Bitter Feminist USA Today Sports Columnist: Erin Andrews Deserved It (the Peeping Tom Video)
By Debbie Schlussel
The biggest story in sports pop culture over the last few days is that of the peeping tom (do you capitalize the proper name “Tom” when it’s preceded by “peeping”?) who filmed ESPN reporter Erin Andrews, unauthorized, while she was naked in her hotel room.
I don’t really care about the story. To me, it’s: yaaawn. In a day and age when women sports reporters remain dumb and unnecessary, they are picked solely for their looks. Doesn’t bother me. But, given that, it’s no surprise that someone should try to film them nude. Most of ’em already post with most of their clothes off, anyway.
But it piqued my interest, when I learned that feminist USA Today reporter Christine Brennan (whose columns can be summed up, thus: dumb women’s sports like soccer, figure skating, and the WNBA–good; all men’s sports, especially football–bad) essentially tweeted that Andrews deserved it:
Women sports journalists need to be smart and not play to the frat house. There are tons of nuts out there.
And this second tweet:
Erin Andrews incident is bad, but to add perspective: there are 100s of women sports journalists who have never had this happen to them.
USA Today Sports Columnist Christine Brennan (right) (With “Special Friend” Billie Jean King)
This is expected from Brennan, who has written tons of columns over the years whining about the pretty, airheaded female sports reporters that dominate the airwaves. Welcome to showbiz, Christine. No-one wants to hear these women’s knowledge. They already have droners like Al Michaels and Chris “McCain Voters Are Racist” Fowler for that. The women are there for one reason: window-dressing. And this kills the very jealous Christine Brennan.
But here’s the thing: Getting taped through your hotel room wall without your knowledge isn’t a matter of “be[ing] smart and not play[ing] to the frat house.” It’s something beyond your control. And while Andrews’ status as a bim who was picked solely for her looks likely contributed to her becoming a target for the peeping tom, Brennan basically said she deserved it. And Brennan has, yet again, revealed herself to be a hypocrite. Her feminism doesn’t apply to pretty girls.
Do you think a male columnist for USA Today could get away with that and ever work in the sports biz again?
Think again. Yet again, a feminist–who whines that women don’t get “equal treatment” in sports–gets special treatment, solely based on the fact that she is a woman (only her gynecologist knows for sure).
If Brennan is familiar to you, that’s because, earlier this year, we wrote about how she whined when Barack Obama went on ESPN with his picks for the NCAA March Madness Men’s Basketball Tournament, but not the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament (about which no one cares).
(For the record, I was on ESPN’s “Outside the Lines” with her, a few years ago, and all she did was insult me because she didn’t have anything to say to back up her position that women should get special exemptions to play in men’s golf tournaments. She claimed I’m stupid–even though she couldn’t respond to any of my one-liner singers–to which I responded that I was a member of MENSA and she belongs to DENSA.)
Somehow or another, the sort like Brennan don’t understand that nature has provided a reason (one that try as they might, can’t be changed) as to why men are on the high-end-average stronger, faster and have more endurance than women. If you want unbiased equality, then it has it to be based on ability to perform ina role or job.
My husband can upright his 900 lb antique Indian motorcylce with ease. I can’t even keep it upright sitting on it alone off the kickstand..There is a reason for this, and one for which I’m very glad is the case – and it’s not just because I like my Harley softail better. 😀
These lesbo feminists need to get a clue about the limits and design of nature, and stop trying to fool the world into believing it’s some their mandate to try to “sissyfy” the male population to make themselves feel equal. If they had any brains at all as what they purport to be – feminists- then theywould be clamoring about the injustic of what happened to Erin Andrews in it’sown proper context and not their silly man-hating agenda.
