I’m surprised everyone is shocked that Barack Obama’s NASA Chief, Charles S. Bolden, Jr., announced that one of his three primary missions at NASA is Muslim outreach.

In fact, the Obama administration is not the first to waste tax-funded NASA resources and space program on Muslims.  Ronald Reagan and his VP, George H. W. Bush, were.  But they just wouldn’t say so publicly.  At least Obama’s people are finally open about this outrageous behavior that isn’t new to his administration.  Sad, though, that it took Al Jazeera to get it out of them.

There’s an old cheesy joke that Yasser Arafat complained to Gene Roddenberry that there were no Muslim crew members on “Star Trek’s” Starship Enterprise.  Roddenberry tells him that’s because it takes place in the future.  But, in fact, in real life, the future has already happened in space for Muslims, and it wasn’t perpetrated by Barack Obama.

When I was an intern on Capitol Hill in the summer of 1985 and still in high school, Saudi Prince Sultan Bin Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud held a giant party for all of the young interns on Capitol Hill.  He and the Saudi Arabian Embassy rented out the Capitol Center and hosted free food, music, belly dancers, and other entertainment, trying to reach out to America’s future leaders and convince them of the modernity, hipness, and “appeal” of Saudi Arabia.  The was the real purpose.  But the ostensible purpose was to celebrate Prince Sultan’s trip into space, courtesy of NASA–Ronald Reagan’s NASA.  While ultimately this was Reagan’s move, it was carefully orchestrated by then-Vice President George H.W. Bush, a close friend to the Saudi Royal family.

Less than two years ago, Michigan State University announced it was opening up a Dubai campus.  The aim was to propagandize students in favor of the Muslim world, particularly Dubai, which abides by the Arab boycott of Israel.  Today, the school announced the campus was a big failure, and it is closing.  So sad, too bad.

The school developed a special website for MSU Dubai with the advertising slogan, “Dream Big.”  More like, Dream Dhimmi.  Not enough students enrolled, and multi-million pledges from Dubai’s oil-rich sheikhs never came through.  Shocker.  Muslims never break their promises, right?  Students even turned away from the enticement of lower tuition rates for Dubai study than for study in Michigan by out-of-state students.  And even hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships just for study at MSU Dubai didn’t bring students in, either.  It’s ironic that a Michigan taxpayer-funded school would waste so much money to send business and economic activity not only out-of-state, but to a Muslim nation that hosts and welcomes HAMAS terrorist arms dealers and enables 9/11 terrorist attacks, but turns away Jews.

And the failure of the school says even more than just the failure of the fraudulent marketing of anti-Semitic, intolerant Dubai as a Western paradise.  The school was heavily and shamelessly promoted on WJR, Rush Limbaugh’s Detroit affiliate by Lebanese pan-Muslim morning talk show host, Paul W. Smith, the Hezbollah apologist who got a free trip to Dubai and openly pimped the Dubai MSU campus.  Clearly, he’s past his prime and no-one cares what he has to say.  None of the aging parents and grandparents in WJR’s largely senior citizen demographic who listen to Smith’s extremely dull show were too convinced or prevailed upon their kids and grandkids to spend the semester at the site of 9/11 hijackers’ money laundering and fake IDs.  Stick a fork in it, Paul W.  You’re done.

Recently, I told you about reports that TWA Flight 847 Hezbollah hijacker Mohamed Ali Hamadi was killed by CIA drones in Pakistan at a meeting with top Al-Qaeda officials.  Hamadi was one of the Islamic terrorist murderers who tortured Navy diver Robert Dean Stethem to death.

But the story may not be true after all. It appears Hamadi is still in Lebanon, alive, well, and breathing easily.  And that’s what the U.S. government believes, since Hamadi– as I write this–remains on the FBI’s list of most wanted terrorists. If the agency truly believed he was dead, he’d have been removed immediately. Yes, the government is slow and incompetent. But not that slow and incompetent.  He’s still on the list for a reason.  He’s not dead or captured, but laughing at us, living free.  And there’s a reason the U.S. government has helped spread the other story (that he’s dead) and not come out and confirmed that he wasn’t really killed.

For several weeks, many people have asked me why I haven’t written about Mosab Hassan Yousef a/k/a “Son of HAMAS”?  They’ve naively bought into the gushing on the right and by the clueless professional counter-jihad class over this guy and the book someone else wrote for him.  They gush over cleverly evasive FOX News videos and programs touting this strange new hero.

Things Are Not Always What They Seem . . . or What They Tell You For Money

But I do not.  That’s why I said nothing when Youssef fought deportation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), a fight in which the government relented last week.  It’s not just that Youssef is yet another in the post-9/11 professional Muslim-and-Arab-frauds-denounce-Islam-for-Jewish-and-Christian-cash industry.  I don’t know about you.  But my savior against Islam does not have an Arabic accent.  It has my own accent.  It’s my own actions and critical thinking and my own G-d.  It’s my own beliefs, my own will, and my own analysis and inquiry. If you need to gush over these charlatans (who are laughing at you all the way to the bank) to feel you’re fighting Islam’s takeover of America, you aren’t . . . and you’re a fool.  Worse than useless.  You’re sheep, and not the kind that tastes best on my barbecue. You are so weak personally that you need some Former Muslim version of a Sham Wow salesman to confirm what you think but aren’t quite convinced of. Sad. And that’s why America won’t likely beat Islam.

But there’s more to Youssef’s story.  His book, “Son of HAMAS,” was written by Ron Brackin, a very nice, decent guy with whom I once worked . . . but a VERY ANTI-ISRAEL guy.  I liked him personally and am hesitant to write about him.  But it must be done.  Ron does missionary work in the so-called Palestinian territories and is proof positive that not all Evangelical Christians are pro-Israel.   When I once–over two decades ago–worked with this man, he was generally very sweet, very pro-Israel, and philo-Semitic.  But, once, he made sure to point out to me that Judas was a Jew.  As a teen-aged kid at the time, it bothered me.  And, now, he’s very anti-Israel,  a hatred that came out in a telephone conversation I had with him a couple of years ago.  That explains Youssef’s anti-Israel and not-so-veiled anti-Semitic comments in the book.

The big story around Detroit and throughout the sports world–today–is the “untimely” death of Bob Probert, the former NHL enforcer.  If you are a hockey fan, as I am, you will remember Probert as the ’80s and ’90s enforcer, the fighter–one of those who made hockey exciting for the brawls for which it was once known as opposed to the boring kabuki dance of male ballet it has become.  His on-ice brawls and fights make up at least four hours of footage on two DVDs.  And his death is sad news.

But I disagree with press descriptions of Probert’s death as “untimely.”  When you consume hard drugs like candy and constantly abuse your body, you are risking your life then and at all points in the future.  Eventually, your body gives out.  Probert’s story is not all that different from the much-pressified failed Black athletes in the NBA and NFL–proof that pro athletes who waste their lives and fortunes on drugs, excess, and immature behavior span the races and all major league sports (if you can still call the NHL “major”).  His own father died of a heart attack at 41, so perhaps it is hereditary.  But I doubt it.

Over the years, I occasionally saw Probert work out at the gym I go to.  He seemed like a nice guy.  But there is a reason a healthy 45-year-old man collapses of an alleged heart attack, the speculated cause of Probert’s death this afternoon while relaxing on a holiday weekend boat excursion.  Years of cocaine use, excessive drinking, and refusing to grow up despite having fathered four children who did not choose this–it takes its toll.  I am sad for him and his family that he died.  Even though I am no medical expert, it appears this was no freak collapse, but the culmination of a life lived in the way he lived it.

Na, na, na, na;  Na, na, na, na;  Hey, hey .  .  . Good-bye! It’s a 4th of July bonus.

Great news as America celebrates its birthday and independence from England:  Hezbollah spiritual leader, Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah is DEAD at age 74 or 75 (depending on the news source).  Buh-bye.  On the State Department terrorist list, Fadlallah was one of the top terrorists in the world, behind the murders of hundreds of Americans, Jews, and Israelis, in cooperation with his benefactors in Iran, Syria, and his native South Lebanon.  Now, he’s off to 72-dark-eyed-revirginized jehenim [hell]. But what’s significant is that he wasn’t just the leader of a major Islamic terrorist group, but also THE leader of Shi’ite Muslims worldwide, almost all of whom worshipped him and his terrorist activities.

Fadlallah is the man who issued the fatwas okaying the 1983 bombing mass murder of the U.S. Marine barracks and U.S. Embassy in Beirut, killing more than 300 U.S. Marines and officials.  He permitted the torture murders of Navy diver Robert Dean Stethem, Col. Rich Higgins, and CIA attache William Buckley.  Fadlallah’s the one who gave the “go” for the bombing of the Jewish Community Center and Israeli Embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina in the 1990s.  And he’s behind a number of murderous, anti-American, anti-Israel, and anti-Semitic actions taken by Hezbollah, including the group’s participation in several Al-Qaeda bombings and terrorist attacks against Americans.

Good riddance.  Sadly, he’ll soon be replaced.  The Iranians have a list of candidates ready to be enacted.  I believe that Fadlallah’s sons, Sayyed Ali and Jaafar, are among the top choices.  It will be interesting to see which world leaders and other figures attend Fadlallah’s funeral, set for Tuesday.  Will Syrian dictator Bashar Assad and Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri attend?  Or will they send condolences, which is just as bad.  The so-called “moderate” Hariri has already praised this mass murderer as a “voice of moderation”:

Who cares about Wimbledon?  Yawn.  In a far more exciting, um, “sport,” American Joey Chestnut, once again, won the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest–his fourth title in a row.  54 hot dogs in 10 minutes for a $20,000 pay-off ain’t bad.

Missing from this year’s contest was Chestnut’s biggest rival, Takeru Kobayashi.  Well, he was there.  But while he didn’t compete, Kobayashi got arrested, after improperly taking the stage.  On an interesting note, watch this “What’s in my Fridge?” video with Chestnut showing what he normally eats and the various Major League Eating contests he’s won.  It’s kind of interesting.  The guy is no tub of lard.

Happy Independence Day, America.

Today’s Fourth of July marks America’s 234th birthday and 234 years of freedom and independence from tyranny and the rule of a monarchy. But it also marks decades of letting those who want to take this all away from us, particularly Muslims, impose their wills on our laws, our culture, and our general lifestyle. We cannot allow this to stand or we will fall.

We hope for an endless, infinite number of repeats and an endless supply of freedom and liberty. The more we keep kissing the rears of those who would destroy us (you know, from a certain “Religion of Peace”), the less likely that will be.

Unusual for a Fourth of July/Independence Day Holiday weekend, there are no blockbusters at the movies this weekend, unless you consider the teen angst rehash, “Twilight: Eclipse,” to be one.  And despite huge opening ticket sales, I don’t.  It’s not a major movie, great epic, or thrilling action adventure, just a movie aimed at teen girls.  Here are my reviews of what’s new this week at the movies (yes, it’s another must-rent weekend):

* “Cyrus“: Probably the creepiest movie of the summer, this dark comedy tells the story of a socially-inept, loser, divorced bachelor (John C. Reilly) who romances a single mother (Marisa Tomei) whose relationship with her 21-year-old son (Jonah Hill) is bizarre and far too close. The son gets in the way and pulls mind games to sabotage the relationship. Very funny, but kinda gross and uncomfortable, too. Playing mostly at arthouse movies for a reason. Definitely not for kids for so many reasons.
