Muslim Iran Wimps Out of Olympic Match w/ Israeli Jewish Athlete (b/c Iran Would LOSE)

By Debbie Schlussel

The anti-Semitism of Iran (which is a proxy for the anti-Semitism of the entire Muslim world, be it Shi’ite, like Iran, or Sunni) is, yet again, on full display at the London Olympic Games, which debut on Friday and which–in appeasing the Muslim world–still will not have a memorial to the Israeli Olympic athletes who were murdered by Islamic terrorists in Munich. And aside from its anti-Semitism, the wimpitude of Iran and the Muslim world is also on display. Iran went to great lengths to make sure that its athletes will not have to face Israeli Jewish athletes (and the IOC is acquiescent in this, having Israel compete against European nations in regional preliminaries, etc.). Now, when that doesn’t appear to have worked, Iran has chosen to keep some athletes away from the Games, rather than have them compete against Israeli Jews . . . and suffer the shame of losing to those Israeli Jews. Conveniently, Iran’s one athlete who was certain to have to compete against Israel (snd would likely lose) suddenly has a “digestive infection” and conveniently missed the flight to London. Not that this is new. Iran–and other Muslim nations–have a history of doing this. They have such a lack of testicles that they cannot bear the thought that Jews might beat them (as they’ve beaten them in virtually every war, too, and in the war of ideas and inventions and patents, etc.). But, now, in a tiny pretense of doing the right thing–which he never ever actually does, Olympic chief Jacques Rogge said that countries that sit out events because of politics will be punished and penalized (though he hasn’t said what the penalty will be and there is a long, BS-endowed bureaucratic process to get there). So, Iran found a new way around it, with the “digestive infection” baloney.

Iranian Coward Javad Mahjoob Wimped Out of Losing to Israeli Olympian Ariel “Arik” Ze’evi

Despite an Iranian assertion on Monday that its athletes would compete against Israeli Olympians at the 2012 Games, the Iranian team departed for London hours earlier, leaving behind the lone athlete who had the possibility of facing an Israeli opponent.

On Sunday, Iranian authorities announced that that athlete, Javad Mahjoob, a judo champion, is suffering from a “critical digestive system infection,” forcing him to take antibiotics and cancel plans for the Games, which begin Friday.

Mahjoob’s absence has led to speculation that Iran is maintaining its long-standing policy of not allowing its athletes to compete with Israeli opponents.

Mahjoob himself has acknowledged going to great lengths to keep from squaring off against an Israeli. In a 2011 interview with the Iranian newspaper Shargh, Mahjoob admitted to throwing a match against a German opponent, saying that, “If I won I would have had to compete with an Israeli athlete. And if I refused to compete with the Israeli, they would have suspended our Judo federation for four years.”

Israel’s judoka in the 100-kilogram weight class, Ariel “Arik” Ze’evi, will be competing in his fourth Olympic Games. The 35-year-old won a bronze medal at the 2004 Games in Athens and is widely considered to hold one of Israel’s best chances of taking home a medal in London.

Ze’evi told the Associated Press last month that he did not understand athletes who bring politics into the sporting arena. “When you are doing judo, football, basketball, you have to show up on the field, do your best. It doesn’t matter who you fight,” Ze’evi said. “For me, I don’t have any problem to fight against a sportsman from any country, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria. .?.?. I really don’t understand it.”

Even though his last name means “of the wolf” or “wolf-like, ” Ze’evi’s a class act, so he won’t say it, but he understands it. Everyone understands it. They hate Jews. They resent Jews. They are jealous of the success and achievements of Jews. And they are afraid that they will be the latest to lose to the Jews. And, again, they just don’t have the cojones to deal with that eventuality.

Reader Roni:

I suppose it’s difficult to lose to a nation which in their eyes does not ideologically exist. Or they are afraid enough of risking a loss, that they will fake an infection (a known pattern with the Iranians). If that’s their stance on sports, why would you trust any statement by their ministers, on topics much more serious than sports?

Exactly.

The Iranians are cowards and should be wearing dresses. They have no problem bombing innocent civilians who are not in a position to defend themselves. However going one on one, man to man, they refuse.

I_AM_ME on July 25, 2012 at 1:39 pm

Ha! What complete hogwash. The Iranian athletes are far from cowardly. Athletes from all walks of life dedicate their entire lives training, competing, and mastering their chosen sport with the hopes of one day participating in the Olympics.

And records will show that Israel is on the bottom of the list for countries with the most medals. Iranians have beaten Israeli athletes by a good margin. The sole reason they refuse to participate against Israel is due to the boycott movement that has been in effect for a few years. So cut the bullshit. The only Israelis anybody fear are the trigger happy criminals in the IDF.

daniel stein on July 25, 2012 at 11:22 pm

Danny, can you provide any evidence in support of what you are saying?

Here is a source that is not at all conservative: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/world_now/2012/07/iranian-media-shuns-idea-of-olympians-competing-against-israelis.html

Also, if it is too difficult for you to read the whole thing, try this:

“Last week, Iranian Sports Minister Mohammad Abbasi insisted that Iranian athletes would continue to boycott events with Israeli competitors, telling the Islamic Republic News Agency that ‘not competing with the Zionist athletes is one of the values and prides of the Iranian athletes and nation.”

      Was Abbasi lying Danny?

      Or this perhaps:

“An Iranian judo practitioner who might have faced an Israeli in competition, Javad Mahjoub, is reportedly missing the Games due to gastric illness — a withdrawal that some have eyed suspiciously. In the past, Mahjoub told Iranian media he had deliberately lost a match to avoid facing off with an Israeli.”

So, what do you have Danny? Did you actually have anything to back up your statements? I do consider someone who deliberately avoids an event to be a bad sportsman and coward. Manjoub even admitted in the past that he took a dive in order to avoid an encounter with an Israeli.

Let us know when you find your facts.

Worry on July 26, 2012 at 8:45 am

Worry your examples and quotes are completely irrelevant in regards to the article. Debbie is insinuating that Iranian athletes refuse to compete against Israeli athletes because they are scared, inferior, and destined to lose. Like Israel is a nation of super hero athletes. That’s preposterous!

They refuse to play against Israeli athletes for the sole reason of the BDS and other similar movements. Simple as that. Your nonsensical prattle does little to convince anybody otherwise

daniel stein on July 28, 2012 at 7:38 pm

perhaps Iranians are NOT cawors ! ….perhaps they don’t want to stand next to Israelis!…… don’t get to stuck – up on those silly ideas cooked in your heads Israeli ! That’s hilarious – afraid to lose to Israeli Jews so they feign illness. How juvenile.

Actually he was caught eating during Ramadan and came down with severe “stabbing” pains.

Italkit on July 25, 2012 at 2:20 pm

So, Mahjoob basically had a tummy ache. Or, did you foul your shorts at the prospect of being thrashed by a Jew? If Israel is a zero in Iran’s eyes, what does fleeing in terror at the prospect of competing with a Jew make Iran? It is cowardice. An empty bucket makes the most noise.

Worry on July 25, 2012 at 2:28 pm

Well isn’t that special? Maybe instead of drug testing, they should do a cojones test.

Road Warrior on July 25, 2012 at 2:36 pm

The chances an Iranian or an Arab would have to actually face an Israeli opponent in the Olympics are higher than the odds of winning the house in Las Vegas.

But anti-Semitism is such that they are afraid of a Jewish human being. Behind the bully image of the anti-Semite is the coward. They will never really beat Israel in anything despite their propaganda.

I don’t want Israel to go to the Olympics for principled reasons but since its team is going there, what we do know is the Jews make far better sportsmen than their enemies. Even if the IOC never deigns to acknowledge it.

They may or may not bring home Olympic medals but they will show us again exactly what Iran and the Arabs are really made of. Iranian and Arab courage are a myth.

NormanF on July 25, 2012 at 2:49 pm

That’s a shame. The Olympics is supposed to be a series of friendly games, regardless of your particular ideology.

For once Debbie, I have to agree with you. My late father called the vast majority of Middle East countries a bunch of cowards.

Since I was a student of judo & aikido for 8 years when I was in high school & college, I always LOVE watching, if I can, judo in the Olympics. And I have NO DOUBT that this Iranian putz would be “submitted” in no time flat.

Cicero's Ghost (NB) on July 25, 2012 at 5:26 pm

What does iranian sportmen feel when their govnmt forbide compite with israelies ? They have been prepared for 4 years and I suppouse they want to compete.
If they do that, when back Iarn they go to prission.

Arturo on July 25, 2012 at 5:30 pm

I used to love the Olympics but I am not into it at all this year since I have learned of THEIR crappy politics.

Any freak who says that Iran (and Moooooooslims) are not intrinsically evil absolutely is ignorant of the FACTS and this is another story that proves it. These satanic Moooooslims are always putting down the Jews and treating them as they are beasts when of course it’s a major case of projection. It’s so easy to see yet many Jews wanna say Israel is the aggressor(????) when no matter how you slice it is Islam and those infected by it (the non-Moooooslims in the respective regions) who have the problem and who are sickos and aggressors.

Yet this story will not quell the cry of Liberal Jews who are useless idiots and the monster Mooooslims and their proxies. They’ll still demonize Israel and see them as wrong. HOW???????

I know the truth. I am not Jewish and don’t need to be to see the truth. It’s as easy to see as 7 on eight!

Skunky on July 25, 2012 at 5:37 pm

Everyone should understand it, if they don’t already, it’s a cowardly repetitive act by the Iranians which is becoming cyclical.

Roni on July 25, 2012 at 7:37 pm

As I’m fond of mentioning, it’s kind of unfair for an Iranian athlete to go up against a Jewish one in a publicized competition.

If he lost, he’d have to be killed back home. It’s not exactly fair.

luagha on July 25, 2012 at 11:43 pm

Redefining Israel as an European country for the purposes of international sporting events is downright inane. Geographically, Israel is very much a part of Asia, and should compete w/ the likes of Japan, Korea, China, India, et al.

If Muslim countries don’t like it, kick them out – honestly they won’t be missed. It’s not even like the Commies – the Commies were actually good to a good extent, even discounting their abuse of performance enhancing drugs. Which sport on earth are Muslims any good @?

Or, if they can’t stand to face Israel, define the OIC as one group – from Pakistan to Senegal, but define Israel as a part of what it is – Asia. Let them compete against the non-Muslim Asian countries I mentioned above. Israel is not a part of Europe!

Infidel on July 26, 2012 at 2:17 am

No, it just proves that you are a rambling spam artist. You are no better than a delinquent teen spray painting an ally or bus. What you wrote has nothing to do with this subject, and detracts from the thread.

The Iranian withdrew because he saw that the sport in question was not judo, but JEWDO.

Chrobry on July 26, 2012 at 3:21 am

And you just proved Debbie’s point once again. You are like a two your old who insists that they do not need a diaper just before they leave a nice mess for mommy to clean up. If you represent what is wonderful in Poland, it is indeed a sorry place that no one in their right mind would want to go near.

Worry on July 26, 2012 at 7:08 am

@Chrobry: Please stop trolling. If you don’t agree with the opiions published here, do discuss and present your case. Spamming and writing puns is counter-productive.

    @Worry:

“If you represent what is wonderful in Poland, it is indeed a sorry place that no one in their right mind would want to go near.”

He tries to represent the historical facts, but he’s spamming and thet’s not the right way to discuss such topics. The modern Poland is different and I’m personally quite glad of the Jewish revival in Poland (compare with Jewish exodus in Netherlands nowadays). Poland is not a sorry place. The Jewish history in Poland is a lot longer than the tragic XX century.

Chrobry and the likes of him (the worse ones) are not representatives of all Poles. If you think that, then you think in stereotypes. Jews are also not a monolith. The problem is: those who scream the loudes,t are the ones you see clearly.

Bart on July 29, 2012 at 2:40 am

Debbie
In all olympic sports Israel is a member of the European federation. They compete in European Championships on even term with all other countries. They also host European Championships.
The European Triathlon Championships 2012 was held in Eilat and in 2013 the European U21 Championship in football (soccer) will be held in Israel.
The reason Israel is not a member of the Asian federations is that China (with its communist allies) and the Arab nations together had a majority in the 80’es and voted to throw Taiwan & Israel out of them. Since then Taiwan (Under the name Chinese Taipei) been voted back.
Personally I see Israel more like an European than Asian country, allthough its asian geographic placing.

leif on July 26, 2012 at 9:00 am

We are NOT a European country, thank G-d.

Italkit on July 26, 2012 at 12:31 pm

ded when are the israelis going to nuke iran and get it over with?screw the us and russia if they give you any shit just tell them you have one left for them.

BRUCE on July 26, 2012 at 3:50 pm

Italkit is right. A large portion of Israel’s population is either native to Israel, which would make it Asian, or they are people whose forebears used to live in African Muslim states, and came to Israel after it was founded.

If a majority of Israelis are not from Europe, which is what the case is above, how does that make Israel an European country? And it’s not like Europeans like Israelis any more than the Asians – they like them slightly more than the Muslims, but much less than the Chinese.

Some of the geographic definitions just don’t make sense. The Asiatic members of the former Soviet Union – the stans – still pretend that they are a part of Europe. But they are Turkic and the original home of the Turks – by no means are they European. If they are European, Mongolia, Korea and Japan are European as well.

Put Israel back into Asia, and bunch the Muslim countries w/ Africa, where a bunch of their comrades already are – from Egypt to Somalia to Senegal. After all, how much difference is there really b/w Egypt & Syria? Or Somalia & Pakistan?
