Ashley Judd Said What?! Thank G-d Kentucky is a Red State

By Debbie Schlussel

Why is has-been actress Ashley Judd (real name: Ashley Tyler Ciminella) endorsing the wacko idea that all heterosexual sex with women, even if it’s consensual, is rape by the man?

ashleyjudd

ashleyjuddobama2

In a recent speech, Constitutional scholar Judd urged her audience to read the work of Catharine MacKinnon, the University of Michigan law professor whose claim to fame is her bizarre and warped assertion that any man who has sex with an adult woman is a rapist, regardless of consent by the woman. See the video, below, in which she says, “Read Catharine MacKinnon!” (at about 3:17 into it).

Judd is rumored to be seeking the U.S. Senate seat from Kentucky in 2014, and so she’s building her resume and claiming to be an expert on child sex-trafficking. Her credentials in that field apparently consist of starring in movies (most of them crappy), kicking fellow classmates out of her home near Harvard (after she invited them), attending University of Kentucky basketball games, and wearing a dumb t-shirt that says, “This is What a Feminist Looks Like.” Problem is, even if she had any credentials other than these–and she doesn’t, she’s now endorsing this fruitcake, MacKinnon, and her “all hetero sex between adults is rape of the woman” BS as some sort of background for child sex trafficking. Yes, Ashley, MacKinnon was even talking about sex between you and your hubby, race car driver Dario Franchitti (who is mockingly known as “Mr. Ashley Judd” in racing circles, since he ain’t the one wearing the pants in the marriage), which has thankfully never resulted in a new generation of Ashley Judds. JoAnn Watson: Meet the Racist Whackjob Detroit City Council Chick Demanding Obama Bailout

By Debbie Schlussel

When I first saw the video, yesterday, on local Detroit news, of Detroit City Councilwoman JoAnn Watson demanding an Obama bailout because of Black votes for Obama, I knew it would go viral. But it’s hardly a surprise to anyone who has followed the whackjob Watson as I have over her long “career” as a Black supremacist and Detroit politician. She never met a race card she didn’t play. But that’s par for the course when it comes to the People’s Republic of the Detroit City Council. It’s no shocker that Obama is now planning to come to Detroit to pimp his plan to raise taxes on the wealthy. That plays well with the folks who elected Watson and her ilk.

As I’ve previously noted on this site, Watson canceled a contract for a Black boxer to get paid ten bucks an hour to train young Black boys in a boxing class. Her reason: the Black former pro boxer wasn’t Black enough because he lived in a Detroit suburb where White people live, instead of Detroit (from which Blacks are leaving in droves). As I noted then, this boxer would have been the only father figure most of these kids would ever have in their lives, but JoAnn Watson made sure that would never happen. Watson loves herself and her racism so much that she spells her first name two different ways (“JoAnn” and “Jo Ann”).

Watson made a career of racial politics and regularly attending Nation of Islam events in Detroit as an honored guest of Louis Farrakhan. She also serves on the board of the Detroit NAACP, which honored Rev. Jeremiah Wright, even after all of his anti-Semitic, racist, pro-HAMAS, bigoted sermons came to light. And Watson voted for and strongly supported “Black-only” contracts and empowerment zones (which she called “African Town”) in Detroit. Yup, that’s the way to get Detroit out of the never-ending dung hole it’s in, right? Read the rest of this entry »

Dave Brubeck, Jazz Great (& Anti-War Liberal), RIP

By Debbie Schlussel

Longtime readers know that I’m a jazz fan and especially like the work of Dave Brubeck, tastes I learned from my late father who used to take me to many jazz concerts and gave me his CD collection which includes a lot of Brubeck’s work. Brubeck, a tremendous, prolific talent–both a pianist and composer–died today at age 91. Even if you don’t know of Brubeck, you’ve no doubt heard what he’s most famous for, “Take Five,” which he did not write (it’s in the video below), and you probably know his “Charlie Brown” work. Or his “Blue Rondo a la Turk” (also in a video below).

Dave Brubeck, Kennedy Center Honoree, 2009

When I say I’m a fan of his work, it doesn’t include his anti-War stuff to protest Vietnam. I noted that and what he did during World War II when he turned 90. Here’s part of what I said then:

Over his nine decades he’s contributed a lot to American music, for the better (though I definitely don’t agree with his musical protests during the Vietnam War, a noticeable hole in his otherwise positive contributions to America). Brubeck’s sense of rhythm, tempo, and melody–and the ability to arrange them into great sound–is incredible. And he’s a great jazz pianist, in addition. As a composer, he wrote for orchestras and even TV soundtracks, including the “Charlie Brown” specials. . . . Read the rest of this entry »

WTF?! Nidal Malik Hasan Judge Removed for “Bias” After Ordering Beard Shaved

By Debbie Schlussel

The tragedy for America and the 13 lives that Nidal Malik Hasan took in an Islamic terrorist attack on Fort Hood is that, more than three years after the mass murder he perpetrated, he has yet to face justice and be tried. This savage should have been tried, convicted, and executed long ago. And this is in military court, which is supposed to be more serious than other courts. But apparently not. Instead, it’s turned into a circus and a charade, with the latest news that the judge in the case, Col. Gregory Gross, has been removed for “bias,” primarily for ordering Hasan’s beard shaved. Huh?

A military judge’s “duel of wills” with Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan over whether Hasan would have to shave made the judge appear biased, requiring his removal from the case, a military appeals court ruled Monday. . . . Hasan, who is Muslim, said that he had grown the beard for religious reasons and that it was protected under freedom of religious expression. Read the rest of this entry »

Abdullatif Aldosary: Muslim Immigrant Bombed AZ Social Security Office in Terrorist Attack, Hid Bombmaking Recipes

By Debbie Schlussel

Yesterday afternoon, an Iraqi Muslim immigrant, Abdullatif Ali Aldosary, was arraigned for detonating an explosive at a Casa Grande, Arizona Social Security Administration office on Friday. The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force is the main group investigating the case and a Federal Criminal Complaint was filed on Saturday. The affidavit in the case is chilling because it details the many recipes for bomb making hidden in his home. Aldosary, by the way, was given asylum in the U.S. as a refugee, and he’s just one of the many Arab refugees we take in who end up becomeing terrorists and criminals. He’s already a felon and was convicted of aggravated harassment for which he served prison time.

Abdullatif Ali Aldosary: More “Religion of Peace” “Peacefulness” in Bombing of AZ SocSec Office

Abdullatif Aldosary, a convicted felon who lives in Coolidge, is accused of being the person who detonated an “explosive device” outside the Social Security Administration building in Casa Grande Friday morning, November 30th. . . . The feds had a search warrant by Friday night, and they found plenty of recipes and materials for explosive devices, the complaint says.

There was a cache of documents hidden behind a photograph on a wall in the house, including “materials and equipment needed to make RDX…homemade nitroglycerine, ammonium nitrate from homemade chemicals, how to make a bomb from homemade chemicals, and recipes from the Anarchists Chemical Cook Book,” the complaint says. There were also handwritten notes labeled “Materials Needed,” which included a list of things included in the aforementioned recipes. Additionally, investigators found receipts for a nitric-acid solution, and a scale from a chemical-supply store in Phoenix. Read the rest of this entry »

Movie Coma Day: Where I Was & What I Saw Today

By Debbie Schlussel

As many readers know, I’m a a longtime film critic for the SiriusXM Patriot Channel’s terrific morning show, “The Mike Church Show,” and you can hear my movie reviews on the show, every Friday morning between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. Eastern (in addition to reading them here on Fridays). Today, I spent hours and hours and hours in a movie theater watching special movie screenings put on by the Hollywood studios for members of the Detroit Film Critics Society (yes, membership has its privileges, including wasting valuable hours of life in a movie theater that you’ll never get back). It’s our annual all day screening day, which I call “Movie Coma Day.” I see so many movies, I’m in a movie coma by the end of the day. I was literally seeing movies from 10:00 a.m Eastern this morning until nearly Midnight. Five movies today, and at least two of them were were three hour sagas badly in need of bathroom break intermissions. One of them was the much buzzed about Bin Laden kill movie, “Zero Dark Thirty.”

film.jpg

I know it sounds like fun, but trust me, seeing every movie that comes out is work, NOT fun. While this is my choice and I’m not whining, I sit through a whole lot of dreck and miss a lot of hours of beautiful daylight just to see the few cinematic gems and warn you off of the rest. We have this annual movie day in order to vote on our annual choices as a major city movie critics group for the year’s best movies, actors, etc. Every major city has one of these movie critics groups, featuring mainstream media movie critics. (We also get many more movie screener DVDs in the mail that we are expected to watch and then cut up and throw out. You wouldn’t believe the number of DVDs I cut up and throw out–a ton of ’em.)

Below are the movies we saw today. Can you guess from the trailers which ones I liked and which I didn’t like? I’m not allowed to say until I review the movies on the date of their debuts. But you, my readers, are very, very good at guessing the answers to that question, which means I’m either very consistent or too predictable (I like to think a little bit of both is a good thing–you know what to expect from me, and I’m not coming out of left field, pun intended). Stay tuned for my reviews when the movies debut.

Again, can you guess which of these movies I liked, if any?: Read the rest of this entry »

Obama Feds Refused to Prosecute Multiple Muslim Death Threats I Got From Dearbornistan

By Debbie Schlussel

Now it can be told. Almost two-and-a-half years ago, I got a series of death threats and endless phone calls from Muslims in Dearbornistan, all because of my “crime” of writing about how Muslims in Dearbornistan tried to murder a Chaldean (Iraqi Christian Arab), Alexander Yono, and he managed to save his own life by stabbing Mohamad Ali Fouad Abboudd, one of the many Muslim men who surrounded him with knives and tried to kill him. After I received the threats, FBI agents came to my home to hear the threats and investigated them, but Obama U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade, who is in the back pocket of Muslims, and the Obama Justice Department Office of Civil Rights refused to prosecute them. If I had called Muslims and made these comments, I’d be behind bars. But there is a double standard of “justice” in America: one for the preferred religion of Islam, and another for the rest of us. So much for the Establishment Clause, forbidding the government to prefer and/or favor a religion. As I’ve noted before, this is not the first Muslim death threat I’ve gotten that the feds refused to prosecute. One of those Muslims who sent me multiple death threats, Lola Elzein-Merhi, is now trying to join the Michigan Bar as a lawyer. The FBI agents told me not to post these messages on my site until the callers were prosecuted, but since they won’t be, I’m posting them now. I get Muslim death, rape, and torture threats like these on a regular basis.

Below is a recording and a partial transcript of some of the unsolicited calls I got, all of them from disposable “drug dealer” phones, all of them from the Dearbornistan area. Note the Islamic “modesty” in the language used in the calls. Oh, and the “peacefulness” of the so-called “Religion of Peace.” Remember, THIS. IS. ISLAM (click on the arrow to hear the recording). . .

Caller #1: Hi, okay, you hung up on my face. I just want to give you a nice little warning. Everybody in Dearborn is coming after you, just to let you know. Abboudd was the brightest guy alive and for him to die when he got stabbed, that stabbed all of us. Just to give you a warning and be kind to you and let you know, his boys are gonna F the hell out of you. You better watch your f–king back. And not only his boys. Everybody in Dearborn’s coming after you, you know, you watch your f–king back, you dumb f–king bitch. Read the rest of this entry »

Yeah That’s Culture: Mid-East Men Get Mustache Implants

By Debbie Schlussel

Few men look good in a mustache (other than the Marlboro Man and Tom Selleck, who long ago shaved off his). And contrary to popular Islamic belief, most of them aren’t Muslims nor do they hail from that region. Despite that, the Muslim world never got out of the Burt Reynolds ’70s trend, and Muslim men from all over are now plowing their money into mustache implants. Don’t you worry, though. The nose job is still the most popular cosmetic surgery in the Arab Muslim world. Saddam Hussein may be dead, but his “look” lives on. Ah, the great advances of technology.

Hot . . .

Not . . .

Oprah Mustache Art by David Lunde/Lundesigns, Design by Debbie Schlussel

Thick, handsome mustaches have long been prized by men throughout the Middle East as symbols of masculine virility, wisdom and maturity.

But not all mustaches are created equal, and in recent years, increasing numbers of Middle Eastern men have been going under the knife to attain the perfect specimen. Read the rest of this entry »

You Knew This Was Coming: Mainstream Media Blames NFL Murder Suicide on NFL Head Injuries

By Debbie Schlussel

Yesterday evening, when news of the Jovan Belcher murder-suicide broke, I tweeted (follow me on Twitter) a prediction that it wouldn’t be long before the mainstream media blamed it on NFL concussions, like they do with virtually everything your typical spoiled, messed-up NFL player does. And I was right. The mainstream media is soooo predictable.

For those who haven’t been following, Belcher played for the Kansas City Chiefs and murdered his babymama girlfriend, then went to the stadium and killed himself in front of team personnel. And, today, this from the Associated Press:

Belcher is the latest among several players and NFL retirees to die from self-inflicted gunshot wounds during the past few years. The death of star linebacker Junior Seau, who shot himself in the chest in at his California home last May, sent shockwaves around the league. Read the rest of this entry »

Weekend Box Office: Hitchcock, Anna Karenina, The Collection

By Debbie Schlussel

I did not particularly like any of the new movies at the box office, this weekend, but if you must see one, it should be . . .

* “Hitchcock“: Despite a star-studded cast (and a cameo by Ralph Macchio of all people), this movie is mostly slow and boring, the exact opposite of Alfred Hitchcock’s tremendous body of work in the creepy and thrilling. Sadly, little of that is captured in this dull, nutty, bizarre “portrayal” of Hitchcock. Anthony Hopkins (who said I was his favorite personality on the “Howard Stern Show”–not sure if that’s a good thing) looks ridiculous in his fatsuit and makeup and more like a caricature or cartoon character than the legendary filmmaker he plays. Sorry, Sir Anthony. It gets even more absurd because the movie shows repeated scenes of Hitchcock talking to the ghost of Ed Gein, the Wisconsin serial killer on whom the “Psycho” story was based. Those scenes are just stupid.

The movie focuses on Hitchcock’s making of “Psycho” and his rocky partnership with his writer wife (Helen Mirren). But it goes off key when it spends too much time on a side story of the wife’s writing relationship with another writer who Hitchcock sees as a sort-of competitor. The parts about the actual making of “Psycho” were interesting, if they are accurate. The movie shows Hitchcock’s fight with the studio and censors to make such a dark movie . . . dark and shocking for that time. He fought the censors for the right to make the shower scene with its multiple stabbings. And he fought the studio to make the movie and get it distributed. After betting his savings and home on the movie, it was interesting to see what he had to do to make it a success. Unfortunately, the movie doesn’t show enough of that stuff and focuses, instead, on esoteric, likely fictional stuff. Read the rest of this entry »
