Tax-Subsidized Iraqi Immigrant Convicted of Rape in NY – 3rd Tax-Funded Iraqi Arab Convicted of Rape in Upstate NY

By Debbie Schlussel

It’s time for yet another edition of “Your Day in Islamic Immigration to America.” And it’s yet another of the dividends of George W. Bush’s ill-advised war in Iraq, which handed the country from one sect of Muslims who hate us to another sect of Muslims who hate us. The only thing we got out of the Iraq war other than a lot of Americans dead or amputated and mutilated was a whole lot of Iraqi immigrants, many of ’em Muslim. Iraqi immigrants like convicted rapist Salam Al Haideri.

salamalhaideri

Haideri, 24, who came here as a “refugee” from Iraq and has been on tax-funded entitlements to date, was just convicted of a brutal rape of a 19 year old. He is the third tax-funded Arab refugee from Iraq convicted of rape in the Albany, New York area, since 2010. (I’ve told you about other such instances elsewhere involving Iraqi Muslim immigrants.) Alhamdillullah [praise allah].

A jury needed less than two hours on Thursday to convict an Iraqi refugee of brutally raping a 19-year-old woman behind a trash bin in Colonie after meeting her at a downtown bar last year. Salam Al Haideri, 24, of Niskayuna, faces 25 years in prison after the jury of nine men and three women found him guilty of predatory sex assault and first-degree rape. The panel began deliberating at 11:20. It reached its verdict at 1 p.m. — and that included time for lunch and a brief break to ask the judge a question. Acting Supreme Court Justice Roger McDonough set sentencing for May 16. Al Haideri is the third Middle East refugee — all brought to the Capital Region under the same federally funded resettlement program — to be convicted of a sex crime since 2010.

In closing arguments, Assistant District Attorney Chantelle Cleary played a surveillance video of the distraught 96-pound victim entering a Mobil Mart in Colonie, where she told the clerk, twice: “I just got raped” and said her attacker “smashed my face into the ground.”

Al Haideri and a friend had met the victim, whom neither man knew, at the Buddha Tea House club on North Pearl Street in the pre-dawn hours of June 2, 2013. The 4-foot-11 woman got in their car and, during the ride, Al Haideri touched her. She said she wanted to go home and she and Al Haideri argued. When Al Haideri’s friend stopped the car, Al Haideri yanked the woman out of the car and took her behind a trash bin behind “I Love NY” pizzeria on Central Avenue by Vly Road, Cleary said. Al Haideri smashed the victim’s face into the pavement, ripped open her shorts and raped her for 12 minutes as she begged him to stop, Cleary said. . . .

The conviction follows the sex crime convictions of Walid Nehma, 30, an Iraqi refugee who once was a housemate of Al Haideri, and Salah Mhawesh, 34, an Egyptian refugee. All three settled in the Capital Region with help of a program run by Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany under a contract with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Migration and Refugee Services.

In December 2009, Nehma struck a woman in the face, forced her to the ground, tore her pants open and tried to rape her as she screamed for help in a desolate area next to Capital Repertory Theater. He is serving a 5-year sentence at Great Meadow Correctional Facility in Washington County for attempted rape and is due to be released on Dec. 3. Mhawesh pleaded guilty in 2012 to first-degree sex abuse of a woman in his home on Central Avenue. He was sentenced to one year in the Albany County jail, which became time served.

When Al Haideri testified Wednesday, Cleary also questioned him about the assistance he received in jailhouse conversations with Jacqueline Foster, 73, of Niskayuna, his foster mother in the refugee resettlement program. Al Haideri lived with Foster, who had also allowed Nehma to live with her family for a time.

It is possible that Al Haideri is a Christian Arab (though that’s not indicated by the Catholic Church’s involvement, as the Church settles all kinds, including Muslims), but it makes no difference whether he is Christian or Muslim. We are being swarmed by those who have the dominant rape culture values of the Muslim Arab Middle East imprinted in their psyche, and they are now imposing it on our culture.

Yay, America. We fight Arab Muslims in the Mid-East allegedly in the name of democracy and against backward values. Then we import Arab and Muslim rapists and their backward values from the Middle East’s killing fields and bring ’em to stay with dear old granny. What the hell is wrong with us?!

G-d save this idiotic country.

Debbie,

Would this be what would-be presumptive GOP presidential aspirant Jeb Bush refers to as an “act of love?” You know since he is open borders and all that stuff.

Why the heck would it not be, given his pro-amnesty views? We need more immigrants like Salam Al-Hadeiri here to “spread the love.” After all, we need to accept that’s their culture.

Only in America.

NormanF on April 8, 2014 at 2:31 pm

Norman, you beat me to it. I was going to say the same thing about Bush.

Little Al on April 8, 2014 at 4:45 pm

I have come to the conclusion that the Bush family is a collection of idiots. Perhaps my judgment is a bit extreme, but in light of Jeb’s recent statement, perhaps it is not.

Has anybody asked Catholic Charities about their system of trying to integrate “refugees” into our country and our values? It doesn’t seem to be working in upstate NY.

Sean M on April 8, 2014 at 2:44 pm

This is what multiculturalism has wrought. Large parts of Europe are rape invitation zones – perfectly halal. And we are legitimating that here.

NormanF on April 8, 2014 at 2:47 pm

I won’t be voting for him for that reason and other things. If he is nominated and the Democrats run Hillary, its clear he will lose like John McCain and Mitt Romney. The GOP isn’t called the Stupid Party for nothing.

NormanF on April 8, 2014 at 2:45 pm

Sometimes, American justice is not the way to go. When you’re dealing with the “Wild West” system of law that enables these barbarians to benefit from our system, this approach is far more meaningful.

Just like Sharia laws against paying interest or halal meals prohibiting pork, uncovered and unescorted females are legitimately subject to rape.

We need to realize that we’re all equal, we are the world and that muslims are just like us.

DS_ROCKS! on April 8, 2014 at 3:19 pm

Thanks for the source and information Debbie, when you said at the beginning of your article of “Americans being killed and mutilated in the Iraq war”, I think you meant “American soldiers/US soldiers” were the unfortunate victims of the Iraqi-Muslims sadism act towards our brave soldiers.

In any event, since this kid was sent here under the last few years of the Bush administration, I’m not at all surprised, because in the past DS, you’ve called out Bush Jr. on his fallacies, idiocies and cognitive dissonances on him bringing in some Muslim refugees from that half of the world, who don’t or refuses to adapt to the country’s values, laws, system, etc. I hope this guy at some point gets prosecuted in a court of law on what he did to that 19 year old girl on sexually-attacking her!

Yet another fetid example of who should have never been allowed into this country in the first place. This is what you get when politics and nonchalance take the place of national security and protecting the sovereignty of our borders.

ICE, CBP, and CIS are hard at work as we can see. Will that last out of the Beltway please turn out the lights…..

IceNoMore on April 8, 2014 at 4:36 pm

You only get something out of a war if you win.
Otherwise what you get is defeat.

I just wanted acknowledge that I was wrong in attacking Debbie in regards to censoring my comments. For whatever reason some comments on some previous posts were deleted/disappeared.

I did think that censorship would be out of character for Debbie unless the comments were horribly offensive, I was pissed and I assumed, and I was wrong and I’m admitting it. My apologies Debbie.

I’m guessing his butt will be stretched good and plenty in the big house.

dave on April 8, 2014 at 5:35 pm

No, nothing will happen to his butt in prison, unless he wants it to. Why? Because he will join the other jailhouse moozlooms and super-genius jailhouse islamic reverts, and power trip over other inmates.

Better Up State than the Alternative…
There is always time for calibration & balance, today Women in the USA are getting the Taste of Iraqi equip. – thank Mr. Bush.

Diplomacy does not work with a culture that despises us and believes we are nothing more than stupid evil satanists. You’d think our government would have better sense. This is done all in the name of oil not freedom to begin with. Iraqi’s know this as well.

leecampbell on April 8, 2014 at 6:23 pm

    @leecampbell

Don’t be another kool-aid drinker who thinks the wars fought in the Middle East and all the pandering subsequent to are in the name of oil. That’s all bulls**t that’s been propagandized by the unknowing and uninformed. We’ve yet to receive a spit’s worth of oil; I was there and saw it firsthand. When I was in Iraq and coming back in country from leave there were oil field engineers and crews from all over the world, primarily China and Russia, who were boots on the ground ready to help the Iraqis explore and drill in exchange for drilling rights of their own. There were no drilling permits issued to any U.S. oil companies by the Ministry of Interior because they hated us in the first place and we didn’t support the right faction that was in charge of the oil platform….we didn’t “play the game”.

“Mhawesh pleaded guilty in 2012 to first-degree sex abuse of a woman in his home on Central Avenue. He was sentenced to one year in the Albany County jail, which became time served.”

Huh? One year in a county lockup?!?!?!

Sometimes, I think, American justice isn’t the best way to go in a “Wild West” world like ours. Perhaps this is a better answer in circumstances like this:

(See the Mario Puzo novel, for what the Don’s guys actually do.)

PS. This classic scene also includes two of the among the most conservative actors still in Hollywood: Jimmy Caan and Robert Duvall.

DS_Rocks: [We need to realize that we’re all equal, we are the world and that muslims are just like us.]

Yep! according to the First Amendment of your Constitution, they are or at least their religion is. I suggest you address the issue at that level, specifically an amendment disallowing certain religions because if you don’t, all ICE can do is try to enforce the laws these folks do break, free exercise of their religion not being one of them. Odious as it may be, Islam was not excluded by the FF’s. They were rather in favor of it as one of the “great Abrahamic” religions. See “Treaty of Tripoli. Article 11”
for that opinion.

Meira on April 9, 2014 at 1:34 am

Meira, Jefferson loathed Islam. It’s just that no one expected Islam to be forcibly imported.

It’s also not clear that the Constitution protects the practice of Islam, as the practice involves (inherently) violation of any number of laws and the violation of Constitutional rights. I’d say that Islam could be rolled up and forced out of this country IF the law and Constitution were enforced.

Further, the Constitutional case has nothing to do with the moral case, which DSR was addressing.

skzion on April 9, 2014 at 9:48 pm

How come no one ever mentions that it was St. Ronnie who thrust the Bush family on us in the first place?

Prometheus on April 9, 2014 at 9:56 am

When you let people in without any sort of real screening, you get this sort of thing.

Worry on April 9, 2014 at 1:44 pm

Ironically, if he did this in a Muslim country, the victimized family, if they wished, could kill him for shaming the family.

FriscoKid on April 9, 2014 at 1:54 pm

While her relatives *might* go after him over family honor, absent four male witnesses to her rape, it is she who could be accused of fornication or adultery.

Raymond in DC on April 9, 2014 at 8:29 pm

I taught English as a second language to all three of these men. My grief for the victims and for the men’s “foster mother” is boundless.
