Best Buy Extends Islamic (But NOT Thanksgiving) Greetings

By Debbie Schlussel

How do you know Muslims have reached critical mass . . . or at least the shrill whine level that gets them uber-pandering?  When giant retailers blatantly cater to them, despite whom it might piss off.  And when it ignores a major American holiday in favor of the Islamic one.  Best Buy has gone down that path, forsaking the American majority for the Islamic minority.

bestbuyeid

If you’re planning on doing your post-Thanksgiving holiday shopping at Best Buy,  you might think twice about carrying any ham or bacon around or even wearing your pigskin boots.  In its latest weekly circular, Best Buy wishes you a Happy Eid Al-Adha .  But Best Buy pointedly does NOT wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. It only asks you to spend Thanksgiving shopping at the store.  Eid Al-Adha is the Islamic festival of sacrifice, one of the two major Islamic holidays.  The other is Eid Al-Fitr.

Schlussel in the News: Baby Mamas in the US Armed Forces; Not a Chick Issue

By Debbie Schlussel

Recently, I noted the incident of a baby mama in the Army who wants to get out of serving so she can take care of her kid.  I called for a ban on single mothers in the military.

Yesterday’s edition of the Memphis Commercial Appeal discussed the issue of single moms in the U.S. armed forces and quoted my piece.

memphiscommercialappealschlusselfoxsmallest

Because of the enormous stress that deployment puts on kids and parents, some argue that single moms should not be allowed to serve in the military.

Conservative pundit Debbie Schlussel recently called for a ban on single mothers in the military because they are “useless soldierettes” and their absence is harmful to their children, she said. Schlussel said deploying single moms “exacts more costs and bureaucratic BS than it’s worth.”

She points to the case of Spc. Alexis Hutchinson, the Oakland, Calif., Army cook who was arrested because she refused to deploy with her unit once her child care arrangements fell through. Hutchinson’s attorney said officers advised the single mom to place her 10-month-old son in foster care while she was deployed. The Army has not confirmed that statement.

Disturbing to me is that the newspaper’s article is labeled “Chick Chat.”  Um, single mothers in the military isn’t a chick issue.  It’s everybody’s issue.  It’s the issue of the other soldiers–male and female–who must make up the slack.  It’s the issue of U.S. taxpayers who bear the burden of helping in the babymama’s kids child care and the kids’ increased likelihood of a life of crime, drugs, and failure as a result of being an illegitimate kid with no father and being sent to a gazillion caretakers while mommy is off into the wild blue yonder.

EXCLUSIVE Analysis: Sorry, Islamophobia Pimps – 67% of US Hate Crimes Against Jews

By Debbie Schlussel

Well, the FBI official hate crimes statistics are out for 2008.  And like every year since the 9/11 Muslim terrorist attacks on America, the vast majority of religious hate crime victims on U.S. soil are America’s . . . Jews. While the Pentagon and US Army did overtime pandering to Muslims like Nidal Malik Hasan, the real hatred was against one set of his mortal enemies.

FBIhatecrimes2008-1

fbihatecrimes2008-2

That’s right.  A whopping 66.69%–or just over 2/3rds–of America’s religion-based hate crime incidents are committed against Jews.  But, hey, there’s no anti-Semitism.  I’m just imagining it.  The real condition afflicting America is Islamophobia, right?  Let’s ignore that only 6.91% of hate crime incidents were against Muslims, with Catholics very close behind comprising 4.94% of hate crime incident victims.  Sadly, some Catholic leaders look the other way on anti-Semitism (more on that below).

Don’t Vote For Kelly Ayotte: GOP Candidate Helped Illegal Aliens

By Debbie Schlussel

Today’s USA Today cover has a picture of New Hampshire U.S. Senate Seat candidate Kelly Ayotte . . . along with her Mr. Mom hubby taking care of the kiddies, which is sad in and of itself.  (Dude surrendered his man card at the door.)  The article is about at-risk Democrats on the defense from Republican candidates in the 2010 mid-term elections.  But Ayotte is exactly the kind of Republican we DON’T need.

kellyayotteandhubby

The Republican Ayotte–who refuses to take hubby Joe Daley’s name–is mildly attractive and claims to be a conservative in her campaign seeking Judd Gregg’s U.S. Senate Seat.  Don’t believe the hype.

Better Sent to Gitmo: Oh, The Movies I Gotta Destroy

By Debbie Schlussel
It’s movie awards time, meaning that as a member of the Detroit Film Critics Society, I have to vote on best movie of the year, best actor, etc.  Every major city has one of these film critics groups, and the decisions get published in the media.  I have UPS and FedEx delivering DVDs to me all day long by various studios, hoping I’ll vote for their movie and take a second look via the DVD.

brokendvd

Sadly, most of the movies are duds, and I can’t give them away or share them with friends.  The studios are very strict.  They’ve digitally watermarked the DVDs and marked them with individual UPC codes.  You have to destroy them or you’ll be banned from their screening lists forever and worse.

If the Races Were Reversed, We’d Be Hearing About This Beyond Denver

By Debbie Schlussel

If White people were targeting Black men at a big city mall in America and beating them senseless and filming it for racial snuff films, I guarantee it’d be a national media story.  In fact, we’d see Presidential campaign commercials vilifying the Republican Presidential nominee with it.  But, sadly, since it’s the other way around here, it remains a news story confined to Denver.  The roles of the races and racism in this case simply don’t fit the mainstream media’s preferred narrative of victims and victimhood.

Where Are the Blacks Against Black Violence?

Peter DeQuattro, a 25-year-old cook, exited the Mall Ride at Civic Center Station around 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 8, after his shift at a Lower Downtown bar.

His next recollection was writhing on a gurney in the back of an ambulance, an eye swollen shut and adrenaline pumping as EMTs struggled to restrain him.

DeQuattro, who is white, was one of the most recent men targeted in a downtown-centered spree of attacks where small groups of black men and youths — many with admitted gang ties — tried to knock out white or Latino men with whacks to the head. They sometimes stole from them or taunted them with racial epithets.

Sleazy Lawyers: Hurricane Katrina was Manmade; Let’s Sue Oil Companies

By Debbie Schlussel

Leave it to sleazy trial lawyers to find a way to tie “climate change”/”global warming” BS with massive lawsuits and Hurricane Katrina.  It was bad enough when the liberal media, Louis Farrakhan, and every loon under the sun blamed the natural disaster of Hurricane Katrina on President Bush.

Now the trial lawyers are blaming it on oil and energy companies.  Because, hey, the price of gas isn’t going up fast enough, and we need to add an extra litigation defense tax to the price.  Cha-ching:

A group of 12 Mississippi Gulf Coast homeowners is using a novel legal strategy to try to recoup losses suffered during Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

The lawsuit seeks damages from a group of 33 energy companies, including ExxonMobil and coal giant Peabody Energy, electric utilities, and other conglomerates for allegedly emitting greenhouse gases that the litigants say contributed to global warming.

TMI Nation: Do We Really Need To Know About Capt. Sully’s Sex Life?

By Debbie Schlussel

Yup, this is what it’s come to in our age of over-sharing, over-exposure, sex tapes that get you on Sean Vannity’s FOX News show (in several cases), and the annoying excess of reality TV shows galore.

Captain Chesley Sullenberger was an instant hero when he landed a plane in the Hudson River and saved his passengers’ lives.  He could have “retired as undefeated champion” by leaving it at that and a book deal.  But he and his wife apparently see themselves as members of the “The Hills”/”Jon & Kate” generation and they’re very obviously afflicted by this bad habit known as TMI.

PC NBA: You Can’t Say That About “Eye-Ran”; FOX Yanks Sportscasters

By Debbie Schlussel

Consider the NBA and FOX part of Barack Obama’s new kinder-gentler strategy on Iran. Yes, the NewsCorp part of FOX that owns FOX News and runs the FOX owned and operated stations. We’re now so politically correct toward the country that sponsors Hezbollah AND Hamas, denies the Holocaust, and hates America, that you can’t even pronounce the word “Iran” as “Eye-Ran,” without getting suspended. And FOX is getting in on the act.

Yes, They Look Alike: Hamed Haddadi & Sacha Baron Cohen

The broadcast network yanked two FOX NBA analysts, Ralph Lawler and Michael Smith, for pronouncing the words, “Iran” and “Iranian,” incorrectly as “Eye-Ran” and “Eye-Raneeuhn,” after an Iranian L. A. Clippers season ticket holder whined about it to the NBA, FOX, and the Los Angeles Times. It’s ridiculous. Lawler and Smith were referring to Hamed Haddadi, the first Iranian in the NBA (wow, what a momentous “achievement” to celebrate; can’t wait ’til the first Al-Qaeda member joins–perhaps a potential job for KSM after he’s acquitted at his New York trial).

KSM, 9/11 Suspects Trial: Let the Jew-Blaming, America-Hating Begin

By Debbie Schlussel

As virtually every single critic of the Barack Obama / Eric Holder decision to bring 9/11 suspects to trial in U.S. courts has predicted, the defendant terrorists plan to make their trials a forum and spectacle for their “views” on American foreign policy.  Their defense attorneys just said as much.

The five men facing trial in the Sept. 11 attacks will plead not guilty so that they can air their criticisms of U.S. foreign policy, the lawyer for one of the defendants said.
