Disgraceful: Romney to the Left of Obama on Mid-East, Last Night; “When People in ME Vote, They Choose Peace” HUH?

By Debbie Schlussel

I’m not sure why so many on the right are bragging that Mitt Romney “won” last night’s Presidential debate, which mostly centered on foreign policy. While whether he won or not is in the mind of the beholder and his/her partisanship, if Romney won it was because he uttered plans and statements so absurd, so ridiculous, and so to the left of Barack Obama (or mirroring him), it reached the point of absurdity. These same people cheering his alleged “winning” are the same people criticizing Obama for being too pro-Muslim and too pro-Arab Spring and choas in the Mid-East. But Romney outdid Obama in that category, last night. It was ridiculous. No surprise to me, since I’ve noted all along that Romney’s views on the Middle East are hardly different from Obama’s and neither has embraced a foreign policy good for American interests. Were any of these people cheering Romney’s performance last night actually listening to the crap he said? He was not only to the left of Obama, he tried to outdo him in his Arab Springiness. He outpandered Obama in “reaching out” to Muslims. Disgusting. Disgraceful.

It’s Official: No Matter Who Wins Prez Election, Muslims Win

Last night, Romney attacked Obama for not pursuing strongly enough the establishment of a terrorist Palestinian State. Again, not a surprise to me, as I told you a couple of weeks ago that Romney made the same attack in a speech to Virginia Military Institute, declaring that he’d “recommit America to the goal of a Palestinian State.” Um, why the heck is that our goal? Why is it the goal of the Republican Party nominee? Romney, last night, attacked Obama because the Palestinians and the Israelis “haven’t been to the negotiating table [for a Palestinian State] in two years.” And this is bad because . . . ? Really? We really need to shove and force Israelis to a table to self-amputate some more for the Palestinians? Hmmm . . . what a “choice” we have here: between a President who is not pro-Israel, but doesn’t care too much about a Palestinian State to the point that he’s blown off the idea for the last two years versus a GOP nominee who claims to be Israel’s best friend in history and, yet, wants to shove the Palestinian State down Israel’s throat as quickly as possible. Yay, America.

He claimed, regarding Muslims in the Mid-East, “When there are elections, people vote for peace.” Really? I guess he forgot about the elections in Gaza, where HAMAS won. Yup, that’s “peace.” Or pieces. Or when Muslims voted in the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. Yup, that’s a real peaceful group. Tell it to the gays they execute on a regular basis. Or the Jews and Christians they wanna kill. Tell it to the victims of HAMAS and Al-Qaeda, both of which were spawned by the Brotherhood. And remember that little election in Iraq (a series of elections) in which the Shi’ite masses voted for Iranian-backed officials and have made it so bad that Christians continue to exit the country en masse? Can’t wait until Romney’s “free elections” are imposed in Jordan, where more than 90% of the people are Palestinian Muslims who support Al-Qaeda and HAMAS. Or Saudi Arabia, where the masses are supporters of the Bin Laden crowd. Yup, Mitt, you keep tellin’ yourself that about how Muslims vote when they have elections. It’s hilarious that people like Rush Limbaugh claim Romney showed he knows foreign policy and “did his homework,” last night. Nope, he showed he knows how to sling the Arab Spring bullcrap. And we already have such a man in the White House. We don’t need more of that. We need to replace it.

Romney then told Obama that “you can’t keep stopping it [Islamic terrorism] by killing it. You have to reach out to them to influence their values.” Uh-huh, more spending on the Islamic world, more foreign aid to them, more sending of their fellow extremist U.S. Muslims as “ambassadors” to them (while they all laugh at us), as Obama and Bush did for the last 12 years. Yup, that’s the ticket. If you like the Obama-Bush Muslim outreach and “hearts and minds” crap, you’ll love Romney’s. It’s more of the same. He kept making the point that he “won’t apologize for America;s actions” to them. But so what? He might not do it in words, but he’s made clear, he’ll continue the policy of doing it with American tax money, lives, and loss of dignity as we continue to bend over and kiss halal ass. Actions speak louder than words. And those actions are apologism. Plain and simple.

On Egypt, Romney made the same execrable argument as Paul Ryan did in his debate with Joe Biden–that they are mad that Obama didn’t dump our ally Hosni Mubarak sooner. HUH? How is this the right position? This is absurd. We should have supported our ally Mubarak, who kept the place stable and knew how to keep his country of savages in line. That should have been Romney’s view. But it never has been and never will be. He’s an Arab Spring-nik, just like Obama.

And on Syria, they also both stink. Romney also made the same ludicrous comments as Ryan did in his debate, attacking Obama for not doing enough to get rid of the Assads and put in the Al-Qaeda/Muslim Brotherhood animals fighting them. WTF? We should stay the heck out of there. We have no business being there and choosing sides to create more instability in the Middle East. Let them kill each other forever and let allah sort it out. Sickening how clueless both these guys are.

On Iran, it as also more of the same. As reader Little AI points out,

One of the most important parts of the debate was when Schieffer asked both candidates whether they would consider an attack on Israel to be an attack on the US. Neither candidate addressed that question, instead making vacuous comments about how they would ‘stand by’ Israel, whatever that means. This essentially gives the green light to the Muslims.

Spot on. Romney’s idea of prosecuting Ahmadinejad in the International Criminal Court is absurd, unless he wants more Americans on trial there for free speech. Ahmadinejad is term-limited and has about two years left in office anyway. This was just grandstanding by Romney. He’ll never pursue such a thing. And he kept saying that tougher sanctions work. Huh? NO. THEY. DON’T. Sanctions don’t work. “Tougher” sanctions–whatever that means–don’t work. Just ask Kofi Annan and his son. And we simply don’t have the courage and fortitude to do it. Sanctions against Iran were toughest under Bill Clinton, when Iran was limited to only $8 million per year in emergency goods and trade with us. Under Bush, it ballooned to nearly $150 million and has grown since then so American corporations can make money and send them “emergency” and “humanitarian” soft drinks and lingerie. You think Romney has the guts to tell Pepsi and Coke and bra companies they can no longer ship their emergency six-packs and D-cups to Iran? Puh-leeze. He doesn’t have the guts, just like neither Bush nor Obama did.

It was laughable to watch these two phonies, last night, arguing about who was more pro-Israel, when the policies they both embrace in the Middle East are identical, identically very harmful to Israel, and–more important–devastating to American and Western interests.

On foreign policy and immigration, we don’t have a choice. These guys are the same on all of that. It’s truly disgusting. Does anyone in America really think that spending gazillions more tax money in aid, arms, and “outreach” to Muslims will help the economy? I thought Romney was gonna CUT spending. Clearly, he will just continue the current trend even more.

Again, we don’t have a choice here. The only difference is that Obama won’t have to run for re-election and Romney might allow more domestic drilling for oil.

But that’s it. On the Middle East, at least last night and in his other recent speeches and writings, he was to the left of Obama. Either he’s a moron or a liar. Maybe both.

Even if Romney “won” last night’s debate (and that’s debatable), his win was really a Muslim win. We lost because he continues to pimp the same pro-Islamic Arab Spring bullcrap the last two Presidents did for 12 years.

And how’s that workin’ for ya?

***
Because I’ve written this, I’m sure I’ll get the usual, predictable attacks from the usual partisan dummies, calling me a liberal and an “Obama plant.” Because, after all, it’s “liberal” to oppose Islamo-pandering and US policy destabilizing the Mid-East in favor of terrorist-supporting thugs, right?

Political rhetoric…

Or, people in the “ME” don’t vote…

Either way, peace will never happen…

Deb – I cannot say it any better:

“If you are part of a society that votes, then do so. There may be no candidates and no measures you want to vote for … but there are certain to be ones you want to vote against. In case of doubt, vote against. By this rule you will rarely go wrong.”

This IS the guy who’ll be our next President!

I can’t vote against him but I’m sure as heck am NOT going to vote for him.

In particular cuz of his foreign policy views, among other reasons. What he said last night didn’t exactly come as a surprise to me – the man after all, IS a liberal!

The only reason I can think for him having Obama’s day job is that he’ll have to run for re-election. Debbie knows as I well I do his Middle East policy will never go anywhere, thank Allah!

But she’s right about one thing – there’s no real difference in these guys’ foreign policy views. When it comes to America’s interests, they are equally clueless. And it showed up last night.

I can’t be disappointed in Mitt Happens since he’s entirely predictable.

There you have our 45th President in waiting! Normally, I’d be happy for a GOP presidential candidate but after last night, I was even more put off by the sickening spectacle. It was both a disgraceful and disgusting performance, indeed.

Norman, you are 100% right on. America is in trouble, big time.
    Very sad.

This is incredible I have a couple of FB friends who are in law enforcement. They fully expect Obama to do something to prevent the election or for there to be such severe rioting afterwards that Martial Law will be enforced and yet, they were cheering for Romney today, saying he won.
If he is the winner, expect much worse than you got from Obama.

Italkit on October 23, 2012 at 2:18 pm

Let me be clear why my friend Debbie is reluctantly voting for him as many Americans are:

She’s voting for someone who can turn the economy around, create jobs, lower taxes and rebuild our military. Mitt Happens has experience in the private sector as a CEO and he can put his talents and experience to use in that regard to give our country a better future.

That the only thing that outweighs all the negatives about him and to have to put up with another four years of Obama means that we’ll put up with continued national decline. I don’t think Americans are ready for it. And this in no way means she endorses all his other views. Yes, she’s holding him to high standards. But that’s what we should expect of a President.

In short, the reason he’ll be President next month owes nothing to his liberalism and positions on foreign policy and has everything to do with the economy. That’s why he’s ahead in the polls two weeks out from the election. Yes, I’m aware America could do much better and it so happens that we’re saddled with a terribly flawed candidate. But that’s all we have to work with both in the foreseeable future and over the next four years.

Like it or not Romney is going to be inaugurated next year into the Oval Office.

NormanF on October 23, 2012 at 2:33 pm

      Norm,

      Your friend “gets it” 🙂

      Congrats!

      Norman,
Lets hope this quote taped at the same time as the 47% quote is what Romney really believes. “I look at the Palestinians not wanting to see peace anyway, for political purposes, committed to the destruction and elimination of Israel, and these thorny issues, and I say there’s just no way,” Romney said.

The Dems likely polled voters and found the quote not exploitable. I heard the quote once and it seemed to drop from the news cycle, unlike his 47% quote which was played to death. Obama quietly facilitates and in a passive way promotes Islamic causes which make him seem more moderate than he is. Direct attacks on Islam does not poll well. Lets hope Romney’s true feelings are more like the above quote and not the silly statements he made last night.

Italkit, I wouldn’t put much weight on your FB friends’s predictions. The vast, vast majority of people are not politically involved enough even to consider the actions being predicted.

skzion on October 23, 2012 at 6:18 pm

I understand that, sk, but it points out how unclear people are as to what Mittens is really about. They are actually voting FOR him not against Obama. And doing so while claiming to be pro-Israel. I don’t think you can have it both ways. If you want to vote Romney for America’s best interest, that’s one thing but be clear that he’s not going to be good for us and could very well be worse. He says himself that Obama has “done nothing” for over 2 years to bring Israel and the Fakestinians to the table. How is that NOT a good thing for us? It’s very good if Obamanation leaves us alone.
BTW, a Terrorist was caught with 8 pipe bombs trying to get into Jerusalem via the Kalandia Checkpoint yesterday. Think there’s a connection? I do.

Italkit on October 24, 2012 at 1:33 am

Debbie,

Let the blind partisans – who are hypocrites by the way – attack you for telling the truth. The Mittser doesn’t have a conservative bone in his body. Now I grant he could have a death-bed conversion in office, anything is possible but its highly unlikely.

What can we can hope is that he’ll be so busy rescuing the economy that he can’t damage America much further in that part of the world. And he does need an education on what the real Middle East is like.

NormanF on October 23, 2012 at 2:21 pm

Here is an example, Italk whatever,

This may be the REAL “October surprise.” Human Events has learned that Obama has made a secret deal with Iran approving of their nuclear program; made it thru the Swiss ambassador to Iran. The Swiss diplomat quotes Obama saying in his message to Tehran, “I didn’t want to impose sanctions on your central bank but I had no options but to approve it since a Congress majority had approved the decision.”

Do you think Mitt will stand up to Iran? He will or else.

As goes Israel, so goes the World... on October 23, 2012 at 2:46 pm

AGI,

To be fair, I’ll judge him by what he does in office, not what he says on the campaign trail. I think that’s fair yardstick by which to evaluate him.

And you can bet Debbie is going to have the same clear-minded attitude towards a Romney White House as she had towards Bush. That’s the kind of fair-minded journalism we have so little of these days.

Her motto is Reagan’s: Verify, then trust. And I would say Romney has to earn our trust through his actions. We’ll see whether in fact that turns out to be case but knowing what he has said, I won’t be disappointed because I’m not in the tank for him, Debbie isn’t and conscientious conservatives ought to take the same wait and see stance towards his new Administration in the offing.

NormanF on October 23, 2012 at 2:54 pm

Yes, Norman. Historically statements made on the “campaign trail” are not to be taken as a template of what will happen once Romney is in office. If he had shown more conservatives views during the campaigning, he would have tanked long ago. We can only hope his friendship toward Israel will prevail once he is in a position of power.

Oh puh-leeze, you people are sooooo naive about politics. Romney isn’t targeting his base with these comments, he is targeting the undecided/independent voters. And those people don’t want to see a bellicose buffoon. They wanna see someone who is not a cowboy. Of course, the fact that Schlussel constantly derides Bush for starting the “Arab Spring” as a “cowboy” is the proof. He came across as a peaceful man, which he obviously is. His strategy was brilliant because since he agreed with Obama on Afghanistan and diplomacy, foreign affairs issues are off the table as far as the election is concerned. Furthermore, his concept/strategy of a democratic middle east, though highly unlikely, is a noble goal. Who would ever say something as stupid as being in constant war with the muzzies for decades is much preferable to peace (exclude skzion)? Even Israelis wouldn’t!

The big differences which BHO had no retort was when Romney pointed out BHO’s apology tour, and the fact that he skipped Israel. Especially, when he told Obama that the mad mullahs noticed.

Romney was calm, calculating, and reassuring. Something a real leader needs to be. Remember a vote against Romney is a vote for 4 more years of economic misery and foreign humiliation.

FrenchKiss on October 23, 2012 at 3:24 pm

    FK sez:

“Who would ever say something as stupid as being in constant war with the muzzies for decades is much preferable to peace (exclude skzion)? Even Israelis wouldn’t!”

Poor Kisser has yet to show any flaws in my arguments. In fairness, his IQ is so low and his education so poor that he couldn’t find any flaws even if they were there. Kisser’s idea is land for peace!

“Israelis” (meaning the oligarchs who make all important decisions in Israel) are hardly an ideal source on which to base U.S. foreign policy.

Of course, the relevant point here is that striving for peace over the decades has produced war. Actually engaging in war with the enemy, killing many of him, would produce peace. “Peace” is an outcome of good policy; it is not something that should be striven for in itself. Indeed, not all times are times for peace (Ecclesiastes 3:8).

This coming from the moron that stated such highly intellectual aphorisms as “If Israel’s leaders cared about Jews, they would have expelled or killed the Muslims squatting there…” or this classic “Israel is not a free, democratic society”.

If you hate muslims, by all means, feel free to start your own political party in Israel whose primary goal is to expel or kill the muslims in Israel. But, you won’t because you are a lonely old stupid Jew that’s all bark and no bite.

Really, skzion, you live in an alternate universe of paranoia. Seek therapy.

FrenchKiss on October 23, 2012 at 8:26 pm

        Frenchy sez:

“And right on cue, the hypocrite chickenhawk vomits his stupidity.”

I have no problem with insults that are nicely delivered. They do not substitute for arguments, but they have their place. Alas, our poor Frenchy is as inept in insults as he is in argumentation. The usage “chickenhawk” comes from the Left, which is appropriate given FK’s beloved candidate, Mr. Mittens. But FK isn’t through. Like Alinsky, FK wants to trap me in some “hypocrisy.” I suppose none of us is free of hypocrisy–human beings are flawed. But what is mine, in this situation? I registered for the draft. I have never claimed to be Orthodox. I do insist that all Jews are required to love their fellow Jew, as this is the fundamental requirement of Torah. In fairness to FK, perhaps I have failed in this as regards FK himself. So fine, FK, I apologize for my transgression. You treat me shabbily, but this does not excuse my behavior.

“This coming from the moron that stated such highly intellectual aphorisms as “If Israel’s leaders cared about Jews, they would have expelled or killed the Muslims squatting there…” or this classic “Israel is not a free, democratic society”.”

This comes from someone who believes in Land for Peace? But how exactly have I erred? I have explained why Israel is not a democratic republic. FK has not shown how my analysis is incorrect. Israel does not have a “people’s branch” because it does not have a legislature that is directly accountable to the voter. Ben-Gurion himself admitted this. Furthermore, how could anyone doubt that Israel’s leaders are indifferent to Jewish lives? How many instances of Muslim killing are required to substantiate this point? No Arabs, no Arab terrorism.

“If you hate muslims, by all means, feel free to start your own political party in Israel whose primary goal is to expel or kill the muslims in Israel.”

Yeah, that will work. R’ Kahane is a case in point.

“But, you won’t because you are a lonely old stupid Jew that’s [sic] all bark and no bite.”

I’m not all THAT old. But I’m smart enough not to believe that Muslims will ever accept peace with Jews.

Seriously, FK, you need to ask yourself why you so easily attack a fellow Jew over an election.

I admit that one benefit of Barky winning would be the agony of the Mittbots like Kisser. The main benefit though would be the decimation of Liberalism four years from now as Hussein’s policies bring devastation in their wake. Putting Mittens in would give him a major advantage for a second term. I guess I’d prefer four more years of O’Muslim to eight of Th’ Mormon.

Mittens is playing a classic “strategy of ambiguity,” where he copies his opponent in nearly every area, leaving a few specifics that he emphasizes because he follows the polls. Now, the problem of such a strategy is that it is politically harmful if known by voters, and Mittens is well known as a flip-flopper. So, he chose Ryan to give the appearance of not being strategically ambiguous, all the while being so.

There is somehow pleasant, in purely intellectual way, to watch Mittens work the logic. But I have no intention of actually falling for it.

If Mittens stood for something, we would already know what that is. He doesn’t. That he will not stake out positions now reinforces a history of incoherence and self-promotion. While a strategy of ambiguity can be effective, it does not require that Mittens copy some of the worst of Hussein’s policies. No, he copies them because he doesn’t really oppose them.

Actually, “undecided” voters tend to be disproprtionately female. So in effect, you’re both right. Women voters, I have found, take longer to make up their mind. And when they do, many base their choice on highly subjective factors having little or nothing to do with the actual issues.

Seek on October 24, 2012 at 12:27 pm

Hi Debbie, you missed the point in the debate that had to do with the candidates agreeing on issues in the Middle East. Obama prattled on about the things that should be done, should have already been done, and things he said were uppermost in his “plan.” I have yet to see a plan other than that intended to impoverish the American people. Romney’s agreeing with the president was not a sympatico agreement. He was saying yes that’s how things should be, and that’s how they will be in a Romney administration. You’re betting on the wrong horse in this race. If nothing else sunk into undecided American’s heads, Obama’s apparent anger, hatred of his opponent and absolutely “stoned” appearance did.

Yeah when I saw that BS last night I thought “Debbie is yelling at her TV right now.” In fact I was to. The Arabs didn’t vote for peace. They voted for Islam. And Obama had me laughing when he talked about going to Israel as a candidate. Big deal. He publicly humiliated the Israelis at every turn so that tells the rest of the neighborhood how things are going, more than any visit years ago. But I have no faith in Mitt on foreign policy. I eventually turned it off because the two were virtually indistinguishable in their formless platitudes.

Over the years I’ve developed a habit of watching people, paying close attention to what they say and don’t say. After awhile a pattern develops that tells what a person really thinks.

I have watched you freely criticize all types of people for a variety of reasons. But there is a very specific type of male that I’ve watched you defend and make excuses for over and over again. Your old blog entries over the years confirm it. No matter what you say the evidence speaks for itself.

I’ll have more to say at other websites. Just know this: I think your sick. A Jewicidal freak.

mgoldberg on October 23, 2012 at 4:46 pm

I sadly agree but with somewhat different take. I do think that the progressive degeneration of the political perspective covers all segments of the society, and even issues: discussing contrary viewpoints is now verboten- and as others have stated, truth is the new hated speech.
For example, you can’t speak honestly about Islam; it’s been peddled as a ‘phobia’ to do so. There are people fighting vigorously to allow entry of the ‘possibility that it’s not a ‘phobia’ but actually a tenet of Islam to install terror in ‘others’. This is amongst the more hideous of that prophet with no prophecy whatsoever in his book, Mo’ the terrible’s proclamations. He said, ‘I have been made victorious thru terror’, and all the hadiths speak of the necessity to instill terror in ‘others’ so…. go figure that pointing out the utterly obvious in our political climate is verboten. And anything that disparages the ‘progressive’ notions of equality of performance of all, is similarly considered ‘phobic’ or racist, or bigoted. Which is of course
idiocy in it’s own right and numb as a boot when one considers the facts on the ground.
Which goes to the problem of Mitt Romney. Yeah, he’s no ‘conservative’ and Debbie is correct. That he’s as likely to peddle the peace at absurd costs is sadly highly probable.
But…. he isn’t a progressive at all like Obama, he isn’t a leftist at all like Obama, and he is susceptible to the force of reason unlike Obama and the liberal left idiocracy.
Will that occur? I don’t know. No american president has had the good common sense to engage that 5th gear known as common sense and proclaim what is outside the world government kumbaya twisting of everything in the name of peace such that america appeases everything it has stood for in the past and should attempt to understand and stand for again.
Can Romney do something of that….?!? I wouldn’t bet on it either, but… you know Obama won’t and his drive to ‘transform’ american is literally driven to bankrupt america, surrender it’s military strength, give Islam all it’s ‘brotherhood’ ownership in the name of ‘democracy’ so he and the progressive mentality can say- ‘ we won because we’re giving it all away to the majority’.

Which is madness because the American federal republic was never as De Tocqueville and others wrote about extensively, given to dispensing majority rule to tyrants, which is just disguised Socialism in drag.
Will Romney, if he wins, be susceptible to more reason, by showing him and his
administration the obvious homicidal self destruction of the nanny state- yes, probably. Will he be susceptible to reason when it comes to appeasing the arabs and Islam. Not unless more and more and more people keep showing the horrible homicidal desires of Islam- not ‘Islamism’ and of course the good thing is Islam will continue to show their compulsion in this, all the while blaming all others for it’s existence.
Will Romney be any better than Obama- I don’t know. But the situation will only get worse as the appeasement continues. And that alone… may move the populace to reconsider it’s own self deception disorder and move those governing to consider that vote as we slide ever more dangerously into our national and western deterioration of everything the west fought for and created for itself and the rest of the world.

mgoldberg on October 23, 2012 at 4:37 pm

Step One: The Obomunist MUST GO.
Step Two: If it is going to take a Conservative Third Party, we will know that soon enough.
Can’t have step two without step one.
Go forth and vote for Romney. Hold your nose if you must but, VOTE FOR ROMNEY.
Four more years of Bathouse Barry and all of your worst fears will be realized, and that goes double for Debbie as I am sure state sanctioned anti semitism will be all the rage.
The one hundred year trek into insanity cannot be undone all at once. keep up the good fight.

Again Debbie is spot on…I had the exact feeling after the debate. Mainly that BOTH MR and BHO are equally mediocre and ignorant about not only the ME but the entire state of affairs in the world.
I love the USA so much and I feel bad for Americans because either way the next 4 years they will be ruled by an ignoramus that will put the destiny of the US in danger. And as a consequence Israel and the non muslim world will suffer.
Except for muslims, DS is right when she says,
It’s Official: No Matter Who Wins Prez Election, Muslims Win
Yep, this pretty much sums it up.
Also kudos to Norman… I like your comments most of the time..you’re one of the most intelligent commenters on here.

Yossi on October 23, 2012 at 5:03 pm

Debbie-lah don’t worry about what those guys say, it’s mostly focus group tested drivel. Romney sees the Arabs as the problem and Obama sees Jews as the problem, to boil things down. Did you get a chance to contact Miss Piggy’s school in France so she can get extra credit for her Diplomacy skills?

these people are stupid because if you ask them about peaceful pisslam they make up excuses for their savage behavior.if they knew the history of pisslam they wouldn’t be so cavalier about letting the bastards into our country.i think because our govt.schools are infected with john dewey and marx that turns out a bunch of stunards who can’t find their ass with both hands.but for a president and a candidate to display total ignorance of the true nature of pisslam really pisses me off.

Neither candidate will save this rickety, broke country. Mitt will give us 3 more months before the crash.

Debbie. The world hates the Jews, and most Americans could care less….even the Jews hate the Jews.

Tough times are coming.

Rick on October 23, 2012 at 5:30 pm

Rick, you are right on, rough times are coming, Yes.This is how one prepares for these rough times. You pray to Jesus and ask Jesus to save you. Pray like this:

Dear Jesus, please forgive me for all my sins and come into my heart and save me. Oh Jesus please wash away all my sins with your blood that you shed on the cross for me. Jesus, please take me to Heaven when I die. Now that you saved me Jesus, now I won’t have to go to an eternal hellfire and burn there forever. Thank you Jesus that you died on the cross for me and thank you that you shed your blood for me. Amen.

Last word on October 26, 2012 at 9:55 am

But what about Romney’s aggressive position on China? Well, talk is cheap during campaigns. Just like they all say that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel until the campaign is over, they talk aggressively about China until the campaign is over.

But how aggressive was Romney? Did he say anything about the dictatorial, virtual totalitarian practices in China? The suppression of dissent there? I mean something serious, not like Shrillary’s bi-annual mouthings made during trips to appease China.

What about China’s aggressive behavior towards its neighbors, Japan, India, Vietnam, the Phillippines, Taiwan, etc.? Not a word. Oh, but we have our aircraft carriers. But what about the new Chinese missile that quite likely can shoot down the aircraft carriers the President mentioned so rhetorically? Not a word.

What are we doing to combat those missiles? Not a word, I guess that doesn’t have anything to do with national security. What will be do about Cuba when Castro dies? Not a word from either of them. What about Venezuela if and when Chavez dies in the near future, something rather likely? Not a word.

As far as Rush and the other hacks? First of all, I’m sure many of them are angling for jobs or crumbs from a Romney administration. Second, let’s face it — they are standing in the way of a real conservative movement, doing what they can to disorient the populace.

So for myself, I will not vote for either of them. A couple of local Republicans I will vote for, but not a lesser evil, although I respect the opinions of those who disagree.

Little Al on October 23, 2012 at 6:56 pm

Little Al, just remember: Mittens is severely conservative.

skzion on October 23, 2012 at 7:02 pm

Oh yes, I forgot for a minute. Can’t let myself get carried away like that.

Little Al on October 23, 2012 at 7:23 pm

And just like Debbie frequently does, we have to challenge the talk show and talk radio hacks like Rush, Hannity, Coulter and the rest of then, show how they’re shilling for Romney or whoever the demagogue of the minute is, so that conservatives will gain the political sophistication we need to challenge liberalism effectively.

Little Al on October 23, 2012 at 6:59 pm

I’ve been disgusted most of the day with how silly the so-called “Conservatives” are on this topic. I couldn’t handle one more call from a kool-aid drinking moron that Romney’s strategy last evo was “BRILLIANT”. It will only be “brilliant” if he beats Obama-Putin and we won’t know until November 7th. I’m not convinced he will. Flip Floppney was more brutal to his Primary Opponents and to be that is heinous.

I am NOT impressed. What the f**k is “brilliant” about the GOP being the lace-panty wearers and weepers they always are? The Dems have castrated the GOP looooong time ago. It’s absolutely disgusting.

It’s hard to know every single fact. I sure wish I did but let me say that regulars here know the small bit of knowledge that is needed to know that all DS has wrote about in this post is soberingly spot-on and knowing it makes us seem like we know all the facts as DS does…

THAT THIS. IS. ISLAM. There are NO “moderates”. That the death-cult is rotten to the core, hypocritical, perverted and illegitimate and intrinsically Jew-hating. That the so-called “moderates” won’t kill us but want the so-called “extremists” to kill us.

If you know that small fact you can bluff your way into seeming like you are an expert on whole the M.E. But that very true and sobering facts is lost on many. And I am just talking about the so-called “Conservatives”. If you haven’t discovered that many so-called “Conservatives” are no better than Liberals you haven’t been paying attention.

All I heard last night was exactly what DS described and it reminded me of McCain. I am beginning to think that the GOP is in cahoots with the Liberals.

And if you think I am gas huffing on that last statement ask yourself why the last 4 years the genital-less GOP has NEVER taken it to Obama-Putin? They have had overflowing grist for the mill (Fast & Furious, Benghazi, Czars, superseding the Constitution, Executive Orders…etc…) but have been amazingly tolerant and lenient. It’s not right.

I understand the “Conservatives” passion for getting rid of Obama-Putin but I can’t excuse how little they are thinking.

Those who read this site know this. But the amount of those who don’t know this terrifies me. I guess if Obama-Putin wins on the 6th it won’t matter anyway….

Skunky on October 23, 2012 at 7:17 pm

Glad to hear you voice my thoughts about last night’s debate, Debbie. I was very angry with Romney for appearing like “me too” with everything Obama said. I began to wonder why we had two guys up there at all. I was also disappointed that Romney didn’t call Obama out on his relationship and support of the Muslim Brotherhood, Romney talking about the “Arab Spring” like it was a good thing, Romney didn’t point out that if Obama had “gotten” Al Queada (or however you spell it) our Ambassador would not be dead, Obama using NASA to pander to the Muzzies, etc., etc., etc. Instead we just got “I agree with President Obama…” WTF??? If it wasn’t for the fact that Obama will be so BAD for the economy, and Romney should be better, I’d be tempted to stay home this year.

Andrew McCarthy has a good book out that talks about why Muslims will NEVER have democracies, because the Muslim faith is antithetical to democracy. I found myself agreeing with McCarthy that Bush really was wrong to spend OUR money to rebuild Afghanistan instead of just bombing the crap out of them and leaving. These are people who live in the stone age. They love to kill EACH OTHER. They might not even have noticed that we bombed them and left. But since we stayed and spent a fortune helping them build something that they will destroy as soon as we do leave, they believe we are weak. Some say that Bush did it because he hopes that if we did that they would somehow love and respect us. BS. They should spend their own $$ rebuilding if they want to (just like Iraq should have) and they would RESPECT us more for it. Because they STILL want to kill us.

DG in GA on October 23, 2012 at 7:38 pm

DG, I know DS is no fan of AMc but the valid point you made about how USA stupidly rebuilt Afghanistan in lieu of bombing it is a good example of my point where I said if one understands just this about Islam (that there are no “moderates” and it’s a death-cult etc…) they wouldn’t have to struggle with the silly, “PC” hand-wringing sensibilities that even the M.E. deserves to have “Democracy”.

I like to remind peeps that even Russians are not hot for “democracy” so why be so foolish to believe the M.E. would want it? I waste ZERO moments worrying about the dopey Russians. I even waste less time worrying about ME vermin. (However, I do notice (@ the gym) that many news channels are showing more and more ME children killed by drones (Pakistan) and bombings (Syria) and that gets the uniformed even more weepy. They start to stupidly say “Why aren’t we helping them?????” Megyn Kelly even cried on the air about a child bombed in Syria.)

If people knew some history and facts (as we learn here) then that stupid way of thinking would not proliferate. But people don’t know and many don’t want to know. It’s a sad state of affairs indeed.

Skunky on October 23, 2012 at 8:04 pm

Oops…the context I mean in my sentence ( “I waste ZERO moments worrying about the dopey Russians. I even waste less time worrying about ME vermin.”) is regarding DEMOCRACY only.

I do worry about Russia and the ME in all other contexts. Sorry for the lack of clarity.

Skunky on October 23, 2012 at 8:45 pm

I also don’t think Romney will cut spending. Paul Ryan in his budget did not cut spending but just the rate of spending. A real Conservative is as rare as rocking-horse sh**.

Either way it’s gonna look the same coming out of this sorry hole America is in.

BTW Romney was Governor of Massachusetts and had to cow to the 87% Liberals in the legislature here. He will do the same IF he is elected President. If you wanna know how he will rule as Prez check out his rule as Governor (pretty Liberal). It’s there is you wanna see it.

Skunky on October 23, 2012 at 7:47 pm

Debbie is right and conservatives are rare as a horse feather.

Now if Mitt Happens is a conservative, he’s done a pretty remarkable job of hiding it.

Reagan also went soft and fuzzy in his foreign policy debate with Carter. Maybe you do have to convince people you’re not an ogre.

Romney is good at Machiavellian politics. I can’t figure out if he believes what he says or what he said was for political calculation. That kind of ambiguity is brilliant.

Now, Debbie me and you Skunky wouldn’t say that kind of stuff he said last night. But we’re not running for public office and few politicians are principled. All we can hope its not a binding promise.

And very little campaign trail talk becomes a reality. If Romney doesn’t damage this country, no one has a reason to regret their vote. When it comes to a sick patient, such as America is now, the sage advice comes to mind: “do no harm.” Let’s hope Mitt Happens lives up to it.

NormanF on October 23, 2012 at 10:16 pm

Again, Norman you speak with a clarity of mind!

Rochelle on October 24, 2012 at 3:24 pm

The whole crux of the problem is that we tried to defeat Romney in the primaries and weren’t successful. We’re stuck with him. But, what’s the alternative? Let Obama have another four years? I can’t do that. As distasteful as it may be, I’ll cast my vote for Romney. I cannot in good conscience do nothing when it comes to removing Obama from power.

TonyF on October 23, 2012 at 8:20 pm

Timothy R. Furnish, PhD (Islamic, World, African history) is an analyst and writer, US Army veteran and recovering college professor who consults for the US government and military and this is what he has to say about Romney.
It seems clear that Romney’s position on Islam is closer to Barack Obama’s than to the mainstream of his own party. In an interview with U.S News & World Report in 2009, he said this:
I spoke about three major threats America faces on a long term basis. Jihadism is one of them, and that is not Islam. If you want my views on Islam, it’s quite straightforward. Islam is one of the world’s great religions and the great majority of people in Islam want peace for themselves and peace with their maker. They want to raise families and have a bright future. There is, however, a movement in the world known as jihadism. They call themselves jihadists and I use the same term. And this jihadist movement is intent on causing the collapse of moderate Muslim states and the assassination of moderate Muslim leaders. It is also intent on causing collapse of other nations in the world. It’s by no means a branch of Islam. It is instead an entirely different entity. In no way do I suggest it is a part of Islam [emphasis added].

    Deadly quotation, Gerald.

skzion on October 24, 2012 at 7:38 am

I do not necessarily disagree with Deb, but I do have to say to those of you who do not want to vote. We don’t know how Romney will be as a president. We might try to guess and predict just like Deb is doing, but we really do not know. However one thing we do know is how Obama was as president. So your vote could eliminate what we had the last 4 years and potentially install something better.

max on October 24, 2012 at 7:19 am

And then there’s always the United Nations, that atrocious anti-semitic organization that worships every dictator in the world. Surely a candidate interested in the United States’ welfare would say something about the UN. Ideally to get out of it, but at the least to try to ‘improve’ it. But of course neither said anything about it.

Oh, but I heard that Romney had stomach flu, and that’s why he did so poorly (define poorly however you want). Kind of like Obama did poor in the first debate because of the high altitude.

So, with all of Romney’s many, many weaknesses, we do indeed know what he would do as president. More of the same.

I guess the next argument that will be raised is that we are not adults unless we support this candidate who is against everything that we’re for.

Surprisingly enough Israel’s best friends are the Palestinians not the Americans. By constantly rejecting the”peace” pushed on them by Israeli governments as stupid as ours they have kept Israel from committing suicide.

Romney had nothing critics to say about Libya during the foreign affairs debate so he has no major problem with the administration’s behavior.

Little Al on October 24, 2012 at 1:34 pm

Debbie is spot on here in every point she makes. The Left’s biggest success in the last 100 years has been to put the brackets on both sides of all debates, foreign and domestic. Instead of talking fundamental values and the constitution, the conservatives are reduced to arguing about the size of government groeth, not how to shrink it. Likewise, it’s not a debate about whether there should be yet another Islamic state carved out of Israel, but only what the terms for such a state should be. I am now reading Goldwater’s book, “The Conscience of a Conservative”, published in 1960. Change “billions” to “trillions” and “Moscow” to “Tehran”, and the book could have been written yesterday by any Tea Party member with a brain. But I think there is a silver lining to a BHO second term: The GOP old-guard will be dead – if they can’t defeat BHO, what good are they? – and the real conservatives in the party will take over. And that’s why I think Soros, Buffet and other Leftist money guys want Mitt to win, since he is just BHO-lite. But if BHO wins, the reaction from the right could be devastating to the Left in America.

Phil on October 24, 2012 at 1:36 pm

IMO after watching the debate, I conclude that if Romney were not a Mormon he would make a hell-of-a poker player. Obama saw this and was shocked when Romney didn’t fall into the traps designed for him.
