Shinseki Thrown Under the Bus for Obama VA Epic Fail; Hmm . . . White Chick Sebelius Wasn’t Forced to Resign

By Debbie Schlussel

So, let me get this straight: Barack Obama runs–back in 2008–on fixing the failed Veterans Administration healthcare system, does nothing about it for six years, and a career U.S. General who served with dignity and honor must resign in disgrace. Yup, yet another body thrown onto the human mound under Barack Obama’s bus. I feel sorry for General Shinseki (kinda sorry). I believe he was a true patriot (well, probably not, as he apparently was a stooge for John Kerry and denounced the surge in Iraq) and had the power to change nothing at the VA. That power rests with one man: Barack Obama.

obamashinsekiobamabus

And, also, while the White chick who oversaw the failed “roll-out” of ObamaCare was NOT forced to resign in disgrace, the Asian male who was shoved atop a failed system Barack Obama never had any intention of fixing . . . well, his head rolled. If I were Asian, I’d be pissed at this so-called “liberal” Prez who obviously lets incompetent White chicks remain in power but dumps da Asians. You know if a Republican did this, there would be hell to pay and the Prez would get Donald Sterlinged.

So, Obama spends nearly six years ignoring the broken VA system, and six years destroying the far superior private healthcare system via ObamaCare. Give that man a booby prize! But the Commander in Chief doesn’t resign. Always some underling, in this case, Shinseki, must take the fall. It doesn’t change the fact that all the men who died over the last 5.5 years waiting for doctors’ visits or surgeries or other treatments–their blood is on Obama’s hands.

Yes, it’s true that the VA has been horrible for decades. I remember my late father, a medical doctor and Army veteran who had at certain points during his early career worked at VA hospitals, decrying the horrible treatment of these men who risked their lives for America. I remember him talking about my great-uncle Maurice J. Schlussel, a career Army doctor, who worked for the VA. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Uncle Maurice became the Army’s chief medical officer for the South Pacific and then headed several VA hospitals. He was frequently sent around by the VA to fire people or clean up stuff (they called him “The Cleaner”), but only to a point. He wasn’t really allowed to shake things up or fix anything. That’s the bureaucratic VA culture, and it wasn’t too long ago that whistleblowers didn’t have the protections or outlets they now have against the VA and other government agencies. If you spoke up, VA officials took revenge on you and your career.

But old problems don’t excuse Obama’s inaction about it for nearly six years, especially since he ran on fixing it, and then instead destroyed the medical care in America–private sector medicine and health insurance–that actually did work (relative to the VA). It’s disgusting that anyone would let Obama get away with pleading ignorance here, as he has, saying he “only learned about” the problems in the VA in the recent press, “like all of you.” Um, he clearly knew these things back in 2008 . . . when he ran on it. You can’t say in 2008, “It’s horrible, I’ll fix it,” and, then in 2014, say, “Oh I didn’t know about it until now.” Unless you’re Barack Obama.

While “heads will roll,” and we saw the latest Obama underling’s head roll today, it won’t fix a thing. It’s a giant government bureaucracy that needs to be overhauled in its entirety. And if Obama had made that his mission for the last six years, instead of ObamaCare, it might have been fixed, or at least improved. Lives would have been saved that should never have been lost waiting for an appointment or to be on a phantom waiting list to get on another waiting list. And he would have been a hero. But Obama just doesn’t respect the military or any of the men who risked their lives for our freedoms (he doesn’t respect our freedoms). And he preferred to spend his time on enacting socialist medical care for everyone else. As I’ve been saying for years on this site, if you like VA care, you’ll love ObamaCare.

And, so, Barack Obama, the bus driver, has another body under his vehicle. And he and Congress will do nothing to help veterans get any better shakes at life than they have today. After all, this has been going on for decades.

And, yet, they enacted socialized, VA-style medicine–and death warrants–for everyone else who is not a vet.

General Shinseki’s career, RIP. All the vets who died waiting, RIP. All those who continue to perpetuate this system, well you won’t be resting when your time comes. And you’ll be going to a different place where it’s kinda warm.

***

Exit Questions: who the heck would wanna take this thankless job of heading the VA and being sent to the same unfixable hell without any power to change it? Anyone else wanna see their life’s career and reputation beheaded in public by Barack Obama?

Ah come on, who’s playing the race card now, lol. I do however like your bus caricature, pretty funny, but I can’t agree with the article and the references to race, can’t do it.

Big D on May 30, 2014 at 3:10 pm

Barack Obama has been quite racial during his Administration. Shinseki was a former member of the military who did not care for it particularly and was an Asian. That fit a couple of quota boxes with one appointee. Shinseki was the classic double-dipper. If he had had a modicum of self-respect, he would have left the Obama Administration years ago.

Worry on May 30, 2014 at 4:28 pm

Why, BigD? You don’t believe in calling people out for their obvious hypocrisy? You don’t believe in calling out people who CLAIM to be more “fair” (whatever that is), more enlightened and more honest, when it’s obviously not true?

Here’s another example. And please don’t get me wrong. Although I voted for Dubya in 2000, I refused to vote in 2004, although I’m glad he won and not John Effing Kerry. Bush appointed more blacks to top cabinet positions than the Muslim-In-Chief, yet all the mainstream media knows to tell us is that “George Bush hates black people.” Why, because Kanye West said so. WELL, I guess if Mr. Kim Kardashian said so, it MUST be true.

And of course, we know that Condoleezza Rice is an Aunt Jemima, whatever that is. Why? Because the left SAYS so, and the lamestream media is only too happy to back that up, no matter how stupid it is. And we KNOW Clarence Thomas is an Uncle Tom, whatever that is (yes, I know what it’s SUPPOSED to be), because the only black voices that are allowed to be heard, are the ones the lamestream media puts forth to tell us that.

You don’t believe in calling out hypocrisy?

    I KNOW you DO.

Who would go to work for this regime? I don’t feel bad for him. But yes, Debbie is correct, Obama should resign. Well if he wasn’t a power drunk narcissistic sociopath.

john on May 30, 2014 at 5:08 pm

Don’t forget Debbie, Baghdad Bob resigned today as well. I look forward to your insights on him.

So poor Shinseki has to commit Hari-kiri for the Obama-nickolodeon audience.
Well things could be worse – he could have been stuck in Libya organizing some gun running fast and furious style and had to do it for real. Then he’d be dead. So Shinseki can go home with a smile on his face.

All in all this a wonderful little diversion for Obama. Media lap dogs given a perfect excuse to run along chasing rabbits.
Same old same old.

“But old problems don’t excuse Obama’s inaction about it for nearly six years, especially since he ran on fixing it” –
No of course it doesn’t but it doesn’t really matter because this is just another in a long line of hey it was broke when I got here issues that need bi-partisan action.
Which is why apparatchiks like Jon Stewart have conveniently helped divert attention along this line quite nicely.

Obama must wake up laughing every morning.
Kerry’s for all intents and purposes called Israel an apartheid state but that’s just more of the same too.

Pathetic.

As a physician who trained at the VA and overall enjoyed my Vets very much, I must disagree with you.

Shinseki kept his mouth shut and did not protest. He failed to have his glorious day in the Sun and resign. (See the example, although in a wrong cause, of David Shoup and Vietnam.) He deserved to be impaled and smeared with honey for the ants. The VA is a disgrace, and has been.

Occam's Tool on May 30, 2014 at 6:09 pm

The only question I have is if we cannot effectively manage a [relatively] small operation like the VA, how on Earth are we going to implement adequate care for all of America in ObamaCare? From my perspective, there are too many layers of administrative horseshit between physician & patient.

#1 VATO on May 30, 2014 at 6:19 pm

Didn’t the Dems tout how great the VA was when they were ramming Obamacare down our throats?

john on May 30, 2014 at 6:30 pm

Hi Debbie!
I will be stoned I’m sure for asking this but here goes.. Debbie, what is your opinion of the Purple Heart medal? I have a friend who is an officer in the Navy and he has two ?of these awards but he refuses to wear them. First, I did not know you could refuse to wear a medal. Two, He won’t wear it because it means he was wounded by an enemy. So, this leads to my question, the Purple Heart seems to exceed any valor medal in recognition. Does the U.S. over extend awards to those wounded by the enemy (which is what the enemy wants) vs. awards for actual combat? (sigh, I know this was poorly written and expressed). Kare.

Karen on May 30, 2014 at 6:46 pm

My dad was a Marine in WWII (3-amphibious landings). He is long gone, But I still have his dress blues in my closet to this day. The uniform is most impressive for a seasoned E9. But I only recently realized his Purple Heart is in his foot locker & NOT on his uniform. Boy…this sounds like vintage combat mentality. I only-once asked him why we didn’t get special license plates for the car (Pearl Harbor Survivor/Purple Heart, etc.) and he just laughed…..now you got me thinking………

    #1 VATO on May 30, 2014 at 7:52 pm

Karen, most vets are humble and modest, unlike John Kerry who by the way served in Vietnam, as he would be sure to tell you. He has several purple hearts, one was for having a piece of rice getting lodged in his hind end. Or so I heard from the swift boat vets.

john on May 30, 2014 at 7:56 pm

I am confused? Who is “Rick”?

In king barry’s speech today he kept calling General Eric Shinseki, “Rick”. Does he think “Rick” is short for “Eric”?

We know barry don’t read to well (corpsmen) or even recognizes his wife’s name when on the teleprompter.

At one point he even called “Rick”, “Rich”.

He’s too busy contemplating his navel, . . .

and planning his next golf outing. He LOVES to golf.

“And, yet, they enacted socialized, VA-style medicine–and death warrants–for everyone else who is not a vet.”

Not to mention how disgusting, hateful and elitist – to put it mildly – that Obama exempts himself and Congress and their families from Obamacare for life.

That that did not raise one eyebrow in the putrid, vapid, lap-dog liberal media just boggles the mind.

DS_ROCKS! on May 30, 2014 at 10:37 pm

You’re right, DS_ROCKS! It IS mind boggling, and won’t the joke be on them, when the transformation is complete, and we are all slaves. And when Amerika becomes a smoking hole in the ground, it will be even more mind boggling. I hope I’m in front of Jon Liebowitz and Steve Cold Bear on line to be made in to lampshades, because I have a few choice words for them. I will make sure to say them before we get gassed or skinned.

Alfredo from Puerto Rico on May 30, 2014 at 10:50 pm

More than enough evidence that democrats know all about how to make death panels work to reduce government costs.

Lowell on May 30, 2014 at 10:51 pm

A Purple Heart is awarded for being wounded in combat. So, in theory, a Purple Heart could be awarded for passively acting on the battlefield, whereas an award that is given for valor requires actively doing something meritorious, i.e. going above and beyond what most of your peers would dare. You aren’t required to be wounded for the “V” Device that can be associated with different medals like an Achievement Medal, or a Bronze Star. So, this is where the Greatest Generation, and other proud vets, may have been apprehensive to wear a ribbon that was given to them for not doing anything that dinstinguished them from the next guy, except for the pound of flesh that they gave.
One could be given the Purple Heart Ribbon for being wounded in conjunction with an act of valor and also receive a medal with the”V” Device, like the Bronze Star with combat “V”.

I cant wait for the day we privatize the VA healthcare system, the USPS, the prison system , the IRS and our defense .

HK on May 31, 2014 at 12:05 am

I talked to my Dad yesterday about a bunch of topics. How the grand kids and daughter-in-law are doing etc. The meat of the conversation was how Obama was handling the latest scandal to plague his administration. Anyone who is not an Obamabot knows that the Narcissist-in-Chief hates the military and our veterans.
He fired Shinseki to make it look like he’s doing something. We also know that the man will do nothing but kick the can down the road so that the next president will have to deal with the problem.

Ken b on May 31, 2014 at 7:11 pm

Mr. Ken B, I think you are absolutely wrong. This president has been nothing but a Militant president. He is lib and against war, but he has been nothing but a warmonger and he’s been successful. Can’t take that from him.

Now another thought, I came on here seen Nadie’s comments that Im a black bigot, I read DS Rocks drivel, and how off base they are.
You know I recently moved, its been quite a few months, I’ve yet to have any family over, and I do entertain some, but not one black person has been inside my home, I just thought about it today, I don’t have black friends. Childhood friends but they chose a different lifestyle so I can’t hang with them or take them anywhere.

I know when some blacks eventually come over, the first thing they will talk sht about is the artwork I have all over my walls because white people are depicted in them.

I personally thought the paintings are super classy, (its cool jazz theme) and any woman that has been over, says so, compliments me immensely. I found all this funny after reading those comments, just all too funny. Thats when i realise how foolish i am to go back and forth with fools. Just simple minded self righteous fools who can’t understand the simplest of concecpts.

BigD on May 31, 2014 at 7:58 pm

Congratulations on hanging out with white art critics. But, when you talk about stomping white peoples’ heads in and then say that you’re not a bigot I have to laugh. Just when I was starting to listen to your vomit because you had the patience to ponder what JEG said you had to resort to your lizard brain. I thought it commendable that you would come on here with a different perspective, but you never offer anything of substance. DS ROCKS has called you out but you still come with a weak rebuttal; Alfedo props you up, but then you kick the chair out from under. En otras palabras, eres puro T’lin, T’lin, pero nada de paleta.

nadie on May 31, 2014 at 11:38 pm

hey Big D
I know this is off topic, but, how do you think Lebron James is handling his greatness ? thanks

HK, please forgive me for stepping on BigD’s potential response, but the answer to the LeBron James question is an easy one.
