What NOT to Wear: 7th Century “Fashions” for Fall Now Showing in Paris
**** SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATE ****
Remember the good old days when haute couture–high fashion–meant style and class, dignity and elegance? That used to be the way of the runways of French fasion week, when designers like Chanel and Givenchy, had their models strut the runways of Paris with beautiful ensembles–silk shantung suits and toile gowns.
Givenchy Fall, Um, “Fashion”
Sadly, as my friend–Dr. Rachel Ehrenfeld, the great, tireless warrior against Islamic extremism–noted to me in an e-mail, this fall’s fashion week, held last month in Paris, featured something entirely different. Those same designers embracing the burqa, the hijab, the niqab, the abaya, and other signs of Islamic oppression of women. It’s interesting: designers who used to stand for the liberation of women, via mini-skirts and less complicated, cumbersome outfits, have now done a 180. All of their liberal values tossed out the window in a New York minute in order to embrace the chick-hatred of Islam. . . and to stick it to French President Nicholas Sarkozy (who is trying to outlaw this garb of extremism and she-slavery).
I’ve been following this (anti-)fashion trend over the last decade. As I’ve noted, women’s magazines, like Marie Claire, told us how “sexy” the niqab (full face veil) and gave us several page spreads to show us models covered in all-Black sacks and ugly drapery. And there have been several fashion shows like this in Britain and elsewhere. But they usually didn’t feature the top of the line designers like Chanel and Givenchy.

Chanel-istan “Fall Fashion”
Can’t wait ’til clownista dresser and failed fashion slave Michelle Hussein Obama picks up one of these. Let’s hope she opts for the ones covering the face. And maybe she can purchase Whipped-Hubby-in-Chief Barack a matching keffiyeh–you know, just to make what I’ve been warning about for the last three years “official.”
All this summer, gladiator sandals have been all the rage for women. Some have said that bondage gear is next. Whoever predicted that was close, but apparently fashion has skipped to a far lower rung in the ancient sado-barbaric wear.

**** UPDATE: As my friend Bill notes:
The sad and ironic part is that many of these designers would be killed under sharia law for being homosexual. I wonder if they ever considered that fact as they were embracing a culture that would prefer them hung or thrown off a high building or stoned to death.
Exactly.
