Unfortunately the mother probably won’t get the blame on this one. The Zoo will ultimately be held responsible for not providing a better barrier and momma is going to cash in big time (with some help from Reverend Al, of course).

Whether or not the gorilla intended to hurt the child, the unimaginably immense strength of the beast coupled with the careless handling of the child definitely posed an immediate threat to that child’s life.

So, yes, the gorilla had to be instantly killed.

Obviously, time was of the essence.

I’m just surprised there was an armed employee (or police officer?) so readily available on the scene to respond to that emergency.

And, yes, the mother is entirely to blame for failing to restrain her own child when in the vicinity of wild animals.

2nd. Doubt that she can sue, nothing happened to the child, in fact the child told his mother, he wants to go back.

3. The original account is that the kid had his hand in her back pocket, she turned around to take a picture, and just like that he was gone. Idk if she is a “horrible” mother, idk

There seems to be little interest in the kid’s mom in all this. I realize kids can be fast if you don’t look fast enough sometimes, but it seems to me that it is usually not that easy to get inside these places. It sounds to me that this is something that would take more than a quick second to do.

Hillary and Bill Clinton have thoughtfully provided the services of their old coroner, Dr. Fahmy Malak, to investigate the circumstances of Harambe’s death. Dr. Malak has ruled Harambe’s death a suicide. Apparently, the gorilla felt tormented by the crowd and the crowd’s fears that he would somehow cause harm to the young child, so he took the only way out that he knew how. Thanks to litigation lawyers, the zoo could not risk harm to the child.

The gorilla was a valuable asset to the zoo. The zoo had NO motivation to kill the gorilla EXCEPT to protect the child and the zoo’s financial assets. The zoo’s financial assets support every other animal in the institution. Therefore, (without knowing anything about “the mother”) the custodian of the child bears some responsibility for the resulting loss of the gorilla.

OF COURSE schlussel’s opinion is the only one that matters! I note that she even has a go at the unmarried black mother. I believe that the mother, married or not, failed as a responsible person. In my world I always knew where my kids were at that age by a wrist strap or holding their hand when in a crowd. Maybe because I was more concerned about his welfare than a mobile phone!!

Gorillas are NOT aggressive unless they believe that they or their family are in danger. Of course, as a wild animal, you can’t guarantee to be safe but it looks like Harambe treated the boy as a young gorilla.

As for shooting Harambe, sheer incompetence on behalf of the staff. This is not the first time a child has fallen into a gorilla enclosure but it is the first time I have heard of a young healthy and critically endangered gorilla being shot over it! He was brought in from another zoo presumabley as part of a breeding programme. Difficult to do so when you shoot it.

I watched the video, and the thing which struck me above anything else, were the incessant shrieking morons in the crowd of onlookers. THEY, more than anything else ( with the exception of the mother herself ) are to blame, ultimately, for the death of this gorilla. The gorilla was handling — almost caressing, in fact — the child, until he was understandably freaked-out by the shrieks of the morons watching the scene — in fact, I WAS freaked out by the actions of these idiots, and I was only watching a video on a laptop ! I could only imagine what it must have been like, to have been only a stone’s throw away from the ongoing, blaring shrill chorus of morons ! All I can say is, if I had been in that crowd looking on, I would have had NO reaction that had anything even remotely to do with shrieking my head off ! What the f*** is wrong with these people, anyway ? It was obvious, watching the video, that these idiots’ actions were responsible for triggering the gorilla’s flight, which was the event that triggered the decision to kill him. And the even sadder fact is, it will never even occur to even one of these shrieking morons, that THEY were responsible for the death of this gorilla, and that HIS blood is on their hands ( actually, on their mouths and pea-brains ). Had they simply kept their mouths shut, as any non-drama-queen would have done under the circumstances, and allowed the zoo’s expert staff to handle the situation by luring the gorilla away from the child, things may have indeed turned out very differently in the end.

I talked to a woman friend of mine, being that I have no children of my own. She is a conservative i.e hates Obama etc. She told me that those 4 yr olds can disappear in a sec, and that the mother shouldn’t be crucified. She then told me about her own experience at Disneyland and how a woman almost got away with her son.
Now it seems that the kid crawled under the barrier, so they may be liable.

This incident was just bad all around for everyone involved. First you have a four year old kid who was allegedly told no after wanting to go into the enclosures water. Then you have said child getting through the enclosure and right in the gorilla’s grasp. The zoo for one should’ve had a better set up to keep people from falling in, crawling in, jumping in the enclosure.Then you have the parents who were not keeping a close eye on their child. Say what you want about adults being distracted and their “little crumb snatchers” leaving their eyesight all you want. The bottom line is in a crowded place you need to know where your kid is at all times. That means if you can’t handle taking pictures or talking, texting, adjusting your 10′ selfie stick on your smart phone and watch your little precious then don’t do it. Maybe its’ just me but I remember when my son was about five and we went to the local zoo. He was on my shoulders almost the entire time. When he wanted to go walking around guess where daddy Ken B was. Right on his six (that’s his behind for you parents in Rio Linda and Logan County WV.) All it takes for your child to vanish and to be in the arms of a pervert or a full grown male silverback is a spilt second and as parents we can NOT even afford that. Now for those people moaning about Harambe being put down don’t me wrong I love animals. The gorillas fascinate me more so because they are like gentle giants who are very intelligent. They are also endangered which makes this more tragic. The zoo really didn’t have a choice in the matter. Some idiots think that this was a little monkey who wouldn’t hurt that boy. This ape had enough strength to crush coconuts with its bare hands. He dragged the little kids through the water and may not have intentional tried to do him harm but that could’ve lead to the boy getting hurt worse or being killed. Now you have idiot celebutards like Kaley Cuoco and Kelly Osbourne coming down on the zoo for killing the gorilla. As far as I know neither of these twits has kids. They would probably try to go into the enclosure and pet the “non aggressive but inhumanly strong primate.) In Kelly’s case she’d probably scare the ape away. Dimwitted Hollyweirdo’s should stick to acting. For the parents it’s being reported that they are asking for people to donate money to the zoo in Harambe’s name. My guess is a lawyer of the “caliber” of a Benjamin Crump hasn’t contacted them yet. I’m just waiting for that shoe to drop.

Harambe was kidnapped from his habitat and kept in captivity for entertainment purposes. That should NEVER happen. It is a recipe for disaster. Employees of zoos and marine theme parks die now and then as they train or otherwise attend to animals that are in a place where they don’t belong.

Instead of pontificating about how Harambe had to be killed, why don’t human beings stop doing the stupid things that lead to tragic outcomes?

I was looking at video of the barriers they had in place and in my opinion it was an accident waiting to happen. I also think these people screaming about the dead gorilla should be the ones being condemned but that isn’t going to happened because the opinions of loons in our corrupt society are given equal time instead of being dismissed.

Deters said quite simply “kids can scamper off and they do.” He added, if Gregg had been “in the bathroom smoking crack that would have been a different story, but that’s not what happened.”
