Men-the New Women-Alert: More College “Men” Major in Home Ec

By
Here’s the latest in the continuing, below-the-radar crisis of the feminization of America’s men:
AP reports that more and more male college students are going into Home Ec as their major. In a disturbing trend, the University of Georgia says that, in the last five years, males majoring in Home Ec have ballooned from 10% to a third. Sad.
To reflect the “men” and avoid embarrassing them (they SHOULD be embarrassed), many schools have now adopted the more PC term, “Human Sciences.” Other ashamed males majoring in this field call themselves, “Family and Consumer Scientists.” Whatever. It’s still HOME EC, even if you call the rose by another name.
“Our students graduate to become lawyers, loan counselors, directors of day care, dietitians,” said Sharon Nickols, dean of UGA’s College of Family and Consumer Sciences. “We just don’t know their major because they don’t say, ‘I’m a family and consumer scientist.'”
Gee, I wonder why.
We’ve already noted that the . Now, we must discount the percentage of men even more to account for the males vying for Bachelors of Science in Girlie-Mandom.

Has it ever dawned on you that the course may be the “cinch A” we all looked for in college. Used to be Black History and Chicano Studies, courses where As were handed out like candy on Halloween and most students were stupid.
