EXCLUSIVE: Letter Details Secret American Network That Helped Israel Become a State

By Debbie Schlussel

Today is Israel’s 66th Birthday. Happy Birthday to the Jewish State, and may it last forever against its Islamic terrorist neighbors from without and their supporters from within. On this occasion of Israel’s birthday, I wanted to share with you a confidential document I exclusively obtained and which can now be made public. The letter, written in 1948 by the late Rudolf G. Sonneborn (of Blessed Memory), an American patriot and proud Jew (and oil exec and businessman), details the work of the Materials for Palestine, Inc. a/k/a “The Sonneborn Institute”–a mysterious and secret network of mostly Americans (and some others) who worked to smuggle badly needed materials to the Jewish people who were fighting to establish a Jewish state in Israel. (In those days, “Palestinians” had names like David and Saul, and they were all Jews.) This heroic group was not exclusively Jewish, and, in fact, worked with gentile Americans, such as Frank Sinatra (whose purported son is anti-Israel freak Ronan Farrow), to get badly needed arms to the Haganah, the precursor to the Israeli Army. But one man, Sonneborn, is truly the unsung hero who, more than any other one person in America (and perhaps the world) helped Israel to become a state in the face of arms embargoes (including an American one) and the like. The group also helped smuggle tens of thousands of Jews “illegally” from the ashes of the Holocaust in Europe to Israel, in defiance of the pan-Arabist British.

Rudolf Sonneborn: Patriotic American, Proud Jew, Courageous Unsung Hero for Israel

I post Sonneborn’s confidential letter, below, which was sent to only a very few supporters who were sworn to secrecy. Note that the full details of what happened and how this brave group of Americans helped Israel are in the book, “The Pledge,” by Leonard Slater. If you have any interest in Israel whatsoever, the book is must reading and would make a great movie (one that Hollywood would never make today). You should also consider reading “The Time Has Come: The Role of Rudolf Sonneborn as Catalyst for Israel,” by Charles B. Sonneborn. It should be noted that Sonneborn’s group was separate and apart from the organized Jewish community, which had more courage at that time than it has today when it comes to helping the Jewish people and fighting the forces of Islamic oppression, but still not enough courage. (To read the letter, use the buttons below to enlarge it.)

“The group also helped smuggle tens of thousands of Jews “illegally” from the ashes of the Holocaust in Europe to Israel, in defiance of the pan-Arabist British.”

That’s horrific that the Brits would in any way interfere in Jews immigrating to their homeland. Just disgusting. And kind of fitting that they’re now beginning to feel the effects of their new, Sharia-dominated, “diversity.”

Awesome scoop, BTW.

It should be noted Rudolf G. Sonneborn refers to “Palestinians.” This is not a misprint – before Israel was born, every Palestinian on earth was a Jew and Palestine under the British referred to a Jewish country. Every institution was Jewish and the famous art posters of the period were Jewish as well.

In those days, there were NO Palestinian Arabs – they did not exist. Every one understood who the Palestinians were and the letter Debbie posted here sets out the truth… which sadly, not too many people know today. Israel exists in part because of his initiative to help the inhabitants of Palestine secure their freedom and their independence.

May his memory be for an eternal blessing! Happy 66th Israel Independence Day and may the Jewish people look forward to celebrating many more independence days in the years to come.

When I visited the NZ Military Museum ( my guide who drove me there and I were all alone except for staff—NZ is nowadays a country of swine), I noted that they had a reference to Palestinians who helped the British in the 2nd World War. It was an old photo and caption; I complained to the Head of the Museum that it should have mentioned Palestinian Jews as opposed to Palestinians, since the Arabs did NOTHING.

A great shout out to a Great American Patriot and Righteous Gentile, Frank Sinatra.

There has ALWAYS been a Jewish presence in Israel. We hear a lot about the Yemenite air lift in 1949 but the fact is there were Yemenites coming to live here decades before that. Russian Jews started migrating in the early part of the 20th C. The post WW2 influx from both Europe, the Middle East and North Africa merely added to the JEWISH PALESTINIAN population.

As for being terrorists, when you take action for a just cause, it’s not terrorism, when you want to wreak destruction for no reason, it’s terror, no matter how you justify your cause.

your references to the history of inhabitants in that area is so absurdly incorrect and faulty it doesnt warrant a response…your fake accents are almost as weak as your attempt to incite..YOU ARE A FRAUD

My mentor who passed away early last year at the age of 89 was recruited into the OSS right after WW2. During the war he was a B-24 bomber crew operating out of Tunisia (98th Bomber Group aka The Pyramidiers). (During one of his mission he had Clark Gable as one of the crew). Anyways, right after the war the OSS sent him to Palestine to find out how the OSS could help the Jewish fighters. He came back and told his superior (here I am quoting his own words as he told me)…they are better fighters than any of us and I think they will win this fight but they might need guns and bullets. With that he was taken from the Palestine mission and sent to Italy where he organized and carried out the transportation of almost 5000 Mussolini supporters and other Italian nazis to Venezuela and Argentina.

Thanks for this timely and interesting article on Israel. The only blemish (or pimple, in this case) is the mention of Ronan Farrow, and the repetition of the hoax that his biological father was Frank Sinatra. The hoax seems to be based on the suggestion that Farrow resembles Sinatra, and that Farrow seems to have blue eyes, as Sinatra did.

But the fact is that Farrow actually resembles his grandfather, John Farrow, a film director most known for “Around the World in Eighty Days.” (Mia Farrow is the daughter of John Farrow and actress Maureen O’Sullivan.)

Sinatra married Mia Farrow in the late 1960s as the last hurrah of trying to remain young. One of the other reasons that Sinatra married Farrow was (whether he admitted it or not) to “even the score” with Mia’s father John Farrow. You see, many years before the marriage, John Farrow had an affair with Ava Gardner, who was the love of Sinatra’s life, after one of their breakups. Sinatra had actually met Mia much earlier when she was only a teenager, and when Sinatra took a casual interest in her (but not as a romantic partner), John Farrow told Sinatra in no uncertain terms to stay away from his daughter. (Both John Farrow and Sinatra were womanizers.) Under those circumstances, in Sinatra’s mind, getting back at John Farrow probably was another factor in addition to Sinatra’s desire to try to live “young.”

It was a very short lived marriage and the divorce was a bitter and acrimonious one. They had had no children together and Frank didn’t want more children at this stage of his life anyway. After their breakup Sinatra didn’t want to have anything to do with her, let alone sleep with her.

When George Jacobs, Sinatra’s personal valet since the prime of Sinatra’s career starting in the 1950s, happened to walk into a Hollywood Disco (I think it was called “The Candy Store”), and ran into Mia Farrow there, he made the mistake of his life by agreeing to dance with her, at Farrow’s urging. The “news” of their dance together made local Hollywood gossip news, and when Sinatra learned of it, he became so furious that he immediately had the locks on the doors of his house changed, locking out Jacobs, not only from Sinatra’s house, but from Sinatra’s life altogether.

By the time Ronan Farrow was born in the mid-1980s, Sinatra had already been married to Barbara Marx since the late 1970s, and their marriage was a solid one. (Sinatra remained married to Marx until his death in the late 1990s.) It is simply inconceivable that Sinatra would have had any physical contact whatsoever with Mia Farrow in the 1980s, given his animosity toward her, not even on a “one last fling” basis.

Frank Sinatra, Jr. is on record as saying that there’s no way that his father is the biological father of Ronan Farrow. And some others in the news have even suggested that Ronan’s “blue eyes” (that purportedly resemble Frank’s) are the result of tinted contact lenses.

It would be great if Ronan Farrow would agree to undergo one of those paternity blood tests, like you used to see on the Maury Povich show, but I’m sure Ronan Farrow wouldn’t agree to it, nor would his mother, Mia. They would both be proven liars if he did. Woody Allen, however, I’m sure would actually agree to participate in the test because he’d win either way. If Ronan is, in fact, his son, then Mia is proven to be a liar on this score. And if Ronan isn’t his son, then Mia is proven to be a liar as well because that would mean that she lied under oath to get child support from Woody.

And that would also raise more questions about Mia Farrow credibility on her accusation that Woody is a child molester. And it would also draw attention to Mia Farrow’s natural brother, John Charles Villiers-Farrow, who was sentenced to 10 years in prison on two counts of child abuse in the molestation of two 10-year-old boys. So with those stakes, don’t expect either Mia or Ronan to agree to participate in any paternity test. Although that won’t stop them from repeating the lie over and over for what they feel are a very gullible public, we should do our part by not repeating the lie, not even with plugging-in such words as “purported” or “alleged” into the sentence.

“And that would also raise more questions about Mia Farrow credibility on her accusation that Woody is a child molester. ”

What question remains? He married Soon Ye who he first met as his 13 y/o step-daughter the moment that she turned 18. He’s already demonstrated his predilection for underage flesh.

DS_ROCKS! on May 7, 2014 at 1:10 pm

Maybe you need a few fact checks of your own, “DS.” In the first place, Soon-Yi was 27 when she married Woody Allen in 1997, not 18. Second, even if she were 18 at the time, so what? So she made an honest man out of him. Do you have something against marriage? They’re obviously a couple still much in love (if only we all could say that!), and they are raising fine and functional children.

As for Allen, he remains an imaginative and highly profound filmmaker. And he could care less what you think of him.

Debbie,

The Rialto, CA school dept assigned 8th graders a project to research whether the Holocaust took place or was a Jewish hoax. After initial defiance by the school board, public outcry forced them to cancel the project.

Unsurprisingly, Muslim names are prominently featured at the Rialto school dept.

Long may they prosper but FDR wasn’t too keen on lending a hand when the Balfour Declaration got sticky either.

Frankz on May 7, 2014 at 2:44 pm

Debbie, not that you don’t on any given day, but with the dissemination of this post’s information you’ve earned a day’s pay—in spades. Beyond the obvious it serves as a reminder of the wealth of history that waits for recognition beneath the drifts of years. Makes one wonder what all could be known by rummaging through old boxes in storage.

Movie worthy, indeed. Your post, alone, leaves me feeling enriched and at the same time deficient, bringing to mind this John Keats quote: ” The supreme fact of human nature is the very small amount of good in it and the supreme importance of that little.”

To Me ,the formation of modern Israel began with the Balfour Declaration . Today all references to this act of the British Parliament has been expunged from history .I can but speculate on why, perhaps it was because the Declaration was payment for the invention of cordite ,which in turn led to the lengthening of WW1 and resulting slaughter. A lot of Australian Soldiers risked their very lives by the capture of Palestine during WW1 and thus began the long process of reforming Israel . Their masters in London acted in total opposite following WW2 with the attempted denial of settlement by post ww2 refugees. Which is where the secret letter writer came in. They were fighting the Arab forces but also the British forces.
The real history of 20th Century Israel is a long blood soaked one ,but then so have been a lot of counties ,especially that of England.

Aron B on May 7, 2014 at 5:32 pm

As I understand it, the key transfer of military weaponry that gave birth to the modern State of Israel was combat aircraft from Czechoslovakia. Supplies from the USA had to be smuggled because of the embargo, but Czechoslovakia seemed to have a certain empathy toward Israel and was not yet under Soviet domination when the critical arms transfer occurred.

Today, the Czech Republic is one of the few European countries that occasionally speaks frankly in support of Israel. Like Israel, the Czechs were sold out by the British and there seems to be some empathy between the two countries. That being said, anti-Semitism persists in the Czech Republic.
