Overrated lawyer, known plagiarist, and Obama fan Alan Dershowitz joined the legal defense team for Detroit Muslims charged with perpetrating female genital mutilation (FGM), a common Muslim practice. Now, he’s trying to make excuses for it and has engaged the eager Breitbart in his whitewash campaign to fake-news away the real news about what he’s doing.

I’m tired of pseudo-conservatives constantly citing overrated, frequently-losing lawyer and known plagiarist Alan Dershowitz when they need someone to excuse things or give legal cover to something, usually for Donald Trump’s actions as President. We have enough genuine legal scholars to do that, and we don’t need to constantly legitimize and elevate Dershowitz. In reality, he constantly loses prominent cases in which he’s the lead attorney (see the Leona Helmsley tax case, the Mike Tyson appeal, etc.), and his image as some great attorney is largely of his own creation (the books he writes bragging about himself) and Hollywood (the exaggerated movie based on his own puffery of his representation of murderer Claus Von Bulow). And I can tell you, as someone who debated–and kicked his ass–on ABC’s “Politically Incorrect,” his “debate” skills are non-existent. He didn’t know what hit him, and I was a young lawyer without even a fraction of his “experience.” He tried to defend his reputation as a lawyer, and to defend Bill Clinton and O.J. Simpson, and he failed on all counts. (And he got very angry, even months later, when a friend of mine claimed I said hello–I didn’t.)

Dershowitz is known to be a crummy professor and his “scholarly” legal writing consists of bloviating books that are ripped off from others. His first and best-selling book on Israel was exposed as largely plagiarism from the real scholar, Joan Peters, and her terrific book making the case for Israel, “From Time Immemorial: The Origins of the Arab-Jewish Conflict over Palestine.” (I recommend it highly, and buying it from this link will help support this site.) He admitted that he basically stole her research and just cut and pasted it (without even changing inaccurate page numbers for citations), but then blamed it on his students (who he essentially said, wrote the book for him). If you did that at Harvard as one of Dershowitz’s students, you would be expelled for plagiarism. But as an overrated famous professor, you get to keep your job and reputation and get away with it. (Liberal then-Harvard dean Elena Kagan, now an Obama Supreme Court Justice, gave him a pass.)

Nearly two weeks ago, The Detroit Newsistan reported that Dershowitz joined the legal defense team of Detroit-area Muslim doctors who are members of the Dawat-e-Hadiyah/Dawoodi Bohra, an Indian Shi’ite sect. The doctors, as you’ve no doubt read, conducted female genital mutilations on what the feds say are hundreds of girls, many of whom traveled to Michigan to have part of their genitals removed, so that sex will be painful to them for the rest of their lives.

Mayer Morganroth, a prominent Detroit criminal defense lawyer (who once represented Jack Kevorkian and John DeLorean), is the one who relayed the news. Morganroth was the one who did the Dershowitz hiring and explicitly told the News Dershowitz would be involved in the Muslims’ legal defense of their engagement in FGM.

Dershowitz and prominent Birmingham defense attorney Mayer Morganroth were hired about three weeks ago by the Dawat-e-Hadiyah. . . . “They hired us to protect the people charged and represent the religious organization,” said Morganroth, who has represented numerous high-profile clients, including ex-Detroit Mayor Coleman A. Young, auto executive John DeLorean and Jack Kevorkian. . . . “I’m sure Alan will show up,” for court hearings, Morganroth said.

Dershowitz was hired because

the move adds legal firepower to a defense that appears to be focused on First Amendment issues and religious freedom. . . . Defense lawyers say the girls underwent a benign religious procedure.

Dershowitz thought he could take the jihadist money and help these Muslims continue to dissect girls and forever scar and pain them, and get away with it. But he didn’t like the many stories about his newest sleazy lawyer role. So, he contacted his friends at Breitfart–who like him for his defenses of Trump–and got them to engage in fake news and whitewashing.

On Monday, Breitfart–very late to the story–claimed that Dershowitz was not defending the Muslims in their FGM case and that this was “fake news” broken Saturday by the New York Times. The Breitfart author, Michael Patrick Leahy, clearly has reading comprehension difficulties and is Google-challenged. A quick read of the relevant portion of the New York Times article clearly states that it was citing an Associated Press report on Dershowitz’s role on the Muslim FGM defense team.

Recently, the Dawat-e-Hadiyah, an organization overseeing smaller Shiite Muslim sects, hired two well-known lawyers, Alan Dershowitz and Mayer Morganroth, to help the defense, The Associated Press reported.

I guess Breitfart and Leahy decided that it isn’t as sexy to attack AP as it is The New York Times. So, they lied about it.

A Google search would have shown the story was actually broken nearly two weeks ago by The Detroit News’ Robert Snell. Again, Breitfart and Leahy concluded that sending readers to the actual story would tell them the truth and not help them whitewash their liberal friend Dersh as a victim of “liberal fake news” from the NYT.

Dershowitz now claims to Breitfart and to the left-wing, Dersh-mancrushing Jewish Telegraphic Agency that he is absolutely opposed to female genital mutilation and that he is not on the Muslims’ defense team. He says he’s merely advising them to do a “pin prick” on the girls’ vaginas instead. He loathsomely insinuates Judaism into this and talks about Jewish male circumcisions. It’s disgusting. And it’s baloney. Jewish male circumcision has absolutely NOTHING to do with Muslim female genital mutilation. There’s no comparison or moral equivalency. Lumping Jewish male circumcision in with Muslim FGM is like comparing apples to Mack trucks. It doesn’t jibe. Not even close.

Dershowitz is reportedly charging the Dawoodi Bohra at least $100,000, likely more. They aren’t paying him that for his pin-prick advice. He isn’t a doctor or a religious cleric with any expertise in circumcision. They are paying him for his criminal defense advice, as his good friend Mayer Morganroth told The Detroit News. Nobody pays a lawyer 100K merely to tell them, “Hey, do a pin prick.”

Moreover, the Dawoodi Bohra would never agree to that. I’m familiar with the Dawoodi Bohra because I had a typically-arrogant member of this Muslim sect try to hire me as a lawyer (for a different matter) more than a year ago. And I’ve seen the DB group around town–many of their women wear brightly colored, apparently-handmade, old-fashioned-looking outfits that are distinctive. They believe in the full deal of FGM. They remove a membrane from girls’ genitals. The whole idea is to make sex feel like torture for them, so that they won’t do it or engage in masturbation. That’s how it works in Islam. And, particularly in the Dawoodi Bohra, within which there have been a few independent (and marginalized) voices for years who’ve argued against the full FGM as the barbarism that it is. Those individuals have been put in haram (excommunicated) by their mosques.

The group has NEVER and WILL NEVER agree to a pin prick. Dershowitz is bull-s–ting people and he found two gullible, fake news sources in Breitfart and JTA to take his bait.

Dershowitz defended these Muslims to JTA as people who want to abide by the law. Hilarious. If they wanted to abide by the law, why have they been hiding this illegal practice for years and instructing parents and young girls not to tell anyone about it and to lie to authorities if asked? Documented in filings by the Justice Department in this case are several instances of lying to the FBI by the Muslim doctors who perpetrated this barbarism and the parents who subjected their daughters to this. Those aren’t actions of people who “want to obey the law,” but, rather, people who want to evade it. And why were the female genital mutilations performed at odd hours late into the night when they thought no one was paying attention to the doctor’s office where this was going on? And why did they ignore and ostracize the few activists and independent voices within their own sect, who told them this was illegal, barbaric, and that it had to stop? Why are they lying about the extent of cutting that they do to the young girls’ clitorises (they claim they are merely “scraping” the genitals, which is a total lie)? Is this really the behavior of people who would now suddenly accept a “pin prick” from Rabbi Imam Alan Dershowitz, newly-minted female circumcision doctor?

Alan Dershowitz will take money from anyone who will pay his high fees. On Detroit’s Eight Mile, we have a name for that: hooker (the more technical term is “ho”). He has no real set principles, no scruples, and no particularly outstanding or unique intellect, despite the hype and largely-manufactured reputation. Now he’s trying to pretend otherwise–that he’s some great principled hero of women’s rights and wants to help stop FGM. PUH-LEEZE. Don’t believe the hype. He is taking money to help enable it.

Dershowitz is in fact on the defense team for Muslims who engage in female genital mutilation, just like he had no problem hanging out, vacationing, and partying with a known, convicted child rapist, Jeffrey Epstein (one of whose underage rapees says Dershowitz raped her, too–and he never filed his threatened lawsuit to negate those claims).

He’s a scumbag and a liar. And if you read and believed his new claims to Breitfart and JTA–two unscrupulous fake news sources on the respective right and left–you are an easily duped sucker.

The next time you hear anyone cite Alan Dershowitz as an authority on anything, ask the party doing the citing, “Why is Alan Dershowitz taking money to defend Muslim live dissection of young girls’ vaginas?”

Also, the next time you hear anyone cite Breitfart or JTA as a source of anything, tell them you prefer your fiction from someone more skilled at it . . . like the late Tom Clancy. You can’t believe anything you read from these guys.
