Not Guilty Verdict Looking More Likely for Cabbage Patch Doll Guv

By Debbie Schlussel

Perhaps his and his wife’s strategy of appearing on dumb NBC reality shows worked.

A couple of weeks or so ago, I predicted that deposed Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich would be found guilty by a federal jury in Chicago.  But, now, it looks like I should hedge my bets.

U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald Protected Obama & Company re Blago

Today’s the ninth day of jury deliberations.  And, as any defense attorney can tell you, the longer a jury stays in the jury room, the more likely they will acquit a criminal defendant.  If they thought he was guilty, the jury members would have likely delivered their verdict within a day or two.  So, it looks good for Blago. He’s likely to be acquitted, or the trial will end with a hung jury.

Gloria Allred’s Daughter, White House Crashers Threaten Dumb Lawsuit

By Debbie Schlussel

One of this site’s commenters once compared annoying feminist lawyer (redundant phrase) Gloria Allred to Al Sharpton.  And that’s right on the money.  Allred is the White Al Sharpton with a vagina.  And the same goes for her daughter.  The apple doesn’t fall far from the infected tree, in this case.

While, last week, Allred was busy shaking down HP over alleged sexual harrassment by an actress from a reality show, her daughter, Lisa Bloom, was busy threatening ABC’s “The View” with a lawsuit for allegedly “torturing” White House crasher and “Real Housewives of D.C.” reality show star Michaele Salahi.  Hmmm .  . . this is yet another one of those feuds I wish could go on forever and that both sides would lose.  The loathsome Whoopi “I love Helen Thomas ” “I don’t think we really landed on the moon” “Roman Polanski didn’t rape-rape” Goldberg touched the equally loathsome Mrs. Salahi on the arm for not answering questions about crashing the White House.  Allred’s daughter, Bloom, calls this “torture,” and is threatening suit.

Incredible.  This woman is lucky she isn’t behind bars.  And, um, why isn’t she? On the other hand, I wouldn’t want that annoying Marxist she-man bizarro with the mock-Judaism stage name touching me, either. Between the two of them, it’s like Alien v. Predator, Donald v. Rosie-style.

Here’s the video of what really happened . . . and what should have happened:

Your Day in Islamic Natural Selection

By Debbie Schlussel

Hmmm . . . maybe Turkey shouldn’t be so worried that Israel killed 9 of its terrorists on the HAMAS Gaza Flotilla, when it seems the Turks do their own share of killing of their own just to celebrate a wedding.  Time for the world to condemn Turkey for the bloodshed of these innocent party-goers.

Religion of Peace: Funeral for Relatives Shot @ Sunday Turkish Wedding

From Hurriyet, Turkey’s English language daily newspaper:

A groom accused of accidentally killing three relatives at his wedding when he fired into the air with an assault rifle in celebration has denied the allegations, news agencies reported Monday.

Eight other relatives were wounded in the incident, which took place Sunday in Akçagöze, a village of Sehitkamil district in the southeastern province of Gaziantep.

Weekend Box Office: “The Other Guys”

By Debbie Schlussel

If you liked “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy,” you’ll definitely like “The Other Guys,” starring Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg. But it is far more raunchy, and I’m more than shocked by the PG-13 rating, given a lot of the explicit sex references and language.

theotherguys

While I could have done without that stuff, I enjoyed the many laughs. At times, it’s simply hilarious. At other times, the jokes are corny, too vulgar, and/or go on too long like a “Saturday Night Live” skit. But it’s got everything: comedy, lots of great lines, lots of action, a crime story, cops, guns, shooting, and a hot chick (Eva Mendes as Ferrell’s wife).

I could have done without the movie’s anti-capitalist message, as the chief villain is a Bernie Madoff figure (Steve Coogan), whom we first see when he’s speaking at the “Center for American Capitalism.” And there’s the fact that attempted murderer and thug Mark Wahlberg is one of the movie’s stars.  But I loved the non-stop rips on the Prius driven by Ferrell’s character, including this, after the Prius was stolen:

We found the Red Prius. It’s trying to vote for Ralph Nader.

And this exchange:

HILARIOUS VIDEO: Jay Leno on Barack Obama’s Birthday Party

By Debbie Schlussel

It’s a pretty stark sign of how bad a President Barack Obama is when even his royal chief butt-kisser, Jay Leno, is now pulling no punches in his monologue on the guy.

Twitter Death Threat of the Day

By Debbie Schlussel

Even when I’m away, it never stops.  This is what I have to deal with on a daily basis.  Sometimes–many times–it’s far more frequent than that.  Go to the actual tweet and note the peace signs this violent biotch–whose name is apparently Amber Lopez–displays.  Peace, indeed . . .

Back From the Field

By Debbie Schlussel

Hey, dear readers, sorry for my absence for most of today. You’ve probably noticed I’ve posted a lot less on this site for the last week or so.  I assure you that is temporary and will be posting my movie reviews and some other stuff later today.  My absence is because of two things:  some important cases I am working on, and dealing with a new batch of extremely frightening Muslim rape and murder threats on my life.  I take all of that very seriously and am working with law enforcement on it.  And I’ve been working on some exciting cases involving protecting average Americans from Islamic discrimination.  I will be announcing some of these, as well as reports from some interesting hearings and events, very soon.

busybee

Also, as you may know, I’m a practicing attorney and was in Michigan’s G-d country a/k/a rural farmland area representing a client.  Would have posted something before I left, but I expected that I’d be back in the morning.  However, what normally might take only a few minutes ended up taking up most of the day because of many complications.  It had to be done because I am passionate about the cases I take on and do everything I can to get the result I seek.  I cannot talk about the case in question for many reasons, but my client was being held in jail on a $250,000 cash or surety bond, which means you have to put up $250,000, not a percentage of that.  I got that reduced to $250,000 personal recognizance, which means my client was released without paying anything.  That’s the kind of result I get.  If you are interested in hiring me for legal representation, you know where to contact me. In this kill what you eat world, it helps keep this site and my work going.

I loved driving through this area with old houses, old farms, and quaint downtowns.  One farm had a giant statue of a rooster, which was cool.  Will have to take a pic, next time, so I can post it.

Anyhow, that’s why I was out of blog action for most of the day.  But now I’m back.  Working on my movie reviews and next posts now.  Stay tuned.

On the Gay Marriage Decision: Is It Just Me . . . ?

By Debbie Schlussel

Is it just me . . . or did you also notice that a good deal of the coverage of Judge Vaughn Walker’s ruling (and the ruling, itself) in favor of gay marriage seems to engage in a lot of annoying Miss California USA Carrie Prejean BS about “opposite marriage”? Remember her answer at the 2009 Miss USA pageant, in which she tried to straddle both sides of the fence on gay marriage? She said in America we can choose between gay marriage and “opposite marriage.”

gaymarriagehomersimpson

Not Marriage

The thing is, all of this pontificating by Judge Walker and the media covering his decision on California’s Proposition 8 is full of a term that doesn’t exist, “opposite-sex marriage,” or “opposite marriage,” in Miss California jargon. There is only one kind of marriage, between a man and a woman. This “opposite sex marriage” term has been invented to discredit it and make it not only equal to but inferior to gay marriage. Using the term “opposite marriage” sounds weird and dysfunctional. Marriage doesn’t need an adjective. It’s already defined. Putting opposite in front of it is like saying, “hot fire” when issuing a determination that fire can also be ice cold. It’s absurd. But the federal judge and the media have to resort to adding this repetitive adjective as a preamble to the word “marriage,” or they know their case is failed before it has begun. They have to use this nonsensical adjective as a way to justify the unjustifiable. It’s a game of linguistics. But we know what marriage is. And it ain’t between two dudes. Or two WNBA fans in brush cuts and “sensible” shoes.

Watch these videos from last night’s NBC Nightly News coverage of the decision, and you’ll see what I mean:

Hilarious VIDEO of the Day: Iranian Ad for “Farrokh’s Fireworks Farm”

By Debbie Schlussel

As you probably know, this week there was a bombing assassination attempt on Iran’s loony President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. But, because gays, the Holocaust, and terrorists don’t exist in Iran, everyone there loves the Prez, and the Tehran streets are paved with Halava and lollipops, they can’t admit to that. So, the official Iranian line is that it was a firecracker set off by a fan of Herr Ahmadinejad. Uh-huh. Check out this hilarious “ad” for an Iranian “firecracker” store to get what Muslims mean by that . . .

At Gravel Road and Rock Pile, across the street from Turban Town.

Hilarious VIDEO: Let’s Hear It for the New Taliban Terrorist “Code of Conduct”

By Debbie Schlussel

No joke.  The Taliban, in a move to soften its bad public image (it appears that’s the reason), has issued a new “code of conduct,” which is 69 pages long.  It essentially says that you shouldn’t attack Afghan civilians, unles they side with the Afghan government or NATO.  Oh, wow, what gents!

talibantoyota

“Kinder, Gentler” Taliban: Oh, What a Feeling to Drive Toyota (& Kill People)!

That’s kinda like a Manson Family code of conduct which says not to kill pregnant celebrities and cops unless they side with being human.  Not sure, either, why it took the Taliban 69 pages to note this basically one-sentence policy, which is really same ol’, same ol’.  And that might explain why, despite this facade of a “code of conduct,” the terrorist group killed 220 Afghan civilians in July alone.  Way to go, guys, with that new Taliban era of “moderation.”

And what exactly about this policy is new?  Not sure.  But this “Newer, Softer” Taliban campaign might be in response to leaks about Obama wishing to talk with and reach out to these bloody terrorists.  Either way, it reminds me of a HILARIOUS past video I posted on this site (back in January), which is equally apropos to this Taliban “code of conduct”:
