Add Bob Seger to List of Global Warming Hypocrite-Pimps, Anti-Gun Nuts

By Debbie Schlussel

Remember the 1980s when Bob Seger’s songs were the anthems of working-class Reagan Democrats with good values? Those days are over. You can now add Seger to the list of hypocritical global warming pimps and anti-gun nuts.

We’ve Got Tonight, Who Needs Tomorrow?: Global Warming Pimp Bob Seger’s Carbon Footprint 30,000 Square Foot Michigan Mansion

Above is an aerial view of Seger’s multi-million-dollar, 30,000-square-foot mansion on LaPlaya Lane in Michigan’s wealthiest city (by average income), Orchard Lake Village, Michigan. (I’m very familiar with Orchard Lake because when I ran for the Michigan House of Representatives, I campaigned in and won the city.) But don’t let the facts that Seger owns many cars, made millions off of licensing his songs for Chevy truck commercials, and has a carbon footprint as big as Al Gore’s get in the way of Seger’s new desperate, politically-correct attempt to stay relevant. At age 70, his latest–and probably his last–album, out Tuesday, is full of anti-gun and global warming pimpitude. Apparently, this formerly patriotic songman has spent too many “Hollywood Nights.”

Now that Seger is old and out of the car commercial biz, he apparently feels the only way to get attention is to sing songs like “The Devil’s Right Hand,” an anti-gun song, and climate-change lecture ditties on his new album, “Ride Out.” My friend, Brian McCollum, the Detroit Free Pressistan’s music critic, interviewed Seger, and the cryptkeeperish rocker wanted to make sure everyone knows about his hypocritical new politics and the message he wants to send in his new muzak offerings:

“When you’re my age, you’re very, very aware of your mortality,” says Seger, who will turn 70 in May. “You start thinking, ‘I’ve got to speak up before it’s too late and I can’t even get a record deal anymore.'” . . . Environmental matters dominate several new songs, most notably “It’s Your World” (“Say a prayer for the victims of extinction,” he sings. “Say another for the redwood trees”). It’s an ominous-toned take on climate change that Seger knows could prove divisive among fans. Here, after all, is one of the Industrial Belt’s most prominent musicians going green. He says his management team “is petrified of it.”

“People are going to be mad at me. There may be a lot of people that won’t come to the shows because of it,” he says. “But I just feel it’s something I’ve got to say.” He presses the point, brandishing a news article about the United Nations’ latest climate-change report. “There are a lot of culprits in climate change, and everybody’s responsible, myself included,” he says, voice rising. “Nobody gets a free pass on this one. We’ve got to change our ways and change them fast.”

If you listen to the sample song on the Freep site, Bob Seger should have retired long ago. Hearing Seger try to hit the high notes in bad pseudo-folk songs is like listening to a sheep being beheaded for an ISIS sacrifice on Eid Al-Adha. Bob Zimmerman called. He wants his pre-Dylan bad folk act back.

By the way, speaking of changing our ways, Seger hasn’t changed his any. Note that in the Freep interview, Seger only mentions his Clarkston, Michigan cabin, not his multi-million dollar mega-mansion. While he lectures the rest of us about “climate change,” here are some interesting details of the interior of his Orchard Lake Village estate. It contains

a reverse osmosis (water filtration) room that is almost 500 square feet, a huge exercise room, 4 laundry rooms, 8 bedrooms, 14 bathrooms, 3 kitchens, a whole bay for dumpsters and a generator that is the size of a hummer and 12 air conditioner units.

That’s not to mention the two-story closet attached to the his-and-her master suites (I guess they don’t sleep in the same bed–too much, um, human “global warming” odor?). Or the kids’ “lounge.” Does your kid have a lounge (and a suite)?

Um, if you believe in manmade global warming or “climate change,” I’m sure the 500-square-foot water filtration room, four laundry rooms, 14 bathrooms, generator the size of a hummer and 12 air conditioners contribute just a tad more to this make-believe “problem” than the energy consumption of you and me, the average Joes. But why let the facts or the hypocrisy get in the way of Bob Seger’s latest musical lecture? After all, he’s set to perform his enviro-trash on “Ellen” and “The Jimmy Kimmel Show,” later this week.

Oh, and did I mention that Seger himself owns many “Devil’s Right Hands” and is an avid hunter? Do as I say, not as I do. Soooo frickin’ typical.

Instead of the title of his new album, “Ride Out,” I have a better suggestion for him: GO. AWAY.

I’m sad that Bob Seger turned into just another lefty hypocrite. In college in the mid-to-late ’80s, I and my friends traveled to Downtown Detroit to go to one of his concerts at Joe Louis Arena. And it was a lot of fun. He was a showman who exuded American values of hard work, integrity, and decency. Now, he’s just another cheap pimp of everything that’s destroying those things. I guess with the death of much of America’s blue collar, Bob Seger is desperate to create another niche.

But it won’t work. Only a few aging baby boomers like him, struggling to hold on, will buy this album of crap. The rest of us have moved on, since Seger’s made clear that his talent died long ago (maybe at the hands of a Silver Bullet). Limousine liberalism is anathema to Bob Seger’s once-vibrant fan base. And politics is the last refuge of a scoundrel, especially in the music biz.

And that’s why I predict this last, leftist gasp by Bob Seger will sink “Like a Rock.”

***

One other thing: since Bob Seger made millions licensing his songs to Chevy for auto commercials, shouldn’t he donate all of it to some enviro-nutty group that tells you to ride bicycles made of recycled Q-tips? Nah, these hypocrites never give the money back or change their ways. They just lecture you. Again, do as they say, not as they do.

Marie Antoinette Seger: Let them eat exhaust fumes.

So, rich people can’t care about the working man? Seger worked on the assembly line in Detroit. He used to come home with so much glass in his clothes he had a constant rash.

Angry because Bob believes the whole of the scientific community when they say that global warming is real and it’s primarily caused by us? Who should he believe? The politicians who are getting kickbacks from the oil companies?

This is an asinine hit piece and you should be ashamed of yourself.

Bob Seager was before my time, I know his name but very little of his music. I understand the point that the author is making regarding his global warming hypocrisy. (It doesn’t mention if he is a gun owner).

Where I disagree and something I can’t seem to comprehend is why Repubs deny that global warming is happening. Why do repubs vehemently deny this? Its foolish. Even more foolish if its just political posturing.

I have never watched an All Gore film and understand why he is called a hypocrite with his Mega Mansion too. However how can a sensible person deny that there are less trees, which means more carbon dioxide and less oxygen emitted. Rain forest in Africa and Brazil are virtually nonexistent.

China’s air looks like polluted filth. Antarctica is disappearing g. Open your eyes, stop with the political foolishness and admit that all this pollution and less trees, more people is affecting the earth. Stop with the denial. Its silly.

MBB: Yes, I did mention that Bob Seger has several “Devil’s Right Hands” a/k/a guns and that he’s an avid hunter. DS

Manmade Global warming is a hoax perpetrated on green zealots by the global elite looking to cash in on the Green industry they’d hoped it would create.

Global temperature changes are much more likely to be the result of Solar output changes than man made issues.

Incidentally, why did we have Ice Ages and Global warming and cooling before man? See above.

Further, there have been no temperature changes of significance in 18 years.

No surprise here. Bob’s gonna score media & lefty-prog points for saying “…I care..” And feel good about himself even though he’s sacrificing NOTHING to do it. That’s liberalism 101.

To question ‘Climate Change’ would in effect eradicate his Rolodex and render him persona non grata amongst the elites who made similar cost free ‘sacrifices’.

P. Aaron on October 13, 2014 at 5:07 pm

Minor correction. Seger’s “Like a Rock” commercials were for Chevrolet, not Ford. Also, Seger actually was in the Gore camp going back to 2007. I know this because he was once featured on National Palestinian Radio back then, where he expressed support for Gore’s global warming theme. But let’s give Seger some credit for helping the environment. During the cold Winter months, Seger leaves his sumptuous Orchard Lake Village mansion for his mansion in Naples, Florida–thereby saving the enormous heating costs he would otherwise have to spend, helping the environment. Of course, there’s the air conditioning costs, but whose counting? And it’s the principle of the thing.

Ralph Adamo on October 13, 2014 at 5:13 pm

Bob Seger is living proof that you really can have too much of a good thing and you can go on having more of it guilt free by making sure that everybody else has less of it in the future. What a jerk.

japple on October 13, 2014 at 5:14 pm

The story was that he was sitting in a bar and a workingman came up to him and said that the US car industry was in shambles and jobs being lost, so would he allow his song to be used. This apparently melted Seger’s heart and he relented, but not melted enough that he pocketed the tens of millions that he made from the ad campaign for Chevy trucks.

DS_ROCKS! on October 13, 2014 at 5:26 pm

As a contemporary of Seger (age 71 last month), I am proud that until reading your article today, I NEVER HEARD OF THIS JERK.

MrBigBrain , For a big brain your argument seems highly emotional.Name calling Republican repubs then saying I can see why Al Gore is called a hypocrite .Can’t bare to call your fellow traveler that directly.Like that gives you street cred for even mentioning a 3rd person critique of him.

I’m not a big fan of the Republican party. Most of it’s leaders have shamelessly sold out there grandchildren and will there Mothers. There just a few beats behind the Democrats.Al Gore and Bush are hypocrites.First person ,baby!

Global warming has become a religion in that you can’t argue facts because it’s 99% pure emotion. A large part of the appeal is to be able to camouflage the real motives for population concern(financing the welfare state, too many people in your grill, open spaces disappearing,Culture changing).Instead of being honest one has to be dishonest and claim it’s not me and mine that i’m concern with nut mother earth.I love all the people changing the culture ,making my backyard smaller it’s mother earth that cries .I’m concerned about her.
Mother earth could care less about how many people are hear or how visually ugly the land becomes.Grow up and address the real problems instead of using a 3rd person again. It’s OK to be worried about you and yours .Just be honest
When I was a kid I was raised surrounded by orange groves. The air quality was do bad they had 3 warning levels on if it was safe to go outside for older and young people. The funny thing is when they pulled out the orange groves the Air quality improved to the point that they stop issuing warnings.A lot of people won’t admit that the air quality improved drastically.Instead I hear will it’s the kind of pollution you can’t see now which makes it more deadly ,But I can breathe now.
I did research and found something like 99% of Oxygen is made from underwater plants. It’s the water we should be most concern about
I think too many people through liberalism including republicans can’t be honest about are problems because they been indoctrinated that you can’t think about whats just good for you and your kids but only about whats good for others.I believe most people are even lying to themselves which explains the appeal of the global warming (in the 70’s it was the next Ice age).
You can’t so;ve the problem tell you acknowledge what it is first.

Big, Dumb Dinky, give it up! Anyone who thinks you’re more smart than you actually are and anyone who thinks you’ve come around deserves to have your shriveled brain transplanted in their empty noggin. It’s so obvious when you’re a band-wagon passenger. And no, you don’t know the facts about the scam of AGW but that has never stopped you before. You’re a selfish idiot. You seem only willing to have a go at those (or entities) that only bother YOU, personally. You’re totally easily lead and are attached to propaganda that fools other jive turkeys too. That’s why you’re not even mediocre! And your acceptance of fake AGW is the right hand to your silly and foolish left hand race sensitivity. Consistently clueless!!

I’m only a tic sad about this old hypocrite (like dopey BDD sorts, they are EVERYWHERE!) because I only had recently decided that his music is better than I thought it was back in the day. I liked BS (what great initials for that useless idiot!) but I never LOVED BS.

I like more of his music now than I did then. I really like “Fire Lake”, “Shakedown”, “Rambling, Gambling Man/Beautiful Loser”, “Fire Down Below” and “Roll Me Away”. I don’t mind the unmentioned popular ones by him but I’m not in love with ’em either.

I hate the song in “Risky Business”. Always have. Yuck. And same with “Turn The Page”. Just not my cuppa.

He should have just said “At my old age, I now know what the sayings “Old and in the way” and “There is no fool like an old fool” mean.

He’ll rake it in though. Americans love his music. Don’t get between a Yank in 2014 and their own favourite things (up against the common good). Yanks are too selfish for that now! And we have heaps of low-infos to complete the moron sandwich.

All that said, hypocrisy has really taken a HUGE leap these last few decades. The morons who should be embarrassed don’t even get embarrassed when they really ought to!

%%Skunky on October 13, 2014 at 7:54 pm

Oh, BTW, didn’t Old BS hold back on allowing his songs to be on iTunes? I seem to remember something bugged him. Prolly wanted more $$. No shame in that but that isn’t supposed to be the proper mindset of all good Liberals!

Seeger on global warming, McCartney with vegetarianism. Like the world is going to actually be influenced by these geriatrics? I never liked Seeger’s original music and considered him little more than a Mid-west version of John Fogerty. He should stick to endorsing Poligrip, laser eye surgery, Hair club for men, Beta Prostate formula or various hemorrhoidal ointments. Enough

(i) There is no global warming, hasn’t been since 1998, even the UN climate “experts” know that.;

(ii) There is massive ice growth in the Antarctic region, and there was even an article in the news about that two or three days ago.;

(iii) No one knows whether or not the previous warming was in fact “man made” or not, but the goal post was already moved as “global warming” is out and “climate change” is in.;

(iv) James Hansen (former NASA) has been found out fudging temperature data going back almost a century, in order to make global warming appear more profound than it actually has been.;

(v) Humans do pollute. We are really messed up creatures, and Jesus will fix that when he returns. But people who want to control and restrict your life while they live in the lap of luxury, . . .

in the immortal words of Hall & Oates, “Ah cain’ go fuh dat, no can do, . . .”

(vi) One of Jesus’ most oft used words was “hypocrite.” Hey Bob, guess who’s a real, big, fat hypocrite. Uhhhh, his initials are B.S.

To paraphrase the immortal words of Jennifer Dopez, . . .

“Don’t be fooled by the house that I got,
I’m still, I’m still, Bobby “like a rock.”

Uhhhhhhh, yeah, you are, now why don’t you do what Debbie said, and . . .

GO AWAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!! NOWWWWWWWWW!!!

Eye Roll @ the global warming nay-sayers. You can always tell when someone wants to remain a dunce. I learned in math class years ago this rule called the Transitive Property.

You know if A is hotter than B and His hotter than C then we can reduce that A is hotter than C. Quite rudimentary but I can see simple logic and how to apply it still evades some into their adult lives. Its saddening.

Transitive property. Trees eat Carbon D. Less trees, more Carbon D. I can give a rats behind about partisan b.s. Carbon D is poison and there’s a lot more floating and encompassing the earth. Common sense just isn’t common anymore.

I cannot tolerate partisan recalcitrant, contumacious bufoons. People who deny and hide the truth because their party didn’t think of it first. So sad and disheartening.

Its real people, is it as extreme as the talking heads run around d screaming “the sky is falling” idk, but simple mathematics and because I have I have the Biggest Brain in the room, Global Warming is real. This planet is slowly morphing into Mars.

The sun has set over the central Arctic Ocean and Arctic sea ice extent is now increasing. Sea ice extent in Antarctica appears to have passed its seasonal maximum. The peak Antarctic value recorded so far of over 20 million square kilometers (7.7 million square miles) sets a new record over the period of satellite observations.

The 2014 ice extent record is 560,000 square kilometers (216,000 square miles) above the previous record ice extent set on October 1, 2013. Each of the last three years (2012, 2013, and 2014) has set new record highs for extent in the Antarctic.

Big Dumb Dinky, keep digging your idiot grave. You don’t get it and when you *THINK* you do, you just prove how unintelligent you really are. If you had a brain you’d let what Santa said below (& Dr. Dale) sink in. But since you don’t, I know you didn’t absorb it.

The most ignorant are indeed the most arrogant.

BDD, you have not even proven your point WHY you *believe* there are fewer trees. Like there is (unfortunately) not a paucity of the dumb in 2014, there is also not fewer trees. And we know you’re a gas-huffer and all, but I reckon the carbon YOU are thinking of is Carbon MONOXIDE and NOT DIOXIDE. We’d all be poisoned to death (as well as tree and plants) if the retarded way of thinking you indulge in was true. That’s why you’re such an easy dupe for the White Libtards that count on you wasting your raisin-like brain believing their horsesh**. They need you to be as dumb as you are to keep their position of their lofty perch. And you’re happy to help them out.

If you had some brain power that could actually power a cheap kid’s toy in a McDonald’s Happy Meal, you would understand that you are prolly anti-pollution. Which all good people should be for. I know the scam of AGW but I am anti-litter and anti-pollution.

THAT is why I don’t respect you and know you’re a fraud. And when you do your big-words in your posts act (to try to inflate that dessicated raisin that flops around in your empty skull like a fish out of water) I know you’re trying so hard smoke is coming outta your ears. It’s also unintentional comedy for the rest of us!

??Skunky on October 14, 2014 at 11:18 am

I believe planet Earth is about 4,000,000,000 years old, give or take a hundred million years. The earth has gone through many phases. Dinosaurs became extinct. But we only have reasonably accurate weather statistics covering roughly the last one hundred years. When I was in HS many years ago, our science teacher was warning us about an impending ice age. Then global warming was all the rage. Today it is ‘climate change’.I don’t care how smart anyone thinks they are, we just don’t know with enough scientific certainty exactly what the hell is going on.

    #1 Vato on October 14, 2014 at 1:05 pm

Dale, I appreciate the facts that you put forth and not just blurb out, that its not happening and pointlessly attacking, like some do on here.

Regarding the ice caps, Antarctica and glaciers, etc, I haven’t delved into this or spent a lot of time imvestigating this, but in passing, there is always a video popping up or some doom and gloom article about the ice caps are melting, videos of glaciers breaking off, but you post an argument saying otherwise, which may be correct. My argument has to have merit too, regarding Carbon D, it makes sense, it seems perfectly logical.

MrBigBrain on October 14, 2014 at 1:24 am

Deb:

Climate change is all about money. It has nothing to do with the arguable fact that the planet is warming. It has everything to do with strangers taking your money promising to fix it.

Do you buy products without a warranty? Neither do I? So why should I buy some stranger’s “solution” to climate change when they offer no guarantee that it will work. I would rather keep my money and REACT to climate change if it affects me.

Big corporations like GE, Siemens, ABB, Toshiba, Kawasaki etc. are making out like bandits on this whole “global warming” craze. I know of a GE executive who was asked: “How do you regulate voltage on a wind farm when the wind doesn’t blow at a consistent rate?” His answer was: “We build a gas turbine generating station next to it.”

See? They getcha coming and going. First we waste money on the dream. Then we spend it again on the reality. We pay twice for the same kilowatt and the net return on climate change is nothing. The energy companies laugh all the way to the bank while the price of frozen peas in your grocery store skyrocket from the cost of pleasing the Bob Segers of the world.

Since the Hollywood types pushing this climate-change business are already multimillionaires, who do you think ends up getting hurt? Yup! You guessed it! The middle and lower income segments of our economy.

There’s no talking sense into any of these people. Either they’ve drank the kool aid or they have an economic interest in it.

Indeed! Bob Seger isn’t going to give up the money he made on Chevy adds to battle global warming. He’s a beneficiary of the scam. It’s not hypocrisy. It’s stealing.

Let me first address Vato. Vato, you will not get an argument out of me in regards to your statement “we don’t know wth is going on.” Do I agree with the repubs when they accuse Dems of exploiting this global warming phenom? Yes. My issue is the repubs refusing to admit to anything. I’m not naive where I don’t realize politricksters exploit what they can to their advantage. I.e Global Warming, Aids, Ebola, etc even though the last two are proven serious, there’s still a lot of manipulation involved with it all too.

Now I must shut down this loud empty can. You all do know the emptiest can rattles the most right? Just kick one down the street, it just clangs clangs and makes noise, nothing in it.

Fact 1- Rainforest once covered 14% of the earth, now down to 6%.
Fact 2- Rainforest continuously recycle Carbon D into Oxygen.20% of the earths oxygen comes from the Amazon rainforest alone. 5th grade science people, Trees eat Carbon D, only a confused blatherskite would say different. People I refuse to suffer fools.
Fact-3 “There’s not less trees” Um silly boo, approximately 150 acres are cut down every minute, about 78 million acres a year.

The use of hemp for paper products etc, would be a good solution but that’s another topic. I could keep bashing the nay-sayers in the head, but I made my point. Supported by facts. Less trees more Carbon D in the air, poison. Pure poison. I don’t need any Dem or Repub politician to chime in, my 5th grade science class is all I need for this topic.

Once again Mr.BigBrain knocks the buffoons out winth a right cross, its too easy. Use your Mind. Your mind isn’t dirty, don’t let anyone wash your brain.

MrBigBrain on October 14, 2014 at 10:06 pm

    Big D, you’re trolling again.

Your latest is ALL ABOUT THE TREES. But what you really discuss is about the RAINFOREST. Might other trees and plant life pick up the slack given they now have more nutrients available? Let’s see. A species becomes extinct. Does everything go haywire or do other species–who may have displaced the extinct one–replace it? Duh, yes. In fact, you can’t seem to imagine that anything on earth could do that. Are you seriously unaware that CO2 is mainly absorbed … in the ocean? Have you ever had a planted aquarium and noticed how the plants grow faster when more CO2 is pumped in? Your first major error is assuming a closed system.

In addition, whether CO2 has an unambigous relation to warming is also in question.

Add to that some of my posts take days to put up because of Debbie’s schedule and/or my failure to inform her. There’s plenty of substance that you may have missed, . . .

and plenty that is current. Your ramblings on global warming, trees, denigration and insults to people who disagree with you, are just as ridiculous to me as my Blond(e) Ignition is to you. But you get personal and insulting. I’ve never done that except to trolls, and I’m even careful in what I say in that regard, usually choosing not to get personal at all.

BRING BACK BIGD!!! What happened to you? And don’t say you’re not BigD, because you outed yourself again on a thread that has not yet dropped to the archives. Not that I ever doubted it, because it was obvious from your first post, BEFORE skzion noted it.

I’ve been on internet chat forums for 14 1/2 years. I know how to conduct myself without being insulting, denigrating and off putting. Don’t lecture me, until you’re ready to own up to what happened to you. I still think you’re a good guy, but your change of handle brought about a tyrannical streak you had not previously displayed.

We used to have fun. As for your thinly veiled accusations of racism on my part, you have evidently also changed your tack toward me in that regard, and COMPLETELY IGNORED my body of work here.

Alfredo from Puerto Rico on October 15, 2014 at 2:25 pm

Alfredo, your error was to befriend BigD in the first place. The guy is not a good egg.

skzion on October 17, 2014 at 12:31 am

Not really an error, as there was a purpose to my befriending him, besides me just being a good guy who wants peace, and knows that it’s really not all that hard for diverse peoples to be at peace.

But when it gets too complicated, I’m outta there. Despite my high IQ, I am a VERY simple person. Despite being born and raised and living in NYC almost all my life, despite being stuck here for the past 133 days, I have country boy sensibilities. I’ve known that all my life.

When things or people get too complicated, I know when it’s time to move on. But I’ll try to make a gentle point, for the sake of good will and peace.

Alfredo from Puerto Rico on October 17, 2014 at 9:27 am

1st. There is no more of this Big D fella you people keep mentioning. Gone. Get use to it.

Now I’ve discussed my point ad nauseum, I will iterate it one more time and I’m done. I said, I agree with Vato, we don’t know exactly with is going on, I agree the Dems are exploiting this, but any person on this earth who thinks planet earth is healthier or better with less trees on it, is a Meatball. Yes a Meatball who shouldn’t be allowed on a computer. Your thinking is ridiculous and that is why this planet will morph into Mars. It may take 1000 yrs, but it will/is happening. This is my own conclusion, it has nothing to do with politics or any politician. My own belief. I’m sure most of you enjoy being Meatballs. Done!

MrBigBrain on October 15, 2014 at 5:25 pm

“You’re not a man because you HAVE a library card; you’re a man because you USE your library card.”

BigD/MBB is a moron. I could barely contain my amusement when he confused a syllogism with “the Transitive Property.” Good grief! But others will note that he hasn’t responded seriously to any of the substantive comments that oppose his ramblings. He just keeps harping on “the trees.” Is he bucking for the lead in a new Lorax movie?

Incidentally, the rain forests do seem to be shrinking, even if the reported rates, given where they tend to come from, are untrustworthy. That’s too bad, regardless of CO2.

The pertinent question is whether government agencies such as Homeland Security should be focusing on AGW, especially when the planet is not even warming any more! Again, good grief!

Finally, I have a suggestion for the warmests: invade China and return it to its natural, primitive state. That will decrease world pollution substantially–including CarbonD. Lol.

    +1skzion on October 15, 2014 at 6:38 pm

Ohhhhhhhh, no, you’ve really gone and done it this time. You just said to a black man something about hanging on trees, which could be taken two ways. One is the obvious, about a terrible part of America’s history, and the other has to do with primates.

      OHHHHHHHHHHHH, NOOOOOOOOO!!!

I may be outta here for a while.

      ROTFLMAO!!!

Wake me up when the dust settles.

      LOL!!!

Alfredo from Puerto Rico on October 19, 2014 at 4:02 pm

(Regarding the post above: better late than never!)

skzion on October 19, 2014 at 6:17 pm

Oops, you said harping, not hanging. Oh well, I was in a hurry to get to work. ROTFLMAO!!!

Hey, how do you get Alfredo to shut up?

Uh, throw him a jar of gefilte fish and a couple prune danish and he’ll be just fine.

Hey, how do you get Alfredo to stop being a racist, trolling asshole?

Just throw him a bottle of Ron del Barrilito 3 Star with a pastrami sandwich and a couple prune filled Hamantashen, he’ll be just fine.

Just for that “equal time” provision, y’know?

Alfredo from Puerto Rico on October 15, 2014 at 9:21 pm

Big, Dumb Dinky, you are an annoying and very dumb liar. Everyone knows it’ you.

You and Mr. Raisin Brain both use “quack” and under both dopey handles you talked to me about lame-ass Pantera. Give it up.

Dopiness shines thru’. And when you have to advertise that your brain is so ginoromous, it means you’re lacking.

Skzion has it correct. You’re trolling. The only thing you like about trees is that you wiz on them like a dog. Get lost!

$$Skunky on October 16, 2014 at 11:40 am

Skunky, unfortunatel, my latert response to BigD awaits Debbie’s undeletion.

This guy is such a moronic troll.

skzion on October 17, 2014 at 12:29 am

Skunky, as usual your wisdom is inescapable, and your colorful delivery style always enhances the message. But to borrow an idea from your post, he’s not going anywhere, because he likes it too much when YOU piss on HIM.

ROTFLMAO!!!

Alfredo from Puerto Rico on October 16, 2014 at 12:23 pm

Did I address you Skunky? No duh @ the Pantera comment. Some things don’t need mentioning ya know?

MrBigBrain on October 16, 2014 at 4:31 pm

Let’s see, I’m a troll because I state my opinion about climate change, whether its correct or not, that makes me a troll? Oh I get it, its because it differs from yours, got it.

I’m a moron, moron because my comments don’t post under one moniker, yet they do under another, yet you both have the same issues, in fact I told the both of you on two diff occasions how to address it, but I’m the moron. I’m beginning to understand how this all works now.

Lastly I didn’t address either of you two, yet you both chime in with irrelevant drivel. The both of you act like you solved the riddle on how to cure cancer; hey its “BigD, no wait, um yes it” like Sk-Zion is some high ranking sleuth. Lol. No one that I’ve seen on here goes by that moniker any longer, Get it?! Can we now move on, Barnaby Jones and Angela Landsbury? FuQ!

MrBigBrain on October 17, 2014 at 3:08 am

Dear MBB/BigD: you are a troll because you do not respond seriously to counter-arguments but apparently make points that you will not defend just to stir things up. What is this but trolling?

skzion on October 17, 2014 at 9:48 am

BTW, we do not have to be silent simply because you have not addressed us first.

skzion on October 17, 2014 at 9:50 am

I guess we’re going to need a scorecard. There’s no one named Buffalo Butt on this web site either, but I’m going to have to ask J.J. to call Bookman to fix the confusion in my mind.

Must be all those Chicken Pasteles and Empanadas I ate. The biggest mistake I probably made was washing it all down with Manischewitz Concord Grape wine.

Now back to your regularly scheduled program, The Global Warming Hoax and How To Enslave People In The 21st Century.

Alfredo from Puerto Rico on October 17, 2014 at 9:19 am

Big, Dumb Dinky, Skzion has it correct. You’re not the King of this site and you’re by faaaaaaar not the brainiest here. You’re not even the most dumb, but you’re closer to that than the more intelligent peeps. You like to troll for attention. I’m just pointing it out because I don’t want the stray dopes falling for your retardo nonsense.

And I have solved more enigmatic mysteries than the pre-Encyclopedia Brown non-mystery of your dopey schtick and numerous handles.

No one is impressed by you. That is why, like a proud sniffer of one’s own flatulence, you gotta point to the puny brain everyone else never, ever notices. Buffoon!

^^Skunky on October 17, 2014 at 11:47 am

Sk-Zion, fella no one is trolling. I may not live my life like Brendan Frazier’s character in “Breakout” but I assure you I believe what I typed regarding trees etc. You really take issues with people who have a difference in opinion and that baffles me because you seem to be a sharp person and sharp people are usually more mature, but I could be wrong.

Skunky where do I start? Nah I’m not going to, have a good weekend sista!

MrBigBrain on October 17, 2014 at 4:35 pm

I don’t know about Breakout, BigD, but I do know that your behavior here is consistent with the definition I gave in a previous post. You STILL haven’t seriously addressed challenges to your claims. Indeed, even your repeated assertions of having the biggest brain in the room can be seen as trolling.

Now if you were a kind fellow, I’d basically ignore you, but you have been really nasty lately and therefore I see no reason to cut you slack.

skzion on October 18, 2014 at 10:15 pm

      Definition I gave of “trolling.”

skzion on October 18, 2014 at 10:15 pm

Right on Debbie. What a sell out hypocrite he turned out to be.

Bill on November 4, 2014 at 5:31 pm

fantastic record mr. seger can’t wait til you come to dallas

hussain on December 6, 2014 at 10:07 am

Just because you don’t like somebody’s music anymore does NOT mean you have to go posting ridiculous things like these. If I don’t like an artist, I leave them ALONE! If you really hate him so much, stop writing about it and MOVE ON! No need to waste your time hating! Did you ever hear of “if you don’t got something nice to say, don’t say it at all”? I’m a 15 year old girl and I know that. Hell, I knew that when I was in kindergarten. Where is your respect? If you want to be a decent reporter or author, how about you present BOTH SIDES OF THE STORY!? Instead of posting things like, “Bob Seger is a hypocrite” you should post the good things he has done, too! A couple of months ago, the Detroit Fire Department’s saws were stolen. They were $2,000 each. Bob Seger was in the car and heard it on the radio, and called in. Bob used his own money and bought the saws for them. That shows he cares! In fact, you didn’t even mention “Detroit Made”, a song off his new album which is all about the great city of Detroit. He filmed the music video there, which will help more people realize they need to do something to help Detroit. You’re not even Bob Seger. You’re not his friend. Your not a family member. Heck, you aren’t even a fan anymore. So what do you know about Bob Seger? I know lots of people who have met Bob Seger in person and they say he is such a sweet guy. Always caring for his fans. There was this poor 79 year old went into a 5 year coma and when she woke up, she asked to go to a Bob Seger concert! Bob decided to meet the lady and he gave her a great big hug! Now that’s loyalty an devotion to his fans! Sure, Bob owns a mansion, but you don’t know why he makes the decisions he does. No, don’t tell me he sucks. Don’t give me a 3rd grade answer. (I may not no everything about him either but I certainly know more than you!)
By the way, why would you dare to post his address publicly online? If you were famous, would you like people to post your address all over the place? Do you like stalkers? How does it feel when somebody criticizes you? How does it feel to have people tell you you’re a hypocrite? How does it feel to be put down by a person who has NO CLUE who you even are? Think about it.
Stop the hate. This is the last thing we need in this word. You’re not really making a difference either, sitting here and typing hateful comments on your computer!!!

Brianna on January 21, 2015 at 5:34 pm

Thank you, Brianna! This person’s ignorance is clearly clouding the topic at hand. You worded it very nicely. I am a Bob Seger fan, myself, but I don’t understand what his musical quality has to do with anything about this inaccurate argument. To the OP, you do realize this man is going to be 70 in May, right? I’d like to see how you sound at that age. He is far from being an out-of-date crooner! He has more talent than all of us combined, least of all the you. If you’re going to form an actual argument, let’s find some real facts first, not these biased OPINIONS, okay? Then maybe I’ll consider giving your argument the time of day.

Ashley on March 4, 2015 at 3:23 pm

Brianna! I was just gonna chime in and offer up some chastising when I scrolled down and read your beautiful post. I think I love you girl! Roll Me Away!

All The Best!

Dude Abides on January 31, 2015 at 9:06 pm

Three things I came away with after reading this.
1. Bob Seger is 69, not 70.
2. The picture is of his current house.
3. Who are you?

David on March 30, 2015 at 3:04 am

David I am so glad you spotted the glaring errors in the article by someone called Schlussel. Its a crime when someone bursts into print without checking their facts.I won’t even start commenting on the shocking grammatical errors which would suggest the author has a rather limited education.Somehow I doubt Brian McCollum is Schlussel’s friend as she claims. Finally I find it fascinating how these arm chair critics provide commentary on a mucisians work without any form of qualification.Schlussel’s fan club must be bursting at the seems!

Gary on April 8, 2015 at 7:12 am

Wow what a bunch of ignorant morons. Dems believe in science and repubs believe in god.
Bob Seger is a national treasure. Show some respect
