PETA’s Latest Dumb Publicity Grab: “Chicken Dance” Causes Animal Abuse
By Debbie Schlussel
Gotta love the hypocrity of the animal rights zealots of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) a/k/a PUTAh (People for the Unethical Treatment of Animals and humans).
They have no problem with their spokesskank, Pamela Anderson, getting paid to promote a steakhouse. Yet, they are livid over the “chicken dance” at a NASCAR race. They apparently don’t get that this silly dance is comprised of HUMANS imitating animals. Or, apparently, they do . . . and they think this constitutes “animal abuse” and encourages the real thing. Plus, they’re on Col. Sanders’ case . . . again.
Today, PETA sent an urgent letter to Guinness World Records editor in chief Craig Glenday, urging him to refuse to accept KFC’s bid to set a world record at the Talladega Superspeedway for the largest group chicken dance. Guinness has previously agreed not to certify records that involve cruelty to animals, and PETA is asking that Guinness also refuse to accept world-record bids from a company that refuses to reduce the needless suffering of chickens killed for profit.
“If this record is allowed, it could encourage other animal abusers to attempt silly feats that make a mockery of animal protection,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman.
Talk about a stretch. I guess these people have never seen Loony Toons. Remember Wile E. Coyote’s and the Road Runner’s exploits? They “could encourage other animal abusers,” too.
If PETA was honest, they would promote a chicken as a candidate for President of the United States.
