Healthcare.flub: ObamaCare Site Used 10-20-Yr-Old Technology/Code; Designed By Detroit Crony From Obama Campaign

By Debbie Schlussel

Imagine you need open heart surgery. Would you want your surgeon to use ten-year-old medical technology and knowledge? Would you want him to use equipment designed by his crony-ette who helped him win the hospital chief of staff vote? Well, that’s exactly what Obama did with the healthcare.gov website. And it’s a bad omen for the kind of medicine–including open heart surgery–you’ll be getting.

Bend Over Some More

We already know that everything Obama said was a lie–keeping your doctor if you like him/her, keeping your current healthcare insurance policy if you like it, cheaper premiums, etc. And, now, we know that Obama used ten year old technology and coding for the malfunctioning joke of a website. Hey, why not employ cassette tapes and Betamaxes in your angioplasty operations!

And we also know that he awarded the design of the site to Jessica Teal, the Detroit-area chick who designed the Obama Hope and Change campaign website.

* The antiquated technology:

The federal health care exchange was built using 10-year-old technology that may require constant fixes and updates for the next six months and the eventual overhaul of the entire system, technology experts told USA TODAY. The site could be perfect, but if the systems from which it draws data are not up to speed, it doesn’t matter, said John Engates, chief technology officer at Rackspace, a cloud computer service provider. “It is a core problem in the sense of it’s fundamental to this thing actually working, but it’s not necessarily a problem that the people who wrote HealthCare.gov can get to,” Engates said. “Even if they had a perfect system, it still won’t work.” . . .

“I have never seen a website — in the last five years — require you to delete the cache in an effort to resolve errors,” said Dan Schuyler, a director at Leavitt Partners, a health care group by former Health and Human Services secretary Mike Leavitt. “This is a very early Web 1.0 type of fix.” “The application could be fundamentally flawed,” said Jeff Kim, president of CDNetworks, a content-delivery network. “They may be using 1990s technology in 2.0 world.”

Outsiders acknowledged they can’t see the whole system, but they said they feared HHS built a system that will need an expensive overhaul that would cause more headaches for people trying to buy insurance.

* The Cronyette ObamaCare Capitalism – Jessica Teal From Obama’s Dope & Cringe Re-Election Campaign:

Visit the website of Michigan-based design firm Teal Media today and you’d never know designers there helped create HealthCare.gov, the troubled online portal for Obamacare. Just a few days ago, the site looked very different. Teal Media’s homepage featured its work on Obamacare prominently, placing a link to the firm’s work on one of the most well-known websites in America front and center. Now that link, as well as the page devoted to Teal’s work on HealthCare.gov, have been removed. . . .

Teal Media doesn’t seem interested in talking about its work on HealthCare.gov. A woman who answered the phone at the company’s headquarters immediately referred BuzzFeed to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) at the Department of Health And Human Services (HHS) before a single question was asked. CMS is listed as Teal’s client on the firm’s now-erased HealthCare.gov page. When asked about the changed content on the Teal Media site, the woman said that was done ‘in consultation with HHS,” and again referred a reporter to CMS. . . .

Teal Media is led by a prominent former member of President Obama’s celebrated digital campaign team, Jessica Teal. She was Design Manager for Obama’s 2008 campaign, a job that, according to her LinkedIn profile, put her in charge of “the official campaign website and microsites, web/email-based fundraising campaigns, state and constituency literature, large-scale signage and event materials, and special projects.”

Teal’s firm lists many prominent clients in Democratic politics and the government, including the Democratic National Committee, EMILY’s List, the Department of Justice and the Federal Communications Commission. Teal Media’s role in the design of HealthCare.gov was heralded when the firm signed on. The Verge described the company as a “hip design house,” and reported that the design Teal and other consultants came up with was one of the few good things about the Obamacare portal.

A couple of days after that report appeared, Teal Media suddenly put its work for Healthcare.flub back on its site.

Regardless of the smoke and mirrors campaign, ObamaCare is an unmitigated disaster. Just wait ’til you need a heart surgeon under ObamaCare. Think that will be a more successful experience?

Don’t count on it. And make sure your Last Will and Testament is prepared and signed.

In addition to the disdain that Obama has for taxpayers, and aside from the obvious indications that Obamacare will be a medical disaster, we can’t overlook the increased cost to the taxpayers. I suspect that the CBO in their rosy projections did not pay sufficient attention either to the cronyism involved, or to the inherent problems of developing a new complex system, even apart from the cronyism.

But it would be too much to hope for that the next time some defense system doesn’t meet its development or test criteria in an exact optimal way the media will exercise the same patience that they are for Obamacare.

And I’ll bet that Teal, or whoever they get, will do a better job for the Campaign computer tasks.

I learned the following idiom from reading military books. Obama can’t find his ass with both hands.

The real fun begins when the goon squad (IRS) begins withholding tax refunds and slapping liens and attachments en masses to people who haven’t purchased the now government-mandated health insurance “tax.”

A quote from the report above: “Teal’s firm lists many prominent clients in Democratic politics and the government, including . . . the Federal Communications Commission.”

I have regularly cursed the new Federal Communications web site for all the broken links, the sluggish way it loads and a bunch of other problems. NOW I find out from this report the reason why the new FCC web site sucks soooooo bad.

At least with the FCC for most of the stuff there I use I can still access their old web site – unfortunately the folks trying to apply for ObamaCare don’t have that fallback.

Time to look into how the bid was awarded… and their political contributions.

Good going on reporting the telling details on the web site screw-up.

Some still believe that Barky intends the system to fail to lead us to a single-payer system. I’m finding that hard to believe. The push-back from this catastrophe will not, I presume, to make the system even more centralized.

No, I think Barky is abysmally incompetent (as well as malicious, racist, anti-Semitic, and socialistic). Consider one of the first things he used to tell his high-level staff, namely that he is better at every specialty than all of them are in their specializations. Only a head case would believe that. In fairness, his high-level staff are also incompetent.

This indicates how frivolous the Obama Administration was in setting up the machinery for the Affordable Care Act. If they cannot manage to put together and up to date website, where else will they fall down?

The buffoonery and corruption of the Obamanation never ceases to surprise me anymore. It figures that the dopes who shoved Obamacare down our throats would use out of date software to get the stupid site up and running. Never mind that this cost the taxpayers over 600 million dollars and as with anything else that our fearless leader it has turned into crap. Even his stupid speech that Valerie Jarrett wrote for him was nothing but empty words. I can’t stand John McVain but I agree with him when he said that Odumbo should take Air Farce Wun go to Silicon Valley go get some techs and fix the damn site. I’m sure that they could do a better job than that Obama butt monkey Jessica Teal did.
