Who is Nancy Cassis? How Selfish GOP Dolt McCotter Created a Pan-Muslim/LaRouche/Paulistinian Disaster

By Debbie Schlussel

A month or so ago, when Michigan U.S. Congressman Thaddeus McCotter–an attention whore for FOX News more than anything else–resigned, a number of readers wrote to me about how sad they were. PUH-LEEZE. If only he’d left sooner. Instead, we are left with four horrible choices for his Congressional seat, and the winner will probably be decided in tomorrow’s Republican Primary in Michigan.

Because of the Idiocy of Thad McCotter, Pan-Arabist Republican Nancy Cassis Might Get Elected to Congress

A number of Michigan voters have asked me if they should write in the name of Nancy Cassis, a 70-year-old sleazebag establishment liberal Republican who voted for higher taxes and government interference with gasoline prices and made her Michigan legislative office the home for Muslim interns from all over the world, including one from a non-existent country she proudly recognizes: “Palestine.” Cassis is the choice of liberal Republicans, lobbyists, and the establishment. I would never vote for her. Look at the photo below of whom she chose for her office interns (and the accompanying press release I copied from her then-legislative website), and you wouldn’t vote for her either. (And she’s supported by a number of Islamo-pandering dirtbags, including sleazy lobbyist Paul Welday and repeated failed candidate Andrew Andreij Rocky Raczkowski.) The problem is who the other choices are: a Republican supporter of Ron Paul who wants to close up all US foreign military bases and operations and starred in a movie saying America perpetrated 9/11. On the Democrat side, the choices are a Muslim doctor and a supporter of Lyndon LaRouche (the Democrat version of Ron Paul). More about them later, but first a little more about Thad McCotter, the most over-rated emperor with no clothing I’ve ever encountered. I’m glad people finally woke up to that fact with his series of meltdowns in the last few months.

Nancy Cassis’ Mostly Muslim Foreign Foreign Interns Go to School in Michigan Courtesy of US Tax $s

State Sen. Nancy Cassis, R-Novi, On December 10 2008, welcomed to the state Capitol seven foreign exchange students who received Youth Exchange and Study scholarships from the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. The students are part of the Youth for Understanding program to help build positive relationships between the U.S. and countries of the Arab and Muslim world. Pictured are Sandy Hatoum from Lebanon, living in Novi; Ayad Amer from Yemen, living in Troy; Nisa Mehr-Un from Pakistan, living in West Bloomfield; Reem Sharha from Palestine, living in West Bloomfield; Adi Wakid from Israel, living in Lake Orion; Andreas Daad from Denmark, living in West Bloomfield; and Ramshah Bukhari from Pakistan, living in Ann Arbor. (12/10/2008)

I had to laugh whenever I read the idiocy of over-rated faux-conservatives, like the pretentious Glenn Beck atheist, Sarah Cupp a/k/a “S.E. Cupp,” who raved over then-U.S. Congressman Thaddeus McCotter, as some sort of Jesus. And those moronic guys on FOX News’ “Red Eye” who had an odd pseudo-gay mancrush on this jerk. Those of us who followed McCotter’s rise in Michigan politics knew he was a phony and a creep all along. He made his career as a Michigan legislator by holding inquisition-esque hearings against State Senator David Jaye (a conservative star whom he saw as a rival) because Jaye had a naked photo of his fiancee on a laptop. From there, McCotter, who had a law degree but never an actual job (he ran for and held office for his entire “working” life), ran for Congress and appeared at HAMAS CAIR events, including one which I attended at which he slobbered on ad nauseam about how great Muslims and the CAIR people are. He only changed his tune (slightly) when a woman onstage said she was embarrassed to be American. McCotter warned Jewish contributors of his (who are friends of mine) that he might start supporting CAIR and Muslims because they are gaining more money and power.

I’ve had at least three friends who served as Congressional Chief of Staff for McCotter. None lasted because he’s a cretin and a self-centered schmuck. He was too busy trying to be a rock star–playing guitar at local events and pretending someone noticed or cared, and introducing stupid bills, like one he proposed that gave people tax deductions and credits for caring for their pets. McCotter actually thought he could be President or a famous FOX News personality, which is why he ran for President this year. Again, no one noticed or cared and he wasn’t even in the debates. Then, McCotter, when it came time to file to run for re-election to Congress in May of this year, turned in photocopied, faked signatures from years earlier. He blamed it on his staff. But, frankly, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was the one who engaged in the fraud. The staffers whom he blamed then released to the Michigan media a ridiculous script McCotter wrote in his Congressional office on taxpayer time. McCotter actually formed a production company and was seeking interest in his script from his Breitbart-connected friends (he was tight with Andrew Breitfraud). The script wasn’t just stupid, but it described his vacant, gushing friend, Sarah “S.E.” Cupp, as a stripper.

When the script was released McCotter immediately resigned from Congress and left taxpayers holding the bag for a special election to fill his seat for the rest of his term–as a figurehead for a month, as the election takes place in November–an election which will cost an extra $1 million. Yup, that’s Sarah Cupp’s and FOX News Channel Red Eye’s “refreshing conservative,” Thaddeus McCotter.

Only in America. Also only in America are the choices left on the ballot. Since his was a safe Republican seat, the likely winner is the winner of tomorrow’s Republican primary, but since McCotter is out, the Democrats are now putting money into the race. On the Democrat side, there is Muslim Dr. Syed Taj and another guy who supports Lyndon LaRouche, a nutcase anti-Semitic conspiracy theorist. On the Republican side, there is Kerry Bentivolio, the only Republican whose name is on the ballot. He’s a Ron Paul supporter who wants to end immigration enforcement and close all U.S. military bases outside the country. He played a doctor in a conspiracy theory movie that implied President Bush organized and ordered the 9/11 attacks so he could enact the Patriot Act. Area establishment Republicans got together to endorse a write-in candidate, and the “best” they could come up with was Nancy Cassis, a retired 70-year-old career tax-and-spend politician, who, as a state legislator, made a big deal out of her desire to regulate gas stations and oil companies over the price of a gallon of gas. She whined that if the price of a burger at McDonald’s was the same everywhere, the price of gasoline should be, too. When a Detroit Free Press columnist pointed out that the price of burgers is different at different McDonald’s locations, that didn’t shut her up from her BS.

And all the while, she was inviting extremist Muslim kiddies to serve–on your dime–as her interns.

You want more of that in Congress?

Any way the people vote in Thad McCotter’s former district tomorrow, we’re all screwed.

I knew that when I saw S.E. Cupp on Oprah to cry about the photoshopped phallus in her mouth, that she was no conservative. She is kinda cute. Too bad about her brain though.

I guess she fits in with the faux conservatives at hot air.

Thanks for wrecking my day Debbie. That is my old district (lived in what was then Farmington Township {8 Mile just west of Middlebelt} and graduated from Clarenceville High School). Back then (late 1960s) a relatively sane Democrat whose name I can’t remember was the Congressman. No shining star but as I remember a decent guy.

What a motley crew for my old neighbors to have to choose from tomorrow. Reminds me of a line from an old Stealers Wheel song “Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right”. Nothing like having to pick the least worse of a bunch of evil.

Things are almost as screwy here in Ohio where I live now: the current Republican Congressman (Steve LaTourette {14th District}) is quitting effective Wednesday. Not sorry to see him go (another RINO bits the dust) but now the party (party chairman and vice chairman from the 7 counties the district covers) get to pick his replacment for the November election. Odds are they’re going to pick another RINO. If LaTourette had resigned 2 weeks earlier there would have been a special primary to pick his replacement, and there are a number of good conservatives that would have had a shot at it.

There are times I really wonder with clowns and stooges like this in DC do we have a chance in hell of continuing on as a country?

William Bowen on August 6, 2012 at 5:18 pm

It’s not surprising that the candidates are so pathetic. There are no real issues in this campaign from either the Republicans or the Democrats.

The Republicans and Democrats both say the economy is the issue, but neither party has anything very specific to say about it.

Meantime, neither party is talking very much about Obamacare, foreign policy, the terrible financial status in the US, etc. With such a vacuum, fourth-rate candidates will flourish because virtually no one in either party has anything meaningful to say.

Little Al on August 6, 2012 at 5:27 pm

At least whomever wins can’t be any worse than my Representative. Jan Schakowsky (IL-9). The Congressbitch from J-Street.

I_AM_ME on August 6, 2012 at 5:31 pm

    I Am Me,

I’ll see your Congressbitch and raise you one Sheila Jackson Lee, from Houston. I think my “hand” beats yours.

WilliamMunny on August 7, 2012 at 8:51 am

Going a step further, Republican governors in recent weeks have supported increased taxation of internet transactions and weakening of voter ID laws. Romney never brings up Obamacare except for general statements about how he’s repeal it.

But no specific statements about challenging the obnoxious provisions going into effect as we speak, putting local candidates on the spot about Obamacare.

So in this vacuum, fifth-rate candidates crawl in through the woodwork.

Little Al on August 6, 2012 at 5:57 pm

McCotter did his party and district no favors by dragging out his resignation for so long. Thaddeus tries to come across as some sort of intellectual, but normally falls flat on his face. McCotter is pretty good at creepy stares that would get a child molester in a park arrested.

Worry01 on August 6, 2012 at 6:31 pm

Oy vey! Trouble is REAL Conservatives are more rare than rocking-horse crap. Very disappointing.

Loved this column because the disgusting drooling over Thad McCotter I never got. I remember hearing how bloody impressive he was a few years back (by talk-show hosts who should have known better) and when I finally saw him in action I was less than impressed. If you think for yourself you can garner what a creepy idiot and freak he is. If you listen to his droning monotone, you are not only bored into a sleep but also outraged that such a solipsistic fool is so arrogant in his delivery. He’s boring you and at the same time you’re annoyed because even though he agrees with whoever he is speaking with, he answers back in an arrogant way that makes it seem he is schooling the host with his superior intellect. You’re like, “Didn’t they just agree???” but arrogant McCotter makes it seem like he’s the smartest guy in the room. As if!!!!

S.E. Cupp is ridiculous. She is like the faux-Republican Kirsten “The Luckiest Girl In The World” Powers but Powers is so dumb and bought and sold that actually a fraud like “Sarah” knows a bit more than the dopey Powers. For years I laugh when I hear “S.E.” speak with any authority. PUH-LEEZE. She gets by on her looks and that alone. Nothing she ever said has set the world on fire. (Also notice she is “in” with the “right” Conservatariat too. If you’ve been paying attention you’ll see that clique all stick together. And they have a big thing in common…they are like days away from the TRUTH.)

Massachusetts has their own faux-Conservative frauds here too. We have a real hum-dinger running as a REPUBLICAN for Barney’s Frank seat who is an operative for the dirty Kennedy clan. The fool spends more time sniping at stupid crap regarding the Republican front-runner than trying to dismantle the red-headed freak Kennedy who thinks he’s entitled to Barney’s Frank seat just because he was born a Kennedy.

Great column and look in your own backyard because these shenanigans by so-called Republicans seem legion in 2012.

Skunky on August 6, 2012 at 6:55 pm

Yup… the Michigan GOP is screwed despite gerrymandering to hold power for another decade!

Where have all the conservatives gone?

NormanF on August 6, 2012 at 6:58 pm

these creeps can not survive in the dreaded private sector so mccoter will find some form of govt. tit to hang on.you should look up how many of our congresscritters take money from hamas and you would think it would be all over the news but not a peep from govt.media.are these people so ingnorant that they do not know how dangerious pisslam is or are the just stupid?in the case of my congresscritters i would say stupid because they seem to love all that marxis bull shit.

BRUCE on August 6, 2012 at 7:08 pm

What a motley crue this bunch of candidates is! I always sense Rep. McCotter was a hack politician, but I didn’t realize how inflated the claims on his behalf were. As for the LaRouche and Paul outliers who would replace him, they’re the worst of all.

As for S.E. Cupp, it’s all about image with her, the rebranding of “conservatism” as something hip and cool — hating liberals for fun and profit. She doesn’t quite grasp that she’s recycling every cliche of of Red State Uber Alles conservatism, all of them as histrionic as the next. I’ve read her two books. They’re both crap. The lady’s in love, all right…with herself. Maybe she’ll hook up with Welcome Back McCotter.

Seek on August 6, 2012 at 7:32 pm

Seek, enjoyed your points on that fraud “S.E” and you reminded me about how nutty (and similar) the Paulestinians and LaRoucheys are.

I remember the nutter LaRoucheys when I was a silly teen in the 80’s going to Mondale/Ferraro rallies (I’m embarrassed to admit that but I wasn’t old enough to vote…and that loss knocked me out of hard-core politics until 9/11…) on Boston Common.

I just had to explain to my sister about the LaRouche nutters. She sees them and thinks they are Conservatives because they sport Obama as Hitler posters. I explained to her not to be fooled and said the same stuff DS pointed out in her column.

I told her to focus on how young all the supporters are (and they were in the 80s too) because all that freak can get is young dummies to shill for him. If you’re older than 26 and still support LaRouche it means you go out of your straight-jacket and escaped the Asylum!

Skunky on August 6, 2012 at 7:49 pm

*** SPOILER ALERT ***

Debbie wrote “PUH-LEEZE” in this article. Look for Michael Medved to use that word on his show Tuesday, but no later than Wednesday, as he sometimes reads this blog a day late.

Is the odd one out a Janissary?

http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=347538

The Janissaries Are Coming

by Daniel D. New

“The Janissaries are coming!”

For over 450 years, that cry of alarm struck fear in the hearts of every European who heard it, from the lowest to the highest, particularly in Constantinople, Greece and the Balkans.

Who were the Janissaries? Why were they more dreaded than other enemies?

“The term in Turkish, yeniçeri means new troops, indicating exactly what they were in the beginning: An alternative to the old regular army.”1

They became the shock troops of the Ottoman Empire, established by the Turkish Bey Murad I in the late 1300’s. Realizing that troop levies from the tribal chieftains sometimes left him without dependable troops just when he needed them the most, he began to build a corps of soldier-slaves, at first from his prisoners of war, who were offered the not-so-difficult choice of death vs. serving as soldiers sworn directly to the Bey. After converting to Islam, they were then castrated and assigned to live in isolation from all other troops and from society. They became the most feared fighting force in Europe and the Middle East for nearly half a millennium.

Constantinople successfully resisted Muslim armies for centuries, but often that resistance was accomplished by levies of tribute – the Sultan would accept so much food, so much gold, and so many young boys as the price to forestall military incursion.

And that’s what struck fear in the hearts of the people of southeastern Europe. Most of the Janissaries were literally their own children.

Imagine, if you can, standing within the walls of your fortified city, watching the advance of the besieging army. Suddenly the wall is breached by cannon fire and who swarms through first? Not a swarthy Arabic army, but big, blonde, blue-eyed Muslim mercenaries swinging curved Arabian blades and shouting, “Allah akbar!” And then fathers and brothers and uncles killed, or were killed, by sons and brothers and nephews.

The use of professional mercenaries, combined with the diabolical twist of training the children of their enemies to fight against their own kind, struck more than fear in the hearts of their enemies – it went to the core of their being, to contend against their own flesh and blood.

It was not without a reason that mothers would threaten their sons, “You’d better behave, or the Janissaries will get you!”

For many years, cities and states, including Constantinople, were forced under threat of invasion to pay annual tributes, not only in gold, but in a quota of young boys to be delivered to the Sultan of Turkey. Which ones do you think he chose? Their own sons? The sons of their nobility or the church leaders? The sons of the most powerful bureaucrats? Of course not. They looked to the children of their slaves, to the common soldiers, to the poor. The majority of them were of Balkan or Scandinavian or northern European descent, for the Vikings had visited, colonized, and contributed to the gene pool everywhere in Europe.

In 1453 A.D., when Constantinople finally fell to the Sultan Mehmet, with over 100,000 troops, the most effective of them were the Janissaries.2 These shock troops were easily distinguished on a field of battle because of their fair complexions, and they were afraid of nothing on earth. The city was renamed Istanbul, and the Byzantine Empire crashed into history.

Phil Lipofsky on August 6, 2012 at 9:25 pm

I’m going to look up the word Janissaries. I believe many cruel tactics are employed by religious zealots, but this one is most cruel! To have your own flesh & blood look at you with cold unrecognizing eyes! The very core of human decency is violated by this tactic! We have President Obama devising plans to lead our children into this type of action through loyalty to government leadership! wallyworkswell@yahoo.com

    wallyworkswell@yahoo.com on August 7, 2012 at 10:15 am

I was thinking about emailing you about the shitty choices we have. I’d heard about Bentifraudo but wasn’t sure the stories were legit. This is a damn shame. Hoekstra is still decent I suppose.

samurai on August 7, 2012 at 12:16 am

A Ron Paul supporter wants to STOP enforcing the immigration laws? I find that difficult to believe. Almost across the board, Paulbots are adamant about sealing and enforcing the border. It’s pretty much the ONLY thing they are right about.

If the choices are that bad, you could always mount a write-in campaign yourself. Why not? I doubt you have to have lived in the district for more than a second to be eligible to run there. And with all the choices being so loathsome (I’m taking your word for that), it’s not like there’s any actual harm if you end up being a spoiler.

Ask some of those McCotter supporters you know to back your campaign.

Think it over.

Statusmonkey on August 7, 2012 at 12:27 am

The problem with the Republicans as well as conservatives of all stripes is their refusal to face and tell the truth about Obama. The truth being that Obama is a complete fraud, a usurper,a criminal, a Marxist, an Islamist who with the help of cronies and useful idiots is destroying this country one step at a time. Obamacare, jobs, gay rights, blah, blah, blah are just distractions from this country’s real problem. Obama and his minions.

Jerry G on August 7, 2012 at 8:56 am

Unfortunately this clown, McCotter, is/was my representative in Congress.

Now the guy, is costing our preceint all kinds of unnecessary money for a September run-off election.

I know you like to bash us liberals alot Debbie, but even you can see this guy was an idiot who loved his free franking priviledges.

trewsdetroit on August 7, 2012 at 3:28 pm

Thanks for this info, Debbie.

skzion on August 7, 2012 at 10:47 pm

It sounds like you think all muslims are extremists… that is kind of disturbing

nick on August 8, 2012 at 11:36 am

Debbie said “–an attention whore for FOX News”

Aren’t you the biggest bigoted attention whore the world has seen? Your petty vindictiveness and bigotry would put many a Nazi to shame.

Your Mama must be proud of her gal who is followed by a bunch of right wing lunatics who would make Al Qaida blush. You have your followers on these forums advocating genocide and ethnic cleansing based on a religious belief. You really pretend you are better than others don’t you?

Baz on August 8, 2012 at 4:31 pm

Baz, given that your “religion,” Islam, comes from satan, of course anyone who does not follow it is better than anyone who does.

Also, since you love the Nazis, stop using “Nazi” as a term of disparagement.

skzion on August 9, 2012 at 1:19 am

Truth be told, if you believe in religion…to quote the late George Carlin “Holy Shit”.

Religion is a huge farce, it serves a purpose of attempting to keep people in line by abiding common sense laws, however for people to kill in the name of the Great Gazoo, God, Allah, The Flying Spaghetti Monster is just insane.

I don’t believe in any of that hooky BS, however I am a good person that feels bad when I swat a fly.

trewsdetroit on August 10, 2012 at 1:07 pm

You do realize that interns aren’t paid when they work in Lansing, right?

Also, I get that some Muslims are dangerous, but I think we have to stop assuming that all Muslims are terrorists.

A lot of people came to the States to get away from the crazies, not become one in another country.

And – why do conservatives in Michigan assume that conservatives in other states are going to act like we go. Nothing Scott Brown doesn’t surprises me….he’s from MA. He’s going to do what he needs to do to get re-elected.

Purging people from the party because of the need for everyone to agree with you “or else” is going to hurt us in the long run.

What do I know, right? I’m only a conservative who finds myself hitting RINO status because I’m not as conservative as the Tea Party. Later –
