Weekend Box Office: Transvestites ‘R’ Us

By
For normal Americans, there’s nothing good at the movies, this weekend. For the defining deviancy down crowd, there’s a whole lot: Not just one, but TWO (and arguably, three) transvestite movies.
When we say “transvestite movies,” we don’t mean movies that say this is a sick enterprise. Nope. We mean movies that “normalize” depraved gender identity crises into no big deal. We’re supposed to sympathize and identify with men who like to wear women’s clothing and lingerie–and those who get operations to mutilate their bodies accordingly. We’ve written about this disturbing attempt to mainstream “trannies” (here and here), which has, sadly, spread to forcing children to accept transsexual teachers and principals.
Here’s this week’s cavalcade of deviant cinema:
* “TransAmerica“: Stars “Desperate Housewives’ ” Felicity Huffman as a man who is a pre-op transsexual, who fathered a kid while as a man and goes to meet this kid. The kid is a runaway. Talk about traumatizing an already messed up kid. It’s out in limited release today, in the rest of the country by late December.

Huffman & Murphy: Tranny “Beauty” Invades Your Silver Screen

* “Breakfast on Pluto“: A foster kid leaves a destitute life in Ireland for a fabulous life as a transvestite and cabaret dancer in London. How charming. Stars girlie-man actor Cillian Murphy, who played the chief terrorist in “,” which we reviewed .
* “Aeon Flux“: Stars Charlize Theron. Is supposed to be so bad, there were no press screenings, until last night at 10:00 p.m., making it impossible for critics in mainstream newspapers to review it before it’s opening, today. We include this one because Theron plays a very masculine, tough-chick superhero in this one. Basically, a transvestite.
And that’s the point of the Hollywood producers: blur the lines of the sexes. Feminize men, make women masculine.
No thanks.

I don’t know if I’d say nothing good as I’m interested in Chronicles of Narnia. That’s about it.
FWIW, while on vacation recently I attended the world premier of “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” (no, not a documentary of Robert Downey, Jr.s jail stay) at Grauman’s Theatre as a seat filler. I can’t understand the good press it has gotten, it’s a wannabe version of “Sin City.”
Definitely won’t see “Rent”, and even worse, worse, worse is “Brokeback Mountain” coming out soon. Gay cowboys!! I’m sure a gay football players movie will be out soon. YUCK!!!!
I’m hoping “Brokeback Mountain” will bomb big time because it has been hugely hyped and I guarantee it will sweep The Oscars (which I never watch).

Aeon Flux fails my “Bus Stop Enclosure Test.” If an ad for a movie is using Bus Stop Enclosures as part of the push it’s a horridness movie that they didn’t want to spend too much money advertising. In the past 5 years that I’ve walked my route to work every movie I’ve seen with a poster at the bus stops has failed, and Aeon Flux is prominently displayed right now.

It’s weird that hollywood and the politically correct so bash the men putting them down with the jokes and whatnot and yet then make the women out to be “better” with men’s characteristics. Neither are better as the other, they are both better as they were.

Oh, Debbie, how bourgeois! Better stop or I’ll hit you with my purse!

“We mean movies that “normalize” depraved gender identity crises into no big deal. We’re supposed to sympathize and identify with men who like to wear women’s clothing and lingerie”
As opposed to what? Should we stone them? They already get scorned by the masses. People that do that stuff are usually pretty damn weird but Jesus its not like they kill people (like tookie), they dress up, who the hell cares?
“Theron plays a very masculine, tough-chick superhero in this one. Basically, a transvestite.”
Debbie, when you say things like this, it makes me think your a self loathing sexist. Theron walks around in next to nothing in a lot of the movie showing off her femininity, her ability to fight people does not mean shes a transvestite, get over it. I will agree with you though the movie looks terrible.
As for Brokeback mountain, it won best film at the Venice film festival and looks very promising. It takes what you would call “real men” (whatever the hell that is) who just happen to be homosexuals and tells their story. Although watching the loves scenes will probably be the lowpoint of my life, that doesn’t mean it can’t be a good movie. At the very least you have to applaud Ang Lee (who made the masterpiece Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) for having the audacity to make the movie. Its gauranteed to be a box office dud because of the content, he’ll probably take a lot of heat from religous groups, and if the movie had turned out badly it could’ve been the end of his career, overall that took some courage no matter how you spin it.

nicholasedward on December 2, 2005 at 6:54 pm

nicholaseddie’s rant reads like something a doctoral student at the Howard Dean University would write while sitting on the toilet between classes in “Homosexuality & Perversion: A Scientific Approach to Befriending Farm Animals”, and “Peter Pan: A Fairy In Tights, Unlike Any Other”.

Thee_Bruno on December 2, 2005 at 9:30 pm

Nicholasedward:
There is an intermediate position between celebrating their lifestyles and stoning them. We can let boys dress up and play at being girls all in their own little subculture without turning it into a PC morality play.

jerry on December 2, 2005 at 10:53 pm

Bruno, are you kidding me? What are you, 12 years old leaving a comment like that. I left a grand total of 3 responses to things said in the discussion, a Rant would be cursing liberals at every oppurtunity you get (even when it has nothing to with anything) like you do in every single post you make, so don’t give me shit.
Jerry, I agree that there is an intermediate position: Tolerance, and thats where I stand. I have yet to see a movie that glorifies or celebrates the transvestite lifestyle (except maybe Mrs. Doubtfire). I would say more on the subject but gosh I wouldn’t want to be accused of Ranting again.

nicholasedward on December 3, 2005 at 1:53 am

nicholaseddie, wow, that was some rant.
In regard to your initial post on this thread in which you said you didn’t rant, well, let’s take a second look….
You said: “As opposed to what? Should we stone them? They already get scorned by the masses. People that do that stuff are usually pretty damn weird but Jesus its not like they kill people (like tookie), they dress up, who the hell cares?”
You also said: “Debbie, when you say things like this, it makes me think your a self loathing sexist.”
And: “…her ability to fight people does not mean shes a transvestite, get over it.”
And: “It takes what you would call “real men” (whatever the hell that is)…”
And: “…overall that took some courage no matter how you spin it.”
Gee, sounds like a rant to me.
It also sounds like the typical pathetic pablum that dribbles from the mouths of LIBERALS trying to defend the typical piece of perversion that Hollyweird spins out on a consistent basis.
Tell me something; Do you have the complete Blabra Streisand collection, or only her latest works? 😉
BTW, I’m only 6 years old.

Thee_Bruno on December 3, 2005 at 9:14 am

None of those were said with a ranting tone, although I could understand why you would assume that when I said “get over it.”
And now we’ll look at the things you’ve said.
“After all, Skanke West is just as much an America-hating LIBERAL as Kookie.”
“just don’t let the bile eat your insides out. On second thought…let the acids turn your innards into an unrecognizable pile of putrid slime.” (by the way, your crazy)
And finally, the rant of all rants.
“LIBERALS ARE terrorists. Instead of using bombs and planes, LIBERALS use intimidation, the media, academia, the arts, and perverting the Constitution to wage war on America. They’ve been doing so for the last 40 years.
LIBERALS hate American culture, but they love the culture of perversion.
LIBERALS hate American history, but they love the annals of the turd-world.
LIBERALS hate America, but they love America’s enemies.
LIBERALS hate religion, but they love Islam.”
Liberals are terrorists? Liberals hate american history? etc etc. Are you really that stupid or just unbelievably narrowminded? Do you even believe the crap that comes out of your mouth?

nicholasedward on December 3, 2005 at 2:56 pm

nikkie,
Please, do us all a favor, get a rabies shot and wipe the foam from your a$$. You’re nothing but a foaming-at-the-a$$ rabid LIBERAL.
The reason why you’re so upset is because everything that I’ve posted about LIBERALS and their hatred (you, included) for my country, is the TRUTH. You and your ilk have waged war on America for the last 50 years, however, the tide has turned – you’re LOSING! YOU’RE LOSING – you haven’t won an election that matters in 10 years.
Face it…your Totalitarian ideology has even been rejected by those very people who have been subjected to it all over the globe since 1920 – Communism. There’s a reason why Communist refugees flock to this country – to escape the very repressive ideology that you believe in. No one ever flees from a Capitalist society (Free society) to a repressive (Communist) one. No one ever flees from a Capitalist society (Free society) to one dominated by Islam – although you hope that was the case.
Tell us honestly…how many times have you burned the American flag and urinated on the graves at Arlington?
You and Howard Dean make a wonderful couple.
BTW, your rants are pretty pathetic.
And, again, wipe the foam from your a$$.
Take my advice…Stop RANTING!!!!!!

Thee_Bruno on December 3, 2005 at 10:05 pm

Bruno
You feel it necessary to give me advice, well my advice to you is to simply relay Lincoln’s (though some say it was Twain’s) advice to people like you- Better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. Every word you say, you only illustrate to everybody how ignorant you are. You don’t know anything about me (besides my opinion on movies) yet your making all these sensationalist and melodramatic assumptions about my political affiliation. I’m a registered voter and I’m not a democrat, so don’t try to label me you fucking idiot.
“No one ever flees from a Capitalist society (Free society) to one dominated by Islam – although you hope that was the case.”
What the hell are you talking about? When have I ever suggested the middle eastern countries are in better shape than our own??
“Tell us honestly…how many times have you burned the American flag and urinated on the graves at Arlington?

Wow, what an insightful and intelligent post- and not even the slightest bit repetitive. Wipe the foam from my ass, what is that even supposed to mean? I guess because I disagree w/Debbie Schlussel, I’m supposed to be a liberal infected w/rabies and foam at the ass? It is more than evident that I’m having argument with somebody with no class that can only insult and make gross assumptions because you have nothing worth saying.
There is probably little reason to even say this because there is no way you’ll listen, but for what its worth, I happen to love America, but I think its seen better days- and there is absolutely nothing unpatriotic about that.

nicholasedward on December 4, 2005 at 12:24 am

Sorry to interrupt the festivities, but I was mistaken that “Chronicles of Narnia” started last weekend.
Debbie was right, nothing to see this weekend. I got the “Man Show 4th Season” and a great James Woods DVD “Cop” on DVD instead.
As for the various homo movies, if they want to be bold and “courageous” they need to show full blown male homo sex on the screen. Not that I want to see it, but for once show it and let America really see what it’s all about.

Jeff_W on December 5, 2005 at 9:15 am

Since Homosexuals are 2% of the population why does Hollywood keep shoving their perverted lifestyle down our throat.
Every time I turn on Show Time they have some Homosexual propaganda movie or series on. I think they have become the homo channel.
Nick
Real men are not homosexuals.
As far as any of the awards Hollywood passes out they have zero credibility. In general when they announce “critically acclaimed” you can be sure it is another propaganda movie shoving the homosexual lifestyle down our throats.

Well I don’t know if its that low, according to wikipedia, during the 2004 elections 4% of people identified themselves as gay or lesbian- not counting the people who keep it a secret. Then other modern reports say 2-6% of the population are bisexual. That would mean as much as 10% of the population are attracted to or have had relations with the same sex. Now if you think about it that way, the gay propoganda thing isn’t so stong. I gaurantee that gay films do not make up 10% of the movies, and certainly not of mainstream movies.
And about the “real man” comment, I’m just saying your sexuality doesn’t necessarily depend on your personality, and some people whom you would otherwise call ‘real men’ are gay as well. Whether it was intentional or not, I did laugh when I read (real men are not homosexuals). Which begs the question, what makes a real man (besides the obvious)? I’m sure debbie knows, she’s always criticizing somebody for not being a man.
by the way, jeff, I’m pretty sure they’ve gone there with brokeback mountain, and in Alexander as well, as of yet, I’ve seen neither.

nicholasedward on December 5, 2005 at 10:59 pm

It’s been a few days since I last posted here but I’m sure I’ve been missed by some of you, especially nicholaseddie.
I think it’s fair to assume from nicholaseddie’s latast rant that he’s desperately trying to “out” himself without really doing so. He even quoted that infamous 10% gay figure from the flawed Kinsey Report.
nicholaseddie, why don’t you just come “out” and get it over with – not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Thee_Bruno on December 7, 2005 at 9:15 am

So let me get this straight, your assuming I’m gay because I referenced an online enyclopedia about the percentage of homosexuals in the population?
No, I wasn’t quoting the Kinsey report- As i already told you in the post I was referencing Wikipedia, the online encyclopedia. The Kinsey report suggested only 10% of the population was truly heterosexual and 10% of the population was truly homosexual- Everyone else was a bisexual to varying degrees. I said about 4% are gay and as much as 6% are bisexual. That leaves a 90% heterosexual population, which is vastly different from what Kinsey said. I gotta ask, do you even read the things I say?
By the way, if it even actually needs saying, I’m not gay, not that theres anything wrong with that (haha).

nicholasedward on December 7, 2005 at 6:14 pm

I completely agree with this. The demasculizing of America and in fact the entire West is not just something fun to grumble about (well it’s that too), it’s a huge threat to our psychological fitness. The truth is, there are just as many women who believe that as men, and they tend to be a lot more attractive than the ones who don’t. I guess you don’t need to be politically correct unless you’re ugly.
