Big Fat Liars: People Mag Picks Morbidly Obese Actress as “World’s Most Beautiful”

By Debbie Schlussel

It’s one thing to be against the government getting involved in what you eat or how much you weigh.  Big Brother shouldn’t be in our kitchens or on our dinner tables.  But it’s entirely another thing to be subject to the constant, intellectually dishonest promotion of fat people as “beautiful” and “sexy.”  They aren’t . . . unless you’re a chubby chaser.

The Real Notorous B.I.G.: I Hope the Silkworms Got Paid Overtime to Make This Dress

And so goes the lying, latest issue of People Magazine, its “World’s Most Beautiful People” issue, which is on the stands today.  The magazine’s completely dishonest editors chose disgusting-looking, morbidly obese actress Gabourey Sidibe as one of the “World’s Most Beautiful People.”  Come on.  You know they don’t believe that.  And we don’t believe she’s among the “World’s Most Beautiful People,” either.  (In an appropriately-designated “Special Double Issue,” no less.)

This girl’s weight is sickening.  She’s gross to look at.  And it’s unhealthy.  But People is engaging in the usual affirmative action for fat people because the editors clearly feel bad for Sidibe.  She was correctly dissed by Howard Stern, who said on his satellite radio show that she would not find more acting work.  This choice by People is in response to his and others’ on-target comments. It’s the whole reason this mediocre actress was nominated for an Academy Award this year.  But Stern was incorrect, only because the hypocritical, usual Hollywood types felt bad for this fat chick the way they’d never feel bad for a wounded American soldier in Iraq or a victim of Islamic terrorism.

Another Stark Example of Why Arizona’s Immigration Law Needs Expansion

By Debbie Schlussel

In response to Arizona’s new immigration law, inept Department of Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano is struggling to do damage control. And so, to cover up the fact that Arizona’s cops are doing the job she won’t do, Napolitano, on Tuesday, told Congress that our border

is as secure as it has ever been.

It’s a relative statement because the borders have never been very secure or as secure as they should be.  However, they were far more secure before 9/11 and before political correctness ruled the roost.

But regarding her statement, tell that to the child victim of Fernando Lopez-Ramirez, who was deported TWICE and still returned to rape a kid in Maryland:

Frederick County authorities say a Guatemalan man who was deported twice is awaiting trial on rape and child sex-abuse charges.

Video of the Day: Many Weathermen Think Warming is Globaloney

By Debbie Schlussel

You’ve heard from many of these people before, including Weather Channel founder, John Coleman.  But it’s a very nice compilation of the many prominent weathermen (am I still allowed to use that “sexist” word, or must I say the PC “weathercasters”?) and a very fair and balanced report from . . . ABC News?! In short, many of the top guys think global warming and climate change are pure bunk. They deal in science and actual figures and stats. Not junk science and empty fads.

Favorite Job Interview Question of the Day: “Was Your Mother a Hooker?”

By Debbie Schlussel

So, let me get this straight.  Rush Limbaugh isn’t allowed to be a part owner of an NFL team because conservatism is “racism.”  Yet, an NFL general manager can ask a black football player whether or not his mother was a prostitute.  On the other hand, while the mainstream media wants you to believe the question was racist and in incredibly poor taste (but not illegal to ask, by the way), they’re not giving you the full story (including the race merchants and whiners at FOX News).

dezbryantjeffireland

“Was Your Mom a Hooker?” Probably.

If you’re gonna invest millions of dollars to pay a player on your team who is from America’s killing fields, the question is legit.  Miami Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland asked the question of then-NFL hopeful Dez Bryant a month or so prior to last week’s NFL draft, when Miami was considering drafting the Oklahoma State wide receiver, who was expected to go in the first round (and was ultimately drafted by Dallas).  Would you want to invest millions in someone with a troubled family background without doing due diligence and asking questions?  We know about the heaps of NFL players from such backgrounds who end up committing crimes themselves and end up off the rosters or suspended from games.

And, as it turns out, Miami Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland’s question to wide receiver Dez Bryant has some basis.  His mother, Angela Bryant, was, in fact, a drug dealer and addict who was only 15 when she gave birth to him (and the father was more than twice her age–where I live, we call that statutory rape).  She is also a convicted criminal, who spent 18 months in prison, in 1997-98.  Because of this, Bryant was shuttled from relative to relative as a kid.

Bowing to Muslims, Obama Abandons US Stand on Religious Freedom

By Debbie Schlussel

In the past, I’ve noted that Obama’s ass-kissing and pandering to the Islamic world was no different and no more egregious than that of Bush.  Both of them are equally disgusting in their brown-nosing of Islam.  But now, Obama’s taken it a step further.

islamiccrescentobamasmiling.jpg

I warned of a similar action by Obama before on this site–Obama’s softening of America’s lip service to free speech around the world, in order to please Muslims and protect Islam from criticism by  others, something which disturbed even hardcore liberals.  Now, he’s softening America’s lip service to freedom of religion around the world.  In the past, America has always voiced a strong insistence upon religious freedom for all people in any nation.  It was merely talk, as we’ve repeatedly tolerated, and even financed and propped up religious intolerance by Muslims–as in Iraq, where Christians are now persecuted and from which they are fleeing in droves (thanks, Bush).

But now Obama is voicing a softened stand on religion, as I warned he would, last year.  And he’s using silly, liberal intellectual semantic tricks.  Even a bipartisan commission to which Obama, himself, appointed members, rips him on this.  And they get it–it’s being done to condone Muslim persecution of Christians around the world.

A bipartisan U.S. commission on religious freedom says President Obama is softening his stand on protecting the right to one’s faith at a time when religious persecution is on the rise, according to an annual report to be released today.

That’s Conservative?: “View” Hag Elisabeth Hasselbeck Condemns AZ Immigration Law, Praises Levin’s Goldman Sachs Tirade

By Debbie Schlussel

I think it’s cold and we’re in hell.  Yet another day with that locale and temperature when Whoopi “I Don’t Believe We Landed on the Moon” Goldberg, Sherri ” I Don’t Believe the Earth is Round” Shepherd, and Joy “I’m a Leftist Yenta” Behar are the voices of reason on ABC’s “The View.”  But they were, sort of.

elisabethhasselbeck.jpgstfu

STFU Candidate of the Year

On today’s edition of the unbearable anti-male yenta hag-fest, faux-conservative and genuine airhead Elisabeth Hasselbeck condemned the new Arizona immigration law as being “very wrong.”  She equated the Arizonans enforcing the law with the illegal aliens breaking it.  “They’re both wrong.”  The mindless Hasselbeck also called for national laws addressing illegal aliens.  I guess she never heard:  we’ve had them on the books for decades.  They just aren’t being enforced.  That’s why Arizona has to enforce them, moron.  Here’s a tip, Elisabeth:  the Immigration and Nationality Act–google it.  Or try reading a paper.

Then, she defended far-left Senator Carl Levin’s S-word filled tirade against Goldman Sachs executives, saying that she liked it because “now, at least there’s some accountability.”  Goldberg, Behar, and Shepherd thought the tirade was wrong and inappropriate and tried to talk some sense to shrill, knee-jerk airhead Hasselbeck, who loved it.  I guess her buddy and fellow airhead, Sean Vannity, forgot to pass along the FOX News talking points to the mousy bim, this morning.

DumbAssity (TM) of the Day: Santa Clara Outlaws Happy Meals

By Debbie Schlussel

There’s a reason why, as I’ve previously noted, the letters in the words “Nanny State” also make up the words “Neat ‘N’ Nasty.”  It’s nasty when others tell you how to live your life.  Others like the statist members of California’s Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors.

nohappymeals

DumbAssity (TM) of the Day

I’ve said it before.  I’ll say it again.  It’s up to parents to teach their children responsibility, discipline, and self-control.  Not McDonald’s.  And not government.  Big Brother is big enough.

But the lefties who run Santa Clara County don’t think so.  And, so, they’ve outlawed Happy Meals and other similar promotions by fast food restaurants, which they say entice kids to nag their parents into buying them unhealthy food.  So what?  It’s called marketing.  It’s a form of free speech protected by the U.S. Constitution.  When I was a kid I nagged my parents to buy me things, too.  And they often said the one word parents today won’t:  NO.

Is that McDonald’s fault?  Is it Happy Meals’ fault? No.  It’s the fault of lazy parents who won’t say no.  Lazy parents who use TV, videos, and computers to raise their kids.  Parents who have no sense of what it takes to be a parent. A parent who won’t say no to a Happy Meal because their kid wants a cute toy is a parent who will tolerate drug use, sex at an early age, and bad academics by their kid. In other words, that parent is actually just a sperm or womb donor who wants to be friends with their kid.

And the Supervisors of Santa Clara reward that bad parenting, that laziness, that unwillingness of parents to turn down their kids’ every whim and wish, lest they experience some temporary whining or crying.

Happy Meal toys and other promotions that come with high-calorie children’s meals will soon be banned in parts of Santa Clara County unless the restaurants meet nutritional guidelines approved Tuesday by the county Board of Supervisors.

Almost FREE: Baskin-Robbins 31-Cent Scoop Tonight!

By Debbie Schlussel

As readers know, I love to tell you about free stuff.  Usually, it’s legit, and sometimes–as with the free Snuggie promotion–it’s a bust (I never got my Snuggie, nor did many readers; sorry, but I said I wasn’t sure if it would work).

baskinrobbinsscoopnight

But this one IS real.  It’s 31 cent scoop night at Baskin-Robbins stores all over America, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., TONIGHT.  No, it’s not free, but close enough.  At 31 cents, it’s nearly free.  You can barely buy a gumball for that these days.  For $.31, you get a 2.5 ounce scoop of BR ice cream.  If you have a whole family, it’s a bargain at that price per kid.

And it benefits a good cause, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF).  The Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation will donate $100,000 to that organization.  And I’m confident in saying this:  NONE of it will go to fund Sean Hannity’s private plane rides on a Gulfstream 5 jet. Find the Baskin-Robbins store nearest you here.

UPDATED w/ Video: Al-Qaeda Boycotts Arizona Over Immigration Law

By Debbie Schlussel

**** SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATE ****

With all of the hub-bub over the newly-passed Arizona immigration enforcement law, there is much talk of a boycott of Arizona, designed to hurt the state.  But unless American senior citizens, golfers, and vacationers looking for a warm, beautiful vacation destination are thinking of boycotting Arizona–and there’s no sign of that–Arizona has nothing to worry about.

Muslims, CAIR, Illegal Aliens’ Lawyers Upset Over Arizona Law

On the other hand, the announced boycotters and angry enemies of the Arizona law have zero bite to match their bark.  It’s a small heap of the usual suspects, the usual whiners.  And their opposition to Arizona’s law should tell you something:  that the law is hitting the correct target–Muslim illegal aliens, and illegal alien lawyers.  Essentially, Al-Qaeda and its terrorists’ lawyers are boycotting Arizona. Big whoop.

Among  Arizona’s boycotters:  CAIR–the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the unindicted co-conspirator in HAMAS terrorism.  And the American Immigration Lawyers Association, a group that makes its bread and butter on promising illegal aliens in our midst that it can help them . . . while collecting hefty legal fees. If illegal aliens are swiftly identified and deported, there’s less money for them. Um, these two groups–the enemy within and their lawyers–opposing this measure, should be a giant hint that the law hits the bulls eye.

First, there’s CAIR:
