Whole Foods “Libertarian” John Mackey Takes Millions From Govt to Put Small Biz Owners Outta Biz
Remember when a buncha morons on the right–including Michelle Fraudkin–gushed over Whole Foods’ CEO John Mackey, the self-proclaimed “Libertarian”–when he spoke out against Obamacare, and they urged us to buy products from Whole Foods, even though the pretentious supermarket chain is anti-Israel, pro-Muslim, and dumped all Israeli olive oil (and many other Israeli products) in favor of Palestinian terrorist HAMAS olive oil? Well, like many prominent self-described “libertarians,” Mackey is only Libertarian when it comes to spending HIS money on you. When it comes to spending YOUR money on him, well . . . he’s not so libertarian, after all. Mackey demanded and accepted millions (at least $5.8 million up front and more to come in the future) in federal, state, and local tax funds to subsidize the Whole Foods store he just opened this week in Detroit. Yeah, that’s “libertarian” . . . like Rosie O’Donnell is “hot.” And, I’m told, Mackey plans to use this template of tax money grabs for new stores in inner cities around the country. Cha-ching!
Billionaire Whole Foods CEO John Mackey: A “Libertarian” Who’s Just Plain Liberal When It Comes to Spending Your Money on Him
On Wednesday, a bunch of liberal Democrat politicians from Michigan, including Democrat Senators Carl Levin and Debbie Stabenow, joined Whole HAMAS Foods execs as they cut the ribbon and opened the doors for the Detroit Whole Foods store. Meanwhile, supermarket owners (most of them Chaldeans–Catholics of Iraqi descent) in the area–who’ve busted their buts and sacrificed for decades to keep their stores open and surviving in the crime-ridden area–get nothing from the government, as John Mackey’s store is propped up by taxpayers to compete against them. What’s that, you say? Whole Foods is expensive and caters to an upper-class crowd that won’t compete against the regular markets in the area? WRONG. In fact, the tax millions went not only to building the store, but also go to subsidizing lower prices and more “soul food” products to appeal to the poorer Detroiters in the area and get them to shop there.
Was it really necessary for government dollars to go to open a fancy schmancy upper-class, pretentious supermarket in Detroit’s inner city? What’s next–tax dollars to build Bergdorf Goodman’s in the area, too? Hey, why not a Ferrari dealership, and you can subsidize the price of the expensive sportscar ride? Isn’t that the purpose of government–to make rich people feel all tingly because they brought their pretentious shopping venues to the little people and used YOUR money to do it? Government shouldn’t be in the real estate or supermarket biz. And the Detroit Whole Foods store is a joint venture between Ram Realty Services, Inc–owned by Peter Cummings, the gazillionaire son-in-law of late billionaire Max Fisher–and Mackey’s Whole Foods, either of which can well afford to pay the millions for the project more than the working stiff taxpayers. But that’s not how it goes for fake libertarians who use you and your money to get rich quick.
Let John Mackey be an example for you: many wealthy, prominent “libertarians” are LINOs–Libertarians In Name Only. Another such person this reminds me of Daniel Aronoff, a past officer of the Michigan Libertarian Party. In 2006, he got the federal government to earmark $10 million for roads around Florida land he owned and was developing into some sort of real estate development.
Like I said, these guys are only libertarian when it comes to government spending THEIR money. When it comes to government spending everyone else’s money on them, they’re just plain liberals.

Yup – these are people who don’t need government money! And they rail against welfare and government assistance to the poor.
All this while they’re taking taxpayers’ money and there is a certain term that comes in mind to them.
“Libertarians” want government to stay out of people’s lives. In their own case, what they preach is what they don’t practice. Follow the money.
Its beyond disgusting!
