Where I’ve Been & Why I’ve Been Gone

By Debbie Schlussel

I regret that this is the second such post I’ve put up in recent weeks, and I hope there aren’t anymore anytime soon. I’m so sorry for my absence and I am thankful for the concerned and kind comments that so many readers have sent me over the last week or so. It’s very heartening/heart-warming, and I really appreciate that you care so much about my welfare. Thank you so much to the many of you who asked. Thank G-d, I am okay. For the past week or so, I’ve been away for a number of reasons:

* Hackers (Muslim and Polish) attacked this site with increasing ferocity and it was down for about half of the readers, depending upon which browser and technology (mobile, tablet, or desktop) you used. For a period of time, a number of readers (and I, myself) had our IP addresses blocked from the site, too. I and the tech people have worked to get it back up, stop the IP address blockage, and block the threats. And I think and hope we’ve succeeded. Pls let me know if you cannot get on this site again.

* I was in court and at meetings for a special new project and some new cases, both of which I’m excited to announce on this site very soon.

* I was very sick and extremely exhausted from no sleep and working too hard.

* I was away for a couple of days for my gorgeous and brilliant cousin Gabrielle’s Independence Day/patriotic-themed wedding in New York. This wedding was especially meaningful to me because Gabrielle is the granddaughter of three Holocaust survivors, my maternal grandparents, Isaac and Adela Engel, and her paternal grandfather who came to the U.S. from Germany through Canada (where he was briefly arrested and accused of being a Nazi war criminal). The groom is the son of Russian Jews who were Refuseniks who suffered under the Communist Soviet Union, and his father told of how this was the first wedding in the family in seven generations in which the couple were allowed to marry pursuant to Jewish law.

As I looked at all the Stars and Stripes decor and heard all the great speeches about America and how much we love our country, I mused that you’d never see or hear any of this at a Muslim wedding in America (unless it was staged for TV or some other propaganda).

My flight experience, on the execrable Spirit Airlines, is one I hope I will never repeat, as I will avoid that airline like the plague. I could write a whole post on that airline, which I believe made me incredibly sick.

* I meant to return to this site, last night, but, then, I had a freak accident, with my finger getting smashed in a closet door after I tripped on something. Thank G-d, it turned out to be a minor injury and will heal fully and quickly, G-d-willing. I’m already typing, and therefore, it must be okay. It’s my middle finger, so I really need it for “salutes” to the appropriate parties.

* Then, just as I was about to put something up this afternoon, my internet service went down. I’m told a wire was cut. So, here I am at Starbucks working to post some other new stuff.

It killed me that I could not and did not post anything for the Fourth of July. America’s Independence Day is my favorite holiday, of great importance, and one that must be marked. Unfortunately, because of the heretofore mentioned string of events, I couldn’t and didn’t. I hope it’s only this once.

G-d Bless America!

Sorry I was gone for so long. But I’m back. Thanks for your concern and your patience.

I’m glad that you’re doing ok Debbie and sorry about your finger. Like you said I hope that it heals quickly so that give the good old salute to dopey libtards everywhere. Glad that you had fun at that wedding. The last one that I went to was in April of this year and I’ve got two words for you-open bar…LOL. Seriously though you stay strong as we conservatives need you to stay in the fight against all things pc, liberal and just plain idiotic. Take care now.

Very glad to hear you’re okay, Debbie. Not so glad to hear about the problems with the site. And VERY upset to hear about your ongoing health issues.

Although I have well over 43 years involvement in health and fitness, with about 4,000 hours of study in nutrition alone, I know you don’t need my advice. As a retired athlete yourself, you know all you need.

As someone who spent many years working in the legal profession, I am all too aware that many, if not most attorneys, don’t get proper sleep. That is NOT GOOD!!!

Please do something about that last part. I know it’s hard. For your own sake, and that of the people who love you, including right here, please do something about the sleep. I’m sure you’re already there with the exercise and nutrition thingy. And definitely work that middle finger, LOL!!!

Deb:

I have an answer to all your internet problems: Print and snail-mail a newsletter.

Here’s a little tip: When you’re struggling with information technology, ask yourself: “What did we do before the invention of the microcomputer?” The answer tells you exactly what to do every time.

Regards,

Send from my slide rule (Tee hee! Just kidding… about the slide rule; not the rest of the comment.)

Oof. Poor gal. When it rains, it pours. Feel better. I’m not much for planes either. They crash too often for me.

Welcome back!

And yeah…airline air quality is the worst!
“My flight experience, on the execrable Spirit Airlines, is one I hope I will never repeat… which I believe made me incredibly sick.”

I haven’t had any problem connecting to your site.
But did miss not seeing any new posts!

Ebayer on July 10, 2015 at 5:06 pm

We flew Spirit to Cancun. Leg room sucked. It was an Airbus of some make. Of course, leg room on many standard flyers is reduced these days. Still, 10-04 on the airlines’ lack of quality.

Ouch! re the finger. And sorry about the attacks on the site. Though i am not sure why us Poles/Polonians are being blamed. But, if any Poles/Polonians are attacking the site, why?

We can respond to Debbie’s comments about Poles when she makes them. She has posted mine, even though I doubt she agrees with what I said.

State your case. We have a strong case.

For example, we are being “untered” by the most powerful media in the world – a media which is endlessly critical of the way Hitler “ubered” and “untered” others. The double standards are so blatant, it doesn’t take a lot of effort to point them out – politely, of course. The important thing is to keep “the law of loving kindness” on our tongue whatever anyone else may or may not be doing.

The world will do all it can to push every one of us – the children of Adam – off the narrow road that leads to life. Don’t let it.

Another thing would be to fly in under the radar of Skunky and skzion – something I haven’t yet achieved, but maybe my flying skills will improve.

Talking of the fear of flying – yes it seems to be getting more and more difficult and scary. I don’t think I would risk it these days on account of my Knew Knees alone. They would set off every metal detector in the place.

CRASH!! I failed. Oh well, back to flying lessons.
