“Brokeback Mountain”: XBox 360 of the Gay Community

By
I planned to post a review of “Bareback Mountain,” . . . er, “Brokeback Mountain,” the gay cowboy romance movie, today. Only I can’t.
I went to the screening, last night, only to be turned away despite reservations. Why? Gay activists, gay non-activists, and other sundry gays had been camping out at the theater all day–for hours to see this movie. And they took my seat. This movie is apparently the Xbox 360-esque craze of the gay community, this season.
So, sorry, no review for now. Not that you care much for hearing about a gay cowboy romance. Do you? FYI, this is just one of several gay-centric or tranny movies, this month. It’s just a tad disproportionate compared to straight movies. No wonder box office receipts in 2005 are down.
Maybe that has something to do with the disappearance of masculine, straight cowboys–and masculine, straight men–from the silver screen.

Bareback Mtn eh? That’s pretty funny. It’s always the ‘controversial’ film with ’emotional conflicts’ that all the Hollywood crowd becomes obsessed with and believe everyone else should be as well.

I forgot to mention Ang Lee’s Hulk was on scifi or tnt this past week. I never saw it at the theatre, and glad I did not waste the money. Not very good. I’m surprised it did as well as it did at the office. They repeated it about 3 times in a week, and I never could sit through all of it, and that’s at home. That is how tedious and boring it was.

I’m expecting Hollywood to remake “Can’t Stop the Music” by The Village People of disco “YMCA” fame.
Who comes up with this stuff? I mean, who sat around and thought, “Gay cowboys, now that is a movie that needs to be made.”? It just sounds like such a silly concept. No wonder normal America doesn’t take Hollywood seriously these days. We elected Bush over the gloom and doom cries of Hollywood, and ticket sales have greatly slumped.
I saw on Drudge that King Kong had a very disappointing opening for all the hype. Whether it is or is not a great movie, I think Hollywood’s continuing attempt to shove their left wing social agenda with these homo movies among others is killing Hollywood.
I guess a movie about gay Marines conflicted about being separated in Iraq, who end up saving an HIV positive camel ranch hand from starving, is next on the agenda.

Just another example of Hollywood trying to make gay lifestyle mainstream and let’s face it they are succeeding. Even though, as mentioned above it is a sorry statement on the state of the movie industry right now. They should cut the cr@p and stop blaming people downloading movies or the knock off factories in Asia making bootleg movies as the reason for a downturn in revenues.
If Hollywood would get off their butt and start focusing on entertainment in movies rather than pushing an agenda they might see appeal to the masses come back.

I kinda experienced the Gay cowboy stuff ahead of time, when I took out ‘Fighting Tommy Riley’;I
shoulda figured it out by the Calvin Klein model
on the cover and the fact that it was nominated for several awards, including San Francisco.Tommy’s Jewish trainer-Jews once dominated boxing-makes his move late in the film during a massage scene…which is a preview of why ‘Brokeback’ ain’t gonna be no ‘High Noon’.
