WOW: PC Spike TV Censors Out This Clint Eastwood Bruce Jenner Joke
You’re not allowed to joke about Bruce Jenner a/k/a Caitlyn. At least that’s the viewpoint of stuck-in-the-mud, politically correct minds at Spike TV. Execs at the cable network will cut a very tame joke Eastwood made at the Spike TV Guys’ Choice 2015 awards on Saturday night.
Spike TV will cut an Eastwood joke about Jenner when the show airs Saturday, June 18. The website Hollywood Life reported that Eastwood made the crack when introducing Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson for an award during the program shot at Sony Pictures Studio in Culver City, CA. Eastwood, 85, compared the San Andreas star to former athletes who have become actors, like “Jim Brown and Caitlyn Somebody…”
David Schwarz, Spike TV senior vice president of communications, confirmed the quote. “We will remove the reference in the version that will air,” Schwarz wrote in an email.
Wow. Somebody needs to inject some humor into Spike, the programming of which is aimed at straight, young males. Its tagline is the sexually-charged double entendre, “Get More Action.” This isn’t the Bravo network. And in fact, Bruce Jenner did act in the notoriously bad movie, “Can’t Stop the Music.”
Cross Bruce Jenner/Caitlyn Jenner off the list of subjects you can joke about. If you can’t make fun of him, what’s next?
Get a life, America.
By the way, I’ll bet Denny Hastert and Duggar child molester jokes aren’t off limits.
Well, if I were Caitlyn (Bruce) Jenner, I would take the joke and laugh at myself, but then again, Jenner isn’t responsible for Spike-TV to pull the joke on her, it was more than likely the head-men of this network that decided to make the decision that I disagree with them on.
