Wall St. Journal Urges You to Visit the Hezbollah Museum for Fun & Adventure

By Debbie Schlussel

Why is the Wall Street Journal urging readers to have “Adventure & Travel” and “Study Middle Eastern politics . . . Bond-style” at the Hezbollah Museum in Lebanon? The Jihadi Tourism Industry is alive and well, with the help of a supposedly pro-Western, “American” newspaper. I waited to see if anyone would write a letter to the editor to complain, but not a single one has been published.

Far too many Americans have forgotten that Hezbollah murdered more than 300 U.S. Marines and Embassy Officials in Beirut in 1983, and that Hezbollah tortured and trampled to death Navy Diver Robert Dean Stethem during the Hezbollah hijacking TWA Flight 847. They have also forgotten that Hezbollah also tortured and murdered William Buckley, the Beirut CIA Station Chief, and Col. William R. “Rich” Higgins, a U.S. Marine and a U.N. Peacekeeper, and that Hezbollah aided and abetted Al-Qaeda in the murders of countless more Americans at the Khobar Towers, in bombings in Iraq, and in countless other terrorist operations. Hezbollah is not just an anti-Semitic and anti-Israel organization. It’s an anti-American one.

And, yet, on Saturday, on the Wall Street Journal’s “Adventure & Travel” page, reporter Lucy Knight, urges readers to visit the Hezbollah Museum with its many exhibits hailing the Islamic terrorist group’s acts of terrorist against America, Israel, Christians, and Jews. Ms. Knight, in an article entitled “Only In . . . Lebanon,” tells readers of “Five unique, occasionally weird things that you can do around Beirut and nowhere else.” Number three on the list is: “Study Middle Eastern politics in a Bond-style mountaintop lair.”

That “Bond-style lair” is the Hezbollah Museum, which I’ve previously written about on this site and noted that American tax dollars may have funded it. And this isn’t the first time the Wall Street Journal has sung the praises of this “museum,” though the previous occasion was a little more objective. It’s also known as the Mleeta Resistance Tourist Landmark, and Ms. Knight finds it “fascinating,” telling readers that they will, too. Even more disgusting, Ms. Knight makes up an imaginary quote for a Hezbollah Museum tour guide:

Everyone’s opinion does count, but you came here to know the truth.

In other words, this museum by terrorists and honoring terrorists who murdered hundreds to thousands of Americans has the truth. Everything else is just opinion. Sickening.

You won’t be able to “study Middle Eastern politics” at this propaganda house, contrary to Ms. Knight’s assertion. The only thing you’ll see there is the terrorist mass murderers’ point of view. And its status as “only in Lebanon” is also false as there are museums honoring terrorist scumbags in Iran, Egypt, and plenty of other places throughout the Islamic world.

The Wall Street Journal’s Lucy Knight includes not a single comment against Hezbollah or about what Hezbollah did. There’s no mention of the Americans tortured to death and/or blown up by Hezbollah. No mention of the many attacks on Israel. Not a single hint of the organization’s founding and funding by Iran. Nope. It’s just a cool “James Bond lair,” where you’d love to hang out. As you know, Saudi Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talal now owns almost ten percent of the Wall Street Journal and is the single largest individual shareholder in the paper after members of the Murdoch family. And while he’s a Sunni and this is a Shi’ite terrorist group’s museum, the prince and the museum have similar interests: a hatred of Israel and America.

Memo to Al-Qaeda: build your Museum of the Magnificent Hijackers and Murderers of the Evil Americans quickly. And then invite the Wall Street Journal and Lucy Knight to cover it. I’m sure they’ll say it’s very Jason Bourne-esque.

Who needs Islamic terrorism propaganda machines, when we have the Wall Street Journal Adventure & Travel page?

Curious timing for this puff-piece — right when Hezbollah apparently is seeking to obtain Russian missiles, Syrian biological weapons, etc.

Israel may have found it necessary to prevent this from happening, but of course seeing this Truthful Museum is more important than any of those things.

Just like all the tours and visits to Germany and Italy during the 30s. Same people, same puff-pieces.

Is Lucy Knight a real person?

I couldn’t find out anything about her online.Apparantly this is the only article she’s known for.

If the Israelis ever fly a sortie in the area and have a left over bomb, it looks like there is a good place to drop it.

RE: ” I waited to see if anyone would write a letter to the editor to complain, but not a single one has been published.”

It is just another sign that America as we knew it, is dead. A vast majority of Americans are becoming increasingly ignorant about Muslim terrorism.

When even Jewish senators like Carl Levin and Chuck Schumer, and sometimes even the JDL are pimping for Islamic terrorists, it is not entirely surprising to see WSJ join the crowd.

But your WSJ story is no more shocking than senators like McCain, Graham, and Kerry consistently supporting aid to rouge Islamic states like Pakistan, Libya, and Egypt.

Heck, even the State Department is recruiting our future foreign officers at Jihad-supporting Islamic conferences in America.

Next thing we know, the U.S. Army will set up a recruiting office in Gaza: they will give Muslim terrorists a fast-track to citizenship with two years of military service. That day is not that far.

While I agree with your points, I would say, there is a larger and far more sinister view of the whole:

“Why is the Wall Street Journal urging . . . .”?

Well, Islam was devised piecemeal, by men, to be of utility to themselves. And for example, in preferring to not have to deal with the labor of wooing and actually winning a woman, well, Islam well answers that felt need and preference, and to such end in all things that, Moslem nations are ruled by their lawyers, . . . the imams; their sharia is spoken to be whatever they feel most satisfactory to be to themselves at any given moment.

No surprise then, that, there are a good many in our elected positions—though not understanding the whole, but yet—who, in the nature of things, and responding to daily moments of impulse contiguous with their positions and duties, would think—beyond that which already has been made to come to pass—that, that would be quite a good thing, . . . nations should be run by lawyers, . . . and it follows therefrom that, there can be no true abuse of discretion because, whatever turn or twist to application of the law has occurred, for that instance of actuality, it was necessary, . . . and: “Why can’t the fool electorate see that?”, or, as in Bob Dole’s dismissive: “[Pay no attention to them] Those are just talk-show callers.”.

So to bring the article and at least some of the comments again to the fore, perhaps, the argument can then be made that, there are at least some at the WSJ who think that—using Islam as was intended—if the world “goes Moslem”, it can be more effectively managed, and if the world does not “go Moslem”, Islam can be set up for eradication; so, win-lose-or-draw, in looking beyond end-game, the WSJ folks would no doubt wish to be seen as having had at least some part with them that’s shakin’ an’ makin’, . . .

Debbie,

This also explains the blood libel cartoon last weekend against Israel in another Rupert Murdoch property? The cartoonist already explained he was insensitive about the timing of the cartoon’s publication, not that he expressed remorse over its subject matter. They’d never publish a cartoon like that about Muslims. Jews are fair game.

Like Americans in the WSJ. As Bob Dylan used to write, “the times are a’changin’. Indeed, they are.

What a creepy, almost surreal article.

I hope that this “journalist” was being facetious or sarcastic when she mentioned this “museum”.

Too bad that it seems that there is no difference between what’s in the museum and what is on the outside.

For the all inclusive tour why not get yourself kidnapped by genuine Hezbollah freedom fighters?

Experience the anger of genuine terrorists as they hold you against your will, never knowing if today will be the day of divine retribution for your western ways.
Learn how this day awaits all the servants of the great Satan that is your country of birth.

Visit the orphanages where the expendable youth are indoctrinated in the ways of righteous Jihad and feel true shame as you learn that Israel supported by US tax dollars is responsible for creating this environment of noxious hate simply by existing.

Truly brave travelers will participate in action against the IDF invaders and may even collect intelligence covertly from the enemy, James Bond/Gangnam style.

Although we will not be able to guarantee your safety or even promise an eternal reward for your infidel soul there is nothing like the satisfaction of walking down the street in a metropolitan area knowing that your black-and-white Koffeya is more than just an outdated fashion accessory.
