Fadia Odeh: Palestinian Muslim Top Homeland Security Official Under Investigation for Bank Fraud; Hubby was ILLEGAL ALIEN, Brother is Drug Dealer – EXCLUSIVE

By Debbie Schlussel

**** SCROLL DOWN FOR MULTIPLE UPDATES WITHIN POST ****

DebbieSchlussel.com has exclusively learned that the Department of Homeland Security’s Customs and Border Protection (CBP) “Clean Team” is in the Detroit area to investigate Fadia Odeh, the militant Palestinian Muslim Chief of Staff for Customs and Border Protection for the entire state of Michigan. Ms. Odeh is under investigation for committing fraud in a short sale of the Dearbornistan Heights home where she lived in order to purchase a far more expensive nearly $500,000 home in the swankier Detroit suburb of Northville.

Sources close to Ms. Odeh informed DebbieSchlussel.com about the apparently fraudulent short sale by Ms. Odeh back in August and noted that it was odd that a bank would allow Ms. Odeh to sell back her home for far less than she owed because she “couldn’t afford it,” and, yet, at the same time, she had the money to build a far more expensive home in a new neighborhood. Now, sources tell DebbieSchlussel.com that Ms. Odeh is under investigation because she apparently gave a lot of her cash to a relative to hide in order to fraudulently plead poverty to the bank and obtain a short sale of her Dearbornistan Heights home. Former Michigan Supreme Court Justice Diane Hathaway recently pleaded guilty to fraud for a similar short sale scheme. (And, as DebbieSchlussel.com reported on Monday, Odeh’s husband was an illegal alien and her brother is a major drug dealer. More on them later in this column.)

Many Customs and Border Protection agents oversee America’s land and sea borders and ports, inspecting incoming passengers and their luggage and belongings. They are the uniformed agents in booths when you re-enter the country who ask you questions and are supposed to keep terrorists and other dangerous individuals out of the country. In Michigan, they inspect those coming into the United States from the bridges and tunnel from Canada to Michigan, arriving passengers from Europe and the Middle East (and other foreign countries) at Detroit Metro Airport, and so on. The Customs and Border Protection “Clean Team” is a team of internal affairs investigators sent in to investigate corrupt agents when the local investigators from internal affairs have been compromised, which is apparently the case in Detroit.

Local investigators did a sham investigation of Odeh, clearing her despite overwhelming evidence of improper and apparently illegal conduct in connection with the fraudulently-obtained short sale and other conduct related to national security matters at Detroit Metro Airport, where Ms. Odeh was third in command and often first in command during her shift at the airport. But local investigators work at the behest of Islamo-pandering Michigan Customs and Border Protection Field Office Director Christopher Perry, who promoted Odeh despite repeated complaints from many Detroit Metro Airport customs agents that Odeh repeatedly forced them to allow dangerous Muslims into the U.S. who were deemed national security risks by the U.S. government, in violation of the rules. These Muslim arrivals should have been turned away and deported, but agents were consistently overruled by Odeh, and she repeatedly harassed and terrorized agents trying to do their jobs. Now, as Perry’s chief of staff, Odeh has access to vital top secret national security information about our borders, bridges, tunnels, and other border infrastructure, which she can easily pass on to her fellow extremist Muslims.

As I told you back in August, Ms. Odeh demanded that Customs and Border Protection agents who worked for her at Detroit Metro Airport attend a sensitivity training propaganda session on Arabs and Muslims, held around the anniversary of 9/11. Odeh put on the event with her relative, who is also an Arab Muslim Customs and Border Protection agent, and a division of the Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services (ACCESS), a government-funded Muslim welfare agency that aid illegal aliens in sneaking into the United States and staying here. ACCESS also openly supports HAMAS and Hezbollah.

As I noted on Monday, rather than answer the questions I raised on this, CBP Field Office Director Christopher Perry began an intense investigation to uncover the identity of the party that gave me the flier for this non-classified Muslim propaganda event. He left his cushy Detroit office and went to the airport every day for a week, lecturing agents not to believe what they read and not to talk to outsiders, and he began questioning agents. Then, he assigned another top agent, Chief Brown (who heads the land borders in Michigan for CBP) to spend months interrogating White male CBP agents with military experience, who worked at Detroit Metro Airport. Who cares about who and what are coming into this country at our borders and ports, when we must find out who gave Debbie Schlussel a flier–an issue of the highest national security importance! Priorities.

christopherperry

Customs & Border Protection Detroit Field Office Director Christopher Perry:
With Him in Charge, You’re Not Safe

Fadia Odeh’s story is a scary example of many that occurred in a completely pandering response to the 9/11 attacks. After the attacks and the creation of the new Department of Homeland Security agency, the Bush administration was desperately looking for Arab Muslims to put in positions of power at Homeland Security and established a rapid affirmative action program for their advancement. Enter Fadia Odeh, for whom the 9/11 terrorist attacks was the best thing to ever happen in her life. **** UPDATE: In her ten years at Homeland Security, she went from making ten dollars an hour to a six figure salary. Cha-ching! END OF UPDATE ****

Inside sources note that Ms. Odeh failed many of the required tests to become a Customs and Border Protection agent, and yet she was hired anyway. And Homeland Security discovered that Odeh’s husband, Saleh Daoud Odeh, a Palestinian Muslim like his wife, was here illegally. Instead of telling Ms. Odeh that it could not hire an agent dealing with national security issues who was knowingly married to an illegal alien and deporting Ms. Odeh, the Department of Homeland Security quickly granted Saleh Daoud Odeh U.S. citizenship. Inside sources also say that Homeland Security learned that one of Ms. Odeh’s seven brothers was (and remains to date) a major illegal drug trafficker between Chicago and Miami. The sources do not believe that Ms. Odeh disclosed either of these disqualifying facts about her husband and brother in her application to join Customs and Border Protection (and lying about those facts on a federal form can be a prosecutable federal offense). But, again, Homeland Security hired Fadia Odeh anyway because they wanted Arab Muslims, and she fit the bill.

Thereafter, Odeh was rapidly promoted within Customs and Border Protection, and repeatedly promoted over qualified candidates for positions for which she was not qualified and didn’t meet the basic standards. Odeh was promoted to a prestigious position in Nova Scotia, Canada, where her children were sent to private schools, courtesy of the U.S. government. And when another agent complained about being the victim of sexual harassment in Nova Scotia (which had nothing to do with Odeah), Customs and Border Protection used this as an excuse to promote Odeh again, and soon the proud high school graduate was third in command at Detroit Metro Airport and first in command much of the time. In addition to this, the Department of Homeland Security flew Ms. Odeh around the world to teach our border and port security procedures to most of the Arab and Muslim countries . . . just in case they don’t know how to game our system enough.

Ms. Odeh’s new U.S. citizen/former illegal alien hubby, Saleh Daoud Odeh, runs a business tinting and or installing tinted windows on cars. The nature of the business raises questions because Michigan has specific laws, rules, and regulations regarding who can have dark, tinted windows on their automobiles. That’s because drug dealers and other serious criminals seek dark windows on their automobiles to hide their business and evade the eyes of law enforcement. Who are Mr. Odeh’s clients? It’s pretty clear. And there are many other serious questions about Mr. Odeh and his associates. It is interesting to note that none of the mortgages and other loan and sales documents (which we reviewed) associated with either of Ms. Odeh’s homes–the 6904 Norborne Avenue home in Dearborn Heights which is apparently the short sale home; and the new home on 16131 Westminster Dr. in Northville–appear to have Saleh Daoud Odeh’s name on them. Why is this? Does he have bad credit? Is it because of the questionable nature of his business? Is it because of his associations with known supporters of Islamic terrorism?

**** UPDATE: Sources say that the reason he is not listed on the forms that we reviewed for Odeh’s two homes is that both Odeh and her husband know that he minimally reports income from his all-cash business on tax returns, while both of them drive brand new luxury cars. Mr. Odeh’s tax returns would be required documentation furnished to the bank were his name to be jointly listed on the mortgage. If they filed joint returns, however, then Fadia Odeh may have committed a crime by signing tax returns which she knows under-reported income from her hubby’s all cash biz. **** END OF UPDATE

Because I could not find an available photo online of Mrs. Odeh’s new home, yesterday I drove out to Northville to take a photo. As you can see from the pic below (which I took–sorry for the poor lighting), it’s a modest looking, average middle-class home. And usually homes of that size in metro Detroit do not cost a half a million dollars (or anything close to it). But the home is in a very expensive, upper-class neighborhood full of massive homes and McMansions, which is in a pastoral setting near farms and lots of open land. It’s far nicer than her much smaller Dearborn Heights home, where the setting is far more urban and homes like the one Ms. Odeh apparently unloaded onto her bank sell for far less than $100,000.**** UPDATE: DebbieSchlussel.com has learned the new home was custom-built and is chock full of top-of-the-line, expensive furnishings. Even on her six figure Homeland Security salary, though, Odeh could not afford both homes (AND her newly purchased Lexus), which is why she apparently engaged in the short sale fraud. END OF UPDATE ****

fadiaodehhouse

I contacted Customs and Border Protection in August to ask questions about most of what is contained in this column, but CBP officials never returned my phone calls or commented.

Maybe that’s because, as insiders and those close to Ms. Odeh herself say, despite the trillions of tax dollars being spent on the Department of Homeland Security, Fadia Odeh is “Exhibit A” of a frightening fact:

Because of irrational political correctness by the U.S. government (and absurd fear of political uprising by the large Muslim population), the border is no safer–and is in fact, much less so–than it was prior to September 11, 2001.

Let’s hope that Customs and Border Protection’s “Clean Team” cleans up the mess on aisle six that is Fadia Odeh. But, remember: no matter what happens to her, they’ll simply replace her with another Arab Muslim of her ilk. **** UPDATE: And, in fact, sources say that Fadia Odeh got her two sisters similar Customs and Border Protection agent jobs at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport, where they currently work and probably behave the same way as their sis. Sources say that they, too, did not pass the tests, standards, and requirements to qualify for these positions. But, hey, it’s not what you know. It’s who you know, right? END OF UPDATE ****

That’s the new “Homeland Security.” Security for our enemies. But not for America.

As always very good article Debby. This is totally insane what’ going on with home land security. This is absolutely crazy. And I am absolutely disgusted.

Cassandra Clearwater on March 6, 2013 at 9:26 am

I completely disagree with everything in this article. This article represent blatant Islamophobia. We should be doing all we can to encourage the advancement of Muslims into all sectors of government, regardless of any alleged threats they may pose to security or whatever collateral economic results may ensue.

If anyone should get killed as a result of these promotions of Muslims to higher positions, that is a small price to pay for helping to counteract the many decades of agony, abuse, assults, and attacks that Muslims have suffered as a result of the evil US Imperialist and Israeli Zionist assaults upon the dignity and sanctity of Muslims victims who have only been seeking to make this a better world by advancing the Muslim religion.

Similarly, no charges should be inflicted upon Muslims who may be taking money that is not theirs or who may be representing statements that differ from the facts, as Muslims have suffered enough from their evil transgressors, and some level of tolerance must, therefore, be taken into account, as they are acting out of deep religious conviction, rather than out of some personal, selfish motives as the US Imperialists and Israeli Zionists are known to do.

Unfortunately, there is a long history of incidents like this, going back at least as far as the Russian Revolution of 1917.

It is well known that there has been Communist penetration, including at the highest levels, of the Government, and Communist influence of our diplomats from 1917 through the end of the Cold War, particularly, but limited to the 30s and 40s.

Now, it is not only Communist influence, but a double whammy, both the Communist-inspired misfits, and the Muslims as well. Since democracy appeals to the lowest common denominator, this is not surprising, and helps explain the weakening of our way of life, even though the Western free-market economy is inherently superior to the socialist and totalitarian schemes that dominate the rest of the world.

Little Al on March 6, 2013 at 10:59 am

    @Little Al–

I think you meant “NOT limited to…”

How ironic that Hillary Clinton’s infamous “What difference does that make at this point?” was precisely the retort of the Leftie scum when the Venona files came out, proving the extent of Commie infiltration in our government—-especially during the FDR and Truman years.

Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose

Love the DHS ad. A couple of years ago, there were news reports about a “Be Aware” antiterrorism video. I found the link and watched it. Practically every vignette featured an Arab (usually in full man-dress) reporting the shady, suspicious activities of a white male.

@Skunky et al.—

“They” can get away with this mostly via PC, which, of course, is an effective deterrent against free speech. And, there’s the criminally complicit media.

If it makes you feel better, things were far worse when the media hid all that was bad (which was essentially everything) about FDR. You might recall that we also got talked into a questionable war, whose main result was making the world safe for Communism.

Thank God for alternative media these days.

Red Ryder on March 6, 2013 at 12:10 pm

Excellent point Red Ryder! Your point on FDR can not be said enough!

And piggy-backing on that, it reminds me of JFK, too.

      @Skunky–

      Thanks!!

Red Ryder on March 6, 2013 at 12:38 pm

    Red Ryder,

Which questionable war did we get talked into?WW2 by any chance?

Who did the talking? The Jews? The British? The Rothchilds? The commies? A combination of the above?

I guess Tojo and Hitler must have been doing some talking too, because Tojo bombed us and Hitler declared war on us.

As far as the commies go, before June of 1941, many if not most of the commies in the US were on the side of their uncle Joe Stalin with his non-aggression pact with Hitler. So their strange bed fellows included many conservatives and right-wing Jew-haters in the America First movement.

Of course after the Nazis attacked the USSR,the commies did a 180 degree flip and developed amnesia over their previous position.

Scott on March 6, 2013 at 1:33 pm

      @Scott–

Of course WW2. 55 million dead to keep the world safe for communism until 1989? Bad enough that we got into it in the first place, but our prosecution of the war favoring Stalin was unforgivable.

Red Ryder on March 6, 2013 at 2:41 pm

        Red Ryder,

Your analysis of the US involvement in WW2 is pretty twisted, and right in line with mostly anti-Semitic crackpots including Pat Buchanan.

You said we got “talked into” the war, and I asked you who did the talking, and you didn’t respond. So I’ll ask you again, who did the talking?

You also failed to respond to my point that Japan bombed us and Hitler declared war on us.

You say the US went to war to help the commies, yet as I pointed out and you failed to respond, the American commies apparently didn’t realize we were trying to help Uncle Joe, because the commies were isolationists from 1939 until Germany invaded the USSR in 1941.

Scott on March 6, 2013 at 3:46 pm

          @Scott–

OK. No one can argue with the fact that the major outcome of WW2 was to make the world safe for Communism. How pointless that we fight a war to save Europe from a horrible dictator, only to replace him with another horrible dictator.

And, look how “great” it turned out in the Far East. Even after WW2 we couldn’t do enough to pave the way for a Communist takeover of China.

As to being “talked into” the war, “all” it took was the bombing of Pearl, an act that was pretty much set up by FDR, who was dying to get us into the conflict. I suppose that those who were young during WW1 could see WW2 as a more justifiable enterprise. As far as I’m concerned, both of them were tragic wastes of lives and treasure.

And, both were instigated by feckless, traitorous (and racist) presidents. Read up some time on Wilson and FDR. You might learn about these two miscreants who led us into war. Interestingly, both were also dominated by women.

While Edith Wilson acted as president for several months when Woodrow was incapacitated, lesbo-Commie Eleanor led FDR around the whole time. Before that, it was his mother Sara. Think about the media complicity necessary to hide the logistics needed for a cripple to engage in countless affairs. Heck, think about the STAFF complicity!

No serious historian disputes that he was aware of the “surprise” attack. The last thing Hitler wanted was for us—or Britain for that matter—to be in the war. Besides, if the sole reason it started was that Poland was attacked in 1939, cold comfort indeed that Poland ended up under the thumb of another dictator by the end.

Not sure why the Soviets being out of the War until 1941 is relevant. FDR’s administration was riddled with Soviet agents all through the 1930s and 40s. And, Stalin did a real good job of making up for lost time, killing millions of Germans—not to mention more than 20 million of his own.

The prevailing mood in the early 1950s in the US was one of extreme unease. We had won the war, but lost the peace. The jingoism connected with WW2 is easy enough to explain: Post-war, with tens of thousands of American casualties—not to mention unleashing the Soviets—We couldn’t very well have suggested that the entire enterprise was pointless, now, could we?

I was a child in the 1950s, and not a day went by when we were not reminded about the great and glorious WW2. I think they protested too much…

Red Ryder on March 6, 2013 at 6:25 pm

The “Clean Team”? Gimme a f**kin break! Who’s going to investigate them? All those Internal Affairs, OIG, et al pukes are disgruntled losers who couldn’t hack it in their respective agencies or got slammed with poor annual ratings because they couldn’t do the job. So they sign on with the rat squad so they can get back at the hard working folks who mind their own business, do their jobs, and don’t drink the kool aid.

But you like strong leadership with sharp teeth don’t you Red Ryder Hood?

Frankz on March 6, 2013 at 3:35 pm

    @Frankz–

You might recall that Stalin was our ally, sunshine, and he would have defeated Hitler quite nicely without our help. That’s pretty much what happened, anyway.

How that is some sort of argument in favor of our being in WW2 escapes me.

Red Ryder on March 6, 2013 at 6:30 pm

RR, I am generally impressed by your unusual arguments. Not this time, though. First, WW2 created conditions that led to the preeminent place of the US. One can’t look fondly at the 50s overall (and many, perhaps most, here do) without appreciating how it came about. Second, despite your claim to the contrary, we cannot be sure that the USSR would have defeated Hitler without US involvement. Third, if the USSR had indeed defeated Hitler, there is no reason to believe that it would have been satisfied with “only” Eastern Europe. In that situation, I hardly think the US would have interfered if the US had not been involved during the war. You would have had a Communist Europe AND Asia. In addition, gaining Japan as an ally has been very important.

On a more personal note, say goodbye to the one-third or so of European Jews who managed to survive the Holocaust.

I also can’t imagine what would have happened if the US had not retaliated with full-fledged war against Japan for the bombing of Pearl Harbor. You think the Japanese would have been less tenacious than the Muslims?

The US made many, many mistakes, and FDR made almost nothing but mistakes. But I find your reasoning regarding WW2 dubious.

skzion on March 6, 2013 at 7:06 pm

        @skzion-

You have to go back before we entered the war, and then judge the results on a cost/benefit basis.

No doubt, the US became even more pre-eminent in the aftermath, but so did the Soviets. Since Stalin was willing to sacrifice as many as it took, I am confident that he would have defeated Hitler—if for no reason other than attrition. Thus, the Soviets would have been much weaker at the end. Why did we help them?

If we fought the war to save Jews, then I think we failed miserably.

As to not retaliating for Pearl, that is classic begging the question. Absent the oil embargo of Japan and other sanctions, Pearl would not have been attacked.

As to a Communist Europe and Asia—uh, that’s what we *did* get after WW2.

As to fond memories of the 1950s–think again. Nothing more than the roaring 20s, minus lots of the fun, and BTW had its own recessions, as well.

Next you’ll be telling me that the War Between the States was as good idea, also.

Red Ryder on March 7, 2013 at 8:35 am

      Red Ryder,

Where do you get that idea? Without US help, especially our being in the war, Britain would have stood alone against the Nazis, and at best would have had to sue for peace and exit the war.

Hitler then would have been able to concentrate virtually all his resources against the USSR.He also would have access to all the Mideast oil he wanted and Germany’s factories would have spared the terrible damage from all those Allied air strikes. Even with Hitler fighting a 2 front war, and the luck of bad weather and Hitler blunders, the Soviets eked out a long and hard fought victory.

Frankz on March 6, 2013 at 6:15 pm

Debbie, this is a great scoop. Brava!

skzion on March 6, 2013 at 7:07 pm

Red Ryder,

You make outrageous claims, and when called on them you either don’t respond or you try to shift your ground.

Of course I can argue against your “major outcome” theory.

First, Western Europe, and probably Western Civilization itself was saved. The future prospects for the US with the rest of the world taken over by Nazis or Communists would have been dubious to say the least.

As Skzion pointed out, virtually ALL the Jews of Europe and maybe eventually in the US would have been murdered.

As Churchill so aptly put it, the world would have truly entered a dark age.

Again, you refuse to answer my question as to who talked the US into going to war.

Funny thing that all those commies in FDR’s gov’t couldn’t change his mind about getting the US involved in the war, because as I pointed out, the commies were isolationist and were opposed to any US involvement in the war. FDR on the other hand, wanted to do everything he could to help Britain and ultimately he wanted the US in the war.

All wars result in tragic loss of lives.

Woodrow Wilson was racist, but there’s no evidence that FDR was particularly racist compared to most Americans.

Wilson wife’s dominance didn’t occur until after the war ended in 1919 and Wilson’s stroke.

Eleanor, who was certainly an activist First Lady who was respected by FDR did not always get her way. Perhaps her greatest cause at the time was civil rights for blacks, which despite her supposed influence with FDR he did very little for that cause.

The last thing Hitler wanted was for the US to get into the war? Well he shouldn’t have to declared war on the US.

You’re not sure why Soviet involvement is relevant? You claim Soviet agents were in FDR’s gov’t, yet as I pointed the American commies were isolationists – the opposite of FDR who was publicly and covertly helping Britain.

FDR and Truman made some postwar mistakes, but as far as Eastern Europe was concerned, their hands were tied. The American people in no way shape or form would have tolerated the US going to war with the USSR in 1945, and it would have taken until 1946 for the US to build enough a-bombs to either threaten or actually use to defeat the USSR, and just imagine a president having to make a decision to start dropping abombs on Russia and killing hundreds of thousands or even millions.

Scott on March 6, 2013 at 8:15 pm

All of this discussion of the Nazis and the Communists lacks any historical foundation. The reality was–and is–that there’s not much difference between the two. Both believe in exactly the same thing: blind obediance to the State, oppression, and the abrogation of rights and liberty–and wholesale murders are an essential part of the modus operandi.

First of all, if you have ever really studied the history of Communism, you would know that the Soviet Union–as a technological nation–was created entirely by the West. So Red Ryder is half-right.

But Red Ryder is also half wrong–and on the most important part. He doesn’t ask just who was it that built the Soviet Union’s factories of war?

So I will tell you. Why, the Ford Motor Company. That’s right, Communism could not possibly have been the threat that it became without the full backing of Henry Ford. As a primer about this reality, I would suggest that you read the seminal works addresssing this specific issues: “Western Technology and Soviet Economic Development: 1917–1930” (1968) and “National Suicide: Military Aid to the Soviet Union” (1973).

Now, at the same time that Henry Ford was busy building up the Soviet Union, he was awarded the Iron Cross by his good friend and admirer, Adolph Hitler. Now, why would Hitler consider someone who was not only aiding Communism, but actively building into a threat against the West, a good friend? Because there is no fundamental difference between Communism and Nazism, and Ford vigorously supported both. (Not uncoincidentally, Ford was also a great Jew-hater, and Jews always will fare poorly under Left/RightWing tyrannies, and thrive where there is some measure of freedom.)

Of course, you could always argue that Henry Ford wasn’t really a man of principles, and that he was just seeking to build his storehouse of personal wealth. Well, there are plenty of ways to make money, and I would argue that Ford was indeed a “principled” man–and his principles were: how can I best help the cause of tyranny and oppression?

Ralph Adamo on March 6, 2013 at 10:11 pm

      @Ralph Adamo–

Good comments, although not sure how I was “half-wrong” since I did not bring up Henry Ford thing. There were plenty of other things I also did not mention!

    @ Scott–

    No outrageous claims.

Western civilization was saved? Tell that to the millions under Soviet domination.

At the risk of repeating myself, the American people were gullible, and “all” that was needed was Pearl as a casus belli.

As to helping Britain, fair enough, but how many American lives was that worth, and why didn’t Britain just stay neutral? If they were trying to save Poland…they failed, right? BTW, what was *our* dog in the fight?

We helped France, too. That worked out well. Some ally.

Regarding the Commies being isolationists, what nonsense! Comintern would do whatever Uncle Joe said, and for an isolationist, he sure was busy, wasn’t he? Would an isolationist have signed a pact with Germany?

Eleanor was so “respected” by FDR that he cheated on her constantly. You’re right. He didn’t let her get her way re Blacks, but he agreed with her on Jews. End results–both groups got screwed but they still loved that scumbag. Go figure.

Oh yeah…Eleanor cheated on FDR also, sometimes with men–mostly with other women. In fact on the night before his first inauguration, she spent it with her lesbo journalist girlfriend Lorena Hickok the Mayflower Hotel.

Think about the media complicity in covering that up.

As to Wilson, he was also a scumbag, and besides lying about keeping us out of WW1, did his best to make life miserable for Blacks. Search me why this POS is highly regarded by liberal historians.

Maybe FDR channeled him–in promising to keep us out of the war, also.

No defense is possible for FDR or Wilson, two execrable human beings who regrettably were also president.

As to Hitler not wanting us in the war. He didn’t. Why would he? BUT–once we were in, declared war on us.

Suggest you learn some history—and try thinking for yourself. Enough with the propaganda.

Red Ryder on March 7, 2013 at 9:03 am

      Red Ryder,

Instead of telling me to think for myself, you ought to stop borrowing ideas and talking points from Pat Buchanan.

Your points are outrageous, such as things would be better if the US stayed out of the war, we fought to make the world safe for communism, unnamed entities who you can’t or won’t identify “talked” FDR into going to war, etc.

Any lives lost in war is too many, but in helping Britain, which in turn saved Western Europe and probably Western Civilization itself as I stated earlier, the cause was just.

Whether or nor you believe Britain should have stayed neutral is water under the bridge. They weren’t, and the US had to decide its policy on that basis of that fact.

Britain and France’s failure to save Poland is again not related to the US entry into the war. It was well in the past by Pearl Harbor.

Why don’t you introduce the debate over the Treaty of Versailles to bolster your argument as well. It’s about as irrelevant to the debate of US entry as the other 2 points you made.

The American commies(including some Jews) were by and large isolationists from 1939 until June of 1941. And some actually supported Stalin’s temporary “ally” Hitler over Britain. Of course plenty of non-commie anti-Semitic American isolationists
      also supported Hitler over Britain.

And forget your laughable straw man attempt calling Stalin an isolationist.

FDR and Eleanor did respect each other. They had a platonic marriage in which sex occurred outside their marriage but they had a close friendship type of relationship.

Wilson and FDR certainly had their faults, but your hatred of them and calling them execrable is irrational, and your concerns with their racism is disingenuous to say the least.

The media was complicit in covering up possible extra-curricular sexual activity of other presidents as well such Warren G Harding and JFK among others. Eleanor’s alleged sexual orientation is irrelevant to this topic anyway.

Wilson was a mixed bag, and any admiration liberals may hold for him is related to his “progressive” side.

Don’t repeat yourself on Hitler not wanting the US in the war. He declared war on us, and he had little regard for our military strength. He didn’t have to declare war on us. His generals certainly didn’t want him to. So whatever hope Hitler allegedly had to avoid war with the US, it certainly was pretty weak to say the least.

As tragic as the situation is, it is worse over at ICE. ICE has even lower hiring standards than CBP. CBP requires a minimum of a HS degree (college degree preferred), requires that its applicants to pass a pre-employment exam, and pass an arduous physical battery. ICE does not even require a HS degree, for most people there is no pre-employment testing, and has no physical standards (ICE uses the hiring standards of INS as it was modeled on that agency).

ICE Detroit has had similar problems. Roy Bailey and his girlfriend, Sandra Todaro, both ICE employees, both corrupt. Bailey was the bigger violator, but Todaro lived with him and there would have been no way that she would not be aware of his corruption. Bailey was eventually prosecuted, but Todaro is reportedly still employed by ICE. My guess is that Odeh will receive the same treatment as Todaro—nothing but a slap on the wrist.

Look, in refusing to play dishonest political games, Debbie has made lots of “conservative” enemies. She can actually speak here exactly as she wishes; I doubt she could on TV.

It’s also not like Debbie is invisible; her writing here has had a demonstrable effect.

What we really need is the development of narrowly targeted conservative non-violent direct action groups.

    Skzion,

Debbie could certainly go on TV. She has many times in the past. Check out Youtube. There’s a bunch of videos of Debbie on various talking heads shows.

In my opinion, posting on this site alone is not enough. Debbie needs to go on TV and radio and rattle some cages. When people see this, they’ll demand action.

Scott on March 6, 2013 at 9:19 pm

Red Ryder,

Of course extra exposure would help for the reasons I’ve already stated.

This is no way comparable to Joe McCarthy. His charges were very broad in scope and recklessly done. He threw so much mud that some was bound to stick, but he was also forced on numerous occasions to back track, revise, or “clarify” his accusations.

Also, there was no 24 hour news stations, Internet, or instant communication that we have now.

Debbie or any other reporter has the above tools to show documents and name who’s doing what and which politician is complicit.

Politicians main goal is to keep their jobs, and since both parties have numerous pols corrupted by this, Obama’s reelection would not prevent most Americans from being outraged by these exposes and would demand that not only those illicit relationships be severed, they would most likely also demand serious LEGAL immigration reform to keep bad actors such as these from being welcomed here.

Scott on March 6, 2013 at 9:05 pm

Joe McCarthy was right on target, and we need someone like him now. If you have any doubts, please read Blacklisted by History by M. Stanton Evans, a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Yale, who, as a sequel, explained how FDR, with the help of his wife, and prompted and instigated by the Communists, gave away Eastern Europe and China as a result of World War II.

It didn’t have to be that way, but FDR was sick, and even leaving aside his sickness, he passively let the Communists dominate domestic and foreign policy during virtually his entire term in office, except for the two years of the Hitler-Stalin pact. And even then, secret Communists such as Hiss, Pressman and others, had immense influence.

Yes, we were right to enter World War II, but we could have done so without letting the Soviet Union (sic) get away with murder, literally and figuratively during the whole time of the War.

Little Al on March 6, 2013 at 10:45 pm

On the debate that is taking place on this thread on whether or not we were correct to enter WWII in reference to both Communism generally and the Soviet Union (sic) in particular, I think that Little Al has it exactly correct:

“Yes, we were right to enter World War II, but we could have done so without letting the Soviet Union (sic) get away with murder, literally and figuratively during the whole time of the War.”

      Amen!

JeffE on March 6, 2013 at 11:35 pm

      Little Al,

Before I address your point on McCarthy, yours and Stanton’s point about giving away Eastern Europe is bunk.

The Soviets had millions of troops in Eastern Europe by the time the war ended. The only way to change that was war, which the American people would never have tolerated, or dropping atomic bombs on the USSR. So with those 2 very unpleasant options, we simply acknowledged a very unpleasant reality. We didn’t give anything away because we didn’t have it to give.

China, while a less hopeless situation than Eastern Europe was nevertheless another where US military involvement (at the very least Air Force and probably Navy) would have been a minimum requirement to have any chance to stop the Reds, and most likely it would have been a bloody terrible quagmire for the US. While more removed timewise than Eastern Europe, the American people wouldn’t support it. And that’s also assuming the Soviets would sit by and not come to the aid of the Mao.

We never need a lying demagogue fraud like Tailgunner Joe McCarthy, who for the sake of his own glory and ego ran wild, making charges of conspiracy against many people and institutions of the gov’t that he had no idea or concern whether or not they were true. Sure, some were true, but he accused so many people, he was bound to get some. Even J Edgar Hoover came to view McCarthy as a problem.

He frequently revised his “facts” when errors were pointed out.

And Tailgunner lied about his war record as well.

Scott on March 6, 2013 at 11:53 pm

Scott, you have no idea what Stanton even said, and I’m sure you never read his book.

But for the benefit of others, since they may believe the Commie canards you are mouthing, the betrayal of Eastern Europe was progressive, stemming back to the inception of World War II, and allowing the Soviet Union (sic) to fight on only one front for the entire war. The U.S. let them get away, throughout the entire war without fighting Japan, except for five days. We could have bargained with them — no Lend Lease unless they agreed to fight Japan. If this had been done, they would have proceeded much more slowly into Eastern and Central Europe. Even under actual conditions, Eisenhower could have taken Czechoslovakia, and not relied on Stalin’s lies about Poland, well before Yalta.

And if FDR and others in the Government hadn’t spread lies about Stalin for four years, the fact of our having exclusive use of the atomic bomb would have forced him to back off. But after four years of miseducation about Stalin, the US had no choice but to go along with what he was doing. The American people had thought he was a great guy, and it would take a few years to erase that impression. So, America would have indeed tolerated an attack on Russia absent four prior years of indoctrination.

China? The Communists and their friends, Currie, Service, a stooge like Stilwell, and the rest of them actually created the impression that Mao was the one fighting the Japanese, when, actually, he stood aside and let them and Chiang fight each other. And the Communists and their friends, again, Currie, Vincent, Clubb, Lattimore, and the rest of them effectively curtailed all military and economic aid to Chiang.

They also managed to get Hurley expelled from China. With all his faults, Hurley had a correct conception of what the Commies were doing in China, but the Commies and their allies in the US Government effectively discredited him.

And of course the Commies pushed the United Nations, one of the biggest scams in history. FDR justified not getting tough with Stalin because he was afraid it would jeopardize formation of the UN. What a crock!

Like most hacks, you have not recited one specific statement by McCarthy that was a lie. I really didn’t want to waste the time writing this, but I was concerned about the reaction of other readers. But Joe was right on target, going after the Commies in the State Department, and all the rest of them who were infesting the Government.

We need someone like him now, as I have said many times — if we had someone like that, there would be a powerful senator advancing the same arguments that Debbie is doing, but with the power of the Government behind him, and the hold of the Muslims would be weakened.

The Venona papers supported McCarthy’s charges, and remember that only a small fraction of them were decoded. The depths of the Commie conspiracy in Government exceeded what became known, because only a small of Communist correspondence became known.

Are you aware that throughout the war, Roosevelt sought to ingratiate himself with Stalin at the expense of Churchill? Things didn’t have to get to the point where the Commies had millions of troops in Eastern Europe, and remember that the provisions of Yalta re the Far East were not even made public.

The US Government always said Chiang and Mao should work together. The misguided nature of what the US was doing can be seen by what is going on re the Government’s posture towards the Arab Spring [sic] today.

          Excellent points, as always.

Red Ryder on March 7, 2013 at 8:39 am

          Little Al,

I haven’t read Evan’s book, and I don’t have any particular interest in his views.

What if Stalin called our bluff and refused our bargain, then what? He could simply and credibly tell FDR there’s no way he can possibly divert military resources to Japan in anywhere near enough quantity to be of help to the US while Germany is on the march to Moscow. If we carry out our threat, Germany would most likely defeat the USSR. Most likely he would “promise” to send help “later”, and not wanting to tip the balance to Germany, we would have to accept his promise.

Even with Pearl Harbor, the primary focus of the US was and should have been the defeat of Hitler. There’s no way we were going to jeopardize that by risking German victory over the USSR.

You overlook the action/reaction effect of “slowing down” the Russians. By hampering the Soviets, you bolster the Germans, which means not only a better chance to beat Russia, it also means they could divert more resources to the African and Western fronts.

What evidence does Stanton have that Eisenhower “relied” on Stalin’s lies? That’s a very serious charge, and let’s see him prove it. It certainly would have been a good thing if we had saved Czechoslovakia, and our failure to “cross the Elbe River” remains controversial to this day.

The problem with the John Birch, and from what you paraphrase the Stanton conspiracy types is that mistakes are seldom ever mistakes, they’re actually the machinations of a conspiracy.

Your point about FDR and gov’t lies concerning Stalin and the atomic bomb is absurd. Who was being lied to? The American people? Well the lies didn’t work, because by 1946/1947, the American honeymoon with the USSR was over. The Berlin blockade in 1948(despite our nuclear monopoly) cemented the American people’s turning against Stalin.

And despite a post war red scare and anti-communist fervor among the American people, it’s hard to imagine the vast majority of American people would support dropping atomic bombs on the USSR and killing hundreds of thousands or even millions of Soviet civilians in order to free the Iron Curtain from communism.

Stalin, of course was shrew enough to realize that.

As I stated in another post, American military involvement in China and the resultant guerrilla warfare (and likely Soviet involvement) quagmire would have been required to prop up Chiang’s unpopular regime.

McCarthy started his political career with a lie – about his military record. If a Democrat had done that, you’d be all over him.

You tell me, did McCarthy ever screw up by mistakenly naming an innocent person, or did he get every accusation correct? Did he ever exagerate his claims ever?

Actually, you’ve got it backward. It was Stalin who used flattery to appeal to FDR’s ego in order to drive wedge between FDR and Churchill, who was far more skeptical of Stalin and the USSR.

What happened to the Morgenthau plan? With all the power the communists had in FDR’s gov’t why wasn’t his plan implimented?

RE: “Yes, we were right to enter World War II, but we could have done so without letting the Soviet Union (sic) get away with murder, literally and figuratively during the whole time of the War.

That’s a great hypothetical, but considering that FDR was in charge, it worked out EXACTLY as one could have predicted. FDR couldn’t do enough for Stalin.

Here’s another hypothetical: If Tommy Wilson were never president, there may not have ever been a WW2. OR…

If Lincoln hadn’t have been president, there might not have been a Civil War.

THAT is what annoyed me. You have been here long enough not only to know the subject at hand (in more than a peripatetic way) but the expertise of the author at hand as well.

Your question is STILL dumb. It’s dumb because you should know better and dumb because you know waaaaaaaay less than the author.

THAT is my main point. You do not know what you are talking about so before you can call an expert out you should be able to speak about something with some semblance of expertise. You don’t have any on the subject at hand.

I smell an ulterior motive but I am not sure why. I am used to your nonsense on “feminist” issues but was surprised you’d question the number of Jihadis in the Gubmint. Do some research on it before you question it.

Excellent scoop, Debbie.

JeffE on March 6, 2013 at 11:36 pm

And Scott, I don’t know whether you are a fool or a Commie, or both, but are you aware that due to Communist influence, the most capable diplomats the US had were excluded from Yalta? Joseph Grew was the prime example, but there were others. You had a Secretary of State, Stettinius, who didn’t know what he was doing — he was new and callow, and over his head.

Furthermore, his papers show that the influence of Hiss was pervasive and far-reaching, both before and during Yalta. Hopkins stood with the Communists, and next to FDR was the most influential person in Government throughout World War II. If you don’t think this paved the way for the loss of Eastern Europe and China you are a fool.

And the Morgenthau plan, which would have paved the way for Russia to storm all the way to the Atlantic, was the brainchild of the influential Communist, Harry Dexter White, who, in effect, ran the Treasury Department, just as Hopkins, in effect, ran State.

And you think McCarthy exaggerated???

Little Al on March 7, 2013 at 1:15 am

And to enlarge on my analogy, look at the way Michele Bachmann is treated by both parties — she is ostracized, and both parties collaborated in trying to defeat her last November. All that for a few statements about combating Muslim influence in the Government, and a few weak statements about the bipartisan floundering about the Arab Spring.

This is what happened during World War II. The floundering today about the Arab Spring was comparable to the floundering at that time about China, Russia and Eastern Europe, and those who told the truth at that time were ostracized.

And Communist influence in the Government at that time can be imagined by looking at the Muslim influence today, and the politically correct consequences visited upon those who challenge the Muslim dominance over foreign policy and social policy in the US today.

How could this occur and not affect the welfare of Eastern Europe and China? And the Commies created ‘trapdoors’ to use Evan’s description (Scott, you couldn’t even get his last name right, fool that you are — Stanton is his first name and Evans is his last name), just as Odeh is doing today.

How can you express any opinion about him when you can’t even get his last name right?

Skunky on March 7, 2013 at 12:04 pm

While there are many similarities between Communism and Fascism, including their totalitarian aspects, there are also differences. One crucial difference stems from their origins, and helps explain Communism’s appeal, to this day, in the West.

Communism arose from the 18th Century Enlightenment (sic), the idea of equality, shedding off of historical ‘obstacles’ such as religion, and national boundaries. Fascism had its origins in a reaction to the Enlightenment, from the primarily French and German ‘thinkers’ of the 19th century who opposed against the Enlightenment, both its good and its bad aspects.

Because of its historical post-Enlightment ‘evolution’ Communism became linked in the ‘minds’ of many with historical progress, and the Communists in the West were immeasurably aided by the fear of Fascism (appropriate in and of itself), and the belief that Russia was the only country capable of fighting fascism, the reaction against the ‘open-mindedness’ of the Enlightenment.

This miseducation of the 30s basically survived the Hitler-Stalin pact, and after Germany attacked Russia, Stalin was able to convince many that Russia had needed the two years to prepare its fight against Germany.

Unlike the fascists, the Communists had established working alliances, by and large, with the leaders of this country, and had influenced the course of the New Deal, and the ill-conceived honeymoon with the Soviet Union (sic) stemming from the 1933 recognition of that country.

Russia and Communism were linked with progress and those who disagreed were frozen out of the Government, or relegated to second-rate positions. The fact that many anti-Communists were anti-semitic and anti-black also helped give credibility to Communism. Communism’s credibility was also enhanced by the horror of war, stemming in part from World War I. Russia had pulled out of the war after the Bolshevik Revolution, which helped it preserve its image of a peaceful, progressive country, never mind the murder of millions of Ukrainians and the purges of the 30s responsible for the death of another million. And the transcendence of national boundaries, of course, only worked one way: Russia didn’t need to transcend these boundaries because it was the Land of Socialism, but other countries ‘rose’ to progressive internationalism by supporting the new Russia. Remember the Enlightenment’s supposed overcoming of national boundaries.

So the context of World War II needs to be looked at in terms of these origins and this evolution. The alliance with, and miseducation about the Soviet Union were the result of years of indoctrination, a little at a time. What is going on with the Muslims gives us an idea of what took place then, and, as an aside, look at how Mubarek is being portrayed today. An anti-democratic tyrant — that is probably how he will be remembered, and the misducation regarding him is similar to the villification of Chiang over the years. Both were victims sacrificed to totalitarianism with the willingness of this country’s ‘elite’.

Little Al on March 7, 2013 at 10:26 am

Guys, we’re all here for the same reason. Lets not get over excited about a non issue.

Yes, I know I’m guilty too 😐

Frankz on March 7, 2013 at 2:47 pm

If Stalin had called the bluff he would have been overthrown. It came close when he retreated for two weeks after the Soviet Union was attacked. When they came from Moscow to get him, he initially thought he was being arrested. The country would have fought Germany with or without Stalin. And remember that by late 1943 when many of these discussions could have taken place, it was clear that Germany was going to be defeated.

Remember, it was Japan that attacked us. Do you really think the US could realistically have focused solely on Hitler?

Slowing down the Russians doesn’t automatically translate into more Germans available for other campaigns. The fact that progress was being made by them in the first place automatically involves the Germans. Remember Hitler’s historical hatred for Communism. Next to killing Jews, this was his foremost objective, and you forget his pathological anti-semitism. Not too many Jews in Africa.

Re Czechoslovakia, the US (not only Eisenhower) was enamored of Russia’s participation in the UN. Not going in indicates a belief that the country would have been administered fairly. Remember the surprise of the West during the coup of February, 1948. This behavior was not expected, and was a major precipitant of the Cold War. It was not expected because of the widespread belief that democracy, such as it was would continue there. If there was surprise at the attack in 1948, imagine the expectations in 1944.

McCarthy’s embellishment of his military record in no way invalidates his charges. The problem was not smearing innocents, but not identifying enough of the guilty. And remember, his Judgeship exempted him from military service, but he nevertheless enlisted. Would the creeps of the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and today have done this?

You forget that the ‘innocent’ rank-and-file got in trouble because they refused to take loyalty oaths. Why in the world would anyone be entitled to a Government job if they won’t swear loyalty to our Government?

Again, name one innocent person. You waited more than a day to answer me. During that time, you undoubtedly did countless internet searches trying to come up with an innocent, and you clearly failed.

And you forget FDR’s opposition to British colonialism, and his fear that colonialism would interfere with the wonderful United Nations. And you can’t flatter someone who doesn’t want to be flattered. Do you think totalitarians could have flattered Thatcher?

And fool that you are, elements of the Morgenthau plan were indeed enacted, and not abandoned until well after FDR’s death, when the Cold War was in high gear, more than a year after the Fulton Speech.

I don’t expect you to read Evan’s book. You are a liberal, and don’t want to take a chance on seeing your beliefs challenged. But as I have said here many times, his authoritative book on McCarthy, and current book on Communist influence on the World War II US Government should be widely read. If you were to bother reading the McCarthy book you would see that the main problem was that we didn’t go far enough in cleansing our country of Communists.

One example, Earl Browder, a leading practitioner of Soviet espionage was, of all things, released from jail during World War II, so he could continue carrying on his espionage.

Your comments are disgraceful. You shouldn’t have watched Oliver Stone’s canards.

Little Al on March 8, 2013 at 2:56 am

And what exactly is a ‘Stanton conspiracy type’? Since you never read the book (and again, Stanton is his first name)or heard of him until two days ago, I would be interested in your definition, so I can compare it with what is in the book.

Little Al on March 8, 2013 at 7:45 am

And Scott’s use of the expression ‘Stanton Conspiracy Type’ tells us that he rejects all the massive evidence of Communist infiltration of our Government during the 30s and 40s. Not surprising for a liberal, considering that our current leaders have worked for Communist law organizations, organized and participated in demonstrations against our government in time of war, and have had terrorist mentors, and preachers who were reprehensible anti-Semites.
