Anthony Lewis, Far-Left Anti-Israel JINO, RIH
On Monday, former New York Times columnist Anthony Lewis died. Good riddance.
While there are tears for him on the left and the right, those on the right who weep over this cretin are completely ignorant. No tears from me. I will never forget Tony Lewis’ legion of anti-Israel columns. This jerk was a JINO (Jew In Name Only), who seemed to relish the chance to dance on the graves of Jewish victims of Islamic terrorism. Lewis missed no chance to defend Yasser Arafat and piss on Israel and no chance to show that he enjoyed his role as anti-Semitic Jew for the “Newspaper of Record.”
It is yet another sign that “only the good die young,” as Billy Joel once sang, because Lewis lived until the ripe old age of 85, and the man was nothing short of wicked. Lewis, a regular fixture on the Sunday TV talk shows wielded enormous influence in the days before myriad cable channels and the internet. His opinion was eagerly gobbled up without question or critique by America’s elites and broadcast media. And, so, it is fitting that he died in an era in which his likes no longer holds such sway, if any sway at all, beyond a few sagging, dope-smoking vegan hippie refugees from the ’60s and early ’70s and lefty cat ladies who still watch PBS (a/k/a “Palestinian Broadcasting Service”).
While Anthony Lewis is known as the author of “Gideon’s Trumpet,” about the landmark Supreme Court case that led to court appointed attorneys for criminal defendants, I remember him as the author of countless attacks on America–whether it was his attacks on the Vietnam War, as our boys were being blown to bits on the battlefield there–or his attacks on Israel for every single problem in the Middle East. Not long after 9/11, Lewis also compared American authorities to Osama Bin Laden, as if both sides of the 9/11 attacks–the perpetrators and their targets–were morally equivalent. Even whack job Noam Chomsky said Lewis was at “the far left of the spectrum.”
I’m sure the Palestinians are bummed (at least for a quick, pretend second) that they lost this useful idiot. David Bar-Ilan, former spokesman for Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, put it best when he called Lewis, “PLO booster for decades, a writer who yields to no one as an Arafat groupie.”
Lewis’ typical vitriol compared Israel to apartheid South Africa and called Jewish homes in Israel “illegal,” claiming they were on occupied territory, the typical line of today’s HAMAS and yesterday’s and today’s PLO/Fatah. He also repeatedly claimed that Jews and Israel are “provocative,” and therefore, deserving of Islamic terrorism. He was never concerned with Arab and Muslim repression, because in his world, only Israel represses anyone. That would explain Lewis’ contribution to the anti-Israel book, “The Other Israel: Voices of Refusal and Dissent,” edited by Israel-hater-from-within Tom Segev.
The man was despicable, and I, for one, am not sad to see him go. Way overdue. Anthony Lewis’ death is no loss. The sad thing is that he ever graced this earth to begin with.
Where Lewis is going he need not pack much. It’s very hot and he can finally have he love affair he clearly fantasized about with his buddy Yasser Arafat, who is also a resident.
Anthony Lewis, ROT. IN. HELL. Buh-bye.
