Night @ the Smithsonian, Afternoon in a Screening Room

By Debbie Schlussel
Just got back from a critics’ screening of “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian.” They didn’t have the print of the movie on time and so we began viewing it almost an hour late. It happens (and it worked out great for people who are perpetually late and always rushing, like me). But that’s why I’ve been away.
The movie–the second installment of “Night at the Museum”–is in theaters on Friday. I really liked the original, which is great for kids. I’ll be posting my review for the sequel early Friday Morning. Stay tuned.
In the meantime, watch the trailer:

Saw the trailer last night. This looks like a real DOG, with a capital “D.” The trailer was boring and elicited NO laughs from the assembled multitude in the theater. If these were the BEST lines meant to get us into the theater, they failed, miserably.

Another idiotic movie with the no talent Ben Stiller.
For the life of me, I do not understand the fascination that Hollywood has for this guy. They put him in every genre and now another installment of the not funny slapstick museum series.
As soon as I see his name on the credits, I know the movie is going to suck so pardon me if I miss this one.The first one stunk and I lasted only ten minutes before walking out.

I agree, Stiller is horrible. I’m convinced this guy signed a deal with the devil to keep getting movie offers sent his way.
I know, from previous postings, when you save reviews for the release date that you can hear the air whistling sound of a bomb about to be dropped.
I didn’t see the first one, and I’m sure this has to be of the straight to dvd type of movie.
Did you get to Terminator Salvation Monday Night? It was really neat running into McG outside in the lobby afterwards.
I had the chance to ask him how he handled Christian Bale when he went Patrick Bateman on the set of Terminator.
