Dumb MTV Show is Darwin’s (& America’s) Nightmare

By Debbie Schlussel

I suppose the title of this entry isn’t entirely accurate, since Darwin’s theory regarded survival of the fittest . . . not the smartest.  But the MTV show, “16 and Pregnant,” is certainly not an example of the latter.  More like, survival of the dumbest.

On this site I’ve been critical of phony family values advocate Sarah Palin and her promotion and glamorizing of her teen daughter’s babymama-hood on the cover of and in an eight-page spread in People Magazine.  Glamorizing this–instead of shaming it–is the reason it’s so prevalent in America, today . . . and the reason for a lot of our crime, drug, and teenage drop-out problems.  Sadly, one of MTV’s most popular shows, “16 and Pregnant,” does more of the same.  Yes, most of the people on this disturbing show are stupid and low-class.  But kids watching MTV don’t see that.  They see the glamor of getting on an MTV show (just like Bristol Palin got on People’s cover for the monumental “achievement” of screwing).

With 40% of American babies now being born out of wedlock and mostly to teens, do we really need to promote more of this on MTV?

On the season finale of this broadcast annoyance, last week, one of the 16-year-old couples, Tyler and Catelynn gave up their kid, Carly, for adoption (Thank G-d).  Unfortunately, for the adoptive parents, sometimes nature–ie., IQ–can’t be fixed, despite nurture–new, responsible parents who are married.  And judging from the looks of Tyler and Catelynn (see above), this is one of those cases.  Sorry, but sometimes you can judge a book by its cover.  Unfortunately, these birth “parent” will have regular contact with the kid, via e-mails and phone calls.  To the adoptive parents, I say, good luck.  It’s hard to beat bad genes.

No offense, but snobbery–particularly moral snobbery–is vastly underrated in America.  We need more of it.

What’s up next for MTV–“12 & Pregnant”?  Don’t be surprised.  Maybe they can call it, “Yo’ My Baby Raps!”

My husband and I watched that particular episode. I can’t tell you how gratified we were to have them go the adoption route. But, we could not stop laughing at how incredibly stupid the parents were. It’s so sad to have the kids in a deeper part of the gene pool, as opposed to the parents.

Idiocracy is coming!!

This is a perfect example of what I call LPS—LAZY PARENT SYNDROME! I wonder if the babymama mama made her take prozac or something!

And it just goes to show you why MTV SHOULD BE OFF CABLE!

CABLE CHOICE NOW!!!!!

“Unfortunately, for the adoptive parents, sometimes nature–ie., IQ–can’t be fixed, despite nurture–new, responsible parents who are married.”

That was not the case with Michael Oher, a black inner city Memphis teenager who was adopted by a white fundamentalist Christian family. He went from being several grades behind in school with about a 0.6 GPA to graduating both an elite Memphis Christian school and the University of Mississippi (making the honor roll a couple of times). Oher’s verified tested I.Q. rose 30 points. And Oher was only with the Tuohys a few years before going off to college. Had they gotten him earlier i.e. from birth, his I.Q. would have risen even more points.

Incidentally, the article below shows that most I.Q. develops in the womb, fetally. (Yes, I am antiabortion.) Over against “The Bell Curve” and other such theories by the atheist Charles Murray and the not exactly theist Jared Taylor and Steve Sailer (not to mention Patrick Buchanan and Sean Hannity), this shows that cultural differences are the main contributor to the I.Q. gap between blacks is cultural. If you provide a stable home to an expectant mother (and even little things like playing classical music around the house helps … even the baby killers acknowledge that unborn children can hear and the sounds that they are exposed to can either stimulate their emotional and intellectual development or stunt it), then the combination of the mother’s hormonal levels and those of the unborn child’s result in higher IQs. But if an expecting mother’s environment is chaotic, you get bad hormones produced by the mother and baby that harm intellectual development (plus cause other problems).

Now neither the right or the left talks about this study. Why? No ideological reason to. For the left, it means admitting that life begins before birth, and it also means acknowledging that many of the problems in the black community are due to culture and not racism. As far as conservatives … well they are just fine with being led by the Pat Buchanan/Sean Hannity/William Murray crowd.

Also, even after birth, there is that critical time between 0-8 years. Children who have stable environments and are constantly exposed to positive stimulation (classical music or the very complex Asian polyrhythmic music, stable environments, structured learning especially at home with educated parents that have good vocabularies and buy educational toys and books) are going to have higher IQs than parents who expose their children to chaotic dangerous lifestyles and allow the TV to be the babysitter (with the channel more likely to be MTV and BET than PBS … I know PBS is government funded and liberal but many shows are highly educational).

So while your Margaret Sanger eugenics – flavored reasoning is somewhat true, it is not nearly so much so to the extent that you believe. Instead, a huge reason for the gap between the IQs of adopted children and natural children is that the adopted children were exposed to much harsher and more negative in vitro environments, including the fact that the mother who ultimately gives a child up for adoption spends the entire pregnancy agonizing and anguishing over the decision, which results in a constant stream of bad, bad hormones.

But here is the promised link below. It is amazing that the overwhelming majority of the “scientists” who work on studies like this also support the monstrously evil butchery of abortion.

You probably know the story about Michael Oher was adapted into a new motion picture called “The Blind Side” starrins Sandra Bullock

I get accused for being quick to anger but can anyone seriously look at that picture and not feel that the guy would benefit from a good kick in the face? The girls mom and dad must be proud of her as well but something tells me that her house is probably something like a day on the Jerry Springer show.

Maybe two kicks in the face.

What the hell was Brent Bozell and the MRC thinking ,praising the show?

Right on again Debbie. I agree with you wholeheartedly. I think I would like to point one other thing, the teenage pregnancy rate among Hispanic girls is through the roof. I am Hispanic and I don’t have kids. A rarity. Well personal responsibility doesn’t exist anymore. The fact is the uptick in teenage pregnancy has to do with irresponsible parenting in Hispanic/Chicano families. Since Hispanics/Chicanos see themselves as “victims”, personal responsibility be damned. 53% of Hispanic girls are pregnant before the age of 20. I have met 30 year old grandmothers. Pretty sad and disgusting. Most Hispanic girls believe it is a rite of passage to get pregnant before 18. When I went to high school, I was told by other Latino kids “education is for white people”. Glad I didn’t listen to those fools. Many are in prison, welfare or dead. Well it has only gotten worse over the past 20 years and now shows like MTV go for ratings because society is so screwed.

Yet LaRaza and the other race hustling pimps will play the victim card to further their ends and breaking up the country all the while.

Mindboggling numbers.

Adoption ALWAYS bad.

The natural order is the raising of the child by the birth parents. It’s the divine will. It’s how God ordered the universe. It’s good for both of them. The children grow and the parents mature.

Those lofty social engineers and coddled societal group-think imagine there is a better way. They rush to relieve the young mother of her responsibilities, in fact they encourage it, but mother does her baby and herself a great disservice if she listens to their adoptive clap-trap, all the while continuing to refuse to grow up. Those nihilistic idiots are just as likely to recommend abortion to solve unexpected pregnancies. Damn, cursed pagans. I have more respect for prostitutes.

Thank God those godless dogs suffer forever in Hell, even for what they accomplish in only a short lifetime on earth. They find a way to circumvent the will of God with yet another easy way out, and cheer others down that path.

Their influence in the past 70 years just goes to show the observant what Christianity accomplished without even trying, and what these dingbats can’t achieve for all their doubled-up efforts.

Responsible citizens. Even the most lousy and water-downed forms of Christianity produced that.

Secular humanism produces the dissolute. Every. Single. Time.

Soon the humanists will rubber stamp bestiality, and incest and clamor for the right to marry your pooch or your child. We must take things to their logical end.

Debbie, I agree with you. I am a teacher in a public high school and there is a program for the babies of these girls in the schools called the LYFE program. Our taxes are paying for it. The head of the program in my school is black with all of the usual liberal drivel; my surname is a Spanish one so I guess they expect me to be a liberal idiot. I need painkillers at the end of the day with all of the crap I hear from teachers. Most public school teachers are liberals; and Jews, Hispanics, whites and blacks love all of the liberal programs and Obummer. I believe that the parents should pay for their daughters that are minors; maybe things would change if it came out of their pockets. Where I teach the two groups having the babies are: blacks and hispanics. They hate my conservative views. I have this quaint idea that parents should be married first and teens shouldn’t run around having sex and babies (that we have to pay for). Many of these girls end up having more than one baby. And yes, Palin is not a conservative but a phony. Both Palin and her daughter were pregnant without being married. Simply not having an abortion does not make you a conservative. All of these liberals are doing the same; welfare, section 8 and the WIC program beckons them.

What sucks for me is that I have to listen to the crap on “Sixteen and Pregnant” in my room (which is one floor above the living room that has a big screen TV) since my 18 year old sister always watches that as well as other crappy shows on MTV. Now they have a new show called “Teen Mom” which isn’t that surprising.

Matthew on December 8, 2009 at 11:07 pm

Wendall Holmes Jr. in the Carrie Buck Supreme Court case said it best – “Three generations of imbiciles are enough.” Have you scene these two idiot kid’s parents – OMG what a disgrace they never had a chance. It is funny how the MTV show only deals with white teenagers can you image some other races?

As a whole it is way to depressing to productive tax payers who spend their teen and early twenties years in college and grad schools. I get tired of paying the bills for these dumb kids and their dumb kids when I have to save money for 10 years to be in a position to provide for my kids before they are born. I am ready to expatriate before it is to late.
