Meet Miss Israel Yityish Aynaw – So Much for “Jewish Racism” or “Zionism is Racism”

By Debbie Schlussel

The picture, below, features Yityish Aynaw, the new Miss Israel. An Israeli Jew, she was born in Ethiopia and served in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). In the Miss Israel competition, she said the historical figure who most influenced her is Martin Luther King, Jr. There are many Ethiopian Jews in Israel, and they have the same rights and responsibilities as all other Israeli Jews. The Muslim and anti-Israel claim that Jews are racist or that Zionism is racism is utter BS. How many Black beauty pageant winners do you see coming out of any of the Arab or Muslim countries? Very few if any at all, since Blacks are referred to as “abeed” (Arabic for “slaves” but it’s really the Muslim and Arabic N-word) by Arabs and Muslims.

yityishaynaw

Reader NormanF:

You will never see this in the Arab Islamic World. Israel has much to be proud of, especially in women’s rights and in treating people from all walks of life with decency and respect.

Only in Israel!

Amen.

Exit Question: How many Black Miss Lebanons, Miss Jordans, Miss Saudi Arabias, Miss Egypts, Miss Gazastans, Miss Palestinian Authorities, and Miss Muslim Brohoods have there been?

Just checking.

(You can also ask how many Jews they’ve picked to win their beauty pageants and get the same big fat zero in response. In contrast, Rana Raslan, an Israeli Arab, was a previous Miss Israel.)

It’s nice to see an Israeli model who is not an opportunistic draft dodger like Bar Refaeli.

Little Al on February 28, 2013 at 5:10 pm

And have you noticed the deafening quiet from papers like the Washington Post, which usually has at least one article a day bashing Israel? Not one mention of this incredible woman, and this incredible choice.

For those who have not been to Israel, there are so many Indian Jews, Spanish Jews, Jews from Africa, Jews from Switzerland, Jews from over 130 countries just about everywhere, . We are not a race, we are a rainbow of falafel and Humus eating people who believe in the Torah and the word of G-d.

Jonathan E. Grant on February 28, 2013 at 5:21 pm

You’re right – not one mention in any MSM that I can find in Google.

    DS_ROCKS! on February 28, 2013 at 5:41 pm

    Jon,

Any one who says the Jews are a religion is a certifiable idiot! Religion is a Christian concept. It implies a devotion to the things of Heaven. In contrast, Judaism has all of life under its purview.

It would be more accurate to describe Judaism as a national culture and a civilization. The Jews are a nation and their legislation, language and concepts express a national outlook. The Torah, as given by G-d, is first and foremost the founding charter of a nation.

That is exactly makes every Jew on earth different from a Christian. Catholics may express affection for the Pope but they don’t seek to live in the Vatican City. On the other hand, every Jew seeks to live in the Land Of Israel and to build a Jewish civilization there.

Whatever the differences among Jews, it not as important as their love for Israel and their belief in a shared fate and a common future.

NormanF on February 28, 2013 at 5:56 pm

+1, Norman. And remember, what you just said explains why anti-Zionism is the same thing as anti-Semitism. Judaism was a nationality, not a religion. A nationality denied its nation is being denied its essence. To deny the right of the Jews to their ancestral homeland is in every way anti-Semitism. Tell that to the idiots who claim to be anti-Zionist, but not anti-Semitic.

Phil on March 1, 2013 at 9:24 am

    Jon,

More to the point, the Jews are like Joseph’s famous coat of many colors. They come from every nation on earth and they encompass every race of mankind.

As I already noted, the Jews are a nation and a civilization. Not that they will be respected for being one but they don’t need to defend their choice. They have the right to be who they are and that’s all that matters.

NormanF on February 28, 2013 at 6:12 pm

Oh how wonderfully diverse! Multicult is the true path to enlightenment! All people are exactly the same. What a wonderful fantasy world we live in. The concept of nations having clearly defined borders is obviously absurd. Get rid of all borders so that we can all live together in a culturally enriched environment!

I dont know which Israel you pathetic leftist fools are talking about. Your way of “diversity” leads to death. You better learn that.

diversitysuks on March 1, 2013 at 1:14 pm

Multi-Culti is a problem. Multiple skin colors is not.

If your kid had a neurosurgical problem, you WOULD want a Black guy operating on your kid. Said Black guy is also a Political Conservative and Medical Genius: Ben Carson.

On the other hand, Dennis Kucinich is a white guy, but a Lefty nitwit who does NOT believe in the superiority of Western Civilization.

This young lady has served her country and won her pageant. She is beauty, intelligence, and courage all in one. Unlike Skank Rafaeli.

        Occam's Tool on March 1, 2013 at 11:51 pm

But also at the sametime Jon, not all Israeli people are jewish. Anyway a few weeks ago folks, one of my friends on facebook, who’s from and lives in “Morocco” posted a story of a few corrupt doctors in Israel wanting to do some type of birth control on Ethiopian women in Israel, the guy had the audacity to bash and scrutinize the whole nation of Israel and Israeli people because of those few doctors doing something bigotted and quasi racists like that. To my own credit, I had to correct him and call him out on his ultra flaws in his postings on his page, I told him that in every country on earth, there are corrupted doctors doing stupid stuff, not just Israel and certain nations. I also told him to NOT criticize all of Israel and their people because of a few dumbass doctors wanting Ethiopian women to use birth control pills, etc.!

“A nation is defined by its borders, language & culture!”

Sean R. on February 28, 2013 at 5:46 pm

    Sean R,

There was a story about that in the Israeli media. It turns out Ethiopian Jewish women requested birth control for the time they weren’t in Israel. None of them was forced to take Depra-Provera and the procedure was explained to them. It was an easily reversible procedure. Anti-Semites and Israel haters claim they were sterilized. This is not the truth! But those who hate the Jews and Israel don’t want to look at the facts; they want to harm the Jewish State.

NormanF on February 28, 2013 at 6:04 pm

Sean, the “some kind of birth control” is mandatory Depo-Provera shots for all immigrating Ethiopian women. This is just one more example of the CONTINUING racism against our brown sisters by white Europeans. These shots last for 5 years, during which, the Sisters are required to undergo an Ashkenazi conversion to be come REAL Jews. It’s pathetic and I posted below but I am going to say here that I consider this oohing and aahing over an Ethiopian “Miss Israel” form of racism. The ongoing sexual objectification of the brown skinned female. I will ooh and aah when an Ethiopian woman becomes a Minisiter in the government or a judge on our Supreme Court and it’s only a matter of time. My husband volunteered to teach English to some lawyers who work with the Ethiopian community and there were several sharp women in the organization.

Italkit on March 1, 2013 at 1:37 am

No one doubts some abuses happened. Let’s stipulate they’ll eventually get rectified.

Now about the pageant, I don’t think people were condescending towards the winner. I think every one was genuinely happy for her and she won on her own merits. There was no sexual objectification involved. I think men are intelligent enough to appreciate a beautiful women without treating her like a sex object. Nothing disrespectful went on!

I already mentioned Pnina Tamano-Shata – she’s an Ethiopian female MK. She worked with community organizations and no one thinks she got her new job in the Knesset on affirmative action grounds. In the end, they will all prove their worth. Ethiopian Jews will eventually play a significant role in Israeli Jewish life and my opinion is it won’t take them as long to attain full equality as it took blacks to attain in America.

NormanF on March 1, 2013 at 8:15 am

I can tell you Norman, that we never hear about Pnina here to the extent that I forgot about her. When she gets as much press as Miss Israel, then we’ll have something to cheer about. Stop making excuses. I’m glad you are so open minded but it’s just not the case here. The Depo Provera thing is NOT Isolated. “The Joint” is behind it. The very same Joint which did very little to get Jews out of Poland and even less out of Greece/Turkey during WW2.

Italkit on March 1, 2013 at 9:06 am

The shots last around 3 months, not five years.

Also, I didn’t think the issue was an “Ashkenazi” conversion but an Orthodox one.

In addition, isn’t the point to make sure that these women have the Jewish children they want, hence delaying pregnancy? I find it very plausible that women would defer pregnancy for a fairly brief period to avoid the hassle of having their own children needing an Orthodox conversion.

Italkit, I’m no compulsive admirer of rabbis, but unquestionable Jewish status in Israel sure seems important.

skzion on March 1, 2013 at 9:56 am

Rabbi Ovadiah of Bertinoro saw some Beta Israel in Egypt in the 15th Century. Some of their practices resembled Karaite custom and in others he wrote they followed the rabbis.

In the ninth century when Eldad ha Dani made his round of Jewish communities on the Mediterranean, it was the first time the Jewish World heard of a Jewish kingdom in Africa. This is also mentioned by Benjamin of Tudela.

Then there is the curious fact certain words in the Ethiopian Church are of Hebrew origin – which presupposes very old Jewish roots in the country long before it became Christian in the 4th Century.

The Beta Israel kept the ancient Jewish priesthood and they did not know know of Hanukkah. They do follow all the other Jewish holidays. Which means Judaism was isolated in Africa and cut off from other Jewish streams for centuries. That is now changing in Israel.

NormanF on March 1, 2013 at 11:28 am

Karaites ARE Jews. Fully accepted here. They follow written Torah much more fully than reform or conservative “Jews.”

Italkit on March 2, 2013 at 12:22 pm

        THEY ARE UNQUESTIONABLY JEWS!!!!!!!!!!

And sorry but it is the Ashkis forcing the conversions and according to their nusach.

Italkit on March 2, 2013 at 12:20 pm

I wonder whether some of the commenters allegedly Jewish and living in Israel are really purveyors of Arab disinformation.

Reminds me of the Communists of another day. Whenever you said something good about the United States, they would say: (using the terminology of the day) “but what would the Southern Negro say about that”?

Now the birth control issue. It is being investigated — no verifiable conclusions yet about the existence, scope or sponsorship of it, but that does not stop Italkit’s comments. Do you think there is anything good about Israel? I don’t remember reading anything in your comments.

Dear NormanF…..take comfort in the basic fact that all Israel and Jews haters, and there are millions of them in the USA…can be reborn 100 times, that’s approx. a total life span of 700 years…and still they cannot do anything beyond TALKING!!! My concern is for the life of Jews in the most advanced and “free” countries of all, your country…the size of the country will not protect you forever..you could wake up 1 day alarmed and fearful…as they did in Europe in 1932-1933. Lucky for u, there is a small country that will always be ready to take u in, no Questions asked.

There’s no guarantees in life – except for our faith in G-d.

That said, I expect Israel to be around forever. The Hebrew Bible may have ended at a certain point but the curtain, unlike on so many nations, has not rung down on the Jewish people.

May G-d bless them and keep them!

    Amen, NormanF.

JeffE on February 28, 2013 at 8:09 pm

What do you make of the fact Ethiopian Jews, newly arrived in Israel, got depro provera shots against their will?

Usmc ordie on February 28, 2013 at 7:35 pm

Again, some Ethiopian Jewish women were given birth control shots at their request before they arrived in Israel. No one was deceived or forced to do anything against their will. No woman was sterilized. Keep on spreading lies and slander against Israel! It will take you far in life.

NormanF on February 28, 2013 at 8:14 pm

    Norman,

Only a liar or someone clueless about the Middle East would dispute the fact that Israel is by far the most civilized country in the Middle East. But good as they are, just like the US, they’re not perfect.

Israel did a nice thing by welcoming the Ethiopian Jews to Israel, but unfortunately, there’s been some degree of racism and discrimination against the Ethiopians, and at this point many Ethiopians are in an underclass situation, with the usual things that accompany underclass life such as less education and poverty. There are encouraging signs of much better integration (Miss Israel is an example) of the Ethiopians into Israeli society. Israel benefits from the addition of many beautiful women.

What really sucks is when viciously anti-Semitic, RACIST,and hypocritical Arabs/Muslims try to use the Ethiopian situation as an opportunity to slam the “racist” Zionists.

Scott on February 28, 2013 at 11:42 pm

      Scott,

The Arab Islamic World is a cesspool of intolerance, hatred and violence. As you pointed out, Israel does have its shortcomings but I don’t know of any decent society that’s achieved perfection. Mistakes have been made, sometimes out of good intentions – and when all is said and done, its also true they are also being corrected.

Integrating a people coming from a subsistence economy, with no working knowledge of Hebrew (like with the Beta Israel) and transforming them into equal citizens of a modern developed society was daunting and a massive challenge. I think Israel has been more than equal to the task and the results speak for themselves. Its not enough and there is still a lot to be done.

That said, when it comes to the lot of the Jewish people in Israel, its inarguably better than it has been for centuries. The Arab Islamic World cannot stand the Jews as equals who have succeeded on their own terms. That’s why they will never get anywhere and they have no one like Pnina Tamano-Shata, the first Ethiopian Jewish woman just elected on the Yesh Atid list to the Knesset. In many ways, Israel is a country of firsts and will be continue to be well into the future.

NormanF on March 1, 2013 at 12:21 am

That is a blatant lie, Norman. These women were lied to an coerced. Ethiopian Jews are not sophisticated, urban Jews. They live in villages as Africans. There is a huge class action suit going on regarding this. It is as disgraceful as the medical experimentation conducted on Moroccan women in the 50’s. Eugenics at work.

Italkit on March 1, 2013 at 1:41 am

There’s investigation into other cases underway in Israel.

And if eugenics was the motivation, then of course potential victims will get their day in court.

But I don’t agree with you that Ethiopian women are dumb. If it was done with full disclosure and they wanted it, nothing illegal about it.

The line between appropriate patient care and malpractice isn’t easily resolved. If there’s a coverup, it involves fraud and possibly criminal assault.

In the end, there will be accountability and in a small country like Israel nothing remains a secret for long.

NormanF on March 1, 2013 at 7:39 am

I didn’t say they were dumb, but they don’t know “western” ways and can be lied to. They don’t speak Hebrew when they get here and there are programs to acclimate them to Israeli ways which they are eager to learn. All it takes is telling them that “most” Israeli women use this stuff to control their childbearing and they think it’s ok and safe.

Italkit on March 1, 2013 at 9:12 am

No, you are deluded. It was not at their INFORMED request. They are being coerced. I posted this below, separately but I’m reposting it here.

Hi Debbie Doodle. Can I call you that?

A1 on February 28, 2013 at 9:36 pm

Not disputing what you say, Debbie but sometime in the distant past I had the pleasure of being friends with a young woman – a Jew – who when she lived in Morocco, had been crowned Miss Morocco. She and her family had moved to Israel when I met her. Things presumably changed – but there was a time in at least one Arab country when Jews were treated as human beings.

Shalom (almost) Shabat

Nir Leiu on February 28, 2013 at 10:50 pm

The anglo version of her name approximated to ‘Maggie’.

Nir Leiu on February 28, 2013 at 10:52 pm

    Nir Leiu,

Actually, things are better for the Jews of Morocco now than they were before 1999. That’s because King Mohammed VI has made a concerted effort to reach out to the Jewish community, and he’s made it a point to denounce anti-Semitism. He personally visited a bombed Jewish community center in Casablanca and condemned the attack.

Ironically, a Jew probably faces a greater risk of attack from a Moroccan in Europe than he does from a Moroccan in Morocco.

Scott on February 28, 2013 at 11:57 pm

With the rise of the Moroccan Islamists to power, the Jews have no real future.

The entire Arab World is entering a new Dark Age. It may be a very a long time before its ready to join the rest of the human race.

Nothing in the Middle East follows the accustomed and linear path of progress to which we are accustomed to in the Western World.

NormanF on March 1, 2013 at 12:29 am

    That is a lie.

There was a massive program against Jews a century ago in Fez and Casablanca. The Arabs were never noted for their kindness towards the Jews.

And since Israel was established in 1948, Morocco’s Jewish community has dwindled to the brink of extinction. Virtually all of the surviving Jews are old and the ancient mellahs – the ghettos of Morocco are no more.

NormanF on March 1, 2013 at 12:25 am

Don’t kid yourselves. The younger Ethiopians are making strides but there’s still a lot to be done, The less beautiful ones still struggle with basic things like being allowed to board buses and yes, we’ve seen it first hand.
Anyway, she’s beautiful but since when is the ideal of Jewish womanhood been to flaunt one’s body in front of the world, immodestly dressed? Women who succeed by the use of their bodies have a name. I am very sorry for this young woman actually. She’s going to be what? The Black Bar Rafaeli? She’s not doing her people any good either. Ethiopian and other Black Jewish women are constantly hit on by the white eyes. It’s true for Sephardic women as well because it’s always assumed that darker women are easier. This is one of the big excuses the Ashkenazim ban Sephardi girls from their schools, they’re assumed to be less modest and less moral.

Italkit on March 1, 2013 at 1:30 am

You’re making assumptions about others’ perception of dark-skinned Jews. To be sure, prejudice and racism in Israel exists against Sephardim and Ethiopians. Its human nature not to look favorably on someone who looks and acts different from you. Its natural to fear the other.

In part, anti-Semitism is the same. I think its easier to treat in a multi-cultural country like Israel where Jews come from many different backgrounds. The other thing I want to address is no I don’t think dark-skinned women are loose or they have don’t have good morals. Maybe racists think beautiful women of color are exotic but most people, including myself, believe they should be treated with decency and respect.

I’m not speaking for every one by any means but no matter where we live, people should be judged not by their appearance but by the content of their character. And I might add I am sure Yityish Aynaw was chosen by the judges for more than just her looks and I haven’t encountered any derogatory views about her yet. Hope springs eternal.

NormanF on March 1, 2013 at 7:56 am

Norman, I don’t have to make assumptions. This has been my life for over 50 years. It’s not just being “exotic.” There is a perception that Latinas, Italians, Africans and other dark skinned women are freer sexually. I have had to deal with this frequently and I see it happening to my friends and neighbors. I don’t live among Anglos here. I ride the buses, don’t have a car and I am an observer of the passing scene. I know what goes on.

Italkit on March 1, 2013 at 9:02 am

Italkit: You make a lot of generalized charges against caucasion Israelis. Is there prejudice and mistrust between various communities of Jews in Israel? Yes, some, and I dare you to find any society, of any religion, anywhere in the world where none exists. Fear of the “other” is nothing new to the human condition. I do not live in Israel, but I visit often, have a lot of family there, and I have yet to witness any of the things you are accusing Israelis of. A family member employs Ethiopian men in his business. They are treated well, and I danced with them at a family wedding recently. My Ashkenazi grandchildren attend a Hareidi school with Sfardic teachers. I could go on, but you are painting a false picture of reality by exaggerating a few anecdotal experiences. Many Israelis, religious and secular, have fought hard to prevent the kind of treatment many Jewish immigrants from Arab lands received at the hands of the European Israelis in the early years of the State. Is there controversy? Sure. But your posts seem to show that you have an agenda to paint modern Israel as some sort of Jim Crow society. That’s just not true.

Phil on March 1, 2013 at 9:42 am

Debbie, do the Muslims even have beauty pageants in the first place? There isn’t much of a way to win such an event if one is in a black klanswear from head to toe, although the Saudis tried it w/ ‘morality questions’.

The ‘Zionism is Racism’ is one more projection practiced by the Muslims. Mohammed himself is on record as saying that the Arabs are the best of people, particularly the ones living in the peninsula (which is why al Qaeda previously had a rule that only peninsula Arabs could be the supreme leader, although after Osama’s death, they had to waive that since most of their peninsular leadership was gone as well), only prayers in Arabic are legit, as are qurans in Arabic. And throughout the Arab empire, you have Arabs at the throats of Kurds, Druze, Berbers, Nubians and so on. Converting to Islam didn’t win these peoples the respect of the Arabs, since the only people the Arabs respect (more precisely fear) are those who can squash them. Hopefully, S Sudan, as a newly independent country, can get all its Muslims out, and help Sudanese non-Muslims recover from the years of persecution by the Sudanese Islamic regime

Anti-semitism seems to surface in every post now. Debbie says something good about Israel, and is flooded with comments of varying vitriol denouncing Israel, downplaying or contradicting anything positive, and ‘explaining’ how racist Israel is. Would some of these people want to move to Egypt or Iran?

Like we always said to the Commies, if you hate this country so much, no one is forcing you to stay here.

Little Al on March 1, 2013 at 11:34 am

Not only is this young woman very pretty (wowsers!) but she seems to know what it means to do your duty for your country. Unlike that skank Bar Refaeli who while not bad looking is nothing compared to Ms Aynaw both inside and out. May she continue to have success in life.

Ken b on March 1, 2013 at 11:40 am

That story of the “forced sterilizations” was promoted by the left-wing Ha’aretz paper (naturally) but has since been discredited. Never happened.

Infidel asks if Muslims even have beauty pageants. Well, a few years ago a pageant was to be held, if I recall correctly, in Nigeria. (The country is roughly half-Muslim.) Local Muslims rioted over the prospect of such “sacrilege”, with many injured.

As to having “one more reason to visit Israel”, you’ll never meet this one. But one great thing about Israel is how many attractive women one meets as a matter of course (probably the result of the genetic mixing of Jews from disparate lands). On my last trip in ’08, I and a few friends went to a Jerusalem eatery one Saturday evening. And our waitress was a young woman so stunning all I could think was “Oh my gawwwd!” Oh, to be a younger man again.

Raymond in DC on March 1, 2013 at 11:59 am

Not discredited yet, Ray. It’s going before the Court. Since it was the government that did this, I see no reason for Ha’aretz to lie in this case. As Lefties, they should welcome the eugenic policy.

I have no problem that an Ethiopian woman was chosen Miss Israel, but if anyone thinks that a Black Jew such as myself can sit down at a Shabbat or Yom Tov table and not be asked for my “story”,and just be accepted as any other Jew,you are living in a dream world.

Italkit knows of what she speaks.Take my word for it!

YH’s comment reminds me a little of the subjective perceptions of Black people in the US. If you ask them, they will overwhelmingly say that the US is racist, all kinds of conspiracies exist — this in spite of a Black President, decades of affirmative action, ultra-sensitive totalitarian monitoring of the most innocent comments suspected of having a secret racist motive, and so on.

Could it be that the perceptions of some of the commenters parallel this lack of reality?

Could it be that those who have never lived here as Yonah and I do, and some who have only visited for a few weeks once in their lives, have no idea of the realities we live with daily?

” the objectification of non white Jewish women as exotica and therefore are more sexualized in a country that is way too secular and sexualized anyway.”

Good grief, have I mistakenly landed on feminist blog?

Or maybe the blog of some black student union?

sk, there’s feminism and then there’s feminism. There’s the kind as espoused by Bonnie Franklin, Y”S, and her ilk, and then there’s the “Feminism” of Torah. I am proud to proclaim the latter in which a young woman is not exploited for her body but rather is held in highest esteem and encouraged to be discreet, modest and demure. This takes nothing away from the woman in terms of equal treatment at all and should, in fact, elevate her in society’s eyes. There are religious girls in the IDF now and they are given long skirts for uniforms. They wear the same shirts as other soldiers. They are not forced to wear pants and I suppose if married women served, they’d be allowed to cover their heads, either with their berets or an appropriate scarf. This to me is TORAH feminism. I have much more respect for them than I do their dopey sisters who do “national service.” Also, while I think it’s a shame that women HAVE to work to help support the family, even with working husbands, we have a better social safety net than the US. The maternity leave has been extended to 6 mos, there is good, if not perfect day care and grandmothers are usually willing to help. Religous women are becoming doctors, lawyers and MK’s, but they’re doing it according to Torah guidelines. THIS is feminism done right.
Beauty contests are the antithesis of respect for women, regardless of color.

Italkit on March 3, 2013 at 3:35 am

Italkit, if this is Torah feminism, why is there no Torah language in the argument?

In fact, do you really claim that your argument and that of your Facebook friend come from a place of chesid? Or do they come from a place of western racial grievance mongering?

Finally, perhaps Yona should accept the fact that black (NOT African American) Jews are a rarity, and that interest in her might come from a better place than her responses here.

They are not giving single DP shots to these women but are inserting the slow release capsules under their skin. Depending on how many are inserted at one time, they can last up to 5 years.

You also will never see an Arab like this because they want all their women to wear bags ov their legs

I don’t think people say Jews are racist as in colors, but racist in the sense of Judiasm vs. Everyone else. The term racism does not apply here – thats the problem – people have used the wrong term.

When I went to Hebron in 2011 to visit the Tomb of the Patriarchs (Macpehlah) one of the guards at the entrance was an Ethiopian Jewish woman. And one of the guys helping out in the learning room inside was a Jew from India (must have been eastern North-India because his face had some Chinese-like features.

The 2nd generation Ethiopian immigrants serving and graduating from the IDF are some of the most literate and physically fit people I’ve ever seen. Forget beauty pagents! I think there will be a day when an Israeli Jew of Ethiopian ancestry makes it to the big time in American major league sports.

When we returned home from Israel a couple of years ago, there was an Ethiopian Jew guarding the entrance of the airport. This guy was so big and physically fit, he was awesome. I thought: “One of these days, some NCAA football scout is going to take a vacation to Israel and find a gold mine of talent.”

It’s not unheard of for 22 year olds to enter a major NCAA sports team after military service. A couple of years ago, Northern Illinois University’s starting linebacker was 27 years old (in his senior year) having served 4 years in the Marines and two tours of duty in either Iraq or Afghanistan.

A lot of NCAA basketball players play professionally a few years in Israel. I know Dee Brown and Roger Powell did from my alma mater. It’s only a matter of time before some of these Americans refer Sabras in the IDF back to their alma maters for recruitment. It’s probably happened a few times already.

“How many Black beauty pageant winners do you see coming out of any of the Arab or Muslim countries? Very few if any at all, since Blacks are referred to as “abeed” (Arabic for “slaves” but it’s really the Muslim and Arabic N-word) by Arabs and Muslims.”
Interesting question and parameters, since the majority of muslims aren’t Arabs, but North Africans and Asians…

Very strange line, “So much for Jewish racism” — are we to assume that this one fact definitively proves something about whether Jews are sometimes racist in their attitudes and actions? Is such a statement meant for the very gullible, or for racists? It must be one or the other, because no thinking person will buy it.

During the 1st Gulf War (1990-91), in which Pres George H.W.Bush essentially rented the US Military to the Saudi Kingdom to protect and defend their royal “petro $$$” ass’s from Saddam Hussian, US forces were referred to by the Saudi’s as their “white niggers”. A period of US history we can all take pride in considering the major role the Saudi Kingdom has played in international terrorism sponsorship since then and, lest we forget, the enrichment of the Bush family treasuries. The latest Saudi contributions to world stability appear to be the installation and ownership of president Obama and the US government as well as blatent terrorist threats against Russia if it persists in supporting the legitimate Syrian government. Apparently the Russian government under Vladimir Putin is not for sale as is the US government.

I applaud Israel for recognizing a beautiful and talented woman. But to use this to criticize arab countries is just silly. Have you seen prior Miss Sudans? They are considered ethnically arab, racially black, and they are VERY widely accepted.
And if you want to go full-on with diversity, there hasn’t been a single Israeli Christian Miss Israel, despite a huge Christian population and long ancestry. There have literally been DOZENS of Christian pan-arab beauty pageant winners from Arab countries, including one Miss Universe.
This article should have been a celebration about a lovely woman. Instead it was twisted into something ugly. Shame on you.

Yep. All the the forced sterilization of Ethiopian women is just a figment of the imagination.
