Meinhardt Raabe, “Wizard’s” Munchkin Coroner, Inspiring American Patriot, RIP

By Debbie Schlussel

Meinhardt Raabe–the Munchkin coroner who pronounces “The Wizard of Oz’s” Wicked Witch dead–died on Friday at age 94. He didn’t let his physical challenges get in the way and made the best of them.  In fact, three years ago, he predicted to a New York Times reporter how his obituary would read and embraced it. But he was so much more than the Munchkin coroner, including a patriot who served his country during World War II.

Watch this video of Raabe recounting his life and experiences from a Wisconsin farm to a Chicago hawker of Japanese trinkets to Oscar Meyer and then to the “Oz” set. It’s an interesting slice of a uniquely American life.

I give Raabe a lot of credit for the way he handled his situation.  Back in those days, it was much tougher to be faced with his physical condition and stature.  After earning an accounting degree and working for several summers as an intern, no company would hire him because of his height and employers dismissed Raabe as “a circus act.”

PBS Remembers the Holocaust by Remembering . . . Muslims?!

By Debbie Schlussel

Yesterday was “Yom HaShoah,” Holocaust Remembrance Day.  And in recognition of that–and to pander to its far-left Jewish donors–tonight at 10:00p.m. Eastern, PBS (a/k/a Palestinian Broadcasting Service) is presenting “Among the Righteous: Lost Stories from the Holocaust’s Long Reach into Arab Lands,” about the few Arab Muslims who saved Jews from Nazi camps in North Africa.  It follows Robert Satloff, the liberal Jewish author who wrote a book by the same name

palestinianbroadcastingservice.jpg

It’s nice that a few Muslims saved Jews.  They were heroic and risked their lives to do the right thing. But they were the exception.  Not the rule.  And it’s kind of disgusting–an in-your-face PBS haha moment–to remember the Holocaust by insisting that the exception, the exception that is part of the Jewish people’s most fierce, unprovoked enemy today, is something to be respected over the general rule.  The fact is this:  the majority–the vast majority–of the Islamic world hates and wishes for the destruction of the Jewish people and Israel.  If they could, they’d kill us all. That there were a few exceptions in North Africa doesn’t negate or change that.  In fact, it’s just red herring propaganda.

Me on San Diego Radio Tonight

By Debbie Schlussel

I do a lot of local radio interviews around the country (and in Canada), every day.  And I usually don’t have time–or forget–to put notices of them up.  Tonight, at 9:25 p.m. Pacific, I’ll be on the Rick Amato Show on KCBQ 1170-AM in San Diego.  We’ll be talking about Ultimate Fighting Championship’s Muslim part-owners and restrictions they put on competitors, regarding expressing Christian or other non-Muslim beliefs.  Listen live then.

HOprah Watch: Oprah Made Up Rape Story, Has Nickname “Negro” (From BFF Gayle)

By Debbie Schlussel

The biggest story in the mainstream media about “Oprah: A Biography” (the new Kitty Kelley “tell-all”) is the mainstream media’s refusal to cover the book.  It’s no surprise that Barbara Walters, the entire ABC Network, Larry King, and many others have announced they won’t discuss the book because Oprah’s a “friend.”  They protect their friends in a way they’d never protect corporate CEOs, Catholic priests, etc.  Others fear that Oprah could really hurt them, and they simply don’t have the journalistic integrity and objectivity they frequently claim.

And don’t think Oprah’s the only one.  ABC News put the kabosh on a “20/20” story by Geraldo Rivera because then-ABC News Prez Roone Arledge was friends with the widow of its subject, Robert F. Kennedy (the story was about his affairs with Marilyn Monroe and others).  But since Arledge wasn’t “friends” with anyone Israeli, his network never spared other objects of his operation’s news “reporting,” like Israel, conservatives, etc.

“Filthy 13” (“Dirty Dozen”), Band of Brothers Member, WWII Hero Jack Agnew, RIP

By Debbie Schlussel

Did you know that the famous “Dirty Dozen” from the legendary movie was actually the “Filthy Thirteen” in real life in World War II?

Filthy 13 Member, WWII Hero John “Jack” Agnew, RIP

John “Jack” Agnew, one of the members of the “Filthy 13”–the legendary Army united, which operated behind enemy lines during WII and which inspired “The Dirty Dozen”–passed away on Thursday.  The Irish immigrant to the U.S. was 88.

Agnew was a paratrooper who served on a demolition team with the 101st Airborne Division that dropped into Normandy on D-Day.

Attention, Terrorists: Buy an IPad

By Debbie Schlussel

The TSA may think that it’s impossible to sneak explosives into an IPad, but Islamic terrorists will quickly find a way.  They always find a way and exploit every hole.  That’s why this new policy is boneheaded:

In a break that gadget-loving road warriors will welcome, the Transportation Security Administration clarified in its blog last week that the new, slim computer wouldn’t have to be removed from carry-on baggage by travelers at security checkpoints.

Palestinian Muslims Sacrifice Conjoined Twins for Anti-Israel Propaganda

By Debbie Schlussel

The late Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir once said, “Peace will come when the Arabs will love their children more than they hate us.”

Rather Than Accept Jewish Help,

Palestinian Muslims Let Twins Die for Propaganda Against Israel

But, as the latest incident with a pair of now-dead Palestinian conjoined twins shows, it’ll be a cold day in hell before that happens. And the twin girls–Ritaj and Rittal–are yet another example of, “When bad things happen, blame the Jews.”

Remember

By Debbie Schlussel

Today is “Yom HaShoah,” Holocaust Remembrance Day.  Remember the Six Million Jews who were rounded up, tortured, and murdered by the Nazis.  But if you cannot also remember the millions of live Jews today in Israel under attack from the New Nazis–Muslims, then your “remembrance” of those who became ashes, lampshades, and other versions of dead, is a waste and of no use.

My maternal grandparents, Isaac and Adele, survived, but both of their families were wiped out, as were most of my fathers parents’ families.  Isaac and Adele, both now gone, met at Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp, where they were emaciated inmates. It is the camp where Anne Frank and her sister were sent and murdered by the Nazis. After they were liberated, it became a displaced persons camp, and my grandparents married and lived there. My mother was born there.  Below is a photo of my grandmother and her fellow seamstresses prior to being sent to the camps.  Some of them were murdered by the Nazis.  Others ultimately worked in a camp where they were lucky to be spared because of their sewing skills.  They were forced to repair Nazi uniforms.

Per Usual, Honor Killing Dad in Arizona Had Lotsa Family Help

By Debbie Schlussel

Remember Faleh Hassan Almaleki, the Glendale, Arizona Iraqi Muslim immigrant who honor-killed his daughter, Noor Faleh Almaleki, for the “crime” of becoming “too Westernized” and choosing her own boyfriend, instead staying married to a cousin in a pre-arranged marriage in Iraq?  I first wrote about this back in October, when the father attempted the honor-killing, and later in November, when it was successful, and his daughter died.

falehhassanalmalekinoorfalehalmaleki

A Family Affair:

Relatives Helped Faleh Almaleki Honor Kill His Daughter on US Soil, Escape

Well, per usual, Mr. Almaleki had help from within his larger Muslim family.  Plenty of help.  Many times before, I’ve noted that many family members conspire in Islamic honor killings.  As I wrote previously, when Palestina “Tina” Isa was honor-killed in St. Louis for having a Black boyfriend, her Islamic convert mother, Maria Isa, helped hold her down as her Palestinian Muslim father, Zein Isa–who was part of the Islamic terrorist group, Abu Nidal, was also part of a fund-raising ring for the group, and was under surveillance by the FBI–stabbed her.  “Die quickly, my daughter.  Die quickly” the mother was heard saying on surveillance tapes.

When Sarah and Amina Said were honor-killed by their father, Yaser Abcel Said, they were knowingly sent in to be slaughtered by their mother, Patricia “Tissy” Said, and their brother, Islam Said.   That’s why it was so incredibly disgusting when Scamela Geller and Slobbert Spencer invited Mrs. Said (and offered to pay her travel expenses) to a sparsely-attended, self-promotion fest they organized in Ohio, ostensibly to rally in support of Fathima Rifqa Bary.  They knew what Mrs. Said did (and they angered and caused great anguish to the girls’ only protector, their aunt Gail Gartrell), and yet, they were more interested in headlines and self-promotion than expressing disgust at a conspirator to murder.

And, now, we learn that Mr. Almaleki had lots of  familial help in his successful honor murder, too. Future guest speakers at a Geller/Spencer rally?:

Police documents in the case of a Glendale father accused of slaying his daughter in an “honor killing” suggest family members might have helped him during his time as a fugitive. . . .

Weekend Box Office: “Date Night,” “Runaways,” “Girl w/ Dragon Tattoo”

By Debbie Schlussel

It’s another weekend o’ crap at the box office.  I can’t recommend any of the new releases highly.  Two of them had the makings of what could have been good movies but degraded into the vile and/or stupid.  One was just vile trash to begin with.

datenightrunaways

girlwithdragontattoo

*  “Date Night“:  At first, I was enjoying this mistaken identity story line.  But it got real stupid, real fast.  And since when does a movie with jokes about and references to anal sex get a PG-13 rating?  That’s not to mention F- and other four letter words and stuff about stripping and orgies?  Should have been “R.”

Steve Carell and Tina Fey play a bored married couple who are always tired out, seem to have lost the romance in their marriage, and go on their weekly date night out to a fancy new restaurant in New York City, where they are mistaken for a couple who are blackmailing an Italian mafia figure who owns strip clubs.  In a novel acting career move, Ray Liotta plays the mobster.   Trying to show his range, I guess.  Wow, next, they’ll be casting Joe Pesci as a mafioso.  For the rest of the movie, we see Carell and Fey trying to escape two corrupt cops who moonlight for the mobster and meeting up with various characters who help them in their escape plan.
