Cool Stuff I Made: Patriotic Edition
In my almost non-existent “free time,” I like to make stuff, especially cool, unique jewelry. It helps me de-stress. I’ve posted pics of some other stuff I’ve made. And since Independence Day is this week, I thought you’d enjoy this cool resin cuff bracelet I made, pictured below. Since the finish is like lucite, the glare got in the way of the photos (I tried with and without flash and in different lighting), but you get the idea.
To make this, I used a silicone cuff mold made for very small wrists (my wrists are tiny), poured in resin (I used EnviroTex Jewelry Resin), and inserted this cool, patriotic graphic.
Check out the rest of the photos and more details about the historic, patriotic graphic, below . . .
The graphic is from my collection of Jewish American military memorabilia. It appeared on a stamp put during World War II out by a now-defunct American Jewish group. It says, “Protect Your America. Fight Communism, Fascism-Nazism.” I color-copied and enlarged the image on the stamp and put it into the resin mold, allowing it to cure. Then, I sanded down the exposed edge and sprayed it with resin spray to finish it. I’ll try to post some of my other creations in the future. I’m inspired by American patriotism and cool events in contemporary American history (see my Neil Armstrong moon landing bracelets).
Nice work
