On Friday Morning, I showed you video of Mike Sola telling off Hezbollah’s Congressman, John Dingell, about his absurd ObamaCare bill.  Sola was the man whose son was in a wheelchair and has cerebral palsy.

Today, there’s a nice interview with him in the Detroit Free Press.  I admire this man’s courage (even with police sicced on him by Dingell), and the fact that he is honest.  He admits that the health insurance he has (and that most people have) is bad, but notes–as all of us opposed to ObamaCare know–that government health care is far worse.  He shouldn’t be sorry he went to the event.  He did us all a service.

Sitting in his home in semirural Washtenaw County, Sola was calm and reflective. He rubbed his head with his ham-like hands. Since the hearing, he’s gotten some hang-up calls. His mailbox was damaged during the weekend. He has heard some noises at night and is not sleeping well.

Last week, I told you about far-left Code Pink’s anti-Israel campaign tactics that succeeded in getting “Sex and the City” star Kristin Davis fired as OxFam spokeschick because she endorses Israeli cosmetics company, Ahava.  As I noted OxSHAM is anti-Israel and feeds terrorists, in addition to supporting the boycott of Israeli products.

Now the ugly chicks from Code Pinko have stepped up their attacks on Israel and Ahava, invading Sephora cosmetics stores, such as this one in Paris in July.  Like I said, they’re mostly ugly (just like their tactics, behavior, and Nazi-esque views), and one other thing:  White (and pan-Muslim) women can’t dance . . . or sing.  They could use a Sephora makeover STAT. Oh, and Michael Jackson called. He wants his song back.

This is one of those things that makes you feel old.  But it’s especially auspicious, since we’re now in a statist trend in America, under a big brother President.

Yesterday, August 10th, was the official 25th anniversary of an important movie, “Red Dawn,” which depicts a Soviet Communist invasion of America and a band of American teens–the “Wolverines”–who heroically fight them off. It was released on August 10, 1984 amidst the Reagan Revolution.  And in many ways it was symbolic of why it was so important for the Reagan Era to succeed over Communism.

Although it was panned by many critics (a/k/a liberals) at the time, “Red Dawn” is a great movie that stands the test of time . . . if you realize that the Communist threat of yesterday in the movie could easily be the Islamic threat of today, taking over our country unless we stop them. Only a few years after “Red Dawn” came out, the Soviet Union fell. But several of the Communist leaders on our own Western Hemisphere, in Latin America, who were around then–like Nicaragua’s Daniel Ortega–are back or have been replaced by far worse, such as Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez and Bolivia’s Evo Morales.

It’s yet another episode of  I Read the Chick Mags So You Don’t Have To.  Fashion tips from liberals are generally to be ignored–unless you want to be a fashion victim.  And, hey, they are the experts in every type of victimhood, including that one.

Check out this “3 Tees Every Woman Should Own” feature in the September issue of Glamour Magazine.  Sorry, but wearing a photo of the master government enslaver-in-chief on your chest isn’t glamorous by any stretch . . . even if it’s in flourescent colors (all the more revolting and garish).  Oh, and contrary to what the liberal Glamour editors claim, there ain’t nothin’ “cute” about it.

Well, at least, this “Statist-in-Chief Chic” is consistent. The people pushing us on this are the same ones who pimped us on Che Chic, Mao Chic, Keffiyeh Chic/Islamic Terrorist Chic, Hijab/Niqab/Burqa Chic (see here also), and Communist Chic. This–Hope ‘N’ Change Chic–is just more of the same.

And just as hideous.

The left always tells us that “protest is very American.”  We heard it throughout their anti-war protests.  We heard it when they opposed the patriot act.  We constantly hear it from them.

Nancy Pelosi, Steny Hoyer:  Free Speech “Un-American”

Except. . . except when they find that those doing the protests are suddenly Americans who are opposed to them and their policies.

I couldn’t stop laughing, this morning, when I read my USA Today and happened on the usually boring, waste-of-time op-ed page and found two fertilized columns of print by Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer, telling us that protests against ObamaCare socialized medicine are “Un-American Attacks” (and that’s just from the headline).  Apparently the shoe hurts when it’s on the other foot.

It’s not just the complete hypocrisy and utter baloney they’re pushing about protest being “un-American.”    It’s that they’re telling us that “Americans have been waiting” for this nationalized healthcare “for nearly a century.”

Really?  That’s news to me.  Because I don’t see mass protests FOR socialized medicine.  (The closest thing I’ve ever seen to that is one rich fat guy (Michael Moore) doing a lying “documentary” (“Sicko”–read my review) that came and went.  The protests I do see are those of middle Americans, regular Joes outraged that we could become like Britain, and our healthcare could be rationed.

Is it just me . . . or did you notice the first contestant on last night’s prime-time return of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” was a complete moron?  The show, hosted by Regis Philbin, returned to ABC, last night, to mark its tenth anniversary.

The contestant, Brad Abbey, is symbolic of how stupid today’s 20-somethings are.  He couldn’t figure out the answer to the second question, and usually the first three questions are extremely easy.  The question was, which Crayola crayon color takes its name from the song, “America the Beautiful”?  The very obvious answer was “Purple Mountain’s Majesty,” and none of the other answers came even close to the lyrics of “America the Beautiful.”

Sorry for the movie reviews being posted so late, but I had a lot going on behind the scenes today.

*  “G.I. Joe:  The Rise of Cobra“:  This wasn’t screened for critics (a sign it’s crap), so I paid to see it.  And it wasn’t worth it.   Great special effects, lots of action, chases, killing, and fighting, but a completely stupid and boring story.  So much action, so little insomnia (meaning the opposite–it’s a yawner).

The most disappointing thing about this movie is that almost everything American has been whitewashed from it.  You’d hardly know any of these people in the movie are Americans other than some of them speak English, most with a bad foreign accent (and the White Ebonics mumbling guy–star Channing Tatum).  And that’s no surprise, given that director Stephen Sommers said they were deleting all the “rah-rah American” stuff from the foreign ads for the movie (and dissed Vietnam Vets).  Well, guess what?  They already deleted the “rah-rah American” stuff in the movie, itself.  There’s nothing American about it, but for a couple brief scenes of the White House and the President, and a tiny script on the screen at the beginning noting that the G.I. Joe’s were at NATO (and that’s not even American, though we’re a member and founded it).  So tiny, and yet it’ll probably be deleted from the movie for the foreigners.

You know what is in it, though?  One of the heroic main characters–one of the G.I. Joe’s is an Arab from Morocco (who wears a keffiyeh the whole time), played by Arab Muslim Said Taghmaoui who has been in a number of anti-Israel movies.  Oh, and why is Channing Tatum–an American soldier and G.I. Joe–wearing a keffiyeh for like half the movie when he isn’t in a Muslim country or fighting Muslims anywhere in the movie?  To get a ton of Arab cha-ching, when this is shown in the Muslim world.  Cha-ching, whoredom.
