Not the greatest weekend at the movie theater for new releases, but if you must pick one, “The Crazies” wasn’t bad.

*  “Cop Out“: Two words:  Tracy Morgan.  It’s poison to a movie.  He was semi-okay in one or two SNL skits.  But anything more, fuhgedaboutit.

Moreover, I’m beginning to think that the real reason Southwest Airlines made director Kevin Smith get off the flight is that he’s an even more horrible director than he is fat.  From his over-rated “Clerks” and “Jay and Silent Bob” flicks to this movie, his work stinks.  But give him credit for truth in advertising.  The title of this piece of garbage couldn’t be more accurate, as this is definitely a “cop out” for a movie.

Harlem Train Station–Site of Thursday’s Attempted Bombing

Hampton-El’s name and image came to my mind, as I read this story, which–strangely–has gotten little coverage anywhere.  You’d think a story about a bombing attempt, yesterday, at a New York Train station would be national news.  But, sadly, it isn’t.  That’s especially odd, given that Muslim Najibullah Zazi just pleaded guilty to plotting to bomb the New York Subway and two of his high school friends were just indicted for their parts in the plot. Were Roosevelt Terry and the others in this plot Muslims, too?  I’d bet money on it.

Lots of questions here:

An amputee missing both legs was arrested Thursday after police said he was wheeled into a busy New York City train station and planted a bomb.

The Chicago Tribune is up in arms about a baloney study conducted by the deceptively-named “Restaurant Opportunities Center.”

The “study” showed that 80% of White employees in Chicago-area restaurants hold positions in the front of the establishments, where they are exposed to and meet patrons and other members of the public.  In contrast, the study found that two-thirds of Hispanic employees are shunted off to working in the back, including the kitchen, dish washing, etc.  Jose Oliva, national policy coordinator for the La Raza-esque open-borders group, claims that this shows restaurant owners mistakenly believe that customers prefer White servers.

But that’s bunk.  And here are the questions the study failed to answer:

*  How many of the Hispanic employees working in the back can speak English?

*  How many are here legally and have working papers in order, rather than fraudulent documents?

Anthony Joseph Tracy a/k/a Yusuf Tracy a/k/a Yusuf Noor (strangely none of the press reports use his Muslim names–why?) sold out America, after converting to Islam in prison in the 1990s. Then, he went to Somalia, made contact with Harakat Al-Shabaab Mujahideen a/k/a Al-Shabaab, the Somalian chapter of Al Qaeda, and helped the group smuggle in 270 Somali Muslims–likely all Islamic terrorists–into America. And I’m sure he isn’t the only one doing this. Just the only we’ve caught.

Tracy’s business, Noor Services Limited, procured fake documents to get these Somalians visas to travel to Cuba, via Tracy’s contacts in the Cuban Embassy in Kenya. Then, he helped advise them on how to smuggle themselves into America, via travel to South America and Mexico, then getting in via our Southern border. But Tracy’s biz was a one-stop shop–once they were here, he advised these Al-Shabaab Somalis how to game immigration authorities and how to not only get immigration benefits (green cards, citizenship, etc.) for themselves, but how to bring their relatives here and get them the same. So, it’s actually more than 270 aliens connected to Al-Shabaab, that we’re likely talking about. Also not in the media coverage of this story is what Tracy said in e-mails such as this one:

i will be back in kenya at the end of february, so contact me then and i will assist you inshallah [DS: allah-willing]. i helped alot of somalis and most are good but there are some who are bad and i leave them to ALLAH

ESPN–which was once edgy, cool, and had a sense of humor–has lost all that.  And that’s why the cable network is considered by many (including me) to be old hat and boring.  Instead, political correctness (including calling McCain voters “racist”) is the order of the day. This is the network that looks the other way when it hires a serial sexual harasser (Steve Phillips), but goes ballistic if one of its personalities dares to describe another in a very accurate way.

ESPN’s Humorless Speech Police Hard @ Work

Tony Kornheiser knows this more than anyone.  ESPN suspended the “Pardon the Interruption” and ESPN talk radio host for two weeks and forced him to apologize to ESPN reporter Hannah Storm, live on the air.  His crime:  Kornheiser and his on-air staff mocked Storm and ESPN’s Chris Berman, respectively, for her clothing and his weight.  But that’s talk radio, where witty commentary and observation are most welcome and entertaining.

And Kornheiser was on the money on both of them.  He said that Hannah Storm’s skirts were too short and tight for her age and noted that Chris Berman (whose name he didn’t mention) did ads for a weight loss program, but quickly gained back all the weight he lost.  Frankly, Kornheiser did a public service in both cases:  telling us to beware of a gimmicky dieting program which doesn’t work in the long-term and alerting ESPN that the network might not want to have a reporter galavanting around like an aging stripper.

Well, judge for yourself, and based on Sonia From the Block’s comments, below, in an important terrorism case, I think maybe you’ll come to the opposite conclusion.  I used to refer to her as “So-So.”  But, frankly, that was being generous.  She’s rock bottom, and it has nothing to do with her ethnicity, but that she was put on the court strictly because of her combined ethnicity and female plumbing.

On Tuesday, the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments in a case deciding whether or not previous counterterrorism laws and a portion of the USA Patriot Act barring “material support” to parties the government has designated as terrorists, violates First Amendment speech rights.  But that’s a cover.  Those who filed and represent plaintiffs in the case, Holder v. Humanitarian Law Project, don’t give a whit about free speech or the First Amendment.  They want to help terrorism supporters in America to carve out a way to finance them.  All you have to do is look at the lead attorney, David Cole.  He’s the American consigliere of Jihad, Incorporated, having represented such lowlifes as Mazen Al-Najjar, the Islamic Jihad operative and brother-in-law of Islamic Jihad founder and frontman, Sami Al-Arian.  And he represented Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine terrorist group members Michel Shehadah and Khader Hamide and saved them from deportation. He is a frequently featured speaker on the halal rubber chicken circuit.

When we last saw the bizarre Johnny Depp, he was praising criminal and murderer John Dillinger, whom he portrayed in his summer box office flop, “Public Enemies” (read my review).  Depp said he could identify with the famed bank robber, who was a cop-killer.  I wasn’t surprised because he’s an America-hater who prefers to live in France.

Now, on the eve of his appearance in Disney’s dark version of “Alice in Wonderland,” the anti-American Depp is identifying with some other murderers, three men accused (and convicted) of murdering three 8-year-old boys in a satanic ritual, known as the “West Memphis Three.” The murders happened in 1993 in Robin Hood Hills in Arkansas. The names of the convicted–and Depp’s latest causes celebres–are Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin, and Jessie Misskelley. The victims: Steve Branch, Christopher Byers, and Michael Moore.

Depp is appearing on CBS’ “48 Hours Mystery,” Saturday Night, to defend the three men and proclaim their innocence.  And that’s disappointing, especially for the floundering CBS News operation.  “48 Hours” is known for its analytical look at the evidence in such cases and the commentary of criminal investigators, prosecutors, attorneys, and witnesses, NOT the meaningless, empty use of celebrities to tell you what they think.  Depp has no connection to the case, no special knowledge.  He is not a criminal investigator, an expert, or a witness in the case.  He’s just Johnny Depp . . . which means you or I have as much knowledge as he does of the guilt or innocence of the men convicted in the crime.

Meet Rizwan Ahmed of Staten Island, New York.  The Muslim Pakistani illegal alien wanted to stay here, and he found a willing partner in Hazel Benson, who sold her dead boy’s identity to him for a cool $10,000.   Sorry your son died, but then to use that tragedy to sell out your country?

Sadly, there are far too many more where Ms. Benson came from.  And far more, who unlike Mr. Ahmed, succeed in their illegal alien document fraud schemes.

Lots of questions here: Who is Rizwan Ahmed? Why was he here? How did he manage to stay here for “several years”? And what was he planning? Was he just a “deli worker,” or was that his cover for something far more evil . . . like a terrorist plot against America? Oh, and how does an apparently illegal alien get a job working at a deli for “several years”? Where is his work permit (which illegal aliens can’t get)?  Where is ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) on this?

It sounds like ICE agents should be pulling a dragnet on the Muslims who operate Night Grocery, the way they did on the Jewish-owned kosher meat-packing plant, Agriprocessors, in Postville, Iowa (whose workers were Hispanic Catholics, not the far more dangerous Muslims from Pakistan a la Mr. Rizwan). But don’t hold your breath. ICE chief John Moron doesn’t have the juice . . . or the guts.  Watch Ahmed do the perp walk:

A few people sent me a Financial Times headline they read, today, on the Drudge Report, regarding Rupert Murdoch’s and FOX News Channel owner News Corp’s purchase of a large stake in Saudi Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talal’s Rotana Media.  But to readers who’ve been here since, at least, September, it is old news.  I covered it here before FT and Drudge, back in the beginning of September.  Read the details. The only new and interesting–well not interesting, but stupid–thing I read in the FT article is the extremist prince (who was a proud donor to Palestinian homicide bomber telethons) claims he will now be able to learn about MySpace from Murdoch.  Um, didn’t anyone tell him:  no-one uses MySpace anymore and he might wanna learn about Facebook and Twitter?
