Gay Ice Cream: Ben & Jerry’s Hubby-Hubby From Cindy Sheehan’s Friends

By Debbie Schlussel

I’m not surprised that Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream changed the name of  its Chubby Hubby ice cream to Hubby Hubby, in solidarity with gays who’ve attained legalized marriage in Vermont (home of B&J’s) and are seeking it elsewhere.  For Ben & Jerry’s, this in-your-face left-wing politics is nothing new.  It’s why–in addition to its high-calorie content–I stay away from Ben & Jerry’s (if you must eat ice cream, Haagen Dazs doesn’t have these politics).

hubbyhubby

As I’ve informed you in the past, even though the original Ben and Jerry sold the company to a giant conglomerate, they continue to hold massive amounts of stock in the company.  And the company continues to donate 1% or so of its profits to left-wing “charities” and causes.  And as I’ve also noted, Ben Cohen’s foundation funded the gazillion dollar PR machine for Cindy Sheehan a/k/a Jihad Cindy #2’s pan-Marxist activities.

Cohen’s foundation also helps ANSWER, a neo-Marxist group that promotes Islamic terrorism.  And don’t forget, the company’s re-enactment–last year–of John Lennon’s and Yoko Ono’s anti-war “Peace Bed-In,” featuring the homely Maggie Gyllenhaal (who said America deserved the 9/11 attacks) and a guy who runs summer camps  with the central theme that Islamic terrorists and their Jewish victims are morally equivalent.

And the Ben & Jerry’s company, itself, still has it’s own foundation, which you fund when  you buy B&J’s.  Check out this list of recipients for the first quarter of 2009.  It reads like a who’s who of far-left activism and destroy-America-from-within groups, including support for illegal aliens, community organizing, an anti-marriage group, a foundation that helps teachers turn elementary and middle school kids into far-left critics “of their social and political landscape,”  and the Oregon Chapter of Physicians for Social Responsibility.  That last one is incredibly ironic and hypocritical, since PSR is vehemently against consumption of milk and dairy products–the mainstay of B&J’s.

So, now, there’s Hubby Hubby, and apparently that’s the only revamped name they’re telling you about.  Here are some of Ben & Jerry’s other new gay flavors:

VIDEO of the Day: You Stay Classy, JFK Granddaughter

By Debbie Schlussel

More proof that neither all the power nor the money in the world buys you class.  Here, it’s amply demonstrated to us by Ted Kennedy’s great-niece and President John F. Kennedy’s granddaughter, Rose Kennedy Schlossberg (daughter of Caroline Kennedy), demonstrates.  As much as I dislike Jenna Bush Hager, there hasn’t been nearly the fuss about this as there was about her sticking her tongue out at the press.  And this spoiled Kennedy (redundant) is doing this to the “little people” who are mourning her great-uncle.  Disgusting.

Full disclosure: I am related, by marriage of a close relative, to Maurice Tempelsman, the late Jackie O’s companion–yes, the grandmother of this middle-finger-salute-at-a-funeral brat. He is my uncle’s uncle (and he contributed to both my campaigns for the Michigan House–I think I was the only Republican to whom he’s ever given). He invested Kennedy Onassis’ money and made her two kids–JFK, Jr. and Caroline–very rich (while the rest of the Kennedy family’s fortune was far, far less). As a result, this little snot-nosed brat will, sadly, be provided for and will never need (dead uncle JFK, Jr. apparently left her and  her sibling $100 million to split). Given that, expect more one finger salutes from her in the future.  Oh, and by the way, she attends Harvard and is friends with Lindsay Lohan.  Shocker.

If this is American royalty, I prefer American trailer park residents.  Apologies to the many decent, hard-working, less fortunate people who live in trailer parks and don’t act the way Kennedys do.

Thanks to reader Jean for the tip.

Saw These in the Last Two Days

By Debbie Schlussel

It’s one of those rare weekdays on which I’ve stayed away from my site for most of the day.  Sorry.  Just couldn’t be helped.  Between four movie screenings (I skipped a fifth, “The September Issue”–a fashion documentary), lotsa important meetings, and other necessary stuff, it was killing me that I was away.  But I’m back, and will put up some interesting new stuff soon.

In the meantime, here’s what I saw in the last two days.  See if you can guess which one I loved and which one I absolutely hated. “Extract” is a Mike Judge project, so that might be a hint .  . . or maybe not.  Keep checking my site during the week and on Friday for my regular movie reviews.

Tim James: A Patriot On & Now Off the Court

By Debbie Schlussel

If the name, Tim James, sounds familiar to you, it’s probably because he was a 1999 first round draft pick of the Miami Heat in the NBA draft.  He was drafted 25th overall by the Heat and played for that team, the then-Charlotte Hornets, and the Philadelphia 76ers.

timjamesusarmytimjames

Now, he is serving America as an enlisted soldier in the U.S. Army, and he’s stationed in Iraq.  It’s a refreshing contrast with modern-day NBA players who are too busy procuring groupies, acting like they’re in rap videos, and doing other things that are detrimental to American life.  Though he wasn’t a huge NBA star and didn’t start games, James made several million dollars, and he could choose an easy life now raising his son.  But he chose this, instead.

The former University of Miami basketball star and former Miami Heat first-round pick enlisted in the Army a year ago, at the age of 31, and now he finds himself in the dusty, dirty center of a war. . . .

He made almost $2.5 million playing for the Heat, Hornets and 76ers. The Heat’s per diem of $113 means an NBA player gets more in meal money a season than the $2,000 a soldier of James’ specialist rank will earn in a month. More than triple, actually.

And James earned plenty playing professionally in Japan, Turkey and Israel, too. But as he traveled all over the globe playing his beloved game, seeing a world he never thought he’d see growing up poor in Miami, he didn’t learn to merely value or appreciate America’s freedoms. He decided he wanted to fight to protect them, too. . . .

James hasn’t shared his past with fellow soldiers. Quiet, remember? Humble, too. He wanted to be just another teammate. So none of James’ fellow soldiers knew he used to play pro basketball, though they all said he should have after he scorched those younger soldiers in a pickup game one day during training. He didn’t tell them after that, either. . . .

“To be able to support and defend freedom gives me great joy. A lot of people have died for something many Americans take for granted. I wake up every day knowing I’m doing something important with my life. This is so fulfilling. Keeping our country safe gives me great purpose.”

Awful Close: Israeli Arab Indicted for Spying on #1 IDF Soldier for Hezbollah

By Debbie Schlussel

The biggest shocker in this story is not that an Arab resident of Israel–23-year-old Rawi Sultani– spied on Israel for an Islamic terrorist group.  There are plenty more where he came from and I’m confident we have plenty here in the United States, not just Nada Nadim Prouty.

Rawi Sultani Spied For Hezbollah on IDF’s Ashkenazi @ Gym

The biggest shocker is that Gabi Ashkenazi, Chief of Staff of the IDF, would work out at a publicly-accessible gym and not in a special Israeli military gym.  You’d think the Israelis would be more security conscious than that for his safety.  But you’d be wrong.  (Not that we do it differently here.  I worked out at the same gym as the Michigan FBI chief, but the only “intelligence” I reported on this site was that he never cleaned up the treadmills after he drenched them with his sweat.  He worked out there, despite the FBI’s own very well-equpped and secure gym–can’t be caught working out with the little people agents.)

Sultani, arrested following a complex and involved investigation carried out by the International Crimes National Investigation Unit, was indicted for offences against national security, including transferring information for the benefit of the enemy, contact with a foreign agent, and conspiring to commit a crime.

Sultani, who works out at the same gym as the chief of staff in Kfar Saba, passed on information to his Hezbollah operators via email and meetings abroad. . . .

According to the indictment issued by the Central District Prosecution, initial contact between Sultani and a Hezbollah operative was made when Sultani attended a youth camp in Morocco in August 2008. While there, he befriended Salman Harb, a Lebanese youth who reportedly revealed to him that he was active in Hezbollah. During their meeting, Sultani told the operative that he works out at the same gym as the IDF chief of staff. At this stage, he was not asked to take any action, only to stay in contact with the Hezbollah youth.

David Cassidy: Yet Another Sleazy Hollywood Dad Pimping His Daughter; Likes Lesbian Kissing Scene

By Debbie Schlussel

**** SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATE ****

Longtime readers know I’ve been disgusted (but not surprised) by several sleazy Hollywood dads who pimp their daughters out for dollars.  It’s sick, and it’s part of the problem of why America’s kids are becoming sexualized and sexually active at younger and younger ages.  Hollywood fathers (and mothers) don’t have values.  And they don’t give a second thought to selling their daughter’s flesh for money. . . or a second thought about how it dumbs down American culture.

davidcassidykatiecassidy

Non-Parent/Pimpdaddy David Cassidy & Daughter Katie Cassidy

It’s not just Miley Cyrus’ dad (and Sean Vannity friend), Billy Ray Cyrus–who helped his daughter plan and design her stripper pole gyrations on the “Teen Choice Awards.”  It’s also Jessica Simpson’s dad, Joe Simpson, talking about his daughter’s “Double Ds” like he’s gushing over a Playboy centerford.  And Britney Spears’ father, who talked about his daughter’s physique, too (but was nowhere to be found when she was drugging it up with two sleazy Muslim hanger-on-ers).  These, um, “dads” are creepy.

And now it’s absentee dad a/k/a sperm donor David Cassidy.  He brags that because he didn’t have custody of her, he “didn’t parent” his daughter, Katie Cassidy, star of this fall’s CW network re-do of the TV series “Melrose Place.”  And he thinks it’s cool that his beautiful 22-year-old is in a lesbian kissing scene.  The conceited Cassidy seems to be more concerned with the fact that some misguided women still idolize him.  Whatta schmuck. Here are a few excerpts of an interview the father-daughter duo did for the Sept. 7th issue of People:

New NBC “Reporter” Jenna Bush Hager Must Leave Anti-American / Anti-Israel UNICEF Board

By Debbie Schlussel

Jenna Bush Hager–the uber-liberal daughter of former President George Bush (who apparently voted for Obama, as she wouldn’t say she was voting for McCain)–is now NBC News’ latest “reporter.” She’ll be contributing stories to NBC News’ “Today Show.”

jennabushunderwear2.jpgjennabushpartying.jpg

New NBC Reporter Jenna Bush Hager

My problem with that is not Ms. Hager’s habit of changing panties in public, or that she compared herself to Anne Frank for writing a liberal “children’s” book, scaring kids and beseeching them to give tolerance to the book’s heroine, a slutty single teen mother with AIDS (the book was “launched” by UNICEF).  Yes, I have a problem with those things (and have noted them on this site previously), but they’re par for the course among the views of NBC’s liberal elitist cadre of reporters, with whom she’ll fit right in.

My problem with her reporting for NBC is that Jenna Bush Hager has a huge conflict of interest.  She remains “Chair” of a UNICEF organization, UNICEF’s “Next Generation,” and she also remains a UNICEF “Young Leadership Ambassador.”  Yes, that UNICEF–the anti-Israel organization that “feeds the children” of HAMAS from cradle to grave and which is controlled by the same third-world, anti-American  countries which dominate the United Nations.  Last year, UNICEF banned large donor Lev Leviev, because he built homes for Jews in the so-called West Bank.  (Yes, UNICEF believes in redlining against Jews.)  And don’t forget UNICEF’s funding of anti-Israel propaganda, Palestinian camps for kids named for homicide bombers, as acceptance of donations from the Al-Qaeda front group, International Islamic Relief Organization.

Wknd Read: 80 Years Ago, There Was No Israel; But Muslims Massacred Jews Anyway

By Debbie Schlussel

Meant to put this up, Friday, but didn’t get to it.

Eighty years ago, this past week, there was no Israel.  Israel is constantly the excuse we hear for Islamic violence against Jews, America, and the rest of the West.  But what happened 80 years ago is yet more evidence that this specious argument is absolute bunk.  Islam has always been violent and intolerant of others, and it will always be as such.  Whether or not there is an Israel is of no consequence to that fact.

hebronmassacre

And the 1929 Hebron Massacre, which occurred August 23-24, 1929, is yet another example throughout the history of the Islamic religion.

On Thursday, Jerold S. Auerbach, author of “Hebron Jews:  Memory and Conflict in the Land of Israel,” had an excellent piece in the Wall Street Journal, remembering this pogrom that Muslims fomented on Jews in Hebron.  An excerpt:

Until 1929, Jews had lived in Hebron for three millennia. There, according to Jewish tradition, Abraham purchased the cave of Machpelah to bury Sarah. It was the first parcel of land owned by the Jewish people in their promised land. Ever since, religious Jews revered Hebron as the burial site of their matriarchs and patriarchs. Conquered, massacred and expelled over the centuries, Jews always returned to this sacred place. . . .

It began on Friday afternoon when Arabs attacked Jews with clubs and murdered a yeshiva student. The next morning, joined by local villagers, Arabs swarmed through Hebron screaming “Kill the Jews.” They broke into the home of Eliezer Dan Slonim, where many Jews had gathered for safety. There they wielded knives and axes to murder 22 innocents. In the Anglo-Palestine Bank, where 23 corpses were discovered, blood covered the tile floor. That day, three children under the age of five were murdered. Teenage girls, their mothers and grandmothers were raped and killed. Rabbis and their students were castrated before they were slain. A surviving yeshiva student recounted that he “had seen greater horrors than Dante in hell.”

When the slaughter finally subsided, 67 Jews had been murdered. Three days later, British soldiers evacuated 484 survivors, including 153 children, to Jerusalem. The butchery in Hebron, Zionist and religious officials alleged, was “without equal in the history of the country since the destruction of the Temple.” Sir Walter Shaw, chairman of an exhaustive British royal investigation, concluded that “unspeakable atrocities” had occurred.

Read the whole thing.  And remember, it CAN–and WILL–happen here, so long as Islamic immigration to America continues.

“Religion of Peace.”  Uh-huh.

Oh, and by the way, Hebron–the home of Abraham and the location where the patriarchs of Judaism are buried–is on the “chopping block.”  If there is a “Palestinian” state established for these descendants of the Islamic thugs who mass-murdered in 1929 (and before and thereafter), Hebron is slated to be given to them.

Movies I Like: Weekend Box Office Rental

By Debbie Schlussel

Most of the movies out this weekend did not have critics screenings, and  you can guess why.  As I’ve noted, time and again, August is the cinema cemetery, where bad movies are sent to die a quick death and get buried even before rigor mortis sets in.  There was only one screening–for “Taking Woodstock.”  And you didn’t really expect me to sit through the big screen glorification of ’60s hippies doing drugs, getting naked and muddy, and achieving nothing at Max Yasgur’s farm, did you?

So this week, I have two video rental suggestions–two movies I liked, movies to which I give FOUR REAGANS:

ritchieboyscriminal

*  “The Ritchie Boys“:  I’ll try to post a complete review of this, next week.  But if you liked “Inglourious Basterds” (read my review), you’ll love this Academy Award-nominated documentary, which aired on the Military Channel.

It’s about real-life American Jewish soldiers who emigrated from Europe and then were recruited to invade Nazi Europe as spies for America.  Unlike in “Basterds,” they didn’t scalp any Nazis.  But they sabotaged their operations and helped America and the Allies win the war.  And their exploits and enthusiasm are entertaining.  One of “the Ritchie Boys,” Guy Stern, is a family who lives in the Detroit area. My friend, David Karp, is an uncredited executive producer of the movie and got the funding for the movie.

FOUR REAGANS
reagancowboyreagancowboyreagancowboyreagancowboy

*  “Criminal“:  If you liked “Matchstick Men, ” you’ll love this.  A caper movie about two con men who partner up to do a giant con on a billionaire, this is fun, light, and entertaining.  It’s exactly what movies are supposed to be–enjoyable escapism.

John C. Reilly (of whom I’m normally not a huge fan) and Diego Luna are the confidence men, who pull off a number of fun-to-watch scams before they try for the big score.  You’ll have to ignore that the homely, America-hating Maggie Gyllenhaal (she said America deserved the 9/11 terrorist attacks) has a costarring role.  She’s really a very minor part of the movie.

At just over one-and-a-half hours, the movie is just right.  And you’ll never guess the ending.  Worth the trip to the rental store (or the wait to get your online order).  Rated “R” for suggestive dialogue and four-letter words.  (Not for kids.)
