Evelyn Garcia: Florida Dem Official Resigns After Anti-Israel Diatribe, Called Israel “Concentration Camp”
Yesterday, Jack Furnari of BizPacReview posted anti-Israel (and let’s face it, anti-Semitic) emails using Holocaust imagery authored by Florida Democrat activist and candidate, Evelyn Garcia (a friend of Debbie Wasserman-Schultz). And, late yesterday, Garcia resigned from her post as a member of the Democratic National Committee from Palm Beach. Whatta dummy. You’ll sadly be able to get away with that crap in Dearbornistan but not in Palm Beach. The many old Jewish people there may not always get the butterfly ballot (and accidentally voted for Jew-hater Pat Buchanan), but don’t engage in anti-Semitic, anti-Israel diatribes there because the people still have a sense of sanity and decency. Furnari has JPEG photos of all the e-mails, and they are disturbing. From Furnari:
Local Democrats are in an uproar about a series of emails about Israel, sent last year by one of their representatives to the Democratic National Committee, and a candidate for state representative.
In the emails, Evelyn Garcia, one of Palm Beach County’s representatives to the DNC, a Democratic Executive Committee member, and a candidate for State House, District 88, accuses Israel of “crimes against humanity” and of running “mass concentration prison camps”.
The email exchange began with Garcia forwarding an email by Code Pink, “Time for a New Middle East Policy,” which announced a conference opposing President Obama’s pandering to the, “pro-occupation lobby.” . . .
“By supporting Israeli occupation with US foreign aid, we are all complicit and guilty of their crimes against humanity.”
From the Palm Beach Post:
“The continued Israeli occupation of Palestine is ugly on moral, ethical, religious and legal grounds,” Garcia said in an email dated July 26, 2011. “Palestinians had nothing to do with the holocaust [sic] and it is time that this guilt trip was taken off their backs…. And I deeply resent U.S. taxpayer funds being used to continue Israeli aggression.”
In that same email, Garcia accused Israel of confiscating land and building illegal settlements in occupied territories, as well as “incursions that kill people, destroy civilian homes and infrastructure all over; mass concentration prison camps, etc.”
In A May 24, 2011 message, Garcia wrote: “Slavery was ended, apartheid was ended and so this occupation must end.” . . .
Garcia, a Haitian-American, was elected to the Democratic National Committee in 2008, after serving as a delegate to the party’s national convention in Denver earlier that year.
Hmmm . . . I guess she forgot all those hospitals and rescue teams Israel was the first to send to Haiti. Thanks for the payback, Evelyn.
While Democrats forced Garcia to resign, they wouldn’t be so quick to do so in Michigan, as John Dingell and John Conyers and other Dearbornistan-area Democrats say this and worse all the time. The fact is that getting Garcia out was all about politics. Not about doing what’s right.
And if you think I have a higher opinion of Republicans on this stuff, think again. In the mid-2000s, then Michigan GOP Chair, Saul Anuzis, recruited Nasser Beydoun–a Jew-hating, anti-Israel, Hezbollah supporter from South Lebanon, who has said much of the same thing and spoke at Hezbollah rallies–to run for the U.S. Senate. And there are many other examples. After all, GOP star Chris Christie is proud of his HAMAS Judge.
They are all whores in politics. And sadly, whores go where the money and–in politics–where the votes are. When Muslims are the majority in Palm Beach, Evelyn Garcia will be a rising star. Or she could move to Michigan Avenue in Dearborn.
