Posing.
I mean, really, Obama looks no different than the many gay supermodels on the mauve pages of Men’s Vogue and GQ. Here’re the models of “distinguished” bad Presidents in whose path he follows (couldn’t find a pic of Bush the Daddy jogging, but they’re out there and he is on the list):

Segues don’t count as exercise, but the picture says it all . . .

And then there was this horribly incompetent Secretary of State who constantly bragged about her workout routine and supermodeled it a la Obama:
condiworkout.jpg

On the other hand, not working out at all also makes really, really bad politicians:
tedkennedyflabola.jpg

Oh, and just to be fair, there’s this little chickie President-wannabe who also jogs far too much and reads far too little, to the point she couldn’t name a single paper she read and was completely ignorant of the most basic facts:

EXCLUSIVE: Detroit Free Press Editor Admits Muslim Reporter Lied on Israel, Refuses to Correct; Can’t Trust Anything in the Freep, WHAT YOU CAN DO

By Debbie Schlussel
There’s a reason both Detroit papers are losing readers at a geometric rate and were forced to end daily home delivery for all but three days a week. And it’s not just the internet and the distressed auto industry.
It’s crappy journalism–or, rather, lack of any journalism at all. The Free Press, currently engaged in a lawsuit to defend a reporter’s right to refuse to disclose sources in legal proceedings, is hiding behind this phony “public’s right to know.” But when it comes down to it, the Free Press doesn’t actually care about the “public’s right to know” so much as it cares about the public’s right to be lied to by Free Press reporters.
Now, the newspaper is lying about Israel. The paper admits it lied, but won’t correct the false info it gave readers in a front-page story in its Sunday edition, its highest circulation day of the week.

freepressonguard.jpg

Detroit Free Press: On Guard for Palestinian Muslims, Not You

This latest incident is the Detroit Free Press’ admission to me–via Free Press Senior Managing Editor Jeff Taylor–that they reported as fact an unverified tall tale against Israel, and the paper’s absolute refusal to issue a correction or correct the story. The Palestinian Muslim woman who told the tale insists it’s true, and therefore, they will keep it in the story as fact (not labeled as her claim or allegation).
Do you or I get the privilege of a newspaper reporting as fact anything we tell them? I mean, this is basic high school journalism class stuff here.
Resident Muslim propagandist and “reporter” Niraj Warikoo knows better, but, hey, he got away with it. In a story on Rashida Tlaib, a Muslim woman elected to the Michigan House of Representatives, Warikoo reported as fact–TWICE!–that Israeli soldiers shot Tlaib’s grandfather during the 1967 war allegedly because he refused to leave their home and go to Jordan.
But the story is NOT a fact. It’s her tall tale that cannot be verified, and Niraj Warikoo knows better than to report it as fact. He never tried to verify the story, and instead, deliberately chose to pass it off as true.
I did the work that some Americans–Detroit Free Press reporter-fabricators–won’t do, and I actually checked. There is no record of this anti-Israel claim. And the facts–ie., that Israel told the Palestinians to stay, but they refused and left, thinking Jordan and other Arab states would quickly win–say otherwise.
Here’s how this phony story ran and continues–at this time to read–online:

Rashida Tlaib is the granddaughter of a Palestinian Muslim who was once shot several times by an Israeli soldier. . . .
Tlaib’s background was different. Her grandparents lived near the cities of Jerusalem and Ramallah; during the 1967 Arab-Israeli war, her mother’s father was shot after he refused to leave his home for Jordan.

Given all this, I contacted Detroit Free Press Senior Managing Editor Jeff Taylor, second in command at the paper, about this. He admits to me that the story wasn’t verified and that the Free Press was wrong. Yet, he refuses to issue a correction or even change the online story to reflect that Tlaib’s story is her claim and not fact.
It’s incredible. Niraj Warikoo knew better. Yet, he chose to regurgitate this story as fact, unchallenged, and unverified, because that’s his–and the Detroit Free Press’–agenda, to attack Israel.
And since the Free Press refuses to issue a correction or discipline this lying reporter, in what other stories have they lied? In what other stories have Detroit Free Press personnel reported to you as fact agenda-laden stories and claims that can’t be verified? You simply can’t trust anything you read in this paper.
How will you know what was actually verified (probably none of it) versus what reflects the agenda of the reporter? In this case, it’s a Muslim anti-Israel regurgitator who doesn’t do the most basic of fact-checking in what he “reports.” In another case, it might be about something else where the reporter has a personal agenda and chooses to lie to you because he knows that Free Press Senior Managing Editor Jeff Taylor won’t discipline him or even issue a correction and edit the story as it should have been edited in the first place.
This isn’t the first time Warikoo has lied or engaged in unethical behavior for a supposed journalist. He helped Abed Hammoud, his openly pro-Hezbollah friend–who he was covering–write his campaign literature, when Hammoud ran for Mayor of Dearborn. That’s a no-no for any journalist. But Warikoo got away with it. When I–and even Arabs from Dearborn–complained to the Free Press, they whitewashed Warikoo. Then-Free Press officials told me that they asked “people in the community”–ie., Warikoo’s fellow Muslims and buddies in Dearborn–whether or not Warikoo wrote the campaign literature, and the people said no. End of “investigation.”
And that’s the basic reporting standard that’s clearly at play at the Free Press: If Muslim Arabs tell you one thing, gosh darn it, it must be the truth, and will be reported as such.
Oh, and by the way, the story in which Warikoo wrote this anti-Israel BS, was about how a spoiled liberal Jewish State Representative, Steve Tobocman (who sits on the far-left Detroit Jewish Community Council–which famously refused to condemn Palestinian terrorism) recruited the anti-Israel, lying Rashida Tlaib to work for him and then to replace him in his seat. Before that, Tlaib worked as an advocate for and abettor of Muslim illegal aliens at Medicaid-defrauding agency ACCESS–the Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services. That is, until Tobocman decided he needed to promote that kind of treason even more and hired her and then urged her to replace him after term limits ended his run.
Please also note that I contacted the unrepresentative, self-appointed Jewish Community Council of Metro Detroit, which claims to be the “voice of the Jewish community” in Detroit. Alan Gale, the Associate Director of the group, told me he was completely unaware, even though he has a paid staff. Yes, I’m doing the work that some more Americans won’t do. He told me that he agreed with my concerns and at my urging he’d contact the Free Press and get back with me.
I would hope that he would insist that there would be disciplinary action against Niraj Warikoo and his editors, to insure that these serious lapses in journalism don’t occur at the Free Press again. Otherwise, we are allowing the Free Press to radically alter the time-honored standards for journalism, thus allowing the Free Press to become anyone’s personal platform for propaganda.
But just as Niraj Warikoo needs to be accountable to his readers and editors, so does the self-described “voice of the Jewish community” need to be held accountable to the Jewish Community to speak out on these issues and not rely on me to do their job for them. They need to read the Detroit papers more vigilantly and to respond with more of a spine than they have in the past. They told me they’d get back with me, and if they do, I’ll share their response.
Below are my e-mails back and forth with Jeff Taylor and the letter to the editor I sent the paper. So much for the Freep’s oft-claimed “public’s right to know.” More like “the public’s right to know nothing about false Free Press ‘reporting.'” You should note that this isn’t my first run-in with Jeff Taylor on issues just like this. The last time, I complained was when the Freep “covered” a Michigan State Police raid on several Shi’ite Muslims in Dearborn who committed Bridge Card/Food Stamp fraud. The reporter, Dan Cortez, quoted Lt. Det. Marty Bugbee, who headed the investigation, as saying they believed the money may have gone to Hezbollah and were investigating it. Taylor’s editors removed all reference to that. Taylor told me “it’s far more complicated than you think” (whenever anyone gives you that patronizing response, it’s actually very simple, not complicated at all), stood by his editors and never got back to me further. Yup, “the public’s right to know.” Uh-huh.

Niraj Warikoo, in a front-page story, reported as fact and repeated–TWICE!–an unverified, phony story Rashida Tlaib has been telling about her grandfather allegedly being shot three times by Israeli soldiers in 1948. It’s false and there is no record of it. In fact, contrary to her claim, Israel asked Palestinians to stay, but they left because Jordan asked all Palestinians to leave and promised they’d return when Israel lost the war (which Israel won). Niraj did not report in this story–he merely repeated as fact, something that is not fact, but a tale which is untrue. He did nothing to verify the story because there is no proof and it never happened. That’s very sloppy. A correction and retraction needs to be issued. When will the Freep finally do fact-checking on politically correct sources and stories, the way real journalists do? No wonder your paper is in the toilet? People are tired of reading unverified propaganda and fluff being reported as fact and news.

Will there be corrections? Will Niraj Warikoo and his editors face any discipline. This is elementary stuff for a reporter. He deliberately reported it as fact and chose not to attempt to verify it or to report it as a claim. I mean I learned this stuff in high school journalism. He knew better, and so did your editors. The claim was repeated as fact TWICE. What will be the response? Will the online version be corrected?

My point being made clear is not enough. This must be corrected. It is not a fact. And her insistence that it is true is completely irrelevant. It must be corrected and the online version must be changed. My point has not been made clear, since you admittedly refuse to correct a story that you admit contains false reporting. No wonder your paper’s circulation is dropping. People want to read news. Not someone’s tall tales that she insists are true reported as fact. That’s not journalism. Jeff:
I’ve been entirely civil with you. But I caught you and your paper with your pants down and you don’t like it. And you don’t like that I won’t just let it go. Sad for you, but I will continue to pursue this. You admitted the Free Press reported an unverified claim as fact. You admitted you lied to your readers, no matter how you try to give this cosmetic surgery now.
This is high school journalism stuff. If it’s not verified, it’s not fact. Your paper published a lie. You admit the story was NOT verified and that there is no proof that it is true. You admit that Niraj Warikoo repeated a claim as fact and reported it as fact because she “insists it’s true”. That’s lying to your readers. You can try to worm your way out of it by parsing words like Bill Clinton on what the definition of “sex” is, but the bottom line is you reported as fact a tale that is not true and for which there is no evidence. Unless you can prove her claim–and you cannot–it must be labeled as a claim. You refuse to do so.
Now, I will publicize it. This is your bed, you made it, now you must sleep in it. You could have issued a correction and/or edited the story and noted the story has been edited. You refuse to do so and insist on continuing to lie to Free Press readers. What other stories in the Freep have contained reporters repeats of unverified claims as fact? We have to assume all of them. I guess the Free Press doesn’t really care about “the public’s right to know” after all. Not that this is a shocker to me.
DS

Here’s my letter to the editor, to the Free(-to-Lie to Readers) Press:

To the Editor:
In its gushing, front-page puff-piece on Rashida Tlaib, the Free Press did much worse than fail to do any real reporting. The drooling was so thick that the Free Press twice reported as fact an unsubstantiated, unproven anti-Israel tale Ms. Tlaib has been telling, claiming her Palestinian Muslim grandfather was allegedly shot by an Israeli soldier for refusing to leave his house in 1967 and go to Jordan. Unlike the Free Press, I actually checked into this story, and there is absolutely no evidence to back up her claim.
Real reporting involves actual research and investigation, not regurgitation. Sadly, the Free Press did not want to let real reporting get in the way of a story that had an obvious agenda and should have been labeled commentary. But even commentary cannot claim as fact, what is merely an unsubstantiated allegation that should have been labeled as such. That the Free Press took Ms. Tlaib at her word, without solidly substantiating the claim, is blatant evidence that the Free Press cannot be trusted to report accurately on issues relating to the Mid-East or the Arab-Israeli conflict.
In fact, during both the 1948 and 1967 wars, Israel asked Palestinians to stay and not to go to Jordan. But each time, Jordan and other Arab nations told Palestinians to leave, assuring them they’d be able to come back after a swift Arab victory. Jordan lost each time, and Tlaib’s family tale is likely just a sour grapes story.
While Ronald Reagan famously said, “Trust But Verify,” a newspaper’s job is strictly to verify. By failing to do so, the Free Press simply doesn’t deserve our trust.
Debbie Schlussel

WHAT YOU CAN DO:
Since Jeff Taylor won’t correct the false information on Israel in this story and/or label it as a claim and not fact, e-mail his boss who heads the Detroit Free Press, Paul Anger. Ask Anger why his paper won’t correct unverified claims that were reported as fact. Ask him why his reporters don’t get that basic tenet of journalism–checking and verifying facts. Ask him why he won’t discipline Niraj Warikoo, whose agenda led him to deliberately report as fact this tall tale. If you are a Detroiter and/or reader of the Free Press, let him know that and how this fake news will affect your future readership of his dying paper.

Barack Obama Racist “Typical White Person” Granny Memorial Watch; Releases Real Birth Certificate

By Debbie Schlussel
Hmmmm . . . so, Barack Hussein Obama’s “typical White person” racist granny, Madelyn Duham, has been dead for almost two months. And still, not a single act of memorial for her. Not a special trip to Hawaii. Nothin’. It tells you a lot about him–he doesn’t give a whit (or is that . . . White?) about the person who raised him. After he threw her under the bus when she was alive, he clearly didn’t feel any obligation to attend any sort of funeral.
And don’t expect him to any time in the next four to eight years. He has far more important things to do, like interview for Baba Wawa’s “Most Fascinating People,” help Mrs. Hussein Obama pick a designer ball gown, and find those kiddies a nice dog and an exclusive snobby school for rich kids.

madelyndunhamobama.jpg

St. Barry with Late Grandmother Who Still Awaits Memorial from Him

Now, though, Obama is back in Hawaii–not a special trip to remember “Typical White person” granny. Oh, no, we can’t have that. You see, the Hussein Obamas go to Hawaii every year for the holidays. Granny had nothin’ to do with it. They have a gazillion dollar mansion to hang at.
And has he gone to pay his respects to her in any way (supposedly her body was cremated; a memorial was held–but he didn’t attend)? No. He’s doing the more important things in life . . . .
obamagolfing.jpgobamagolf.jpg

Priorities.
By the way, it appears that finally, Mr. Obama has–once and for all–released a real copy of his birth certificate. This should put all questions and lawsuits regarding his birth to rest, once and for all. Don’t blame me for the somewhat racist looking babies that are posted on the document. I didn’t make this, and I’d prefer it without the photos. The point I wish to make is in the text of the birth certificate. Looks just as real as his “real” Selective Service Registration.

And now, when is there going to be a memorial for Granny? Don’t hold your breath, or you’ll soon be as expired as she is. Tells us a lot about the “character”–or rather, lack of one–of our new President to be.

BREAKING: Mixed Verdict on Fort Dix Six (Five) (Ten) Islamic Terrorists–Guilty of Conspiracy, Acquitted of Attempted Murder

By Debbie Schlussel
Remember the Fort Dix Six (Five)(Ten), the Islamic terrorist illegal aliens who plotted to murder American soldiers at Fort Dix?
Jurors, today, reached a verdict in their trial, finding all five of them guilty of conspiracy to kill American soldiers, but acquitting all of them of attempted murder. That doesn’t make sense. If it meets the level of a conspiracy, then there is a conspiracy to do something, in this case to attempt to murder the soldiers. I suppose we should have afforded them the opportunity to shoot at soldiers, and then it would be “attempted murder”?

As I noted then, they got away with being here illegally because they lived in a sanctuary city, where authorities couldn’t inquire about their immigration status. As I also noted this was on the tape of their discussions of the plot:

On the videotape there is significant discussion of martyrdom. “Who is going to take care of my wife and kids?” one suspect asks on the tape, according to investigators. Another responds, “Allah will take care of your wife and kids.”

Now our government welfare system, food stamps, and Medicaid will probably take care of them. Alhamdillullah [Praise allah].
Why do I call it the “Fort Dix Six (Five) (Ten)”? Well, as I noted then, the feds say that ten Muslims total were involved in the plot, but they chose to only go after six of them. The other four are roaming America free and clear, unless ICE chose to deport them, a big if. The sixth of the six charged was only charged with gun offenses and pleaded guilty.
So, the bottom line is that only five of the ten men–half–who were in on this plot are going to go to jail. The other five are probably helping another group of Islamic thugs plan their next American targets. Whatta country!
The hero in all of this is Brian Morgenstern, the American Circuit City employee who alerted the feds when he saw their disturbing materials, which they wanted transferred from videotape to DVD. Sadly, he’s been vilified, then forgotten in all of this.

Brian Morgenstern: Alerted Authorities to Fort Dix Six Terrorists

Oh, and one other thing about this case: It puts the lie to the constant BS-claim that Muslims raised here in America with American culture would never hate Americans enough to commit terrorism. From a TIME Magazine profile of Mahmoud Omar, the Muslim illegaly alien informant in the case:

Dritan, Shain and Eljvir Duka are illegal immigrants from the former Yugoslavia, but they look and sound like Americans. They wear sports jerseys and speak with New York accents. The eldest, Dritan, arrived in the States when he was 5. He can’t remember living anyplace else. When they were small, the Duka brothers worked as models in New York City. Eljvir appeared in a rock-music video, Dritan was an extra in Law & Order, and Shain was in a commercial for the World Wrestling Federation.

Let’s hope the judge sentences the five convicted thugs to life in prison. Kudos to CBS and AP for calling the men what they are: Muslims.
More:

Five Muslim immigrants were found guilty Monday of conspiring to massacre U.S. soldiers at Fort Dix in a case the government said demonstrated its post-Sept. 11 determination to stop terrorist attacks in the planning stages.
The men, who lived in and around Philadelphia for years, were charged with conspiring to kill military personnel and attempted murder; four also faced weapons charges. All were acquitted on the attempted murder charges, and some were convicted on the weapons charges.
The men face up to life in prison when they are sentenced in April.
The government said after the men’s arrest in 2007 that an attack was imminent and that the case underscored the dangers of terrorist plots hatched on U.S. soil. Although investigators said the men were inspired by Osama bin Laden, they were not accused of any ties to foreign terror groups. . . .
Faten Shnewer, the mother of suspect Mohamad Shnewer, said the informants should be sent to jail, not her son.
“They (the government informants) have to be in jail, not my son and his friends. It’s not right, it’s not justice,” she said moments after the verdict was read.
“They (the government) sent somebody to push him to say something; that’s it,” she said.

Hilarious. Tell it to the wind, honey.

Prosecutors said that the men bought several assault rifles supplied by the FBI and that they trekked to Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains to practice their shooting. The government also presented dozens of jihadist speeches and videos that the men supposedly used as inspiration.
Convicted were: Jordanian-born cab driver Mohamad Shnewer; Turkish-born convenience store clerk Serdar Tatar; and brothers Dritan, Eljvir and Shain Duka, ethnic Albanians from the former Yugoslavia, who had a roofing business.
A sixth man arrested and charged only with gun offenses pleaded guilty earlier. . . .
Prosecutors in the Fort Dix case said the group chose the Army post because one of the defendants was familiar with it. His father’s pizza shop delivered to the New Jersey base, which is 25 miles from Philadelphia and is used primarily to train reservists for duty in Iraq.
The group’s objective was to kill “as many American soldiers as possible,” according to prosecutors.
“I think they were in the last stage of planning,” then-U.S. Attorney Christopher Christie said at the time of their arrest. “They had training, they had maps, and I think they were very close to moving on this.” . . .
The investigation began after a clerk at a Circuit City store told the FBI that some customers had asked him to transfer onto DVD some video footage of them firing assault weapons and screaming about jihad.
The FBI asked two informants — both foreign-born men who entered the U.S. illegally and had criminal records — to befriend the suspects. Both informants were paid and were offered help obtaining legal resident status. . . .
The jury, which was sequestered, spent about 38 hours deliberating over the past six days.
Jurors didn’t want to speak to the media after the verdict was read, but had the judge read a statement on their behalf. It said, in part: “This has been one of the most difficult things that we have ever had to do.”

Absurd. This was easy and shouldn’t have taken them six days. That’s the problem with treating terrorists as criminals entitled to trials–they get wimpy, O.J.-style juries.
Glad this one–after 38 hours of “does this make my butt look fat?”-style deliberations–finally came to the right decision.

Hmmm . . . Big, Fat Meat-Eating, Pet-Owning, Fur/Leather-Wearer is PETA’s “Person of the Year”

By Debbie Schlussel
Since PETA a/k/a PUTAh (People for the Unethical Treatment of Animals and humans) is constantly telling us to wear cork shoes and eat tofu, it’s kind of surprising–not to mention, hypocritical–that it picks this huge meat-eater, who wears leather shoes and clothing, as its person of the year. And don’t forget that this person has pet dogs, another PETA no-no. And, as I’ve noted, she is racist against Black dogs, even though she is Black and tells us not to be racist.
This begs the question: Since PETA believes animals are equal–and even superior–to humans, why does the organization have a “Person of the year” and not a “Beast of the year”? Why does it insist on continually honoring the subrate humans, when it could honor righteous goldfish?
If there’s any mercy, this new PETA Person of the Year, won’t do one of those, “I’d rather go naked than wear fur” posters, since she does wear fur, and more important, we don’t ever–never ever–wanna see her naked. She’s the archetype of women we’d like to see in burqas.
