Edible Arrangements Muslim CEO Refuses to Condemn HAMAS, ISIS – EXCLUSIVE

By Debbie Schlussel

Tariq Farid, the Muslim CEO and founder of Edible Arrangements refuses to condemn HAMAS, Hezbollah, and ISIS. In an exclusive e-mail exchange with Farid and his personal media liaison, DebbieSchlussel.com asked Mr. Farid to specifically condemn HAMAS, Hezbollah, and ISIS, and he refused to do so. The e-mail exchange is posted below.

Edible Arrangements’ Kamran & Tariq Farid REFUSE to Condemn HAMAS, Hezbollah, or ISIS

Two years ago, DebbieSchlussel.com broke the story on Tariq Farid, CEO of the fruit basket company, his brother, Kamran, also a high-ranking official of the company, and their proud and open support for HAMAS and Islamic extremism, through their donations and their foundation. This summer, the deceptively-named, far-left Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has been working overtime along with mainstream Jewish media to whitewash the Farids and Edible Arrangements, claiming my article is false, even though they have not refuted a single one of the many well-documented facts I published. My article about Edible Arrangements and the Farids is absolutely true, they’ve never demanded I retract a thing, and even though they are normally litigious (they are even suing some of their neighbors), they won’t dare sue me. I’ve been told that the Farids have made a large donation to ADL in exchange for the whitewash, and while the deceptive Farids claim they did not donate, the ADL has refused to answer my questions about Farid and/or Edible Arrangements’ donations to the ADL.

But I note that in ADL’s “denial” of my article, ADL writes, “Moreover, the company [Edible Arrangments] has clearly and unequivocally denounced terrorism, including those forms of terror used by Hamas.” Note they would NOT condemn HAMAS. That’s an obvious exercise in semantic subterfuge, because it clearly shows that neither the Farids nor their company will in fact denounce HAMAS, just “terrorism” (and in their minds HAMAS is not a terrorist group, the Israeli government is). That’s a not-so-clever and very transparent trick used by the usual suspect HAMAS front groups, including unindicted HAMAS co-conspirator CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations), because they actually support HAMAS, Hezbollah, and ISIS, and don’t want to admit to it, nor do they want to be on record as specifically condemning the terrorist groups. And, now, the Farids do the same. I specifically asked the Farids and Edible Arrangments to condemn HAMAS, Hezbollah (which murdered hundreds of Americans), and ISIS. They refused.

Hello:
I’m Debbie Schlussel, a freelance journalist, whose work has appeared in the Wall St. Journal, Jerusalem Post, New York Post, and so on. I’m on deadline for an article I’m writing about Edible Arrangements, the ADL, and Islamic extremism. My questions are as follows:
1) How much money did Edible Arrangements, its foundation, the Farid Brothers and/or any related parties donate to the ADL?

2) Will the Farid Brothers specifically condemn HAMAS, Hezbollah, and ISIS?

Thank you,
Debbie Schlussel

Their response from Anna Mariotti, personal media spokeswoman for Tariq Farid:

Hi Ms. Schlussel:

Thanks for your inquiry. Please see below for answers to your questions:

Question 1 Answer:: Neither Edible Arrangements, the private charitable foundations of the owners, the Farid brothers or any related parties have donated to the Anti-Defamation League.

Question 2 Answer: The Farid brothers condemn ALL terrorism. [DS: Again, that was NOT the question. The question, which they would NOT answer, was: “Will the Farid Brothers specifically condemn HAMAS, Hezbollah, and ISIS?” Clearly, they will NOT.]

Best,

Anna

Hi again,
I just wanted to ensure that you received the response to your inquiry. Would you mind confirming receipt?
Thanks again,

I confirmed my receipt. Again, note that this is at least the second time that the Farid brothers (Sunni Muslims from Pakistan) and Edible Arrangements refuse to condemn HAMAS (ADL’s semantics game shows they would not denounce HAMAS to ADL either), and now they won’t condemn Hezbollah or ISIS, either.

I’ll be posting more about ADL, the Farid Brothers, Edible Arrangements, and how the brothers and the company continue to support HAMAS (via Islamic Relief) and other jihadist groups. And about the ADL and the Jewish media’s lies on this in order to whitewash the company and the brothers.

But in the meantime, you now know that Tariq Farid, the CEO of Edible Arrangements, and his company openly refuse to condemn HAMAS, Hezbollah, and ISIS. Do you want to support that by buying an Edible Arrangements fruit basket?

Stay tuned for more.

Who knows what’s inside those “edible” arrangements. Infidels, caveat emptor.

I have personally spen time with and know the younger brother. I know h has an amazing personally and character. As a Jew this is what I don’t agree with… You pigeon holing someone to donate to ADL or to say your exact words. If the organization said it doesn’t condone terrorism that is good enough.
To make a statement of their support of Humas without facts is simply wrong! If I worked hard and built up a thieving business from almost nothing to what the two brothers have, I think I’d be careful what I did within the political confines of m business.
As a very pro Israel and Jew myself, I wish we would ban together in a kind and harmonious manner to let people see the moral fiber that holds us as a people together! Not to push successful people to follow our view with pushy tactics and false rumors!

Thanks for reporting on this again Debbie. I for one never used (un)Edible Arrangements for any kind of gift. I just think that they were tacky looking and not worth the hassle. This was long before your first report on the Farid brothers and their abject refusal to condemn HAMAS, Hezbollah and those scumbags in ISIS. Just recently a girl at my work had a fruit basket from them delivered for her birthday. I was happy for her but didn’t partake in eating. The arrangements still just look tacky to me(give me a regular apple anyday). Knowing what I know now about the Farid brothers, their company, the ADL and CAIR Edible Arrangements will never see a dime of my hard earned money. I will never support a company that doesn’t seem to have a problem with savage barbarians killing Christians and Jews. May their fruit freaking rot in their stores.

Semantics. Good to know though. Never knew it was muslim owned.

“This summer, the deceptively-named, far-left Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has been working overtime along with mainstream Jewish media to whitewash”

Was your site hacked?

J: No, but your mind might have been hacked if you think that the ADL and the mainstream Jewish media support anything good for the Jewish people (or America, for that matter). Or that their whitewashing of Jew-haters is a good thing. I suppose you think ADL’s hosting of a Hezbollah supporter for its “Diversity Week” is good, too? WAKE. UP. DS

josh on August 14, 2014 at 12:29 pm

Always the deceptive “hi” at the beginning of emails.

RE the ADL, I notice that they, the ultimate arbiters, do not consider the shooting and killing of Rabbi Joseph Raskin in Florida to be religiously motivated. This in spite of the recent Nazi symbols in the neighborhood, the nearness of Rabbi Raskin to his place of worship, and the fact that he was Orthodox, and presumably dressed in recognizable religious clothing.

Little Al on August 14, 2014 at 1:03 pm

No, the implication is that mainstream Jewish media was hacked a long time ago josh. Only finding out now?

qzarro on August 14, 2014 at 1:10 pm

I also notice that EA’s seeming denial does not address the question of donations to related parties of the ADL; only related parties of EA are designated.

Little Al on August 14, 2014 at 1:10 pm

Sticking with semantics it’s not just that they disagree about which organisations are terrorist entities.

It’s that their definition of terrorism is anything which creates mischief for real Muslims(i.e them) period.

That’s why they’ll never specifically identify Hamas or ISIS as terrorist organisations.

Never mind the condemnation.
Here you’re implicitly asking them to share your moral frame of reference.
This they don’t and they won’t.

Pleading for this allows them to shift to their reference point and pretend that they’re simply refusing to single out these organisations in particular.

What they can’t do is confirm that Hamas, ISIS are terrorist organisations.
That’s what they won’t do.

Condemnation is irrelevant.

Recalcitrant Zionist on August 14, 2014 at 2:11 pm

I would have asked Mariotti if the Farid brothers consider HAMAS, Hezbollah, and ISIS to be terrorist organizations. Rephrasing the question this way would, perhaps, have given less wiggle room for equivocation.

commonsense on August 14, 2014 at 4:04 pm

Since they originate in Pakistan, I’d request them to State their position on treatment Pakistani men “bestow” on their women, on daily basis. Rape, honor killing, marriage of elderly men with teenaged girls…..

Simon on August 14, 2014 at 4:37 pm

Commonsense raises a good point above, leaving less wiggle room. But I doubt the response would be any different. The Islamofruit company was only going to answer the question that they wanted to answer, not what they were asked–much as politicians typically do.

As for the “mainstream” organizations that purport to fight anti-Semitism and/or protect Israel, there are obviously differences between them, and the ADL is among the farthest left of them. And some of them are really just self-perpetuating fundraising machines. I would also include the ADL in that group. They pander largely to the affluent leftist Jewish groups, and that includes much of the Hollywood crowd. That’s the kind of money they seek, and so they only step in for safe–and ultimately meaningless–causes.

For example, there was a Nike ad promoting soccer that featured the “good guys” wearing t-shirts promoting Qatar, while the “bad guys” had a dark flag with an image replicating the Star of David. There were numerous other anti-Israel symbols inserted.

Admittedly, except for people with above-average perceptive skills that can readily see such techniques and propaganda tools when they are used, the anti-Jewish and anti-Israel theme inherent in the Nike commercial would be subliminal in nature. And Nike’s response to the charges of anti-Semitism was to deny that the image depicted was the Star of David, and that it was simply a soccer ball. However, Nike’s animators deliberately chose an image that looked as close as possible to a Star of David and chose not to use the dozens and dozens of other images that are commonly used to depict soccer balls. So Nike was basically saying that it was a “wild coincidence,” like the “Go Qatar” t-shirt was another “wild coincidence.”

You can Google the ad by searching under “Nike” and “anti-Semitic” and “advertisement” to judge for yourself. But the bottom line is that anyone was reasonably good skills of perception would agree that the add was anti-Israel and anti-Semitic.

Many mainstream Jewish organizations agreed, like the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA). But the ADL? They agreed with Nike and backed Nike. It wouldn’t surprise me if the ADL later sought get some funding from Nike afterward.

Thanks Debby. Us kuffar need to be alerted of these ownership situations so that our consumer spending does not fund terrorism.

In particular, Moslem terrorism did not start on 9 / 11. It was around way before and as now, principally executed against
Israel and any perceived Israel supporter, i.e. any non – Moslem.

Throughout this vast history of Moslem terrorism is the fact that worldwide : No prominent Moslem cleric, politician, or any institution ever denounce or in any way speak out against the atrocities perpetrated in the name of Islam. That’s right, NOT ONE.

I interpret this as tacit assent, agreement, and collusion with the extremist mind set. There is only one form of Islamic thought. There is only one type of Moslem. If you are not one of them, they are your sworn enemy. They have sworn to kill you. To aid them in any way is to hasten your own destruction.

JayPee on August 14, 2014 at 5:46 pm

Of course they support the killing of Christians and Yasis’s as long as the money stream from the sheeple continues to flow. These people should have been exposed by the Homeland security as a funding source of hamas shouldn’t they ? Perhaps a concerted boycott and expose of the money trail to ISIS would force them to come clean. If you choose to live in a country (USA) shouldn’t it be your home and thus the basis for your beliefs ? certainly not some greedy murderous scum hiding behind a death cult.

Miss Debbie, thanks for that info’. I had no idea, who was heading up those fruits.

Standard tactic of any mafia is to infiltrate seeming legitimate businesses for cover. Convert business receipts into funding further criminality and yes, I’m referring to Saudi Arabia, the Democrat Party and Edible Arrangements and more than one Pizza joint and cab service in Detroitastan ..

Filthy edible arrangement muslims.

I have never bought anything from Edible Arrangements, and now that I know this, I have no plans to either

Infidel on August 14, 2014 at 9:54 pm

Also, for Muzzies, ‘We condemn ALL terrorism’ is a code term for ‘We condemn Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Shamanists and everyone else even more than we condemn our own terrorists’

Infidel on August 14, 2014 at 9:56 pm

There is one of these businesses near my home. It is in a prime location, within an area where commercial real estate is prohibitively expensive. Many adjacent businesses have come & gone over the years. I got the impression that the guy who runs the Edible Arrangement store probably owns the whole block. He is a young greasy pig who wears too much gold and drives an AMG V-12 Mercedes. My wife is in real estate and just today told me: “It would take a lot of cantaloupe to keep the doors open here”. She was there to purchase an arrangement until I told her she would be walking home with it, if she did. I came on so strong, she didn’t push the point and brought flowers to the party instead.

In 2008 I attended a class at the staff Training Center of the Bureau of Prisons in Aurora, CO. The title was “Terrorist and Extremist Religious Groups and how to detect them”. I, and the other Supervisory Chaplains in the group, were eager to pick up information to help us with the tidal wave of Muslim extremists that we confronted every day. What followed was an excellent presentation by the ADL that lasted two full days…all about white extremist hate groups. Muslims were never mentioned. Sure, I had about a dozen Arian Brotherhood guys, but they seldom gave me any trouble and were usually pretty open and respectful. I had a couple of HUNDRED Muslims, from confirmed Taliban, to Algerian murderers, to rings of Jihadis busted and convicted from around the Western USA of terrorism- AND WE NEVER HAD A CLASS ON THEM. I had conversations with Johhny Walker Lindh other Muslim terrorists, sketchy directions given to us at best. Yet we had a marvellous class on white racism…go figure.

    EDS, that was telling.

skzion on August 15, 2014 at 10:34 am

I had the same type of experience. I work for HHS and shortly after the Fort Hood shootings we had a presentation at a staff meeting about workplace violence. The presenter emphasized that any and all groups in society were capable of workplace violence. If anyone knew better, they also knew it was wise to keep quiet.

As it happened, the presenter was Black, perhaps on purpose, to discourage anyone from contradicting him

I happen to live in Plymouth and in Googling Edible Arrangements I see they have a store in Plymouth. I never knew about it before but you can be sure I will never go in it and will let my friends know about Debbie’s article.

Let me guess – Tariq Farid won’t include a BLT sandwich or a bacon cheeseburger on his menu cuz it ain’t halal.

Hey, its halal to support Islamic terrorists! I’m not a fan of Edible Arrangements.

NormanF on August 16, 2014 at 4:10 am

Tariq Farid has the right not to condemn the most violent and and evil people on earth.

By the same token, as an American consumer, I invoke my right never to do business with his company.

My rights – especially my right to life – takes precedence over his not wanting to disassociate himself from Islamic terrorists. QED.
