“Disturbia”

By
Just got back from screening “Disturbia,” a great and very creepy thriller.
Yes, it’s a rip-off of (and not nearly as good as) Alfred Hitchcock’s classic, “Rear Window.” But this one updates the Hitchcockian thriller for the 2000s with the technology we all have for spying and documenting it, today. And instead of adults, like Jimmy Stewart and Grace Kelly, “Disturbia” features teens.
Stay tuned for my full review when the movie opens in two weeks. Although I hate to promote an film, this one is very good. Visit Disturbia’s website.

In this age of remakes, I would love to see some decent remakes of Hitchcock films. They are such fantastic movies, and to see them updated and done well would be very cool.

Debbie did you see the Anglo-Jewish film called “Sixty Six”? It was kind of like an intrafamilial “Keeping Up With The Steins.” It’s not that good but I had to watch it.

I saw the trailer for this flick and immediately thought of ‘Rear Window’. Haven’t seen ‘Disturbia’ and probably won’t, but I’m pretty sure they won’t have anybody close to Grace Kelly’s “Lisa Fremont”. Because some stuff is just perfect the way it was.

You REALLY got me confused now!!!
Last week you stated that Adam Sandler’s movie was basically a lame comedy when in fact it thus far is the BEST dramatic film depicting post-9/11 trauma, and that “Babel,” the best movie since Wim Wenders’ “Wings of Desire” [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wings_of_Desire ] sucked…so if YOU like a movie—i’m wondering—CAN IT BE ANY GOOD???
