Obama Trip Irony: Yesterday v. Today

By Debbie Schlussel
I can’t help but notice the glaring irony–no, the hypocrisy–of Obama’s trips, yesterday and today.
Yesterday, in Cairo, Obama praised the new Nazis (Islam and Muslims) and pressures Israel, blaming the Jews for all of the Muslims’ violence and problems. He did it in a speech at Anti-Semitic U a/k/a Al-Azhar University, where hating on Jews and wishing Hitler “finished the job” is the order of the day.
Today, Obama–in a visit to Buchenwald concentration camp in Germany–condemned the old Nazis and lamented dead Jews. You know–the ones who were victims of the same kind of anti-Semitism he was lauding and sanctioning with his appearance at Al-Azhar, his praise of Islam, and his blame the Jews (Israel) mentality.

That Was Then . . .

This Is Now . . .

It’s not that the irony is lost on Obama and his handlers. It’s that it’s lost on liberals and Obama’s Jewish supporters, who are falling all over themselves over Obama standing on the graves of dead Jews.
Well, they didn’t get it in November, either. The more things change . . . .
Hey, Barack Hussein Obama, if you don’t care about live Jews, I really couldn’t care less what you think about the long dead and buried ones.

Hypocrisy is truly the word, Debbie. Having had the opportunity to visit Auschwitz and Berkenau about 10 years ago when my hubby and I wentto Poland, I cannot conceive that Obama or anyone could see that or the similar preservation of the ultimate in attrocities at Buchenwald, and even consider for a moment appeasing Islamofascism.
There is a huge difference in hearing Obama’s professorial commentary on the holocaust in his speech in Egypt and what should be an expression of abject horror at having seeing such a site. It rings shallow if not hollow to me. I know I literally cried for days after seing it and have cried in my heart and soul over it for a decade.
I am surprised the Obamessiah hasn’t apologized to the Germans for Dresden while he was there.

I think Bill better worry about Hillary hooking up with KING HUSSEIN. They both are seen taking their clothes, well shoes off in Cairo. Hillary does the hijab again. Where in the hell is Ms Thang in these pictures?

You decry the hypocrisy of Obama’s claiming to care about dead Jews while betraying the interests of live ones by making overtures to Islam.
I decry the hypocrisy of conservatives who choose to ignore the fact that the current plan for Palestinian statehood was created by George H. W. Bush and Ronald Reagan diplomat and foreign policy analyst Dennis Ross in the early 1990s, and that every administration since then, Republican and Democrat, has followed it. This is a matter of public record and common knowledge, and the different approach that Republican and Democrat leaders take towards Israel is the meaningless rhetorical posturing that Republicans make in order to keep their religious Zionist supporters (Christian and Jewish) in line.
So, what is hypocritical is ignoring inconvenient facts like this: “As late as March 2005, the [George W. Bush] administration was discussing the launch of final status talks between Israel and the PA in 2006 and the formal establishment of a Palestinian state, with sovereign air space and territorial waters, by 2008.”

So how’s about throwing up a graphic of a grinning (or smirking) George W. Bush next to an Islamic crescent moon and a swastika? Bush and Obama support the same Dennis Ross plan. Obama is merely free to be more publicly aggressive in pushing Palestinian statehood because he doesn’t have tens of millions of evangelicals (who are every bit as tragically deluded by their self – interested and self – appointed leaders and spokesmen as are the black community by their leaders and spokesmen) in his base.
Remember: it was Bush who pressured Sharon to pull out of Gaza in order to set the stage for final status negotiations which would have had the Palestinians receiving Gaza, the West Bank, and a portion of Jerusalem at minimum. Or have you forgotten these?http://web.israelinsider.com/Articles/Briefs/6483.htm

Claiming that Obama is any worse for Jews or Israel than was Bush is simply dishonest.

Its just sickening, Debbie. I’m glad our fathers, may their memories be for a blessing, aren’t alive to see this travesty. Obama sheds crocodile tears over dead Jews while seeking to enforce apartheid rule on live Jews that would prevent them from living a normal life in the Jewish homeland. What is the difference when both lead to the same end – the cessation of Jewish existence? There is no moral and practical difference between the old Nazis and the new one. The spirit and aim of both are the same. That is what Obama doesn’t understand and he will never get it about Jews and sad to say the 78% of our co-religionists who voted for him are too blind to acknowledge it, never mind standing up for the Jewish State. Israel is all alone now.

Mistress_Dee, he will get around to apologizing for Dresden. I can only see poor Arthur “Bomber” Harris turning around in his grave. We must place the thugs and murderers on the same moral plane as their victims. In that regard, Obama’s been consistent. For in the Leftist worldview, there is no moral judgment and the good guys and the bad guys even out. Where you expecting anything different?

Debbie — Thanks for another honest — and honestly written — post. Your prose is always unvarnished and hard-hitting — a welcome contrast to the pussyfooting pusillanimity that typifies so much Internet writing about Jews and Judaism.
Jew-haters have always had a soft spot in their hearts for dead Jews. In fact, I’d say that’s a pretty good definition of “Jew-hater”: one who hates live Jews but admires dead ones. Herzl, Nordau, Jabotinsky — all the great early Zionists — understood this perfectly. They understood that the time had come, indeed the time was long past, for Jews to stop allowing their tormentors to metamorphose them from live to dead. Sadly, their understanding has not only eluded a large percentage of American Jewry, but even eludes a large number of Israeli Jews. The fact that so many modern Jews fail to “get it,” fail to see that their very existence is what their enemies cannot abide, and that those enemies will never be their “friends” until they, the Jews, are dead, is a sure sign that Herzl was right: centuries of Jew-hatred have so damaged the Jewish psyche that many Jews today have a deep, unconscious death wish. Only this pathology — and a death wish is pathological — can explain the devotion so many Jews feel for Barack Obama.
The Jewish people were long ago commanded to “choose life.” When, oh when, will we do as commanded?

Blah Blah Blah
Big Ears says WHATEVER will appease those in front of him at the time.
Talk about empty suit.

heatheland- you said “Remember: it was Bush who pressured Sharon to pull out of Gaza in order to set the stage for final status negotiations which would have had the Palestinians receiving Gaza, the West Bank, and a portion of Jerusalem at minimum. Or have you forgotten these?”
I’ll ask you if you’ve forgotten how Gaza turned into “cape canaveral” for rockets built in Iran? Some stage for final negotiatios or are you really saying “final solutions”?

I’m half Cherokee and the comment “Jew-haters have always had a soft spot in their hearts for dead Jews. In fact, I’d say that’s a pretty good definition of “Jew-hater”: one who hates live Jews but admires dead ones. ” sort of reminds me of Gen Wm. T. Sherman’s comment that ” the only good injun is a dead injun” line. At least Sherman was honest about it and not a hypocrite like modern day liberals.
lol

Altalena, in King Hezekiah’s time, the kingdom of Israel vanished because paganism had consumed the ten tribes of the north. The ten tribes disappeared forever, not because of what the Assyrians did to them but because of what they did to themselves. The sole surviving kingdom of Judah had to fight a tenacious battle with paganism. It was only when the Jews defeated it, that they would be able to survive down through the ages, beginning first with the return from the Babylonian Exile under the Persians and then again in our own time under the British. As long as Jews hold onto who they are, they will remain G-d’s witness, even if they should only be a remnant. Israel must maintain its faith in G-d and then no mere man can do anything to the Jewish people. If they keep their vow to Him, He will never forsake them and the land of the forefathers to which they have an eternal connection.

This is how easily Jews are bought off by 0bama
— He held the first White House Seder
— He is visiting Buchenwald today
He is destroying Isreal behind the scenes but Jews are happy. Because they want to believe and Obama throws them crumbs and meaningless gestures

dennisw on June 5, 2009 at 4:09 pm

Its soo easy to be nice to dead Jews. It’s difficult to be considerate of live Jews. Its just asking too much of Jewish Obamaphiles to notice – much less – than to point out the difference in Obama’s treatment of Jews past and present.

californiascreaming,
I think you are coming close to the real picture about Bush, a rich, spoilt, AWOL, Saudi-puppet.
