GUILTY! Jury Reaches Verdict on Deposed Corrupt Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick

By Debbie Schlussel

**** UPDATE: Kwame Kilpatrick GUILTY! of Several Counts of Extortion; Kwame Kilpatrick Guilty on 24 Counts, his friend Bobby Ferguson Guilty on 9 Counts; father Bernard Kilpatrick Guilty on 1 Count ****

This morning, the federal jury which heard the five-months-long corruption trial against deposed corruptocrat Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick announced that it has reached a verdict. After three weeks of deliberations on 45 counts (including racketeering/RICO charges) against Kilpatrick, his father Bernard Kilpatrick, and his BFF Bobby Ferguson, the jury’s verdict will be announced at 10:30 a.m. Eastern Time, just minutes from now as I write this. Details on some of Nation of Islam acolyte Kilpatrick’s past conduct here, here, here, here, and here.

PIMP DADDY MAYOR GUILTY . . .

What will the jury’s verdict be? I believe that all three defendants will be found guilty of at least one count each and probably a few more. Even if they are found guilty of just one count it will be considered a victory, since many of the counts carry 20 years in prison. I know a few of the FBI agents who conducted the investigation and they are good guys who did a thorough job. They started this investigation ten years ago, so this is a decade in the making. On the other hand, the prosecutors took five months to present their case, which is too long, and sometimes causes jurors’ eyes to glaze over, and they get fatigue even from the most serious, shocking facts of the case. Still, I think some guilty verdicts are imminent.

However, a good friend of mine has a different view. The fear is that a single Black juror would prevent any guilty verdicts, as has happened in similar recent federal trials in Detroit, including a trial of Ferguson. I read him descriptions of the White and Black jurors as they appeared in a major Detroit paper. The White jurors all answered questions saying they follow the news closely (including FOX News) and claimed not to know a thing about Kilpatrick or why he was on trial, other than that he was once Mayor. Huh? These people clearly lied to get on the jury. On the other hand, the Black jurors all said they knew all about Kilpatrick’s conduct and thought he disappointed the public. And, yet, the defense attorneys–who clamored for more Blacks on the jury (there are four Blacks and one Hispanic on the jury)–allowed these Blacks on the jury. They must have thought the Black jurors were lying, too, just like the White ones. This is what my friend thinks, saying that both White and Black jurors lied to get on the jury to fit their real agendas with Kwame Kilpatrick.

We’ll see if he’s right in a few minutes.

What do you think? Will Kwame Kilpatrick be found guilty?

**** UPDATE: Looks like my friend’s theory was wrong, and I was right. Kwame Kilpatrick, Pimp Daddy Mayor, has been found guilty of several counts of extortion. The judge in this case, Nancy Edmunds, is extremely liberal (and goes easy on Islamic terrorists), but when the spotlight is upon her, as in this case and as was the case in the Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab sentencing, then she throws the book at the guilty. Kilpatrick will do a long time in prison.

The timing is very suspicious to me.

Detroit is on the verge of being completely taken over by the State of Michigan. If Kilpatrick had been acquitted, it would have been indisputable proof that the city was completely incapable of monitoring and disciplining itself. (we all know that already, but it would have been the final nail.)

Now, with a small amount of uncertainty remaining, with, not so coincidentally, the Detroit City Council formally arguing against the takeover tomorrow, the Black jurors quite likely felt it was worth sacrificing Kilpatrick in order to preserve their very small chance of maintaining some limited financial autonomy and credibility.

    @Little Al–

Not sure that “sacrifice” is the appropriate word here.

Dear Debbie

I never realized how bad the city of Detroit has fallen. That is until I finished reading Detroit: AN American autopsy by Charlie LeDuff. What a sad state of affairs to read what has happened to the city and the people who inhabit the place. If you have not read the book please do. However, I am sure you will find it interesting even if you already know all the crazy things the author mentions.

GB: Nothing in “LeDuff’s” book is new. It’s all old news from real, legit reporters who broke the stories and he just ripped ’em off. The guy has a record of plagiarism, which got him fired from previous newspapers where he worked (google it). And he’s a liar who used his dead crack whore sister (whom he never helped in life) for his book and fame. He also made up an entire story in The Detroit News about a female cop who he claimed was a stripper. The whole story was fake and made up, but he lucked out b/c he’d already left the News for FOX 2 News (where he pandered to the Arab, pro-Muslim owner of the Detroit-Windsor Ambassador bridge) and because the woman’s lawyer filed her defamation suit a day too late. So, no, I won’t find anything in LeDuff’s book interesting ‘cuz I already found it interesting when the original reporters reported it. DS

Sounds like CLD is like Boston’s own (*projectile vomit*) POS Mike Barnicle.

Hope CLD doesn’t have all the pals in high places that arrogant POS Barnicle has…he’ll be “Winning!” no matter what or who he touches if so.

I call Kirsten Powers “The Luckiest Girl In The World” and MB is the male D-Bag version of that. Always protected and always has a cush job no matter how badly he has embarrassed himself. It makes me sick and have fits.

I learned of CLD from this site. Unfortunately, because he comes off as “sassy” (for lack of a better word) I have heard peeps I like mistakenly say he’s the real deal when they hear his reportage.

Thank goodness for the truth we learn here!

What about all the other people involved in Kilpatrick’s crimes? What about the big boys that made money off of him. This wasn’t a liquor store stickup, where you bust the “wheel man” and the two guys that go into the store. There were a lot more people involved in all of this.

Detroit was run like a Third World banana republic.

Kilpatrick may gone but its too late to save the city, now under Michigan state management.

You can add the conviction of a corrupt mayor and his pal to the list of reasons not to like about Detroit. Its hard to like the city these days.

The federal jury delivered a long overdue verdict today though.

You bunch of racists! If he’s black, he innocent! Elijah Muhammed told me so.

Anything likely going to come of the Tamara Greene case?

Gerald on March 11, 2013 at 1:40 pm

No, nothing will come of the Tamara Greene case. Didn’t you hear the party at the mansion was an “urban legend”? Mike Cox, then Attorney General of Michigan, shut down the investigation following a thirty minute meeting with Kwame, calling it just that.

The eyewitness report of Cox being at the party is what I think Cox called “bullshit”.

Makes you wonder what went on in that meeting and at the alledged party.

Visteo on March 11, 2013 at 2:10 pm

Good riddance. The others that have brought Detroit down should be be caught too. By the way who is that smiling white girl I keep seeing in the background of pimp daddy’s picture? Oh wait, pimp daddy, I see, never mind.

jake49 on March 11, 2013 at 2:07 pm

detolit sealed it’s fate when the racist negroes chased all of the whites out of the city.from there it has been slide into america’s first third world city.you can not save detroit because all you will be doing is throughing good money after bad.let detroit sink in to the shit hole they created.

Ladies and gentlemen! Allow me to introduce the former and FUTURE mayor of Detroit– Kwame Kilpatrick!!!

Yep- when he gets out of prison, would anyone be surprised if he ran for mayor again and won?

SDF on March 11, 2013 at 2:36 pm

I was thinking the same thing – just like DC mayor Marion barry who was re-elected after serving a sentence for crack cocaine dealing.

    DS_ROCKS! on March 11, 2013 at 3:33 pm

The unions and the Communists also played a role in the decline of Detroit. Both were influential in the 40s, and the Communists regained some of their influence in the 60s.

Little Al on March 11, 2013 at 2:43 pm

I saw a Tweet that an airplane is pulling a banner around the skies of Detroit advising Kwame not to ‘drop the soap’.

When Kwame was ‘in exile’ in Texas, I used to see him filling his new Mercedes 600 with gas at the Costco. I wonder what Detroit based auto company makes those cars!

Anony Mouse on March 11, 2013 at 3:03 pm

All along I thought the same as Debbie’s friend, believing there’d be at least one black juror unwilling to vote guilty on any count.

I was braced for Kwame strutting out of the courthouse in all his smug glory; that smirk more obnoxious than even.

I won’t be seeing post-verdict footage for another hour or so. It would be great to be treated to a new view of the former mayor. I’ve been fantasizing all day of the creep staggering away as if stars and chirping birds were circling his head.

I suggest that after his jail term that Kilpatrick apply for HSI. HSI will hire Kilpatrick in a minute; he will blend in well there—especially if he gets a gold grill.

King David on March 11, 2013 at 4:17 pm

No he can be mayor of Atlanta next.

jake49 on March 11, 2013 at 7:22 pm

The funny thing is this POS can recover from this “incident”. Why do you good people ask? It’s because for the lofo black democrats out there. These are the same idiots who thought that the “bitch” set up Marion Barry, OJ didn’t kill Nicole and Ron, and who voted for the O’Clown twice. When Kipatrick gets out of jail maybe he could be mayor of DC, Oakland, or Atlanta. It looks like the folks in those cities will take anybody. Even a crooked Magilla Gorilla look-a-like.

Ken b on March 11, 2013 at 8:04 pm

I suspect that Kwame Kilpatrick will disappear for quite some time. Being the former Mayor of Detroit is not really a great recommendation for any job, even if you happen to be honest. Kilpatrick will be lucky if his former job gets him out of the general population in prison.

Worry01 on March 12, 2013 at 4:17 am

The “Minister” Rasul shown in the photo above appears often on the racist Mildred Gaddis’ “Inside Detroit” radio talk show on WCHB AM 1200 in the morning. Interesting listening if one can stomach it.

MarkF on March 12, 2013 at 5:29 am

@jake49:

Atlanta is nothing like Detroit. That World Net Daily article yesterday was totally inaccurate. It was so bad that even Erick Erickson saw fit to call it out on his radio show.

Gerald on March 12, 2013 at 9:34 am

He had his fun, and now he’s done. Karma.

Steve Epps on March 12, 2013 at 10:27 am

Hopefully, knowing he will be hammered at sentencing, Kilpatrick will name names. A RICO charge is pretty much a death sentence; he’ll be lucky to get out in his lifetime. See you in hell, playa.

WilliamMunny on March 12, 2013 at 1:08 pm

No problem;sometime in the future, he – It? – will claim he’s “rehabilitated” himself, and get re-elected to some similar political spot( through courruption,of course ) – maybe even get re-elected mayor.

Impossible,you say? It’s Detroit,and he’s Black – put 2 and 2 together.
