Remember What Else Happened 40 Years Ago?
By Debbie Schlussel
I already wrote my tribute to the 40th anniversary of the first manned landing on the moon–America’s manned landing–last week: “America Failed to Advance in Space in 40 Years Since Apollo 11: Real Science & Imagination Replaced by Junk,” which I posted on Thursday, the anniversary of the launch.
But let’s not forget what else happened 40 years ago over the weekend. Today’s Detroit Newsistan features a reprinted front page from the paper that appeared on July 21, 1969. It harkens back to a day when that paper actually reported stories, instead of being a birdcage liner held captive by fabricators and Islamo-panderers (but I repeat myself).
And at the bottom of the page is a story of a murderer–perhaps a murderer of two, since as the late Leo Damore reported in “Senatorial Privilege: The Chappaquiddick Cover-Up,” Mary Jo Kopechne was pregnant, perhaps with Ted Kennedy’s unborn child. Today, we celebrate that murderer and are told to feel sorry for him because he has cancer, even though his victim(s) never lived to see life beyond the torturous death in water. Yes, today’s Republicans, like Marc Sanford and Jon Ensign are lowlifes and narcissists who should resign. But at least they never murdered anyone. . . and got away with it.
Yes, Edward just published a memoirs-type book, and I searched from cover to cover…
No mention of Mary Jo there either!
