Important News Story of the Day

By Debbie Schlussel

Today’s Wall Street Journal front page brings us the most important news story of the day:  that Tom DeLay didn’t use spray tan for his abs while on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars.” Now that we know this the world can go on. (And we also see what’s happened to the WSJ under Rupert Murdoch’s ownership–more stories like this.)

Tom DeLay Wants You To Know: No Six Pack Abs Spray Tan

I liked Tom DeLay, who was extremely villainized as GOP leader in the House merely because he was an outspoken conservative.  The same goes for his trumped up, going-nowhere indictment (though his and his wife’s entanglements with sleazebag Jack Abramoff was troubling).  But his appearance on “DWtS” was a mistake.  Stupid.  Unfortunately, his ego got in the way of reason, and he couldn’t say no.  The results:  even though his appearance on the show is long over and gone, his picture is front and center on the cover of the Journal along with a sub-headline that’s brainless.  And here’s the, um, “meat” of the article:

In the world of television, Fiona Locke is a special-effects expert. She doesn’t blow up buildings or choreograph car crashes. Ms. Locke wields an airbrush gun filled with a brown liquid. She makes people tan and fit-looking. . . .  “Dancing With the Stars” producers advise contestants to get sprayed down the Sunday before each televised competition.

Mr. DeLay received bronzer on his face before stress fractures in both his feet caused him to quit “Dancing With the Stars” after just three weeks. He said he has an unwritten deal with ABC that costumes not show his “beautiful body.”

ObamaCare, Anti-Christian E-Mail of the Day

By Debbie Schlussel

I wish I could say I only get e-mails like this from the left–from which the one below clearly emanates–and Muslims.  Sadly, I now get plenty of the same thing from Sarah Palin supporters, not to mention The Simpsons and Dexter fans (and I love “The Simpsons,” by the way).

NOT!  You dirty malignant c*nt [DS:  C-word asterisk inserted by me].  I hope that on your way to church next week a big statue of jesus falls on your car and knocks you out.  And then while you’re unconscious you dream that jesus tells you that he’s not real and the whole thing was a big scam from the start.  Then you will know what most of us already know.

I’ll let you get back to your praying and racisming whatever else you do.

Regards,

Phil.

You stay classy, Phil.

Grammar, punctuation, religious tolerance, and well-wishes for a peaceful existence without violence or harm. Yup, Phil’s letter has it all. Plus, I guess he missed that tiny detail that I’m a Jew.

Buh-Bye, Oprah & DLtDHYotWO*

By Debbie Schlussel

Yesterday, word leaked that Oprah Winfrey was to announce, today, that her daytime TV talk show would end in September 2011.

Many readers have asked me about this, since I own the domain name/URL OprahSucks.com, and since I regularly monitor and lambaste the propaganda spews forth on her show and in her magazine with my regular “HOprah Watch” updates.  My criticism of Oprah has appeared on FOX News, MSNBC, and USA Today, among other mainstream media outlets.  And I’ve taken to calling her by a more appropriate title, “HRHSBotU”–Her Royal Highness Supreme Being of the Universe.  Though, I’m not sure if even the universe can contain that undue ego.

Frankly, I’m happy to see Oprah go.  And here’s why:

Eric Holder & the Muslim Extremists in Detroit

By Debbie Schlussel

As I told  you more than a week ago, Barack Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder was scheduled to speak, last night, to the usual suspects in the Detroit-area Islamic community, including CAIR and my “buddy,” “former” Islamic terrorist, marriage and immigration fraud perpetrator, and FBI award revokee, Imad Hamad.  I’m THE authority on Hamad, stopped that FBI award, and I’ve monitored and written a ton about him over more than a decade of following him (and being endlessly stalked by him).  As I predicted, Holder pandered to the crowd and spoke Hamad’s “language.”

Obama AG Eric Holder Hangs With/Panders To Islamic Terrorist Imad Hamad

(Hamadafat by Six Meat Buffet/Preston Taylor Holmes)

But as I’ve also noted, this isn’t anything new.  For the past week, the CIA has been in town (Dearbornistan, to be exact), heavily recruiting Arab Muslims and other Muslims, claiming they need these people as Arabic linguists and “to understand the culture.”  But the CIA continues to forsake the Christian Arab community and reject them as linguists and cultural advisors and consultants.  It’s disgusting.  But not anything I didn’t tell you about when CIA Director Leon Panetta was in town pandering to Hamad, Hezbollah agent Osama Siblani, and a host of other extremist cretins who openly praise mass murdering terrorists.

And, as I’ve noted over the years, this ain’t an Obama thing.  This uber-pandering and brown-nosing of the most extreme Muslims in Detroit was begun by George W. Bush, when he was campaigning for President and sought (and got) the Muslim endorsement and after 9/11 and for his entire Presidency, when he sought to pander even more.  It was in 2003 that I stopped the FBI from giving Hamad a national award at the J. Edgar Hoover Building, a move that brought me a lot of attacks from all over the place.  But I didn’t care.  It was the right thing.  Truth won out.  But some people don’t really care so much about the truth.

And, in that vein, it’s interesting–not to mention extremely petty and typical of her extreme egomania–that Michelle Malkin, who noted this, cites Daniel Pipes on Hamad.  She knows I’m THE authority on Hamad.  Like I said and as she well knows, my 2003 New York Post columns exposed Hamad and stopped the FBI award.

Weekend Box Office: Skipworthy “New Moon,” “Blind Side,” “Precious”

By Debbie Schlussel

I did not particularly like any of the new offerings at the box office, this weekend.  They range from atrocious ghetto glorification to cheesy teen heartthrobs to cloying manipulation dressed as a sports movie.  I did not see the animated “Planet 51,” which is getting few positive reviews.  Lots of saccharine this week.  Nothing sweet.

*  “The Twilight Saga:  New Moon“:  It’s no news that this teen drivel is destined to be a multi-gazillion dollar hit.  There’s nothing extremely offensive about this movie, unless you want your daughter to learn it’s fun to jump off cliffs and get on the motorcycle of random street trash when she’s brooding over a boyfriend who left her. . .  and return from all of this unscathed.  Oh, and there’s also the main character worrying ad nauseam that when she gets old, her boyfriend won’t find her attractive anymore.  Isn’t this an issue older women are supposed to be worried about?  Now it’s a teen prob?

Islamic Terrorism & Political Correctness: Cartoon of the Year

By Debbie Schlussel

Yaakov Kirschen, better known as “Dry Bones,” is Israel’s most prolific and well-known political cartoonist.  I’ve enjoyed many of his right-on-target cartoons over the years.  Reader Raymond sent me this one, below, “The Islamist and the Non-Believer,” which has to be the political cartoon of the year.  It says it all about the PC crowd in America and beyond.  Read the Dry Bones Blog, where you’ll see new cartoons just like it, every day.  And, as you can see from this cartoon, you don’t need to be Jewish or Israeli to appreciate his cartoons, which deal with a number of American political and pop culture lifestyle issues, too.

New Moon Absurdity: The “Cougar” Thing’s Gone Way Too Far

By Debbie Schlussel

Last night, I attended a screening of “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” the second cinematic installment in the “Twilight” book series that is all the rage for straight teen females.  I can’t post my review until Midnight, when the movie debuts, and I’ll try to have it up by that time.  Stay tuned for that.

newmoon

What got me were not the many teen girls in the long lines to get into the screenings or their screams at the sight of the male 20-something co-stars in the movie.  (Though, I really don’t think I was this bad as a young kid when I liked Sean Cassidy in “The Hardy Boys” or as a teen when I liked Rick Springfield and Duran Duran.)

What got me–what I found kinda laughable and pathetic–were the many (yes, many!) grown women who lined up for this and were all gaga over it.  We’re talking 30-, 40-, and even 50-something women who go to a movie to see a 17-year-old (who was 16 at the time it was filmed) take his shirt off and show his chest.  Isn’t there something illegal about this . . . or at least, unseemly?

Quote of the Day & Style v Substance: Whining Over Obama’s Meaningless Chanukah Party

By Debbie Schlussel

But William Daroff, Washington director of the Jewish Federations of North America, said that size isn’t what matters.

No, this quote isn’t about penis size (though it is kind of funny to read, especially b/c I know Daroff and he’s usually smarter than that). It’s about the size of this year’s White House Chanukah party, which the Obama Administration has shrunken in half. Several Jewish readers have e-mailed me, complaining about this.

menorahwhitehouse

But I really don’t care about the size of the party. Obama isn’t Jewish. And as I said around Passover time, when Obama hosted an unkosher Seder–the first White House Seder–at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, I really don’t think there should be White House Ramadan Iftar dinners, Chanukah parties, or anything else, other than the lighting of the White House Christmas Tree and a Christmas Party. But both the Jerusalem Post and Politico are whining about this, along with a lot of Jews I know.

Stop the whining.  This party is meaningless.  And here’s why:

Finally, a Palestinian “Charity” Tells The Truth

By Debbie Schlussel

We’ve long known that Palestinian and other Islamic charities are frauds and simply conduits to fund Islamic terrorism.  It’s not just the Holy Land Foundation or other big ones, like Al-Mabarat or LIFE For Relief and Development, which I’ve written about on this site.  It’s basically all of them.

hamaslogo.jpg

Waad “Charity” Openly Does HAMAS’ Bidding, Solicits Kidnap of Israeli Soldiers

Now, though, at least one of these “charities” is finally coming clean and honestly and openly proclaiming what they’re really all about.

A Gaza charity headed by the interior minister of Hamas yesterday offered $1.4 million to any Arab citizen of Israel who abducts an Israeli soldier. Palestinians have frequently called on Israeli Arabs to abduct soldiers, but this is the first time money has been offered.

The Waad group from Gaza offered the bounty in an e-mail sent to Palestinian media. The organization, which supports Palestinian prisoners held by Israel, is headed by Hamas’ Interior Minister Fathi Hamad. . . .

The Coldness of Barack: Weirdest Obama Story Yet

By Debbie Schlussel

As many have remarked, we know very little about Barack Obama.  And that’s in great part to his own reticence and his own lock on his years at Columbia University (where he had a Muslim roommate and was a drug addict), his thesis, etc.  It’s odd in a day and age where our media works overtime on figures like Sarah Palin who aren’t in the White House, and yet we know next to nothing about the leader of the free world.

And it’s weird.

obamabromark

It seems the weirdest story yet is about yet another one of Barack Obama’s half-brothers.  He seems to have a gazillion of these half-siblings and clearly Barack, Sr. got around almost as much as Wilt Chamberlain.  On Wednesday, President Obama had a meeting with half-bro, Mark Okoth Obama Ndesandjo, who lives in China.
