As Gomer Pyle would say, “Suhrprahz, Surprahz.”  Yup, whatta shocker that all of the knee-jerk excuses and denials the feds and NYC’s dumbass Mayor Michael Bloomberg told us over the weekend aren’t true.  Here are the myths:

Guess the Religion, Times Square Edition

1)  It was a “White guy” (yes, b/c noooooo White people are Muslims, right?);

2)  It was not terrorism (b/c it was a “White guy”) because nooooo White people are terrorists working on behalf of Muslims;

3)  The Pakistani Taliban’s branch which claimed responsibility wasn’t responsible (can’t determine why they decided this, other than that over-hyped, worthless, nutty “terrorism expert” Evan Kohlmann who gets EVERY single thing wrong, declared this on NBC news).

Reality check:

1)  The person currently the suspect in the case–the “person of interest”–is your average “White guy” Pakistani-American.

2)  He has a Middle Eastern last name.

3)  He’s a Muslim (pretty much all Pakistanis are–there are few Jewish or Christian Pakis, dummies).

4)  He recently returned from a long trip to Pakistan–was there for five months.

5)  He’s a naturalized citizen (and I’ll bet we did one heck of a five minute background check on his ass when he applied for citizenship).

6)  Federal counterterrorism officials recognize the guy’s name (and probably instantly ignored him because a falafel kiss-ass luncheon wasn’t available at which to gladhand him, so they chose their second fave option–ignore him because Muslims from Pakistan are never a threat to America . . . ever).

But, hey, given all these things, I’m sure he’s 1) a “White guy” Paki; 2) a “non-Islamic” Muslim–maybe he’s a lesbian Christian, lacto-ovo, multi-racial Muslim; 3) and there’s no way a guy who’s a Paki Muslim who just returned from Pakistan has ties to the Pakistani Taliban–that’s impossible, right? Or he could be a Paki Wiccan. Yeah, that’s the ticket.

Somali Hizbul Islam Terrorists v. Somali Pirate Islamic Terrorists

This is one in which I root for both sides, wish it would last forever, and that both sides would lose.  Somalian Islamic terrorists from the group Hizbul Islam (Arabic for “Party of Islam”)–which is allied with Al-Qaeda group Al-Shabaab–are fighting Somalian Islamic terrorist pirates.

Call it what it is: the clash of non-civilizations. Maim away, guys.

Islamic fighters have seized a pirate haven in central Somalia, said residents of the town, in what could be a bid for a slice of the lucrative business of hijacking ships on the high seas.

Yet another civilized development from our war in Iraq and subsequent enactment of “democratic” elections for intolerant barbarians in which to choose fellow Iran-backed intolerant Shi’ite barbarians no different than the Sunni barbarians who ruled prior to our incursion.  Is this really what Americans died for?  Apparently so.  And this story, below, is why it’s so disturbing and significant that Barack Obama softened America’s position on religious freedom around the world.  He softened to appease these cretins who attack Christians.

Typical Associated Press coverage of this–using Muslim “reporter” and propagandist Saad Abdul-Kadir–blames this on Sunni terrorists and gives the “excuse” that Chaldeans (Iraqi Christians) supported the Shi’ite government.  But that’s false.  In fact, as I noted previously on this site, the Christians are against the Shi’ite, Iran-backed Al-Maliki government and voted by the tens of thousands for the secular Ayad Allawi.  But their votes were thrown out, and Maliki refuses to cede power, instead disqualifying many of Allawi’s democratically-elected coalition members (more on that later).  In fact, under Sunni/Saddam Hussein rule, Chaldeans had it better and could walk around in short sleeves and without veils.  Now, they are being kidnapped, murdered, and forced to flee to the United States in droves as refugees.

Not only are your tax dollars subsidizing and financing this, they’re doing it twice.  First, there’s the tax deductible status of OLPC.  Then, there’s the fact that the Palestinian terrorist kids’ computers are paid for by UNRWA, the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugee in the Near East, the Palestinian-specific UN agency paid for mostly by your tax dollars (the U.S. is the largest donor to this agency).

Along with OLPC and UNRWA, the deployment is also supported by the Jordanian Hashemite Charitable Organization (JHCO) and the Office of the President (Mahmoud Abbas) of the Palestinian National Authority.

Regardless of who is responsible for the now-defused terrorist bomb in New York City’s busy Times Square (and Pakistan’s branch of the Taliban, is now claiming responsibility), we know who is responsible for discovering the bomb in time and alerting authorities: Lance Horton, a Vietnam Veteran and vendor in the area. He and fellow Vietnam Vet, Duane Jackson, flagged down New York Police officer, Wayne Rhatigan, who took him seriously.

These alert Americans, Horton and Jackson, who served their country in one war and now in another are the reasons the bomb did not detonate, whether or not it would have done great damage (a matter now being debated) or is a diversion from a far worse future attack.  Make no mistake, they likely saved hundreds, or even thousands, of American lives.

the indictment of U.S. citizens WESAM EL-HANAFI and SABIRHAN HASANOFF for allegedly conspiring to provide material support, including computer advice and assistance, to al Qaeda. . . .

According to the Indictment unsealed today:

In February 2008, EL-HANAFI traveled to Yemen, where he met with two members of al Qaeda. While in Yemen, EL-HANAFI swore an oath of allegiance to al Qaeda, received instructions from al Qaeda on operational security measures, and received assignments to perform for al Qaeda. Three months later, in May 2008, EL-HANAFI met with another individual (“CC-1”) in Brooklyn to discuss CC-1 also joining al Qaeda. HASANOFF—who had previously received $50,000 from CC-1—and EL-HANAFI had additional discussions with CC-1 about joining al Qaeda, and EL-HANAFI later accepted an oath of allegiance on behalf of al Qaeda from CC-1. During about the same time period, EL-HANAFI purchased a subscription for a software program that enabled him to communicate securely with others over the internet.

Nothing that spectacular at the movies, but at least there’s finally something that’s relatively, slightly pro-Israel.

*  “A Nightmare on Elm Street“:  Some movies should never get remade, and this horror movie is one of them.  The 1984 Wes Craven original was fine, it was campy, and it even had Johnny Depp swallowed up by a bed.  The new one is not only not an improvement on the old one, but it’s a bloody, four-letter-word filled, sadistic waste of time.  It isn’t funny or humorous, not campy, and not scary at all.  You know exactly what’s going to happen pretty much the whole time.  It’s that predictable.  Not to mention stupid.

As you’ll recall, a couple of days ago, I told  you about Santa Clara County’s Board of Supervisors and their decision to ban Happy Meals (meals that don’t meet the county’s nutritional and caloric requirements cannot be sold with toys).

On today’s episode of the most annoying show on TV, mousy hag, fake conservative, and genuine moron-ette Elisabeth Hasselbeck endorsed the plan, saying it’s very hard for her not to buy Happy Meals when her kids whine at McDonald’s, and that she can’t buy them the nutritious “apple fries” (apples cut into the shape of fries) because her kids complain.  In other words, she’s a bad mother, so everyone else–including hard-working McDonald’s franchise owners–must pay for her ineptitude.  Hasselbeck also endorsed banning McDonald’s near schools.  Yup, that statism is what passes for “conservatism” according to this idiotette hag.

When Israelis want to build 1,600 apartments on land owned by Jews in the Jewish capital, the world is outraged.  But when Palestinians seize other Palestinians’ homes by force, well . . . it’s the symphony of crickets chirping.

Check out what happened to A’lyia Aweida, when she left her home to take care of her sick father-in-law.  And this was reported by the Palestinian Ma’an News Agency, so that should tell you something.  Life under terrorist group HAMAS–and under most Islamic regimes–makes life under the old Soviet Union look like a fantasy paradise. Gaza – A family apartment was seized and handed over to de facto government police after its owner temporarily moved out of the home to take care of her sick father-in law.

A’lyia Aweida said she returned to the apartment on 3 April to collect some belongings, only to find a de facto government police officer, who she identified only by his initials, RAH, and his wife living in her home.
