In the last day, you’ve probably heard the name, Charles Ramsey. The man who rescued Amanda Berry–one of the women who’d been held hostage in the Cleveland house for ten years–gave an interesting interview to the media (he essentially accused White people of racism, though). Jimmy Kimmel packaged it up into a hilarious History Channel show (after all, in our Kardashian age, this is what “history” is, right?).

He wasn’t referring to himself. He was referring to the criminal. Castro “got some big testicles to pull this off, bro,” Ramsey told WEWS. “Because we see this dude every day. I mean every day.”

Regarding himself, he declined any notions of his being a hero, but just that he was doing the right thing, and blamed himself for not helping the women sooner.

I cannot fathom how a site that is proudly and unabashedly supportive of racial profiling can deny that this was Ramsey’s meaning and context. Ramsey’s politically incorrectness should not be depicted as anti-white racism.

Or see things that are not really there due to an achilles heel blind spot. IE “racial profiling”.

Mr. Mallernee, I’ve heard nearly every accent imaginable in the United States, from deep southern to Texan to Bostonian to “Brooklynese” to Appalachian to Midwestern. If you can’t understand what Mr. Ramsey is saying, that’s because you, as you stated yourself, choose not to hear him because of the color of his skin.

But I am glad that Mr. Ramsey chose to listen to the cries of another human being and helped rescue her and the other captives.

Melyssa …. how do you KNOW “most people” understood what Mr. Ramsey said? I’ve discussed this case with several who were not able to understand everything Mr Ramsey said and none of their reasons had to do with race. They just couldn’t understand him for whatever reason. Don’t be so quick to play the racist card unless you have real proof. That only adds to the problem.

This fellow was only making reference to the same “black males and crime” theme that Ms. Schlussel and nearly all the commenters speak of on here on a regular basis. To put it another way: how many of you would enter an inner city neighborhood in Detroit, Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles, Washington D.C. etc? How many of you would do at night while alone, unarmed, and on foot i.e. the Central Park jogger? Now see if you can honestly reconcile the answer to that question with claiming that Charles Ramsey made a racist statement against whites. He wasn’t. It was a politically incorrect reference to the severe problem of black male violent crime. Where did all the conservatives on this site who want Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, the NAACP, Barack Obama and Hollywood liberals to address that issue go?

Let’s dismantle the crux of Gerald’s achilles heel “issue” (it’s a character flaw by now because deductive reasoning should have cleared it up for him by now and hasn’t). Character issues are as “to the man” as they get. You either do the right thing or not.

1) Dinesh D’Souza has ZERO credibility. He has written a truly disingenuous book on Obama-Putin. I see now why you sited him. He thinks a lot like you (and it’s not much because those who know your achilles heel, Gerald, know you don’t have much to offer in deductive reasoning and critical thinking). FAIL!

Hmm, you know what, I’m glad and thankful that these girls are saved and rescued and can live a normal life, and I’m also thankful that these three guys were arrested for abducting these girls and having them captive for nearly a decade against their will, but here’s my reasoning regarding this Charles Ramsey guy, if I we’re any of you here, I wouldn’t paint this man as a hero and here’s why.

First off, Mr. Ramsey admitted that he was familiar with the Castro brothers and that he lives across the road from them, he also said that he saw them and the three females everyday of the week and witnessed a lot of stuff that were suspicious, cynical and wary, etc. So my question is, if Mr. Ramsey noticed a lot or some suspicious stuff occurring at that residence, why didn’t he notified the authorities on what was going at the place and waiting nearly a decade later?

Something doesn’t quite add up here and I’m kinda wary on Charles Ramsey, I think this man knew something from the get-go, and I don’t mean to sound like a conspiracy-truther on this issue Debbie and others!

Sean, I just wanna point out that these poor girls will NEVER have a normal life. They can, but they have many mountains to climb to be able to overcome what they had to endure under duress and bad intent.

They average American person is NOT mentally healthy in 2013 and fights battles (known and unknown) constantly in everyday life.

This story is not over. Those girls will need the support of people and things that are just not at hand in USA in 2013…even if people wanna think so.

I am thinking of the long, hard road these girls will have to travel. I don’t envy them but at this time I wish them the very best.

Sean, I haven’t found any news account where Mr. Ramsey said he saw three women over there. He did say he would see two small kids playing in the backyard and assumed they were the grandkids of the perp. He said he ate barbecue and listened to Salsa dancing with the dude and didn’t know ANY women were over there. When he helped the first victim escape, she was the one who told him there were two others in the house. He said he didn’t know of any suspicious activity at the house or he would have acted a lot sooner.

It’s no more than a white person telling about an incident and then saying something like, “I don’t know if a black person would have done that or not.” QUIT LOOKING FOR RACIST OVER/UNDERTONES IN WHAT PEOPLE SAY! His comments are hilarious because we all know the misconceptions of black men being overly desirous of white women and they should be afraid (i.e. BIRTH OF A NATION). Unfortunately this attitude still persist in this country and Mr. Ramsey’s comments was a reflection of this notion.
would I be wrong in suggesting that Mexican men have this strong desire for young teenage girls and procuring them by any means necessary, even against their wills?

I thought for sure you’d post something about today being “Jerusalem Day”, the anniversary of Israel’s paratroopers capturing the Arab section of Jerusalem, permitting free access for Jews and Christians to the Temple Mount and the Western Wall.

I only know about it because I saw it on another web site.

When I was in Jerusalem (as the only Christian on an all Jewish tour group), we stopped at the Hadassah Hospital, where I purchased a souvenir key chain depicting Moshe Dayan and Yitzak Rabin, the heroes of the Six Day War.

I still have that souvenir key chain, and it sits right here in my room, in my footlocker.

Neat stuff, huh?
