UAE Prince Tortures Man to Near-Death; ABC News Anchor Terry Moron Compares it to U.S. “Torture” of Terrorists; UPDATE: Video Fixed

By Debbie Schlussel
Wednesday Night, on ABC News’ “Nightline,” investigative reporter Brian Ross showed a chilling–but not surprising–tape of Sheikh Issa bin Zayed al Nahyan, a prince in the United Arab Emirates’ ruling royal family, brutally torturing a man within inches of his life. Sheikh Issa’s brother Mohammed is the Crown Prince of the U.A.E. More details on the video and the story behind it here.
The man being beaten, held down, and shot at by Sheikh Issa is a farmer, who the prince claims cheated him out of $5,000 of grain. For that alleged slight, Prince Issa forces the man to eat sand, beats him with a wooden plank with a nail on it, shoots at him, pours lighter fluid on the man’s testicles and sets them aflame, drives a nail through his buttock flesh, electrocutes him with a cattle prod, and then repeatedly runs over him with an SUV.

Incredibly, ABC News anchor Terry Moran–brother of liberal pseudo-conservative hack blogger and Islamo-apologist Rick Moran–has the utter gall to compare this real torture to America’s “torturing” (which is nothing close to this) of no more than three Islamic terrorists–including Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and Abu Zubaydah–who were bent on our destruction.

Brian, that is a shocking investigation, especially as our own country is engaged in a wrenching debate on torture.

You Schmuck. We never did anything like this to terrorists. This is inhumane. And this man is a grain farmer, not a terrorist. That this Terry Moron has the nerve to compare our legitimate use of mild discomfort to find out terrorist plots against Americans, to the near-murder of a grain farmer is just plain sickening. This farmer miraculously survived, but he spent months in the hospital with massive internal injuries. We never did that–or anything close to that–to the terrorists we interrogated, who actually deserved it far more.
When you see all the skyscrapers and fancy hotels of Dubai and hear how westernized it supposedly is, remember that several of those skyscrapers, including this one and this one, are owned by this barbarian, Sheikh Issa–whose other royal family members probably act the same way. Some have even suggested he’s the “Milk Sheikh” from the Al-Nahyan family who “dated” (euphemism) bim Pamela Anderson. She’s so worried about animal rights, but apparently not so worried about her barbarian boyfriend’s treatment of humans.
I’ve written about Sheikh Issa’s father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the President of the U.A.E. until his death a few years ago. He gave a lot of money to President’s Bush’s loser brother Neil (of failed Silverado Savings and Loan fame) through his Zayed Center, which also funded anti-Semitic, anti-American, Holocaust-denial speakers and books, which claimed that the U.S., Israel, and the CIA were behind 9/11. The Al-Nahyans were the original 9/11 truthers.
The tape of Sheikh Issa’s barbaric torture of a man for sport, was smuggled out of the U.A.E. by Bassam Nabulsi, a Muslim Arab businessman in Texas, who had a falling out with Sheikh Issa after the two did business together. It’s interesting how moral Mr. Nabulsi now acts, even though he did business with this barbarian for years. It’s a sure bet this isn’t the first time he’s seen Sheikh Issa do this. It’s on videotape, because Issa ordered his brother–the U.A.E. chief of police–to tape it so he could watch it over and over again with his friends for entertainment. He had his people insert the Arab musical soundtrack. The screaming is real.
It’s ironic: “Issa” is Arabic for “Jesus.”
The U.A.E.’s response to ABC News:

The government statement said its review found “all rules, policies and procedures were followed correctly by the Police Department.”

The tape is no surprise to me. This is how they are. They are barbarians, animals, complete scumbags. And this is to whom our leaders are buddying up. President George W. Bush welcomed this sadist to his Crawford, Texas ranch, when he was still President. Nabulsi, the man who smuggled the tape out of the UAE, is suing Sheikh Issa in federal court in Texas. The Sheikh’s lawyer represented President Bush in the 2000 Florida recount and is a partner with the pan-Arabist James A. “F-ck the Jews” Baker in the law firm, Baker Botts. Figures.
These are the “people” of whom we are supposed to be tolerant, whom we are expected to call peaceful. Yup, just like the SS death camp guards were peaceful.
Maybe, one day, when they make these videos of Muslims doing this on our own soil, we will wake up. But, then, it will be too late. It is already too late.
Dubai is fast running out of oil, which is why it has focused on becoming a tourism destination. Since they are largely, therefor, no longer of value to us, why are we still sucking up to these barbarians?
And where are Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, and all the other faux-humanitarian celebs–all of whom hang out in the UAE’s Dubai (where Brangelina owns property)?
Strangely silent. Desert crickets chirping.

More Evidence Earth Day is Just a Hypocritical Marketing Scam; Save 15% @ Walgreen’s, Get a Free Bag

By Debbie Schlussel
Yes, as we all know (those of us with any sense), Earth Day and the Green Movement are just silly marketing scams and tools of zealous far leftists to take away our rights and choice on the free market.
Here’s yet another example how phony Earth Day is. Look at this Walgreen’s Earth Day coupon. You have to print it out to use it. Hmm . . . aren’t all these green freaks always telling us how we’re polluting the environment and creating more and more landfills with our endless use of paper (and the energy to print on it). Anyway, there’s nothing to stop you from taking advantage of Earth Day BS, printing out this coupon, and getting 15% off (and a free bag), today, at Walgreen’s. Go here to print off the coupon.

BARF: The Pope Pulls a Rachael Ray/Megan McCain; UPDATE: Keffiyeh Photo Op Was Pre-Arranged

By Debbie Schlussel
**** SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATE ****
Yes, I know the Pope was “ambushed” by these Palestinians [CORRECTION: No ambush, this was pre-arranged, see below], but do you think he’d don a swastika scarf if he was ambushed by Neo-Nazis who gave him such a gift? Don’t bet on it. He should have exercised the same common sense here. So, why did the Pontiff pull a Megan McCain jihad fashion victim move?
Unfortunately, the Vatican has been a mouthpiece for anti-Israel, pan-Palestinian sentiment, even though the Palestinian Muslims continue to persecute and drive out the Pope’s own Palestinian Christian followers. It’s ridiculous. Even more so than these photos. But the scarf of jihadist murder and violence deserves no place anywhere near St. Peter’s Basilica, let alone on the shoulders of the world leader of Catholicism.
I guarantee you if Israeli Christians tried to put an Israeli flag scarf on the Pope’s shoulders, those priests behind him not only wouldn’t have assisted (as they visibly do with this keffiyeh), they’d have nixed the whole thing.

popekeffiyeh3.jpg

popekeffiyeh2.jpg

popekeffiyeh.jpg

**** UPDATE: This photo is no accident, no “ambush.” It appears that Vatican authorities and the Pope’s staff pre-arranged this. The Pope has tremendous security, and you can’t get close to him unless you have an arranged appointment or top Vatican officials getting you to the Pontiff. And, as my friend, Fred Taub of Boycott Watch points out, there are no crowds visible in the background. This was very obviously a pre-arranged photo-op, and NOT an ambush. Shame on the Vatican.

Pope Benedict XVI met in the Vatican on Wednesday with a group of Palestinian Catholics who presented him with a kaffiyeh, a traditional Palestinian scarf, as a gift. The 27 faithful from a Bethlehem parish were among thousands attending the pope’s weekly audience in St. Peter’s Square.
At the end of the service, two youths from the group were brought to the pope and draped the black-and-white checkered scarf on his shoulders. Benedict chatted briefly with them while wearing the scarf.

Nauseating.

PETA’s Latest Dumb Publicity Grab: “Chicken Dance” Causes Animal Abuse

By Debbie Schlussel
Gotta love the hypocrity of the animal rights zealots of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) a/k/a PUTAh (People for the Unethical Treatment of Animals and humans).
They have no problem with their spokesskank, Pamela Anderson, getting paid to promote a steakhouse. Yet, they are livid over the “chicken dance” at a NASCAR race. They apparently don’t get that this silly dance is comprised of HUMANS imitating animals. Or, apparently, they do . . . and they think this constitutes “animal abuse” and encourages the real thing. Plus, they’re on Col. Sanders’ case . . . again.

chickendance.jpg

Chicken Dance . . . or “Encouragement of Animal Abuse”?

Today, PETA sent an urgent letter to Guinness World Records editor in chief Craig Glenday, urging him to refuse to accept KFC’s bid to set a world record at the Talladega Superspeedway for the largest group chicken dance. Guinness has previously agreed not to certify records that involve cruelty to animals, and PETA is asking that Guinness also refuse to accept world-record bids from a company that refuses to reduce the needless suffering of chickens killed for profit.
If this record is allowed, it could encourage other animal abusers to attempt silly feats that make a mockery of animal protection,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman.

Talk about a stretch. I guess these people have never seen Loony Toons. Remember Wile E. Coyote’s and the Road Runner’s exploits? They “could encourage other animal abusers,” too.

Earth Day Green Hypocrisy Costs Taxpayers Mucho Money, Obscures Astronomers’ View

By Debbie Schlussel
**** SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATE ****
It’s bad enough that airhead, fake “conservative” Elisabeth Hasselbeck was pimping Earth Day and the “endangered rainforest” crap on us on today’s edition of ABC hag-fest “The View.”
But the green movement is not just a lie. It’s costly and draining taxpayers’ money by the gazillions. And it affects the ability of astronomers to view other planets.

Streetlights were the first big users of electricity. Now, they are being re-engineered to improve efficiency, but at a cost that today’s municipalities might have a tough time covering.
San Jose, Calif., in the heart of Silicon Valley, is testing a concept called “adaptive lighting,” in which streets can be made brighter, darker or even be illuminated with flashing strobes upon command.

greenlove.jpg

By summer, the city will have installed 125 streetlamps using LED technology, in one of the biggest urban tests of the science so far in the U.S. . . .
But the cost savings will take time to materialize. . . . Many cities have LED traffic signals, but because of the high cost of producing white light with LED, local governments have been reluctant to install them in streetlights. The effort is further complicated not only by strapped municipal coffers, but resistance from star-gazers and others who object to LEDs brighter glare. . . .
San Jose expects to spend $150,000 to $200,000 on a pilot project in its Hillview North neighborhood, and it is seeking an additional $2 million in federal stimulus funds to enlarge the test.
The LED streetlights being tested in San Jose could save anywhere from 10% to 60% on energy use, depending on their brightness. The white LEDs will have a range of between one and 82 watts and will replace 55-watt, yellowish sodium-vapor lamps. . . .
But for now, many cities see little financial advantage to switching their lighting systems.
It can cost $600 to install a single LED streetlight, compared with $200 for a sodium-vapor lamp. What’s more, utilities often charge cities a flat rate based on the number of streetlamps they operate, regardless of use.
Fourteen miles east of San Jose on Mount Hamilton, the astronomers at the Lick Observatory have another concern: The bright white light of LEDs illuminate the night sky and obscure views of planets and stars. The scientists helped San Jose select its sodium lamps in the 1980s because the observatory can filter out yellow light. “Going to any other kind of lighting is detrimental,” says Burt Jones, the observatory’s assistant director.

It’s interesting that these new LED lights might only save San Jose 10%. Plus the city pays a contractor to control the lighting–something they didn’t have to pay for with regular lighting.
Think about that the next time you hear bimbos and airheads (like Elisabeth Hasselbeck) telling you to go green to save the rainforest.
You’re not saving anybody . . . except some lighting companies and contractors who are making out very well from these ridiculous, costly switchovers.
Now, you’ll excuse me, as I go out to do errands and ask for a few more plastic bags to “destroy the environment.”
**** UPDATE: Reader Bob adds:

LED traffic lights and street lights will/don’t fare well in the colder climates. By their nature, LED’s do not produce much heat and without that “waste heat” cannot keep themselves clear of ice and snow! LED traffic lights quickly become covered and obscured by blowing snow and freezing rain.

So sad, Too Bad, Crimson Edition: Harvard Students Learn to Face Rejection; Turned Down @ Starbucks

By Debbie Schlussel
**** SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATE ****
While I’m against the politics of envy and class warfare, I have no problem turning up my nose and looking down at elitism. I can’t help but laugh at the fact that Harvard students are facing increasing rejection of their inflated self-worth (and inflated grades). And they can’t handle it.
Therefore, as any group of liberals–especially elitist, self-important Ivy League liberals–the school is holding seminars on how to deal with rejection. The story would be even sweeter, if they invited Tony Robbins as the keynote speaker. But it sounds like they came close enough.

To help students cope, Harvard’s Office of Career Services hosted a new seminar last week on handling rejection, a fear job-seekers are feeling acutely in the plummeting economy. The advice from panelists could have come from a caring, patient parent. No rejection is the end of the world, they said, even though it might feel that way at the time.

harvardlogo.jpgrejected.jpg

Participants, who wore snappy buttons with the word rejected stamped in red, also received a road map of sorts on handling failure, a pink booklet of rejection letters and personal stories from Harvard faculty, students, and staff members.

This is the best part:

Among the tales of woe: the 2004 alumnus and aspiring actor rejected for a barista gig at a Los Angeles Starbucks for being overqualified and the medical school professor who was wait-listed at every medical school he applied to.

Welcome to the real world.

Senior Olga Tymejczyk arrived at the seminar early. With just a month and a half until graduation, Tymejczyk has applied for 10 jobs, but has no offers.
“Rejection is inevitable sometimes, even if you go to Harvard,” said Tymejczyk, a Latin American studies major who wants to work in higher-education administration or healthcare research. She has two more interviews this week, and she is hoping for the best but bracing for more bad news.
Panelist Pat Hernandez knows a thing or two about setbacks. The 2004 Harvard graduate was rejected by all three graduate schools she applied to two years ago, after losing out on numerous consulting jobs.
“It’s something many people are ashamed or reluctant to talk about,” said Hernandez, who serves as a resident tutor for Harvard undergraduates.

Wait, they have tutors at Harvard? I thought everyone there was supposed to be magically brilliant. Their parents told them they were.

Hard as it is for some to believe, there are candidates more worthy than Harvard students, [Harvard statistics] Professor [Xiao-Li] Meng quipped, in language befitting his field. “Statistically you are rejected, and probablistically it is fair.”

So sad, too bad. Welcome to reality, Harvard grads. Despite what you’ve been told for four years plus, you’re no better than the rest of us, and in some cases, less better.
Remember, the Harvard logo is “Veritas.” Truth. Deal with it. We’re just not that into you.
Oh, and don’t forget: This is the same school that instituted special “women only” hours at its gym in capitulation to the whines of Muslims.

MLK, Jr. Cha-Ching

By Debbie Schlussel
The name, Martin Luther King, Jr., is worth a lot financially. And I can understand his family’s desire to protect its value and carefully license it out for the best financial opportunities.
But let’s be clear. They’re not doing this out of any sense of public service or for any noble cause. They’re doing it for the same reason Jimi Hendrix’s family accepts millions in royalties for him, each year: CHA-CHING!
If they were really doing this for anything other than financial greed, they wouldn’t be doing this:

The family of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. has charged the foundation building a monument to the civil rights leader on the National Mall about $800,000 for the use of his words and image – an arrangement one leading scholar says King would have found offensive.

mlkmonument.jpg

The memorial – including a 28-foot sculpture depicting King emerging from a chunk of granite – is being paid for almost entirely with private money in a fundraising campaign led by the Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial Project Foundation. The monument will be turned over to the National Park Service once it is complete.
The foundation has been paying the King family for the use of his words and image in its fundraising materials. . . .
“I don’t think the Jefferson family, the Lincoln family … I don’t think any other group of family ancestors has been paid a licensing fee for a memorial in Washington,” said Cambridge University historian David Garrow, who won a Pulitzer Prize for his biography of King. “One would think any family would be so thrilled to have their forefather celebrated and memorialized in D.C. that it would never dawn on them to ask for a penny.”
King would have been “absolutely scandalized by the profiteering behavior of his children,” Garrow said.
According to financial documents reviewed by The Associated Press, the foundation paid $761,160 in 2007 to Intellectual Properties Management Inc., an entity run by King’s family. Documents also show a “management” fee of $71,700 was paid to the family estate in 2003. . . .
In the 1990s, the family reached settlements with USA Today and CBS over their use of King’s “I Have a Dream” speech without permission. . . . But historians and the National Park Service said they are not aware of any other case in which builders of a national monument had to license the image of their subject.

And it’s not just me and David Garrow who think this is objectionable.
It’s also Black commentator Cynthia Tucker, Editorial Page Editor of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The project’s organizers have also been subjected to the exquisite torture of dealing with the King family, which has demanded tribute even as fund-raisers have struggled to raise $120 million for construction. The Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial Project Foundation recently disclosed that it had paid the King heirs $800,000 to use their father’s image and likeness in its fund-raising.
Never mind that the King memorial will be the first built on the National Mall commemorating a black person. Never mind that the memorial will represent widespread national recognition of King’s contributions to American democracy.
And never mind that the revelations of this extortion may well curb the enthusiasm – and close the wallets – of potential donors. While Henry Johnson, president of the foundation, went out of his way to say the money paid to the Kings was not a problem, one major donor asked that its funds not be used to pay the King estate.
“We think the memorial is an important and overdue recognition, but we really don’t want to get involved with relationships with the family and their estate,” Rebecca Rimel, president and CEO of the Pew Charitable Trusts, told reporters. Pew has donated $1 million.
If news of this latest money-grab is surprising, it shouldn’t be. King’s heirs have spent their adult lives turning their father’s legacy into a profit center. No books about King may be written, no songs about him sung, no museums dedicated to his memory unless money is paid to those greedy, grasping King children.

The whole thing reminds me of the Rosa Parks story–the real Rosa Parks story you never hear about her greedy family which didn’t know her when she was alive.
While the entire cadre of civil rights movement race merchants constantly trot out the name of Rosa Parks and the images of her refusing to get up from her seat on the bus, they ignored her poverty and destitute state during the last decades of her life.
When a story ran in the Detroit papers about how Rosa Parks was broke, frail from illness and aging, and about to be evicted from her apartment in a bad section of Detroit, no-one in the civil rights trade could be bothered to help her. Nor would any of Rosa Parks family members bother to help her.
Instead, two wealthy Jews–you know the evil Zionist Jew crackers, Max Fisher and A. Alfred Taubman, gave Rosa Parks a fancy apartment, rent-free for the rest of her life, in a luxe development on the Detroit River. They also gave her regular, generous stipends for food and paid for her to be cared for and have live-in help.
But, at Rosa Parks funeral, suddenly all the race merchants–Farrakhan, Sharpton, Jackson, Jeremiah Wright–were there to show they were down with the Rosa Parks legacy, so down with it that they couldn’t bother to help her when she was alive. Ditto for all of Parks’ family members. It was the White Zionist Jew interlopers who took care of her.
It was with this in mind that I laughed to myself each time I read cover stories in the Detroit papers about Parks “beloved” family members fighting over the rights to her estate, so they could make millions licensing out her name and image. You know, the same name and image none of ’em refused to set foot near, when she was alive, sick, and about to be kicked out of her home.
Yup, “cha-ching” is the universal sound that brings the families of deceased civil rights leaders to their sudden “nobility” and righteousness, once their family members are but disintegrated remains.
Yes, greed is good. But only to a point.

I Read Trash, So You Don’t Have To: People Magazine Gay Marriage Immigration Sob Story

By Debbie Schlussel
As I’ve frequently written on this site, an important reason to be against legalized gay marriage–other than the moral reasons–is that people will abuse this to get green cards and U.S. citizenship. It’s already been done.
And sorry, but I really can’t shed a single tear for gay and lesbian illegal aliens who are here in violation of the law, after they overstayed student or tourist visas or snuck in.
But you can’t say the same for People Magazine, the official reading material for Americans of the sixth grade reading level.
The April 20th issue of People Magazine features this sob story about lesbian Shirley Tan, who overstayed a tourist visa for 23 YEARS! In 1986, she came here on a tourist visa and stayed, despite a final deportation order. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents came to deport her in January, but like most other illegal aliens, she gamed the system and won a stay of deportation until tomorrow.

peoplegayimmigration.jpg

peoplegayimmigration2.jpg
peoplegayimmigration3.jpg

Let’s hope that ICE swoops in to take her at that time. But, don’t worry, she’s already given birth to twin anchor babies, using her lesbian lovers eggs.
Now, after living here illegally for 23 years, she’s whining that gays can’t get married. Well, ya know, chickie (at least, we think that’s what you are), you had 23 years to figure that out. Yet, you chose to stay here, have children, and now that you’ve gamed us for over two decades, you’re whining you can’t game us more?
Buh-bye, and good riddance.
Sorry, but giving citizenship to thousands of gay illegal aliens–People claims there are 8,500 same-sex couples seeking immigration rights–is no reason to legalize gay marriage. It’s yet another reason NOT to.
Despite People’s propaganda and clear agenda to the contrary, tell your Congressman and Senators to vote against the Uniting American Families Act, which simply awards amnesty to illegal alien sperm, womb, and egg donors of anchor babies and people who play for the other team.

Good News: More Potential “Love” in the Islamic World

By Debbie Schlussel
With so many reports of animals raped by members of the “Religion of Peace,” back in the old country, this is the best news our friends in the Islamic world have heard all century. In fact, this is a people whose clerics brag about how they warred each other when some of them raped a female camel (“the female camel was humiliated, and they warred to defend her honor”). Alhamdillullah [praise allah], the brothers in Dubai have figured out a way to clone sex partners.

Scientists in Dubai say they have created the world’s first cloned camel, according to reports in United Arab Emirates newspapers.
Gulf News quotes the director of Dubai’s Camel Reproduction Center as saying the achievement will save a rare species from becoming instinct and “gives a means of preserving the valuable genetics of our elite racing and milk-producing camels in the future.”
The BBC, quoting UAE papers, says Injaz, a female one-humped camel, was born last week after more than five years of work. Scientists say DNA taken from a cell in the ovary of an adult camel was put into an egg from a surrogate mother.

muslimsoncamels.jpg

According to one of the UAE papers, the donor camel was killed for its meat in 2005, but its DNA was preserved.

Like Jay Leno used to say in the Frito Lay chip ads:

If you run out, don’t worry. We’ll make more.

Sounds like a great new slogan for the Camel Reproduction Center.
