EXCLUSIVE: ObamaPhone Photo of the Day

By Debbie Schlussel

The following photo was taken yesterday in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania by a friend of David Lanza, a reader and friend of DebbieSchlussel.com. The actual photographer wishes to remain anonymous, likely out of fear of becoming a target of Obamobs. You’ve no doubt seen the video, yesterday, of the shrieking Obama-supporter going on and on about the “Obamaphones” and how Obama should be re-elected for this. (Does anyone really think these tax-funded phones will end during a Romney administration?) Now, here’s the picture, complete with the sharia contingent seeking Al-Obamaphones.

Is there more information about this program? Is it like a regular lifeline phone service, which limits the outgoing calls to a local area? Also, even with a landline with you do have to to pay a nominal monthly charge for the service. Getting the whole setup for free would be a big change.

Worry01 on September 28, 2012 at 3:01 pm

The cost is apparently free for the phone and the monthly service. Well, free to those who are given them tho not to those of us who pay for it via our taxes. Go to this website for more info:

Sure — Here’s some info. The FCC’s Lifeline program, to allow low-income people discounted access to telephone service, began in 1984 under the Reagan administration and is funded by telecom companies. The subsidized service is paid for by telecom companies (not taxes):

And that ladies and gentlemen is you 47%’s Romney was speaking of! BTW…these phones are paid for by all of us who actually pay for our cell phones. There is a government charge (tax) on your bill that funds this socialist program. GO FIGURE! Buying votes with our tax dollars!

Gman213 on September 28, 2012 at 3:10 pm

Actually this program of low cost phones for low income Americans was started under Bush, while a program for low cost phone service was considered during Regans administration.

This program is not even paid with using tax payer money but throguh non profits.

Nakruh on September 28, 2012 at 3:43 pm

Actually Lifeline Service is subsidized by a Universal Service Fund Fee on all phone bills. it is a tax.

    http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/technology/2011/08/critics-free-cellphone-program-poor.html

This program is a big leap past the old Lifeline Service that allowed people to have a landline phone for local outgoing calls, and whatever incoming calls were received.

The problems with this program involve its escalating costs and the potential for fraud.

    Worry01 on September 28, 2012 at 4:12 pm

      @Worry,

It’s hard to say which institution is causing more harm to Americans: law schools or business schools. The former churn out unaccountable czarist nincompoops, whereas the latter produce airheaded “corporate citizens” who use their SHAREHOLDERS’ companies as in instrument to sovietize the economy.

I don’t doubt for a second that all of the major phone companies provide coverage to this program at a rock-bottom price, which they then recoup by making the non-deadbeat customers pay even higher prices. Our hospitals pretty much follow the same “business” model. If there weren’t so many barriers to entry in the market (most of them laughably illegal but unchecked), an enterprising businessman could ANNIHILATE AT&T et al by refusing to give service away, and charging their paying customers about one third of the (inflated) rate.

      Statusm0nkey on September 28, 2012 at 8:11 pm

HOWEVER, DOESNT’ THIS STILL MEAN THAT TAX PAYING CELL PHONE USERS THAT PAY THIS TAX ON THEIR BILLS STILL PAY FOR THEM?

SUNSHINEGIRL on September 29, 2012 at 11:43 am

@Nakruh – Funny, my cell bill tells me different.

There’s a local shopping center I go to where the Obama voters hang out. There are all kinds of drug addicts, alcoholics, gang members, homeless, etc. It’s unbelievable to me how many self-destructive losers there are in this country and and we just give them free stuff. Unbelievable!

David on September 28, 2012 at 4:06 pm

Debbie I want some Obama bucks too. Is there some kind of program you can get me into for good looking, fit 5’9″ Jewish guys with advanced degrees who work their tushies off? I would accept payment in the form of personal services. If there isn’t Debbie I’ll pay for your massage school.

A1, you perv, we offered to buy you an inflato doll. And you’re not fit or attractive.

skzion on September 30, 2012 at 5:24 pm

I don’t get what’s so shocking in this picture.

In Brooklyn (where we figure out all benefits) we figured out that there is actually two companies that give Obama phones. Officially you can only get one of them, But since its the government No no one does due diligence really cares, you can take 3 or 4 phones for the entire family.

Moshe on September 28, 2012 at 5:36 pm

See these booth’s all the time outside the 7/11’s. It started under Bush but only cost a couple hundred grand and had no real advertising. Under obama the program is costing hundreds of millions of dollars and has a full advertising budget (radio, tv and billboards). It is one per address so some try to have them sent to vacant homes, trailers or apartments under different names. It is paid by regular phone users through a tax collected by the phone companies. So we are supporting the freeloaders yet again.

ender on September 28, 2012 at 6:04 pm

No one uses landline phones anymore! As for me, I use free relay service and IM as I am nearly deaf.

I have a TTY but its been gathering dust for over ten years now. Any thing I need to do with my disability, I don’t need an interpreter now – I can use my computer to contact any one with whom I have business to do.

The Lifeline program is one of those one size fits all government programs that doesn’t fit every one’s particular situation – and yes its prone to abuse, waste and fraud like the rest of them.

Its an example of how the good intentions of government hasn’t caught up with how people communicate today – in this century.

There is always the Ouija Board. 😉

    Worry01 on September 29, 2012 at 12:14 am

12 million people now have Obama phones

What are the odds the Demorats have those 12 million phone numbers and will be calling those 12 million phone numbers just before Nov 6th to remind these 12 million dead beats that there won’t be any more government swag unless they put out the doobie, get off the couch, call up the Free Demorat Voting Bus and haul their Size 9x ass down to the polls and vote as many times as allowed?

Yeah, me too.

these liberals are absolutely so incredibly vile, stupid, despicable…..and WRONG, on all counts, PERIOD.

Dave on September 30, 2012 at 3:47 am

Hilarious. Further proof (as if we needed any) that Ronald Reagan (under whose administration this program began) would be considered a pinko commie socialist by today’s Republican party: http://www.wirelessforhope.org/#!about-lifeline

jeeem on September 30, 2012 at 11:48 pm

Jesus….And these (Liberal moronic lemmings) actually vote. And who the hell said “Liberals” are the intellectual set?
